Summer Time Colds are the Worst!

I've had this cold for almost a week now. I thought I had really bad allergies. When I lost my voice I went to the doctor. She told me I have a summer cold. I never heard of such a thing. I need to get out more.LOL!
I'm just glad to be breathing clearly again, sleeping better and not coughing my brains out!

Getting back from vacation

Last week we went to the shore. We saw fourth of July fireworks from the Atlantic City boardwalk. I was impressed with all the different shapes as they exploded.

We had plenty of beach time. It was hot and humid almost everyday. Erik & I spent most of our time in the ocean. We stayed close to shore. The surf was rough and battered the swimmers. I only went up to my knees and a few times I got knocked over or someone got knocked over and ran into me. We saw the dolphins in the distance feeding. It was hard to see them because they are colored like the ocean. I was really hoping one would leap out of the water but that didn't happen. I didn't have my camera either. When I do have my camera they don't show up.

There is something about the beach, maybe it's the rhythm of the surf or the salty air or maybe both, that is so calming. I will miss walking on the beach and letting my mind wander.

Tomorrow's it back to work!

I survived the 2 big snow storms we've had. Quite a workout shoveling all that heavy snow. My son must be the only kid who doesn't like to play in the snow! I tried to tempt him with having a snowball fight and building a snow man. No luck!
My husband has been traveling for work and is gone all week. We look forward to the weekends because he's home. But those weekends go so fast!

As most of you know I work as the Lead Graphic Artist for ElectricBear Studios. They produce the award winning kids tv show Krysta's Kingdom.

We've made a lot of changes. We have a new actress who plays Krysta, we've added a new character, Tessie the turtle and changed the look of our website. The site is a work in progress, but you still can watch the episode in our little tv screen.

Meet Erin LaChance who plays Krysta. Not only is she an actress but an excellent singer as well.

Cosmetique Stylin’ And Profilin’ With Super Models

Women that wear Cosmetique make-up will not only be looking good, but they’ll also be catapulted to super model status as the line has partnered with the beauty series “You are the Super Model.”

The series, produced by Electric Bear Studios, gives members free make-up application and beauty tips, and insider news. The club will now be run through Cosmetique and can be accessed from its Web site www.cosmetique.com.

“This club builds on the premise of the show, which is to give everyday women the tools to feel and look their best no matter what the situation may be,” said Barbara Siragusa, vice president, Electric Bear Studios. “By joining the affinity club, members will have access to samples of some of the finest products on the market – just like a real life super model would.”

You Are the Super Model has released four DVD collections, including bridal and many other make-up looks, to date. Additionally, several individual looks are available for download, including a free DVD download.

“Cosmetique offers some of the finest make-up and beauty products on the market,” said Siragusa. “We are honored to have Cosmetique as the sponsor of the club as we know our members will receive the superstar treatment.”

The premise of the series is to show women that age, skin-type or size doesn’t matter when they know the techniques, tips and tricks of make-up artists. The show uses only local, non-professional-

model women to showcase the beauty secrets of the pros.

Krysta’s Kingdom’s Rex Walks With Squeak In His Step

Building on the premise of teaching children about sights and sounds, Krysta’s Kingdom’s Rex wears squeaky shoes from Got Squeakers!? in each episode.

The shoes from Got Squeakers?! were designed to teach toddlers to walk from heel-to-toe and to provide parents with the ability to listen for their children around the house or in crowded places.

“The shoes were originally to be worn in only one episode that focused on sound,” said Barbara Siragusa, vice president, Electric Bear Studios. “However, when we saw how adorable the shoes are and what a useful and fun teaching tool they were, we decided to work them into every episode. The shoes are a crowd pleaser and Rex is always excited to hear himself walk.”

Got Squeakers!? is a mom-owned company based in San Diego that offers squeaky shoes for boys and girls in sizes 3-12. In addition to teaching children to walk ergonomically, the shoes have also been used as a therapy tool for children with autism, as they are typically toe walkers.

The premise for Krysta’s Kingdom is the main character Krysta, played by Erin LaChance, is stranded on a magical, deserted island when Milo the hummingbird pops her hot air balloon. When she begins exploring the island she meets many friends, including Rudy the rubber duck, a magic mirror, and Lady Liz the lady bug.

Not only is the television series designed to be educational for viewers, but also the Web site features many resources for children and parents alike, including the Book Nook, a lab, spelling quizzes, cooking tips, and more.

Krysta’s Kingdom can be seen on Kids and Teens Television on Saturday mornings at 7:30 and Saturday afternoons at 1:30. It will also begin airing on The Starfish Television Network in December 2009.

Prior to its air date, Krysta’s Kingdom won five Florida Motion Picture and Television Awards for best children’s program, best editing and best director - Sam Siragusa ; best director of photography – John O’Hara; and best music composer – Dan Nowicki.

All the students wrote and illustrated their own stories. They had a publishing party today. My son is 7 years old and has autism. This is his special ed class. It has taken tremendous courage to get in front of the room and speak. He has come such a long way and we are proud of him!

October 27, 2009 -- Oct 27, 2009 – ORLANDO – Electric Bear Studios’ award-winning animated children’s series Krysta’s Kingdom has been picked up by the Starfish Television Network.
The series, which currently can be seen on Kids and Teens Television (KTV), will begin the additional showings on Starfish in December 2009.

“We are finding that people are hungry for wholesome, fun and educational shows for their children like those that they grew up on,” said Barbara Siragusa, vice president, Electric Bear Studios. “The Starfish Television Network is founded on the premise of giving organizations driven by a good cause a medium in which to speak. We couldn’t be a better match.”

Krysta’s Kingdom premiered on KTV on Sept. 12 and can be seen each Saturday at 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The KTV show times will continue in addition to the new Starfish Network air times.

Hard a little time this morning. Thought I'd put in more personal posts in between the TV posts.

So many things are happening and so fast. I can hardly believe that it is almost November. I'm not ready for Christmas. The stores were already decorating and loading Christmas items back on October 1st. Just not ready.

Anyway. Been busy working on the Krysta's Kingdom show. It's a lot of hard work but it's fun. I work at home. Hard to believe that I do it all on my laptop. I don't have a home office. My "office" is one side of the sofa with the cordless phone balanced on the arm of the sofa. I know, Gasp! Maybe when I upgrade to a bigger desktop computer I'll use the dining room table. Well it'll be a step up.

It's not easy keeping the family happy, doing chores, errands, running my mom to dr.s appointments/shopping and doing homework with my son. When you work from home work is always there, you don't really get away from it. I try not to work too late at night unless it's a tight deadline. But on the whole I think I'm handling it well. My house is a disaster, but I can only do so much each day.

I also try to take care of myself. I try to work out 3 times a week. I belong to my local YMCA. But lately it's been 2 days a week. I had to quit swimming for a while. The budget is getting tight. I like to work out. I work out for about an hour. I usually do 15 mins on the treadmill or bike just to warm up. Then I hit all the leg machines, some arm machines, some pilates for the abs, free weights whatever I can get too. It's usually crowded. I believe that exercise helps me deal with stress, keeps me healthy and not bad to maintain my weight.

We're gearing up for Halloween. My son just got better. He had the cough/cold with fever thing going around over the weekend. He went to school today. Now my husband is sick. He's freaking out cause of the H1N1 thing. I think he caught what Erik had. He doesn't have the flu.

Well that's all for now.
