My day job became day, noon and night job...
here a story for ya all

Once upon a time, there was a wise kupuna (elder),
who went to the sea to contemplate.
One day, while walking along the shore,
the kupuna looked down the beach,
and saw a gracefully dancing
human figure.

The kupuna wondered out loud,
"Who would so joyfully greet this day with hula?"
and began to walk faster to catch up.

Getting closer,
the kupuna saw that the dancer was a keiki (child),
who was not dancing at all.
The keiki was reaching down to the sand to pick up something,
and was very gently throwing it into the sea.

The kupuna called out to the keiki,
"Aloha! What are you doing?"

The keiki paused, looked up and replied,
"Throwing starfish into the sea."

Surprised, the kupuna sputtered,
"I...I guess I should have asked,
WHY are you throwing starfish into the sea?"

The keiki smiled brightly, pointed upward and,
with exquisite simplicity, replied,
"The sun is up, the tide is going out.
If I don't throw them in, they will die."

"But, don't you realize, " asked the kupuna,
"that there are miles and miles of beach
and starfish all along it?
You can't possibly make a difference!"

The keiki listened politely.
Then bent down, picked up another starfish,
threw it gently into the sea, just beyond the breaking waves,
and exuberantly declared,
"It made a difference for that one."

When I was about 14 I finished reading Tolkien's marvelous books. Till today I am a huge fan of Tolkien and as far as I am concern I will ever be.

After that my uncle introduced me to an other form of writing, Science Fiction, and who is better at this kind of writing?
Isaak Asimov.
I was thrilled beyond imagination. His books shed light to my world and made me feel in love with everything that has to do with technology. The possibilites of time travels, robots, intergalactic battles, communities, citys build in different planets...

I just loved it.
Recently though I read an "article" about how science fiction stories are not worthy of reading...
Science fiction is not worth on watching... and the weird thing is that it came out of someone known as a " movie and book critic ".

Some people tend to forget that

Science fiction is an existential metaphor that allows us to tell stories
about the human contition.
Isaac Asimov once said :

"Individual science fiction stories may seem as trivial as ever to the blinder
critics and philosophers of today but the core of science fiction, its essence
has become crucial to our salvation. If we are to be saved at all."

"Why do you say so?"
"Because...."
"because what? Because you don't get what you want?"
"No its just that this world ... this life is unfair"
"Is that so... well if you can say so isnt that what most people would say?"
"Most people tend to lie."
"And you tend other ways"
"Hey are you with me at this one or not?"
"Oh you are. You are having this conversation with me since i can remember"
"What i need is one thing"
"That one thing is what you cant have. Why not just leave it."
"Why should I?"
"Cause you failed to get it when you could"
"I ... i did."
".... Look ... nothing is lost ok?"
"is IT not?"
"Well it might aswell seems like it is lost. But no i dont believe it is. You just have to stand back for a little while."
"He who fights and run away...."
"Lives to fight another day. Indeed."
Day 5 is up.

Well since things dont change a lot in the world i am living in
Boredom by *ArmyBrat1521 on deviantART
I thought "what the heck" so i decided to write again and by writing i mean. My old good fiction writing.
Needless to say i failed miserable BUT its a good start.
You see writing is not like a bicycle and then again it is. They say that if you learn how to bike you will never forget it but they say that if you leave something for a long time it leaves you too as well. So this is what happens with writing.
You need to heat up a bit before it comes back to you. I know this past few days it was sucky but i swear its going to get better so if you please stick with me... you'll see :)

Just to make my place clear.
I am not going crazy if this is what you think after reading the previous posts.
You know me being here means actually a lot more than just taking a plane from Greece ---> Dubai--->Singapore--->Melbourne.
It means ME--->loosing friends---->Loosing Family----> My Home.
But most of all loosing her.
Well "She" was gone long before i came here but that doesn't mean that i don't think about her or miss her.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iul4SBlHIf8
That sounds nice !
I know i talk to much but this is a habit i cant stop.
Once someone ( i dont really remember ) told me that habits start like
a web of a spider and end up being as steel fence.

Wise man he was.

I have to think new ways of having fun.
Well writing is sure one.
Thinking and laying to my best sure is an other. (many people dont see how this could be fun. Well most of you that dont .... i dont care to explain.)

Gym would be a nice idea. Especially now that i kill most of my time doing nothing.

Reminder to self : Loose the weight.

Sport would be nice too. But it will be boring going there alone. Maybe later.

Work would be fantastic. NAH

Travel would be good too. But i have to gather money for many other things 1st.

Damn... only gym is left. Oh well....

PS
Why the hell all the books about fitness online have to do with the US Army and the Black Ops and stuff... I went to the Greek army :D its fine there aswell..
I mean my cigarettes are gone and money are depleted for good.
I went to the mall ... not for shopping but to the old good Borders to sit and read a book drinking my coffee when i realized i have no smokes. And there it was the decision... money to buy coffee or money for cigarettes.. NO HUMAN BEING SHOULD HAVE TO CHOOSE ONE OF THOSE AGAIN.

Coffee is not the same with no cigarette and cigarette is not the same without coffee so i just LEFT.

