Monday?!?! I'm sure how it keeps rolling back around so fast, but here we are again.
This is going to be a quick post today because I think I've finally caught the cold my kids were fighting last week. This week's {MOJO SKETCH} is a contest. Make sure you head over to the Mojo blog for all the details. This card was another super quick one using the scraps from the layouts I've been working on. I love these paper from Sassafras Lass. The colors are so bright and cheery!!

I'm so glad it's the weekend. Usually I'm not overly anxious for it but I'm glad this week is over. My hubby finally made it home after being gone for 2 weeks, and it's Halloween tomorrow and I can't wait to get the kids dressed up.
I have two Unity projects to show you today. The first is a really simple card, but I love the color scheme.
Next, is a layout I did using Unity's {This Is The Time - mini kit}. I got it free with my last order (Unity has the best sales)!! The papers are from one of the scrap kits I ordered too, I just can't remember which one. I love the monochromatic feel of this layout.
Sorry again for the weird angle on the layout. I haven't figured out a way to get a good photo of my layouts when I can't go outside (SNOW...ughhhhhhhh)

SNOW DAY

The schools here are all closed and the wind is whipping outside. I'm terrible with guessing how much snow we got, but it's A LOT!! The only bummer is my youngest two were suppose to have their halloween parties at school today and my oldest had a choir concert tonight. They were all a little bummed, but nothing a day in our jammies couldn't fix :)
The snow {and Ali Edwards} inspired me to get started on my December album for this years christmas. If you are unfamiliar with this type of album you can {CLICK HERE} for more details. I decided to keep it a bit simpler this year. I loved last years album but did a lot to the pages before so I could just add the photos. The problem was, sometimes the pages were too confining for my photos. So inside are just blank pages for now (I'll share some with you in December once I get some pics in it). I bought {SU's Christmas Jingle Scrap Kit} for this years album. I LOVE all the elements of it and used some for the front cover. Of course, I'll use other products too, but this was a great jump off point. Okay, I'm off to go work on the kids albums some more, something about this weather makes me want to get crafty!!

I love this card!! Do you ever make a card and then you just can't stop looking at it.....hehe. That's this card. I'm not sure why I love it so much, but I do. I made it using one of {Verve's} release week sketches. The stamp is from my much loved {Unity July KOTM} and the papers are from the Unity Scrap kits. I'm literally stalking {Angela's blog} waiting for the newest one to be released. YES, I'm a Unity addict...no need for rehab ;) You know, I think maybe it's the ribbon that I love so much. I wouldn't have ever thought to add it this way but {Julee's} fabulous sketch inspired me.

Wow, the final {MOJO MONDAY} sketch for October already! Christmas is going to be here before I know it and I'm way behind on cards. I guess I better get started!!
Today's card took me about 15 minutes to make, which is super quick for me. I've been scrapping like crazy this week and all these scraps were on my table so I threw them together on a card. Well, I'm pretty sure I accomplished the sweet part, but manly???? This weeks {Bachelor Bro Challenge for Unity} was to use only the colors pink and brown and make a card using anything you think is sweet, but to keep the card manly. I love these cherries and had to paper piece the leaves with brown gingham again. I did it for {THIS} layout and can't seem to think of anything else when I use them. Luckily for me, the colors worked perfect. I love the two different sizes of gingham together, but then again what's not to love about gingham! Thanks for stopping by!

Yes, I know this isn't a new kit. It's actually the {July KOTM} but I had to skip this kit when it was released (even though it was my fave) because my hubby was out of a job at that time :( But Unity just had that fabulous sale and it's finally mine...as well as all the other goodies that came along with it ;)
I have a few card idea's in mind with this kit but I've been rebitten by the scrapbooking bug and I love how cute this layout turned out. Why is it that kids always have more fun playing in the box than they do with the toy. I love this picture of my daughter Macy, she barely fit in their but her expression is so sweet. This picture was taken over a year ago so needless to say I am WAY behind. Good think I'm in the mood to scrapbook!!

