I'm at work right now. I shouldn't be on here at all lol but here I am hehe. Just thought I'd share some thoughts.

Within this last year, a lot has changed around me. Blogging and Youtube is not my job. Repeat, it is not my job. I do it for fun. I do it when I have free time, I do it because I liiiiike it. It's fun! But it can be very very time consuming at the same time. Time that I can't seem to find at all right now :( and when I do it's not like I can blog anyway because of my broken ass laptop. I threw it away I don't even wanna bother fixing it. Stupid piece of shit. I keep having to fix my car too...and you know them things called bills? Life. I have no idea how I'm living without a laptop honestly. And I do miss you all. I get messages all the time and it makes me really happy but sad at the same time because I literally can't DO anything about it at the moment. I will get back to it though. Fo shizzle. I just have to work all the friggn time and I'm always on the move. Speaking of moving, I'm moving into my new apt in less than 2 weeks :D !!! anyway~ I WILL get back into it because I love doing it as a hobby. I haven't even bought makeup in like a year..how sad is that? All I use is maybelline and milani or wetnwild crap too. I'm a druggy now D: lol

It ain't that bad though. Could be worse. It could dollar store makeup.

Oh yeah, and about death on the rocks? I don't want to blog here anymore. I don't want the whole "le midge/ midget" thing. Why? The names from high school. I've grown from that. I just can't have people call me that anymore.

My beloved ex used to call me midget that's why. OK?! ok. And I say beloved with a sense of respect. Don't get it twisted.

I didn't say I'd stop blogging though! I'll start a new blog. A new and improved one. I already have actually, I just haven't posted anything in it. I refuse to until I can get my camera pics uploaded. I have soooo many pictures that need to be looked at. I love taking pics and I haven't been able to. I didn't even take ONE picture on my birthday, can you believe that?!?!?!?! So yeah, I feel like a blog post without pictures just..sucks. This blog and midgetmakeup is just...ughh I don't want to use the name anymore. Well the blog doesn't bother me it's more midgetmakeup but I want my blog and youtube name to be the same now. It really is the name. It's a personal choice. I know a lot of you won't understand and you really don't have to. I also don't care if you understand or not because I'm going to do it regardless. Thanks. It was nice blogging here and uploading videos on midgetmakeup but err...time to grow up a lil for me :) So peace out and I will chat with you all later in the new one. I will let yall know what it is soon.

I think it's mild enough to wear during the day because it's not a bright crazy blue so if you're uncomfortable using super bright colors during the day or trying to get INTO color, this shade is a pretty good way to start. I couldn't get the pictures to turn out like this looked in real life. Bleh. It was a dark purple with gold flecks, then a slate blue with gold, fading off to a dirty taupe color like mac's satin taupe. It looks like just a charcoal silver in the pics but I promise it's not! I will do a review on the michael todd cosmetics with swatches later with detailed pics. Hope you like this look! I haven't done a dark smokey look in a long time.

Review: Loreal Studio Secrets Color Corrector

I saw these primers at the regular old drugstore and thought HMM ooouuu a primer from Loreal! I don't think I've seen one that's widely available that is "color correcting".

The Idea:
They have 3 shades (maybe more, I'm not sure). One that looks pinkish for light skin, an orangey one for medium-dark skin, and one that's green for people who have extra redness on their skin. This is from their "Professional Line" so the product quality is supposed to be elite compared to what they've been marketing normally.

My Idea:
I got the medium-dark primer along with the green. I was going to put the medium one to even out my face then green on places where I had acne marks to counteract the redness.

