Dear Family of Mary!

Today I have homework for all of you! I will not send another reflection until Monday, August 10. So for this weekend, take these 5 messages from Our Lady and pray over them. We can read on between each decade of the Rosary or just take a quiet time in prayer and read them slowly and carefully.

Our Lady gives us messages so that we can come to understand her love and the love of God. Do not take them for granted. They come from Heaven!

Mother Mary, please pray that we will receive an anointing of the Holy Spirit as we read these messages, so that we will begin to truly understand God's call to us through you. We need help! Please pray over us for the gift of the Holy Spirit!!! Amen

Let us pray:

June 25, 1987 "Dear children! Today I thank you and I want to invite you all to God's peace. I want each one of you to experience in your heart that peace which God gives. I want to bless you all today. I am blessing you with God's blessing and I beseech you, dear children, to follow and to live my way. I love you, dear children, and so not even counting the number of times, I go on calling you and I thank you for all that you are doing for my intentions. I beg you, help me to present you to God and to save you. Thank you for having responded to my call."

March 25, 1990 "Dear children! I am with you even if you are not conscious of it. I want to protect you from everything that satan offers you and through which he wants to destroy you. As I bore Jesus in my womb, so also, dear children, do I wish to bear you into holiness. God wants to save you and sends you messages through men, nature, and so many things which can only help you to understand that you must change the direction of your life. Therefore, little children, understand also the greatness of the gift which God is giving you through me, so that I may protect you with my mantle and lead you to the joy of life. March 25, 2003 "Dear children! Also today I call you to pray for peace. Pray with the heart, little children, and do not lose hope because God loves His creatures. He desires to save you, one by one, through my coming here. I call you to the way of holiness. Pray, and in prayer you are open to God's will; in this way, in everything you do, you realize God's plan in you and through you. Thank you for having responded to my call."

September 25, 2020 "Dear children! I am with you for so long because God is great in His love and in my presence. I am calling you, little children: return to God and to prayer. May the measure of your [way of] living be love and do not forget, little children, that prayer and fasting work miracles in you and around you. May everything you do be for the glory of God, and then Heaven will fill your heart with joy and you will feel that God loves you and is sending me to save you and the earth on which you live. Thank you for having responded to my call."

March 25, 2022 "Dear children! I am listening to your cry and prayers for peace. For years, Satan has been fighting for war. That is why God sent me among you to guide you on the way of holiness, because humanity is at a crossroad. I am calling you to return to God and to God's Commandments that it may be good for you on earth, and that you may come out of this crisis into which you have entered because you are not listening to God who loves you and desires to save you and lead you to a new life. Thank you for having responded to my call."

Day 6 – Holy Mass on Cross Mountain!

Dear Family of Mary!
On August 6, at 5:00 am, the parish will gather all the young people at the top of Cross Mountain to participate in the final Holy Mass of the Youth Festival. It is a stunning location for Holy Mass. The Priest stands underneath the huge white cross that the Parish erected in 1933 as a memorial of the 1900th anniversary of the Crucifixion of Jesus. There is deep silence as the young people pray. The words of Holy Mass seem to come alive in this setting. The Holy Spirit comes in power! (Mary TV will stream the Mass live. Just go to Marytv.tv and view it on the channel at 5:00 am Medj time!)

Indeed, Our Lady has built the prayer program in Medjugorje around Holy Mass. Every day in Medjugorje, the high point is the Evening Mass in St. James Church or, in the summer, behind the Church around the outdoor altar. She wants the Mass to be our spiritual home. It is during the Mass that Jesus can pour out His Spirit upon us, through the Prayers, the Readings, the Consecration, and Holy Communion! It is indeed our Heavenly Banquet on earth!

And so it is fitting that the last gathering of the Youth Festival is Holy Mass on Cross Mountain.

Here are five messages in which Our Lady speaks to us about Holy Mass. You might use them for meditations between the decades of your Rosary today. They carry heavenly advice!!

Friday, March 30, 1984 – To Jelena:”My children, I wish that the holy Mass be for you the gift of the day. Attend it, wish for it to begin. Jesus gives Himself to you during the Mass. Thus, look forward to that moment when you are cleansed. Pray very much so that the Holy Spirit will renew your parish. If people attend Mass with lukewarmness, they will return to their homes cold, and with an empty heart.”