scrapbooking!! Yesterday was dreary and cold, the perfect day to cozy up in sweats and whip out a few scrapbook layouts. My kiddo's were home a bit under the weather so they snuggled up on the couch and I had plenty of time to myself. Sorry the photo is at an angle but I usually photograph my layouts outside in the natural light but since it was rainy and cloudy I had to figure out a way to take the picture inside. I had to use my flash so I couldn't take the pic straight on without blasting out the photos. I have a few more layouts that I photographed this way, what do you think?? Is it too hard to see all the details?? My layouts usually look like {THIS}, which is better?

Verve Sketch Challenge 1

Laundry washing, baby sleeping, kids watching a cartoon....all equals a few spare minutes to whip up a quick card, and I mean quick. This came together so fast I couldn't believe it. This paper was out on my craft table so I just went with it.
I used on of the sketches from the Verve Release Challenge found {HERE} on SCS. I'm hoping to get to the other four before the deadline so I can get qualified for the big giveaway. Thanks for stopping by!

Seven Years!!

Today is my 7 year wedding anniversary!!! But....my hubby is out of town for the next week and a half so boooooooooooo.
Sorry this post is late and super sorry I haven't been posting as much lately. I really had my hands full but I think I might finally have come up with a balance that is going to let me craft again. I was watching two babies under 5 months and going to school! I had to drop one baby because all he did was cry....all day....drove me nuts. And my last class was a major time sucker and it's FINALLY over.
Now I only have one baby (and she is sweet as pie) so I'm hoping to be able to find time to get back into my craft room. You don't realize just how much sanity it gives you until it's gone. Wish me luck in getting to some more posts this week!

Where did last week go? Another week with very limited craft time but I did get my {Mojo Monday} card done. I made it for my Grandma, we had a birthday party for her over the weekend. Her b-day isn't actually until November but she'll be gone, so we got together at my Mom's for football and food....love that combo!! Quick question... I felt like my photos were getting dark. I take the pictures on a bench I have and I loved the way they looked but thought I would try just a white background again. Which way do you prefer them?? Any feedback would be appreciated.

I'm so not ready for Monday!!! Last week was exhausting and my weekend didn't allow me much time to recover, so here it is Monday and lots of coffee still hasn't gotten me moving much.
The good thing is it's {Mojo Monday} AND it's a contest week!!! Julee has a really fun sketch this week and there are lots of Vervey prizes awaiting winners. Since my craft time has been slim to none lately I combined this weeks {Unity Bachelor challenge} with my mojo card. This week you had to use plaid and polka dots and I lucked out. My new scrappers kit from Unity, U.R. {...etcetera}, had this cool Cosmo Cricket paper that worked perfectly. The adventurous stamp is from that kit.
I have a cousin of mine coming over tomorrow to work on our scrapbooks so hopefully I'll have another layout (or two) to post soon :)

I went into my craft room to make a card for the new {2S4U} layout and this is what I came up with. Yep, not a card I know but once I got to looking at the new {Unity kit} that I wanted to use I realized they would be perfect for this layout. I haven't scrapped in so long and today I pre-ordered the {newest scrapping kit} just released from Unity so I was in the mood. This photo is from TWO halloweens ago so I really should be doing a lot more of this :)

I got a new Christmas kit from {Making Handmade Cards} and fell in LOVE with these papers! They were both so yuumy I just wanted to showcase them so I came up with this card.Let me tell you, it's a biggie, 5x7. I really like working with the bigger cards these days. Pretty simple layout and it was really quick to throw together.

hehe....this card was super fun to make. Have you heard about the new Unity challenge?? It's INSANE!!! The prize....$750 worth of Unity....who does that??? It's the new {Unity Bachelor Challenge}, this week you had to make a card for the man you love asking him for a date. And you had to use "the bachelors" favorite colors, Red, Green and Black...yikes. This was another drifting of to sleep idea. I was thinking about the colors and a stoplight popped into my head. What do you think?? My hubby is gone for two weeks for work and I'm planning on giving this to him when he gets back...I think it will be his favorite card ;)