Price:
12.95 at Rite Aid (available at most supermarkets or drugstores in the US)
-expensive for ds brand but it means it can go on sale one day

Size:
.68 FL
-you want a larger sized bottle for a primer
-this is too small of a size for something to be used often
-it's ok for me because I don't use foundation everyday but a lot of people do this size won't last them too long

Texture:
-liquid/runny and light
-not gel, not cream, like a smooth liquid moisturizer
-satin finish, not sparkly but not matte
-takes a while to blend in perfectly

Appearance:
-"orange" one gives a tanned look all over skin (I'm nc33-37 in mac)
-green one stays a hint of green and leaves you with a noticeable white cast even after blending

Medium "Orange Even Skintone" Primer

Cons
-small size, expensive
-doesn't control oil, reduce appearance of pores
-leaves orange cast on face
-made face appear cakey
-hard to blend
-skin looks better without it

Pros
-it is light

yo this product kinda sucks

Green Anti-Redness Primer

Cons
-leaves face/areas very pale after blending
-small, expensive
-barely works no oil control no making skin look prepped for foundation really

Pros
-good for people who have very red cheeks, they can apply a thin layer only where needed
-light

This one is a little better but it still kinda sucks.

I wouldn't buy either of them again. I'd save my money for a primer from a high end store.

Bad Bad Skin

I recorded 2 summer related tutorials right. Right. I just had to edit em and watermark my pics. Then as I was going through my pictures AND video I was very grossed out.

By my skin eww!!!

It's been going crazy since the heat set in. Ahh! I have very oily skin acne prone skin. I don't think I've ever been without acne related issues for over 7 years now. Either I have a pimple present or I have scars from before. I have olive toned skin and my hyper-pigmentation is bad, my scars last for like 6 months. Before either can go away completely something new happens. In videos I get a lot of compliments on my skin and how "flawless" it looks. And I keep telling you guys it's the camera and lighting. The thing is, I DON'T WANT to show you when I have bad skin, who would? We try to cover up blemishes and unsightly deformations on it from the people we see everyday so why the hell would I want to flaunt a close up of my bad skin on the world wide web? Nothanks.

I have very oily skin but now it's getting flaky! I didn't add anything new to my routine but looks like I need to have some changes. I haven't been taking any medications or changed my diet. I should though...but taco bell has delicious chaluuupas that I can't resist! I don't know how to deal with such flakiness. In the winter time I have combination skin because parts will be normal and some parts oily and the ocaaassional random lil dry spot but nothing compared to this! My nose, forehead, and cheeks are soo flaky! I exfoliated and it made it worse =[

BTW a lot of you ask me what foundation (liquid) I use everyday.

I DO NOT USE FOUNDATION EVERYDAY.

It is too heavy for me and I always get a zit or something from it. I guess my skin might be a little sensitive to it. I put on concealer on my spots and under my eyes and a light dust of powder on my face. By light I mean I don't buff in anything, I use a large fluffy brush.

So yeah...ew...
I should not be smiling.

I made this post to ask you guys for suggestions. Please don't recommend ann sort of makeup. If what's underneath isn't doing so hot, what goes on top isn't going to really make a difference to me. I want to look for skin care items. I trust yall will suggest only good things and all the type of items at the stores are confusing me haha. There are soo many! I'm open to drugstore or department store or even international sites. I've never had dry or such sensitive skin so I don't know what exactly to go for. If you can try to go for items that are not too greasy and oil free. What about a vitamin that's perhaps good for the skin. Ye? Know of any that helped you out?

Makeup Toot: Fresh Spring Eyes

A tutoooorial yay! A fresh bright eyed look. I think it looks lovely with blue eyes so I wore my pretty lenses :) Mineral Magic Cosmetics was used to achieve this and I just say...it's def one of the smoothest mineral makeups I've ever used. It's pigmented and had very little fall out. It glides on smooth and isn't flakey and dusty. Matte eyeshadows in general get chalky especially if it's WHITE but dang yo. I'm impressed. Verrry nice.

This look is very simple to do and can be worn nice during the day or even night if you're not a fan of dark heavy makeup on the eyes. It has just enough color to keep it lookin so fresh and so clean cleeeean. I hope you liked this look!