May 16, 1985
“Dear children! I am calling you to a more active prayer and attendance at Holy Mass. I wish your Mass to be an experience of God. I wish especially to say to the young people: be open to the Holy Spirit because God wishes to draw you to Himself in these days when satan is at work. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

April 3, 1986
“Dear children! I wish to call you to a living of the Holy Mass. There are many of you who have sensed the beauty of the Holy Mass, but there are also those who come unwillingly. I have chosen you, dear children, but Jesus gives you His graces in the Mass. Therefore, consciously live the Holy Mass and let your coming to it be a joyful one. Come to it with love and make the Mass your own. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

April 25, 1988
“Dear children! God wants to make you holy. Therefore, through me He is inviting you to complete surrender. Let holy mass be your life. Understand that the church is God’s palace, the place in which I gather you and want to show you the way to God. Come and pray. Neither look at others nor slander them, but rather, let your life be a testimony on the way of holiness. Churches deserve respect and are set apart as holy because God, who became man, dwells in them day and night. Therefore, little children, believe and pray that the Father increase your faith, and then ask for whatever you need. I am with you, and I am rejoicing because of your conversion, and I am protecting you with my motherly mantle. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

January 25, 1998
“Dear children! Today again I call all of you to prayer. Only with prayer, dear children, will your heart change, become better, and be more sensitive to the Word of God. Little children, do not permit satan to pull you apart and to do with you what he wants. I call you to be responsible and determined and to consecrate each day to God in prayer. May Holy Mass, little children, not be a habit for you, but life. By living Holy Mass each day, you will feel the need for holiness and you will grow in holiness. I am close to you and intercede before God for each of you, so that He may give you strength to change your heart. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

Let us thank the Lord for Holy Mass today! May the Holy Mass be our life!!

Day 5 of the Youth Festival in Medjugorje

Dear Family of Mary!

Yesterday, Day 4, we were blessed with wonderful talks and prayer. The singing was especially animated and beautiful! You could feel the strength of faith and joy in the whole assembly!

It reminded me of this message below. Our Lady has called us to be those who demonstrate and spread love and joy, the very love and joy that we see in the young people! Let this message fill us with hope and purpose:

April 2, 2017

"Dear children,

apostles of my love,

it is up to you to spread the love of my Son

to all those who have not come to know it;

you, the little lights of the world,

whom I am teaching with motherly love

to shine clearly with full brilliance.

Prayer will help you,

because prayer saves you,

prayer saves the world.

Therefore, my children,

pray with words, feelings, merciful love and sacrifice.

My Son has shown you the way -

He who became incarnate

and made of me the first chalice,

with His exalted sacrifice

He has shown you how you need to love.

Therefore, my children,

do not be afraid to speak the truth.

Do not be afraid to change yourself and the world

by spreading love,

by doing everything for my Son to be known and loved

by loving others in Him.

As a mother, I am always with you.

I am imploring my Son to help you

for love to reign in your life -

love that lives,

love that draws,

love which gives life.

I am teaching you such love - pure love.

It is up to you, my apostles,

to recognize it, live it and spread it.

Pray with feeling for your shepherds

so that they can witness my Son with love.

Thank you."

Thank you for responding to Our Lady's call. She is with us in these days with a plan to change the world! Let us stay close to Her side!! Tomorrow is the last full day of the festival!

Dear Family of Mary!

Day 3 of the Youth Festival was just beautiful! The testimonies were very moving. And the prayer and singing were filled with joy! In the evening, there was a candlelight prayer in which all the participants received a candle, and then one by one the candles were lit! It is always moving to see the people in darkness come into the light as the flames are shared, one by one throughout the crowd. Everything that happens has such profound meaning!

I encourage all of you that if you could not watch the events for Day 3 you will watch them in the days ahead on Mary TV! We have an archive just for the youth festival right underneath the Live Channel!

The pastor of the parish, Fr. Zvonimir Pavičić, is the MC for the festival, and he is doing such a beautiful job. He always starts the day with a message from Our Lady!!

Here is the message he shared on the first day, I believe:

November 13, 1986 "Dear children! Today again I am calling you to pray with your whole heart and day by day to change your life. Especially, dear children, I am calling that by your prayers and sacrifices you begin to live in holiness, because I desire that each one of you who has been to this fountain of grace will come to Paradise with the special gift which you shall give me, and that is holiness. Therefore, dear children, pray and daily change your life in order to become fully holy. I shall always be close to you. Thank you for having responded to my call."

The call to holiness is central to Our Lady's plan for us. With holiness we can overcome all difficulties and find our way into peace. Sin interrupts everything and creates havoc. Peace comes hand in hand with holiness. But holiness is a daily project, actually minute by minute, since we must constantly choose it. If we do not choose it, we will lose our way very quickly in our terribly dangerous world.