DAMN and the book seemed so good.
You know what. Yes maybe not as polluted as mine... and yes maybe with more opportunities but who gives a fuck.. really... Maybe not even then.
It was 12.01 at night when I left my house and I know because the coo coo clock made that weird coo coo noise, that has nothing to do with the real noise an owl do, just when i locked the door.
It's something I do. Leaving late at night just before I go to bed, strolling down the road just for a smoke.
He was standing at the far end, few steps behind the light column but again at the same line, looking straight at me. I could not see the facial characteristics probably because of the whole light disposition but few I could make out.
Long hair, and a white pale face. His eyes though... His eyes were the most strange of all. Glittering from the nights light, deep red and big.
Have you ever faced a situation that its most dangerous and difficult but still felt the desire to accomplish it? Well that was me at that minute.
Terrified and afraid i might say but i kept on moving. As if someone was pushing me cause I remember clearly thinking of turning back and even trying to but with no result. I was being sucked by a typhoon and my body just moved by it self. No control.
I was now a step before, and his face was as clear as the stars upon us and the whole moon. Black long hair and a pale face as of the dead. But he was alive and i could even smell his breath and hear his heart beating. But maybe not. Maybe he was in the middle. He made a move with his hand as of to touch my face and suddenly pulled back. He watched my neck. Was it my neck or the cross i was wearing. I couldn't be sure.
But he laughed.
"The night is young and you are.. oh so pure. I will come back of that be sure and that time you will do as i command."
The wind blew faster and his hair got in front his face and his cape flew beneath us and what happened then i still wonder. I closed my eyes to protect them from the air and when i opened them again he was gone. Gone in thin air.

I will be waiting i say. And when you come I will be ready.

Cause drink after drink memories kept coming one after another.
Friends meant nothing anymore and life that most of the times is short for him was long... long because of the thoughts that he couldnt bare holding anymore and one day he decided to leave.
He drank and drank and when the time came... he pulled the trigger.
His friends found him and in the pool of blood surrounding him a little note: "I will love her forever"

No one ever knew how she felt.
And friends and strangers kept talking behind her back.
She tried to hide the smell of drink behind her smile and she did well.
But at the lone nights she drank her self to death.
And when it was no more bearable anymore for her that long long life she decided to finish it there.
She drank and drank and when the time came she pulled the trigger.
When the next day she was found and there inside the pool of blood his photograph.
They buried her next to him so they can be together for ever.
And since life was not for them anymore may death be!

Said the old man.

When i turned my head a man of 70 years of age was standing there looking at me from above ( since i had kneeled trying to find my book).

He was wearing huge glasses and he had white long hear and beard that nearly reached his belt. He was half my size and thin with really old clothes. My first thought was that he must be a beggar but, as usually, :) i was wrong.

I said that I am looking an old edition of Bram Stokers book, Dracula.

"Just to your right second selve bottom, up."

Indeed It was at that position and happily i found the first edition which i hoped for. 1897.

"Awesome! Thanks"
"No worries lad. I remember reading that book more than 50 years ago. By that time I was studying History at a Oxford University and there was a huge fuss about it. One day, which i still remember that it was mid December, I got the book from my University library and headed to the small flat that I use to live in. Just one room. The sensation took over me and I read the whole book in 1 day. And I absolutely loved it then as much as I love it now. You know... I believe you felt the same feeling once or twice... The creaking noise of the door closing... the weird noises outside the window... the weird feeling that someone is watching you...." His face at that time seemed so enthustiastic that i could actually feel exactly what he meant together with seeing him as he might be 50 years ago reading Bram's Stoker book inside a small room God knows where....
" You know what? Maybe I'll take the chance of reading it again today... though i think it would probably take me more than one day to read it this time... You see... I got older :) "
"Don't worry" i said smilling " I am sure it will take me more than one day too"

Great Book. Great Person.

His bed was near the only window in the room.
The other man had to spend all the time on his bed with no exceptions.

The men talked for hours non stop.
They talked about their women and their families, their houses, their businesses, their time in military and where they went vacations.

Every afternoon, the man near the window would get and spend his time describing at his "co-tenant" everything he could see out of the window.
The man at the other bed start living for just those periods of time when he could open and invigorate his world from the activity and color of the outside world.

The window was facing a park with a wonderful pond.
Ducks and swans playing in the waters while kids were sailing their paper ships.
Young people in love were walking hand with hand beneath every kind of color flowers and a beautiful view on the horizon of the city it could be seen in the depth.

As the man in the window was describing those with wonderful detail, the other man at the other side of the room had his eyes closed and he imagined the graphic setting.
A hot afternoon, the man described a band that was passing.
And though the man with no window could not hear the music - he could see with the eye of his mind as his friend was describing near the window.

Days, Weeks and Months passed.
A morning, the morning nurse came to bring them water for their shower only to see the inanimate body of the man near the window, which died peacefully in his sleep.
Surprised she called the doctors to take his dead body.

When it was considered fitting, the other man asked if he could be transferred near the window.
The nurse happily made the change, and after she was certain that the man was feeling comfortable she left him alone.
Slowly, painfully, he carried himself to his one elbow so he can see for the first time the outside world..
He tried hard to turn and see outside the window near his bed.
He saw a white wall.
The man asked the nurse what could probably make his dead co-tenant to describe such a beautiful setting outside this window.
The nurse answered that the man was blind and he couldn't even see the white wall. And then she added, "Maybe he simple wanted to give you courage."

Conclusion:
There is a huge happiness on making others happy, despite our own
situation.
Sharing sadness is half sadness, but happiness, when its shared, it is doubled.
If you want to feel rich, simple count all things you have that cannot be bought with money

Today is a gift, that why it is called "The Present" .