Review: My Spring It

I was lucky enough to try out My Spring It...so this is my review! I've been playing around with this for a few good months so I think I know how it works by now.

What is it?
Facial Hair Removal System

What is it reeeeeally?
A giant Qtip made of a spring and plastic ends.

Does it work? YUP!
Will I want to use it in the long run? No...why?

At first I thought it was nifty! does anyone even use that word anymore? I actually got it right after I saw Pursebuzz on youtube do a review on it. If you find that video you'll notice that this was a long time ago...yeah I've had this for that long. My main reason I wouldn't get it even if it does work is because it's a lil too slow for me when it pulls the hairs out. I think it works fantastic on the area above the brows and on cheeks or jawline. The only thing is, I don't really even have hair there to worry about. Like 2 or 3 visible and I'd rather just pluck it off. I find this pretty painful on the upperlip and chin area. I can take pain yo but I donno. With waxing you just rip the whole thing off at one time, with this you have to sloooowly work your way around it and you can FEEL the hair ripping out. No thank you :)

Review: Revlon Photo Ready Foundation on Oily Skin

So...after hearing all the reviews on this I haaad to go try it out and see for myself what all the buzz was about. Seemed like people either loved it or they didn't really like it and mixed with with their ColorStay foundation to love it. Let me just say that I don't own Revlon's ColorStay foundation and I don't ever plan on getting it because once I heard it was thicker than MAC's Studio Fix Fluid I was like...heeelllll nawww.

I grade things...I don't get numbers mkay.

Cost: A
I don't think paying $9-$14 for a damn good drugstore foundation is bad at all.

Color Variety: C overall *but* A for me
There aren't many shades at all, I only saw like 8 maybe but luckily it had my exact shade! I got 006 Medium Beige.

Application: B
Not thick, not chunky and it's smooth and just fluid enough and very blendable. It's dewy without looking greasy, I have oily skin so anything slightly dewy turns out to be a disaster.

Overall: A!

I prefer this over my MUFE HD foundation. YEAH! There are tiny shimmers in it (sooo tiny) but you can't even see them from the outside of the bottle. I don't like that it has spf because that will give a white cast in pictures but it's actually not that strong as you will see in my pics. It only sparkles a tiny bit when I'm out in the blazing sun but beauuutiful with indoor or normal lighting. Photographs and records well for pictures and videos. Yay! It's the best liquid foundation I've ever tried. Ze end.

There's a Jessi's Girl nail polish this color I think, it's that superduper bright.
It kinda hurts my eyes haha.

Le review: Split-Ender Maxi Kit (no more split ends?!)

Got split ends? Ugh who doesn't. I get them loads because I loooove me a super layered look and I like the ends to be razored off too at places. Doing that (razoring ends) is pretty bad for your hair....cuz it gives you split ends quicker =/ eek!

How I took care of split ends before:

I kinda hate going to the hair stylist for TRIMS because they just cut too much off. A trim = 1.5 inches to most of them and when you're trying to grow out your hair getting that much taken off a 3 months of work people!! Hair grows about .5 inches a month. So as many of you know I cut my hair myself for a long time. Cutting layers all around my head is not an issue for me because they can be crooked and still look ok. Getting the ends trimmed was an issue, specially at the very ends because I didn't want it to look jacked up and uneven. It would take me like an hour plus a lil more and I had to do it pretty slowly. Boo.

Noooow:

I take little thin pieces of hair of like .5 to 1 inch sections and run it through the Splitender and walaaa in 30ish minutes I'm done giving my whole head a trim. Woot! I have thin hair yall so if you have thick bushy crazy woman hair, or just normal thick hair haha it might take you a little bit longer. If you have short hair I think it will take you the same amount of time as me or less =]

I take strips of hair this big. It looks thick but it's very thin on the side.
Make sure to run each piece the same number of times all throughout your head.
Remember a tiny bit IS cut off at the ends.
I usually run it 2-3 times each piece.