And so Our Lady says to us: "Therefore, dear children, pray and daily change your life in order to become fully holy." She knows the process. It is day by day!! But with Our Lady by our side, we can do it!!

God bless us all! With a Mother like Our Lady, we have great hope of attaining holiness! One day at a time!

Sharing Some Devastating News and Asking for Prayers and Help

Dear Friends,

As always, the past couple of months have been active and eventful here at Mary's Shelter VA. We have had so much to celebrate and countless blessings for which we are deeply grateful.

At the same time, our community has experienced an unimaginable and heartbreaking loss that we feel compelled to share with you.

One of our incredibly loving mothers just recently faced an unimaginable tragedy when her two-year-old son was rushed to the hospital after suffering multiple seizures. He was transferred to Children's Hospital, where he received exceptional care from a dedicated and caring medical team. Despite every effort, his precious life could not be saved.

His mother is now navigating the overwhelming grief of losing her beloved son while also facing the unexpected financial burdens that accompany such a devastating loss.

We ask first and foremost for your prayers for this grieving family. If you feel called to help, we also invite you to make a donation to assist with the funeral and other related expenses during this incredibly difficult time. No gift is too small, and every act of generosity will be a meaningful blessing.

Dear Family of Mary!

On August 1, 2026, at the opening ceremony of the Youth Festival, Archbishop Cavalli delivered a message from Pope Leo to the participants of the Youth Festival in Medjugorje! It is simple and beautiful! A good way to begin this holy week of prayer, catechesis, the Sacraments and pure joy!

Here is the message from Pope Leo to the participants of the Youth Festival:

Pope Leo sends his greeting to all participants of the Youth Festival in Medjugorje! He urges them to return to the Fountain, that is to return to Christ, the Source of a New Life and the Advent of Joy!

He, therefore, invites them to rediscover through prayer, listening to the Word of God, and through the Sacraments, the beauty of a personal encounter with the Lord, who quenches every heart and gives the strength to always begin anew.

His Holiness encourages young people to sincerely seek the Truth that sets them free, without being seduced by the illusions of fleeting happiness.

In following Jesus, each person can embrace, even amongst difficult questions and the restlessness of the heart, as an opportunity for discernment and growth in faith.

The Holy Father also urges young people to let themselves be led by the Holy Spirit, and to entrust themselves to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church, so that they may become shining witnesses of the Gospel, promoters of the Good News, Fraternity, and Builders of Peace in society.

Assuring them of His remembrance in prayer, the Supreme Pontif invokes upon all an abundance of Divine Grace, heartily imparting His Apostolic Blessing.

Your hearts, through my maternal Heart, I desire to commend to the Heart of my Son Jesus, so that He, the Risen One, may reign in you and joy may begin to reign in you and around you. The 37th Youth Festival in Medjugorje begins tomorrow night!! For 6 days, the young people from around the world will gather around St. James Church to pray, to attend Daily Mass, to listen to talks by people who love Jesus and Mary, and to sing and dance and be joyous!! These 6 days are filled with grace!!

Mary TV will stream the entire program to you, live each day. Between sessions, Mary TV will interview the young people and gather testimonies! And if you miss a session, it will be archived on our website. Please pray for our team, that they will be blessed and strong to do this task! Simply go to our website and click on the Channel at the top of the home page. It will all be there.

Also, there will be a special time of prayer on Apparition Hill tonight (July 31)! Ivan has invited all to come and pray the Rosary at 9:00 pm Medj time (3:00 pm EDT)! And at 10:00 pm there will be an apparition of Our Lady! Again, Mary TV will stream this prayer time, live, on our channel.

Over the years Our Lady has called us to prayerfully read the Sacred Scripture, especially in our families. It is clear that she wants us to realize that we cannot live our faith, if we are not grounded in the Scriptures. Why? Because the world around us wants to capture our imaginations and our hearts in order to lead us away from God. We are in great danger in this world, if our thoughts, our memories, our imaginations, and our desires are not grounded in God. And this can only happen if we take in the inspired words of the Scriptures on a daily basis, in order to give us the truth about ourselves, our lives, our futures, our goals, and our desires. Scripture is the antidote to the world! It wakes us up to God's plan for our lives and the great good which awaits us in God.

Scripture is also the antidote to the lies of Satan. Scripture opens us up to Truth!

To amplify the July 25, 2026 message, here are three more messages in which Our Lady calls us to Scripture. Let's pray over them and allow Our Lady and the Holy Spirit to teach us about Scripture.