Happy Monday!! Did you have a good weekend? I did :) We went to my parents house and to my cousin's baby shower. It's a girl :) I used this weeks {MOJO MONDAY} sketch for the card.Sunday we lounged and watched football, the Broncos won, so I was happy. Sorry for my unannounced disappering act. I fully intended to have this weeks {Mojo Monday} card and I have no idea how it is already Friday. The World Civilizations class I'm taking is demanding so much of my time and I'm also babysitting a 3 month old AND a 5 month old during the day. On top of my own three kids my hands have been really full. Then my husband had to leave on Tuesday for work and will be gone for two weeks. Phew, I'm exhausted just talking about it. So anyway, how's about a card???I used my new goodies for this one. I won my friend {Dani's} Birthday Blog Candy and she sent me lots of yummy Basic Grey paper so I had to cut into it right away. Thanks Dani!!! The flower is a rub-on from {E.A.D Designs}. I won a $50 gift certificate a few weeks back from {2S4U} and finally got a chance to get them on paper. I also ordered a big one for an old door that I've been holding onto. I love the way it turned out and it's now in my living room. Want to see?? Of course you do :)
My hubby thought I was crazy when I told him what I was going to do but he love's it. I've gotten a lot of compliments on it too!! Here's a close up.

I've had another project keeping me busy too. My husband knows how much I love old, worn, unique pieces and he found this cupboard for free on someone's curb. We forgot to take before photos (it was in REALLY bad shape) but here is the after pic anyway.

My hubby had to rebuild one side for me and then I painted it and distressed it. Distressing is such good therapy :)

Happy Friday everyone!!! This is my first Friends with Flair and I'm super excited to get to play along this week. Sorry I've been a little M.I.A. this week. I've been fighting a cold and working on my new online class World Civilizations...ughhhhhh. I really tried to keep an open mind about this class even though I loathe history but it's no use...this class is just boring. And the teacher is having us write three papers for this class!!!!! We've also been getting things together for a yard sale on Saturday. My craft time this week has been no exisistant but luckily I had this little Unity card made and just hadn't found time to post it. I hadn't posted it because I kept thinking I would find a place for a sentiment somewhere and then it would be done but I can't decide where I would put one so here it is. I love the paper pieced images :) The school is popped up with dimensionals but the photo didn't really catch it. I think I'll give it to my daughter's teacher at Christmas...does it need a sentiment??

A Long Weekend

I'm so in need of this long weekend. I feel like mt head is still spinning from August and I don't feel like I ever quite got my feet underneath me. I got to sleep in a little this morning and am sipping my coffee while I type this. New Unity goodies are in the house and it's foggy here. Sounds like a perfect day to hunker down in my craft room!! To bad we have plans :( We are going to my parents house today just to hang out and my Mom is cooking a big mexican food dinner. My husband always jokes he married me for my cooking :) I'm pretty sure I haven't mentioned here that he switched jobs. He now works about 6 hours away and is gone for two weeks at a time....blah!! But then he gets to be home for two weeks and the kids love that!! He just got home on Wednesday so Mom wants to cook him (and my brother in law, they work together) a big meal. Maybe I'll get to craft tomorrow?!? I really love today's card. The colors all really pop and I'm really loving the new Coredinations pack's I bought at the Stamp Expo. The cardboard is another cup cozy from Starbucks and I love the texture. Maybe I'll have to pick up a coffee today for crafting tomorrow :)

It really can't get here fast enough!! I know I've said it before but I just love fall...I just wish it hung around a bit longer. In Colorado, fall turns into snow really quickly and I don't like snow. Today's card is a celebration of my favorite season...and I used my new blog candy win from {Kim Hughes}. I just love when she gives away her stamp sets...especially when I'm the lucky winner. Aren't these images adorable! I love that little scarecrow. I used some of my new Coredinations cardstock and the paper is from SU.