This is all the hair trimmed from my whole head! lol
So sad...how little hair I have haha.
Sometimes I have more but never less than this.

This thing has some major PROS and CONS. Darn!

Pros:

Does get rid of split ends (not every single one but neither does the hair dresser unless you get a good inch cut off)
Easy to use, like a hair straightener
Easy to use IF you read the instructions!! (Just watch a how to video if you're visual like me ^_^)
Takes only 1/4 - 1/8 of an inch off
You can do it at home
Takes little time, waaay less than at the salon. No waiting. No nothing. Woot!
Comes with a comb/pick, cleaning brush, alligator clip, and Silk Therapy ( I LOVE!!!!!! THIS!)
Choices. Currently there is a pink, blue, orange, and green one. I have pink : ] (If I knew earlier I would've picked green though...haha)
Does NOT thin out hair. Only trims ends like they claim.
The inventor was a hot musician with long hair. Okay...so that really doesn't matter.

Cons:

Hair HAS to be straight when you use this *curly cues please straighten if you want to use this!!*
Battery operated
Doesn't come with batteries
Cost. It is not worth $60 to me. To me.
Cheaply built...that's why it's not worth $60 mkay.
Blade needs a replacement every year
NOISY

The replacement blade is $12, which isn't a bad price but I think it should come with batteries and a replacement blade.

Have you tried this or anything like it? I think there are some dupes of this but this is the copyrighted original. As much as the noise scared me I really like it for my hair! I was fortunate enough to be sent this Split-Ender. I did not have to make a review for it and this is not a paid presentation. I took the time to write this review because some people asked me about it from seeing it in my last hair care video and the simple fact that I just wanted to.

Le Brunette to Blonde without Bleach

I've gotten manymanymany requests on how I did my hair, what color it is right now, or where I got it done. If you don't like it, that's you. I could care less because I love it! I do think I look more enticing with jet black hair but I love light hair too. It's MY hair and I am comfortable enough to play around with it.

So to answer some of your questions:

It's a shade of ash blonde. A shade because it's a mixture of a few cool toned ash blonde shades. It's not one flat color. Even if it might look like one solid color in pictures, in reality there is depth due to subtle all over highlights.

I'm also super flattered as is my "helper" when people ask where I got it done because I did it at home ... ^_^ !

WHY THIS METHOD?

I wanted to do the main part WITHOUT any use of bleach. I've used bleached before, color worked out great but it's too drying for my taste. Plus, I just wanted to try a new way.

This method will lighten your hair g r a d u a l l y. Mine took about 2.5 weeks. I CHOSE to take this long. If you want you can do this in less time but I think the longer you take the better because it involves multiple processes. It doesn't mean it will not get damaged just because you didn't bleach all of it. It will still get damaged because you are doing something unnatural to it. This method is less damaging because of the condition it left my hair in. My hair's texture when running fingers through doesn't feel anything like straw, far from. When it dries naturally it still feels soft and fluffy.

DISCLAIMER

Oh yeah...I'm not a professional hair stylist. Just did a lil research, asked around, and went for it. So this is from my own experience. I like my result, it's not orange in person, and I cannot guarantee the same exact results for you. However, it WILL lighten your hair. Promise ^_^

Things you will need:

A few pair of gloves
Hair dying brush
Bowl
Regular bobby pins
Plastic bag
Foil paper (I used the regular grocery kind)
40 volume creme developer (I used Salon Care Professional)
1st Hair dye of choice (I used Loreal Preference Ash Blonde 8A)
2nd Hair dye of choice (I used Loreal Excellence Creme Medium Ash Blonde)
Revlon Frost kit (I used the one for medium/dark hair)

Tips before you begin...