January 25, 2014 "Dear children! Pray, pray, pray for the radiance of your prayer to have an influence on those whom you meet. Put the Sacred Scripture in a visible place in your families and read it, so that the words of peace may begin to flow in your hearts. I am praying with you and for you, little children, that from day to day you may become still more open to God's will. Thank you for having responded to my call."

June 25, 2024 "Dear children! I rejoice with you and thank God for permitting me to be with you, to lead you and love you. Little children, peace is in danger and the family is under attack. I am calling you, little children: return to prayer in the family. Put Sacred Scripture in a visible place and read it every day. Love God above all that it may be good for you on earth. Thank you for having responded to my call."

Holy Thursday, April 19, 1984

To Jelena:

"I'm going to reveal a spiritual secret to you: if you want to be stronger than evil, make yourself a plan of personal prayer. Take a certain time in the morning, read a text from Holy Scripture, anchor the Divine word in your heart, and strive to live it during the day, particularly during the moment of trials. In this way, you will be stronger than evil."

I know we are busy people. It is hard to set time aside for reading the Bible. But if we can manage to do it faithfully for a few days or weeks, we may see the change in our mental health, our emotional strength and vigor, and our spiritual awareness. Let's give it a try!!

Today is the Memorial of Saints Martha, Mary, and Lazarus! Two sisters and a brother, all saints and all celebrated on the same day!! I love it!!

In her message to us, Our Lady asked us to do this very simple but very important thing:
“Little children, place the Sacred Scripture in a visible place in your family and read it, so that it may be an encouragement for you to conversion and a new life…”

When I read this for the first time, I immediately knew I had to do exactly what she said. So yesterday I found a book holder that I had stored away and put it on a little table in our sitting area, with our favorite Bible displayed on it! I am going to open the Bible to the Gospel reading for each day so we can read it often! I am sure it will be an encouragement for us for conversion and a new life!!

Well, today’s Gospel is one of those readings that really do change you! John 11:19-27. Martha greets Jesus, who has come far too late to help Lazarus, who has died. But her faith in Jesus is not dimmed in the least. She believes that whatever Jesus asks of the Father will be done!! Here is the Gospel Reading:

John 11:19-27Many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to comfort them about their brother [Lazarus, who had died]. When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went to meet him; but Mary sat at home. Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But even now I know that whatever you ask of God, God will give you.” Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him, “I know he will rise, in the resurrection on the last day.” Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live, and anyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?” She said to him, “Yes, Lord. I have come to believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, the one who is coming into the world.” The Gospel of the Lord.

All day long, may we say to Jesus, “Yes, Lord. I have come to believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, the one who is coming into the world.” Martha was truly convinced that Jesus was the Son of God, and this deep faith had changed her completely. We know that Jesus does raise Lazarus from the dead, in a dramatic and public way!! But Martha believed it before she saw it. She is an example for us all! May we believe as Martha believed!!

May our faith grow and grow as we meditate on the words of Sacred Scripture. We need this strength in these days!!

Medjugorje parish condemns vandalism, urges prayer and forgiveness

After an image of Our Lady was defaced and the outdoor altar of St. James Church set alight, the parish of Medjugorje in Bosnia and Herzegovina urges the faithful not to repay evil with evil.

The parish of Medjugorje has condemned acts of vandalism that damaged several of its places of prayer overnight and has invited the faithful to respond with “prayer, fasting, and forgiveness.”

“It is with great sadness that we received the news of the act of vandalism,” the Medjugorje Parish Office said in a statement on Tuesday.

It added that cleaning and repairs began immediately so the affected areas could once again be properly prepared for prayer.

The parish thanked everyone assisting with the work, saying their efforts were helping the shrine to remain “a place of encounter with God, a place of peace.”

The Blessed Virgin Mary is honored as Queen of Peace at the Shrine in Medjugorje.

Rather than responding with anger, the parish urged Catholics to pray for those responsible.

“We pray for the conversion of the hearts of those who committed this act,” it said, asking that the Lord may touch them with His grace and lead them on the path of goodness.

The parish also appealed for peace in every human heart. It encouraged the faithful “not to return evil for evil,” but to bear witness through our lives to love, forgiveness, and hope.

Vandalism and fire

Police in Bosnia and Herzegovina received the first report at about 4:30 a.m., after the face and hands of the image of Our Lady on Apparition Hill, or Podbrdo, were found covered in black paint and offensive messages were discovered nearby.

About half an hour later, officers were informed of a fire at the outdoor altar of St. James Church.

Surveillance footage reportedly showed a man pouring a liquid, believed to be petrol, over the altar before setting it alight. The fire was quickly extinguished.