Hair dye does not adhere evenly to clean washed hair so wait a day or two if you can
Ask a friend to help you for those hard to reach areas
One process is one time you dye your hair. This one took me 3 (dye, highlight, dye)
Let their be some time between each process. 1 month is best but if not, a week or AT LEAST a few days. You don't want your hair to fall out and be extremely dry do you? I hope not...
Use vaseline, pond's cream, or even a chapstick (something oil based) and rub some at the hairline all so you don't get funny stains all over. You shouldn't get too stained since we're going for a lighter color.
Make sure there are no tangles in your hair before applying any dye.
Put hair in sections then apply dye to get the most even coverage.
Don't spend too long applying dye to sections because then your timing will be off. You might end up with lighter sections where you applied first because it was on longer.

Step 1: All Over Color

I lightened my hair the most in this step. To do that I used 40 volume creme developer mixed with the Ash Blonde dye. Mix this together in a bowl and apply with dye hairbrush. A lot of people cannot handle 40 volume developer so please do a patch test first. During my patch test I noticed that if it touched my scalp for over 5 minutes it felt itchy, when applying I simply made sure it didn't touch the scalp to avoid the itchy sensation.

You can make as many sections you like when parting your hair. I had 3 on each side, 3 in back, and 4 on top. That is 10 sections, so I used 10 pieces of foil. I cut the foil a little bit wider than each section. Place foil under the hair and "paint" the hair on top thoroughly, then fold in half and use bobby pins to hold it in place. Let it sit for as long as it suggests in the box. I let mine sit for 45 mins because I started with very dark hair. You can always unfold a foil to check if it's the color you want. Wash and shampoo lightly.

Result: If you used the same volume and color as me you should have hair that is at least 5 shades lighter. This will be the overals shade. If you want it lighter just repeat this step again.

Step 2: Subtle Highlights

I didn't want my hair to have one solid color so I decided to add in some highlights. I did not want chunky highlights so I used the Revlon Frost Kit for medium to dark hair. I mainly used this because of the cap. The cap is very helpful because it has sections on it to help you highlight. If you want just the top highlighted or just to frame your face, it's as easy as color by numbers! I wanted to have highlights all over my hair for an overal lightening effect with depth. So I pulled out a few strands of hair from each of those circles on the cap with the picking tool they provide.

It took an hour =X it's a good workout for your arms...

You do not have to use the mixture they provide in the box, it is bleach. You can just dye with a very light blonde cool toned color. I went ahead and used the bleach mixture. This isn't bleaching all of your hair. The strands of hair should be very very thin. I mixed following directions on the box and left it on for only 15 minutes. Wash and shampoo lightly.

Result: It lightened very fast because my hair was lightened significantly after step 1. I had very light hair now compared to what I started with. Definitely blonde.

Step 3: Toning
I get that blonde highlights are nice sometimes but bleached highlights are NOT. Bleach doesn't leave hair blonde, it leaves it a pale yellow. You don't want that. You will have to tone it now. You can tone it with a hair dye that is cool/blue/violet toned. I used a regular old box dye in medium ash blonde. I applied it all over in sections. I did not use foil this time but after applying dye I covered my hair with a plastic bag because I wanted a ghetto hat. Jk. I did it because it helps trap in heat and the chemicals just work better and gives it a more even coverage this way too. I left it on for about 30-40 minutes.

Result: My hair is darker than after step 2 but that's what I intended to do. I wanted a medium ash blonde shade with highlights to give it depth.

All done =] !

I tried to be as thorough as I could and I hope it helped some of your out who are trying to lighten hair at home without bleach. Yes this way does take longer and it is more costly because you need a few more things but it's still cheaper than the salon AND it's less damaging in the long run. Hair doesn't feel like straw, I haven't had much breakage, and it still feels soft when airdried! Woot!

I went to my first Indian wedding (actually engagement party) about 2 weeks ago. Look how lovely it is!! It's just an engagement party mind you, not the real wedding yet. The real ones taking place in India and I can't imagine how grand that will be!