A banner in Polish also named six people associated with the alleged apparitions first reported in 1981 and accused them of deception.

Police later arrested a man in the Ljubuški area on suspicion of involvement in the incidents. His identity, nationality, and other personal details have not been released.

Investigators are working to establish the motive and determine whether the suspect was connected with all the acts recorded in Medjugorje.

Shrine remains open

In the statement, the parish stressed that the shrine remains open to all pilgrims and that its regular prayer program is continuing. The affected areas are being cleaned and restored as quickly as possible.

In September 2024, the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, with the approval of Pope Francis, issued a nihil obstat regarding the spiritual experience connected with Medjugorje.

The decision recognized the positive spiritual fruits associated with the shrine and permitted public devotion, without making a declaration on the supernatural character of the reported apparitions.

Little children, place the Sacred Scripture in a visible place in your family and read it, so that it may be an encouragement for you to conversion and a new life; because Satan is strong and seduces hearts. Your hearts, through my maternal Heart, I desire to commend to the Heart of my Son Jesus, so that He, the Risen One, may reign in you and joy may begin to reign in you and around you. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (With Ecclesiastical approval)

Our Lady opened the July 25, 2026 Message with this simple sentence:

“Dear children! While darkness and peacelessness rule in many hearts, you, little children, be prayer and my extended hands of love."

With these words, She places the two options we have in life. We can be dominated by the darkness of evil and the resulting lack of peace, or we can be gently ruled by prayer and Our Lady's extended hands of love. It is our choice!

In the Magnificat, the Meditation for today is from Dom Hubert van Zeller, O.S.B.

He writes:

"People who allow the evil which is in the world to dominate their horizon either become fascinated by it and plunge in or are disgusted by it and made miserable. The horizon does not have to be crowded with evils, and though it would be absurd to pretend that sin was really not very widespread after all, it would be equally absurd to see it everywhere and to conclude that there was no longer any good. Sin, temptation, suffering, disaster, cruelty, war: these things hit the headlines because they possess greater sensation-content than generosity, justice, order, kindness, truth, peace. It is for the Christian to look squarely at the first list in a spirit of faith and penitence, and confidently at the second in the knowledge that he can make his own contribution to the sum of good represented there." (Dom Hubert van Zeller, o.s.b. Christian Classics, Notre Dame IN.)

Truly, we have been given the best portion as Christians. We have Jesus to show us the way of life, and to give us all the graces we need to go on that way. And we have Our Lady, who is the best of Mother's and guides our steps gently along the path of prayer with her extended hands of love!

Thank you, Jesus! Thank you, Mary! We will follow you to life!

In the first reading today from the Book of Micah, we hear these famous words:

We hear these words and long to live them. But as we all know it is not so easy. The saints are our guides in this task. But their witness shows how difficult it can be. Our Lady is the best guide to this holy way life!!

She calls us to "love goodness..."

October 2, 2011 "Dear children; Also today my motherly heart calls you to prayer, to your personal relationship with God the Father, to the joy of prayer in Him. God the Father is not far away from you and He is not unknown to you. He revealed Himself to you through my Son and gave you Life that is my Son. Therefore, my children, do not give in to temptations that want to separate you from God the Father. Pray! Do not attempt to have families and societies without Him. Pray! Pray that your hearts may be flooded with the goodness which comes only from my Son, Who is sincere goodness. Only hearts filled with goodness can comprehend and accept God the Father. And she calls us to: "walk humbly with your God."

July 2, 2014 "Dear children, I, the mother of all of you gathered here and the mother of the entire world, am blessing you with a motherly blessing and call you to set out on the way of humility. That way leads to the coming to know the love of my Son. My Son is almighty, He is in everything. If you, my children, do not become cognizant of this, then darkness/blindness rule in your soul. Only humility can heal you. My children, I always lived humbly, courageously and in hope. I knew, I became cognizant that God is in us and we are in God. I am asking the same of you. I desire for all of you to be with me in eternity, because you are a part of me. I will help you on your way. My love will envelop you like a mantle and make of you apostles of my light - of God's light. With the love that comes forth from humility you will bring light to where darkness/blindness rule. You will be bringing my Son who is the light of the world. I am always alongside your shepherds and I pray that they may always be an example of humility for you... Thank you."

The way of humility and meekness...

The Gospel reading for today is very short, and to the point. Jesus calls us to a special kind of holiness...meekness.

Matthew 11:28-30

Jesus said: "Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light."

The virtue of Meekness is often misunderstood. We can assume that someone who is meek is also weak. They let themselves be walked all over. But that is not the Biblical meaning. Here is a good definition from Bible Hub:

"Meekness, as portrayed in the Bible, involves a posture of humility, gentleness, and patient reliance on God. It is neither mere passivity nor timidity. Rather, it is power under control-an inner strength that entrusts personal rights to God rather than demanding them. The Old Testament frequently captures the Hebrew term often translated as “afflicted,” “humble,” or “meek” (e.g., ‘anav in Hebrew), conveying a person who willingly yields to God’s authority. In the New Testament, the Greek word “praus” highlights a quiet, humble disposition rooted in faith, not fear." (How does the Bible define and value meekness?)

A good analogy is that of a strong horse that is "meeked". He has great power, but is under the gentle control of his master, and allows himself to be guided and led by his master. Such a horse would have been a great asset in battle, as he would remain under his master's guidance no matter what. Strength under control.

Jesus said in the Beatitudes: "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth!" Mt 5:5

Certainly, the meek are not the weak, but the strong who submit all to the Lord and follow Him! They will endure, and remain faithful to the Lord, who will prosper them.

Our Lady calls us to be meek in several messages. Here is one:

July 2, 2007 "Dear children! In the great love of God, I come to you today to lead you on the way of humility and meekness. The first station on that way, my children, is confession. Reject your arrogance and kneel down before my Son. Comprehend, my children, that you have nothing and you can do nothing. The only thing that you have and that you possess is sin... Be cleansed and accept meekness and humility. My Son could have won with strength, but He chose meekness, humility and love. Follow my Son and give me your hands so that, together, we may climb the mountain and win. Thank you."

Jesus is our best example of meekness. He walked throughout Judea, teaching and healing His people, without ever claiming them as was His right to do! He allowed himself to be rejected, condemned, flogged, paraded throughout Jerusalem, and crucified for our sake. He had the power to stop it all but chose to walk that road for us. His was great power under control. And He won our salvation through his meekness and faithfulness to the Father's plan.

Our Lady also is meek. She comes to us every day in Medjugorje, to meet us there and bless us and teach us and guide us to her Son, no matter how stubborn we might be. She is strength in control, just like Jesus! May we follow her into life!

Personal unity with the Father...

Dear Family of Mary!

“Dear children! Rejoice with me because the Most High permits me to be with you, to lead you to Him Who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Rejoice, little children, and be joyful also in difficulties and you will have the strength, because you will be aware that you are transient, and you will know to offer everything to God. That is why, do not forget: I am your Mother and I love you. Thank you for having responded to my call." (With Ecclesiastical approval)

Sometimes the Lord asks difficult things of us. In His great mercy and wisdom, He knows what is best for us. These words from Jesus are just such words, difficult by full of wisdom:

"Jesus said to His apostles: 'Do not think that I have come to bring peace upon the earth. I have come to bring not peace but the sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and one's enemies will be those of his household.

"Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worth of me; and whoever does not take up his cross and follow after me is not worth of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it..." (Mt 10: 34-39)

These are hard words. But not impossible. Jesus makes it clear that the meaning of our lives is found in Him alone. No one else can give us that meaning. No one else can be our "end-all and be-all". There is a hierarchy of importance and power. And it is our God who is our future and our goal!

This personal relationship with the Lord is so amazing, so incredible! To think that our Creator and Lord would want a personal relationship with each one of us blows my mind. He loves each one of us, uniquely! And His call is our all!

Here are two messages in which Our Lady calls us to the ultimate relationship with Jesus. Let's allow Our Lady to guide us into that ultimate relationship with our God!!!

April 2, 2011 "Dear children; With motherly love I desire to open the heart of each of you and to teach you personal unity with the Father. To accept this, you must comprehend that you are important to God and that He is calling you individually. You must comprehend that your prayer is a conversation of a child with the Father; that love is the way by which you must set out - love for God and for your neighbor. That is, my children, the love that has no boundaries. That is the love that emanates from truth and goes to the end. Follow me, my children, so that also others, in recognizing the truth and love in you, may follow you. Thank you."

Our Lady calls us to that "personal unity with the Father!!" That is exactly what Jesus is teaching us in the Gospel. We need to have a personal relationship with the Lord that is #1 in our lives!!

August 2, 2010 "Dear children! Today I call you, together with me, to begin to build the Kingdom of Heaven in your hearts; that you may forget that what is personal and, led by the example of my Son, think of what is of God. What does He desire of you? Do not permit satan to open the paths of earthly happiness, the paths without my Son. My children, they are false and last a short while. My Son exists. I offer you eternal happiness and peace and unity with my Son, with God; I offer you the Kingdom of God. Thank you."

In this message Our Lady calls us to live a life totally focused on God. We need to desire what God desires for us! This will entail a letting go of earthly desires that conflict with God's plan for us. She is offering us something unimaginable:

"I offer you eternal happiness and peace and unity with my Son, with God; I offer you the Kingdom of God."

God bless us all. May we choose to put God first in our lives every moment!

Dear Family of Mary!

I find it helpful sometimes to break down Our Lady's message, one phrase at a time so that I can take it in little by little. This is one of those messages. Let's try it!

"Dear children!" - Our Lady almost always greets us in this manner. "Dear children!" It is such an honor to be called her children. She definitely claims us as her children. She loves each one of us as her child. She once said to us:

August 25, 2025 "Dear children, my little children, my beloved ones; you are chosen because you have responded, you have put into practice my instructions and love God above all else..."

Our Lady sees us as her special children, even "her beloved ones," because we have responded to her call. We have listened to her and tried to follow her. She can count on us!

But let's listen to the rest of that message!

"Therefore, little children, pray with all your heart that my words may be realized. Fast, sacrifice yourselves, love out of love for God Who created you, and be, little children, my extended hands to this world that has not come to know the God of love. Thank you for having responded to my call." (With Ecclesiastical approval)

We can see that being claimed as Our Lady's children has a special onus upon it. We are claimed as her own little ones, and so we must try to live our lives with her and for her!! "Fast, sacrifice yourselves, love out of love for God Who created you..." Our Mom needs us! She needs us to offer our lives out of love for God, so that so many others may be saved.

But she dosen't stop there. She continues: "and be, little children, my extended hands to this world that has not come to know the God of love."

I guess it is no small thing that Our Lady greets us "Dear Children!" Being her children means that we are part of her family...which means we have work to do! We are called to be her "extended hands"! This is such an honor. We can help Our Mother to love her children all over the world! Thanks be to God!!!

2. Healing from Anxiety!

Daniela is the wife of Francesco Vaiasuso, a man who suffered for years from demonic possession (see his book: "My diabolic possession: How I was delivered from 27 legions of demons" PS1) Given the increase in mental health issues caused by fear, I asked Daniela to share with us some key points from her personal experience…

“When the signs of demonic possession manifested in Francesco, he suffered physically while I was attacked with intrusive thoughts. Seeing my husband in this state filled me with worry; the devil tormented me from within with obsessive thoughts. In fact, when the demonic manifestations ceased, I couldn’t stop thinking about those voices, those horrible cries. These obsessive thoughts haunted me. They prevented me from living my daily life; I was paralyzed and unable to complete my daily tasks.

I often found myself thinking about the future: what would my life be like? I thought I would be a failure because I couldn't achieve my goals. In such a distressing state, I saw my future as bleak, with no way out.

That's when I understood I needed to work on myself: to stop these thoughts and live in the present moment, to welcome what the Lord was giving to me in the present. So, I learned to pray alongside Francesco when he was very ill and to live a perfectly normal life when he was delivered. I then desired with all my being to live in the present moment and live my daily life: work, cook, clean, go out, have pizza with friends... Above all, I needed to reject those thoughts so they wouldn't turn me to the past or the future! The memory of the past threw me into anguish, and the thought of the future made me very anxious.

Many people have these kinds of obsessive thoughts! Their minds constantly oscillate between the past and the future, thereby escaping the present moment. I understood that the devil wanted to make me wander between the anguish of the past and worry about the future. During those years, Francesco and I welcomed and listened to the suffering and fears of many people.

We now understand that the key to peace is to live in the present moment, in the reality of today. This is the only moment that truly belongs to us! The past is gone; we cannot change it, so there is no point living with guilt. The future does not belong to us; we do not know what it will hold. It is in God's hands, and we trust in Him. Our Creator gives us the spiritual graces we need.

With the Lord, there is no problem we cannot face, even when everything seems bleak: it is at that moment that grace acts, I am a witness to it. In the most terrible moments of Francesco's demonic possession, I never lost hope, and that was my strength. Through Baptism, we have all received this strength! We all have these seeds of peace within us; it is for us to make them bear fruit so that we can face all of life's trials, without exception”.

Praise God that Daniela was able to get through this spiritual attack in this way. I do understand that for some people therapy is needed as the intrusive thoughts can be rooted in past trauma. But even where this is the case, once those psychological barriers have come down, God’s grace is waiting there to heal you completely!

3.⁠ ⁠Saint Faustina had already expressed this…

“When I look into the future, I am frightened,

But why plunge into the future? Only the present moment is precious to me, As the future may never enter my soul at all. It is no longer in my power to change, correct or add to the past; For neither sages nor prophets could do that. And so, what the past has embraced I must entrust to God. O present moment, you belong to me, whole and entire. I desire to use you as best I can. And although I am weak and small, you grant me the grace of your omnipotence. And so, trusting in Your mercy, I walk through life like a little child, offering You each day this heart. Burning with love for Your greater glory." (St Faustina Diary, §2].

Dear friends, the conclusion is clear: TRUST in God saves us and heals us from the terrible afflictions of anguish and anxiety. Trust in God establishes peace in our hearts and minds.

4. The 45th Anniversary of the Apparitions is approaching (June 25th)!

Joy fills our hearts as the Blessed Virgin Mary invites us once again this year to join her on Podbrdo Hill for the novena from June 16th to 25th. The Rosary will begin at 10:00 PM, and the visionary, Marija, will receive the apparition at 11:00 PM, near the white statue. Those who are not present in Medjugorje can pray in communion with us and follow these nine evenings live via Mary TV (link: www.marytv.tv). Also on Facebook, live from 10:00 PM.

Let us thank our Heavenly Mother who once again expresses her maternal love! See how much she loves us and how close she is to us! Let us pray this novena with all our hearts to thank her for coming for so many years and for the many heavenly blessings and favors! Let us implore her fervently for peace! More than ever, in these troubled times, she relies on us!

Here is what the visionary, Marija, said after the apparition of June 16th, the first day of the novena:

"At the moment of the apparition when Our Lady came, I recommended to Our Lady all of us, all our intentions, everything that we have in our hearts. And all the people that we recommended in our prayers.

Our Lady looked over us all, extended her hands over us, and prayed for a long time over all of us. She prayed in her motherly Aramaic language.

Then She told us that She had homework for us tomorrow: "to spend your day, as much as possible, in prayer."

And then she smiled, extended her hand in the Sign of the Cross and blessed us, and went to Heaven."

To my knowledge, this is the first time Our Lady has asked us all to spend an entire day in prayer. If she is asking us for such a demanding effort, I think she needs it to protect us from something she sees that we cannot.

Here is the message Our Lady gave us on the second day, June 17: to be grateful for life, to protect life and to give thanks for everything that we experienced in our life, that God has given us during our lifetime.

Here is the message she gave us on the third day, June 18: To pray for all our deceased and for our entire lineage, that Our Lord may free us from every evil, from all evil that our relatives have done. That through our prayer, our penance, we may ask for the grace that our ancestors may come out of Purgatory and go to Heaven.

We are drawing closer to the 45th Anniversary of Our Lady's Apparitions in Medjugorje! Today the parish begins their climb up Apparition Hill each day for 9 days before the Anniversary.

Mary TV will stream this Novena climb live, each day from June 15 to June 23 on the Channel, beginning at 4:00 pm Medjugorje time/10:00 am EDT, US)

Because the climb is at the usual time for our Daily Rosary with Denis and Cathy, we will move our rosary time to 3:00 pm Medj time/ 9:00 am EDT USA.

Our Lady told us on June 25, 2004: "Prayer groups are powerful, and through them I can see, little children, that the Holy Spirit is at work in the world." Our Lady speaks to us today about the importance of living her messages! When she gave them to us, she had been coming every day for 17 to 19 years. And she was as intense and purposeful as when she first began!! She tells us that her messages are very important. They are a gift for our lives, and for all those we meet. They also reveal to us the way to Heaven! Truly she has come to lead us there!

Prayerfully receive these three messages! They are a gift from Heaven!

Our three messages for today give us a glimpse into Our Lady's heart. She tells us that she is happy, but a little sad. Isn't that so like a mother!! She loves us each so very much, that even the smallest problem with one of her children causes her sorrow.

She loves us so much! May her words of love sink deeply into our hearts, bringing us the security and hope of beloved children:

June 25, 1992 "Dear children! Today I am happy, even if in my heart there is still a little sadness for all those who have started on this path and then have left it. My presence here is to take you on a new path, the path to salvation. This is why I call you, day after day to conversion. But if you do not pray, you cannot say that you are on the way to being converted. I pray for you and I intercede to God for peace; first peace in your hearts and also peace around you, so that God may be your peace. Thank you for having responded to my call."

But you I therefore call and ask that by your lives and by your daily living you witness my presence. If you pray, God will help you to discover the true reason for my coming.
