Hi, guys! The protagonist of this month of Art & Expression is a young canadian artist, very fresh and talented. I've found her few time ago and I immediately fell in love with her amazing artworks. Her name is Karima and it's a real pleasure to me to introduce her to all of you through this little interview she did for Ladyfairy's closet.

Tell us about yourself.

My name is Karima Bélaichouche, I'm from Québec, Canada. Unfortunately I do not work in the arts, I work in the field of administration. That doesn't sound very exciting... but there's no much opportunity in the arts here. Anyway, art is a passion to me. I've been drawing since I was very young. It's part of my life. I'm a very quite person. Creative. Full of ideas and projects. Other things I love... reading, cooking, music, fashion, soccer, math, geography. As you can see, I have a lot of interests.

When did you approach to art?

Like I said, it was since I was young. I saw my mom drawing and I was so impressed by her talent. I do remember, that my mom always used to buy me a new box of crayons every Christmas, or at my birthday... and she still does do that! That was a way to encourage me to draw.

What stimulates you creatively?

Oh my! A lot of things! Fashion really inspires me. All the color in the clothes, the shapes and make up. I love to draw models that have special faces. I love Sasha Pivovarova, Lara Stone, Freja Beha... and lyrics... I draw a lot of things inspired by music.

If you should describe yourself in three words, what would they be?

Creative, stubborn and mysterious.

Thre's a character/reference in art world that you particularly esteem and appreciate? And why?

A lot of artists blow my mind! These times I really like everything that is a mix of watercolor and colored pencil.

The artist or artists whom inspire you the most.

Caroline Andrieu and Zhenya Zhuravlyova. They are just incredibly talented. Everything is just so perfect about theri techniques.

Susan Sontag, a famous american writer, says that art is "a way of getting in touch with one's own insanity". What art is to you? And what relationship do you have with it?

Art is everything to me. It defines who I am. Everything feels better when I'm drawing, 'cause it occupies all my mind and keeps me from thinking.

On what are you working right now?

I'm doing watercolor illustrations portrait of soccer players. Working on David Luiz and Neymar Jr.

Your illustrations oftn portray models and iconic characters of fashion industry. Do you have a favaorite fashion icon?

I really like Karl Lagerfeld, of course (the fashion God!), Freja Beha and Sasha Pivovarova are two models I really enjoy to draw.

My blog is basically focused on fashion. What fashion means to you? And how do you relate with it?

I think fashion is a way to express yourself. The way I'm going dress always depends on the way I feel. I think fashion is a living art.

What is the thought behind your works?

It's all about self-expression and I think I'm trying to communicate my perception of the world, an emotion trhough my art.

Tell us about the creative process behind your creations.

I take inspiration from everything: music, a dream, my actual emotion, other people's work.

There's a particular place (city or museum) in which you'd like to expose your works?

Oh my! I've never thought about exposing my art. Seriously I have no idea... probably Paris or Portland (ME).

Any future projects?

I'm working on a children book for my nephew. I love children illustrations (Dallas Clayton is a genius).

A quote or a motto that defines you the most.

Don't grow up. It's a trap (keep your mind young!)!

A truthful advice from a young artist to a young artist: what is the main ingredient?

Passion, passion, passion.

What is, in your opinion, the first step to do in art world?

Find your own style.

New York Fashion Week S/S 2015 pills

Hi, guys! It's just ended the latest New York Fashion Week S/S 2015, the firts I had the chance to watch in person and I have to admit it was such an amazing experience I will rember for the rest of my days...

Models, designers, paparazzi, starlettes and then bloggers, editors, buyers... everything was a constant bustle! After seven days of fashion, here a short recap of the collection that thrilled me the most.

OSCAR DE LA RENTA

Smells of spring and romance the ss15 collection by Oscar de la Renta. Like lost inside of a fairy garden, delicate flowers dominate all over the soft organza and tulle dresses enriched by some crystal inserts and interspersed by laces, embroidery, fringes, and feathers. The shapes a little bit oversized, a little bit coccon and flared exalt the movements and enphasize the silhouette.

BCBCG MAX AZRIA

Romantic a with a lovely boho touch, the collection is pretty delicious. The dresses move in perfect harmony with the body, declined in a palette of delicate pastel colors that rage from white to peach, from soft pink to light blue while the lines, light and floating, exalt the silhouette, sinous but, at the same time, natural.

ZAC POSEN

In this collection Zac Posen has been able to convert to present all the glmaour of Hollywood of other times. Sinous and elegant, the models walk like new consumed divas wrapped in seductive silk and satin dresses, with hourglass and siren shapes, that focus the attention on hips and made in white, black and vermilion.

DIANE VON FURSTENBERG

Brigitte Bardot and the sensuality of the french riviera live again in the collection signed by DVF. Delicious bustier dresses, vichy patterns, brassiere top, floating long dresses and crimped skirts are the gems of of a fresh and young collection, ladylike, lively and, why not, even a little bit mischievous.

DENNIS BASSO

Lightful, floating, ethereal. This is the woman imagined by Dennis Basso for ss 2015. Romantic and surrounded by flowers, she is wrapped in soft organza, silk and taffeta. Crystal and embroidery inserts create a delicious contrast with the fur coats. Shapes are stright and flared, the palette of colors rage from white to peach, with golden, yellow and blue touches.

NICOLE MILLER

On catwalk all the beauty and the sensuality of a iconic city like Rio de Janeiro. Prints are so colorful and tropical fruits dominate crop tops and high waisted skirts animated by some optical motifs. Evrything is so feminine and seductive.

VICTORIA BECKHAM

Minimal style is took to the limit in this collection characterized by rigour of proportions and care of details. The use of fabrics like jute, linen and double satin allows a kind of precision in the realization of shapes that suit perfectly to the body, exalting the silhouette in a very discrete way, without losing in sensuality and elegance.

VERA WANG

A collcetion that is a bit far of what we expect from a designer like Vera Wang. The turning dark gives to the collection a rockeuse taste that is coverted in the finale in a cool "urban-boho" style, where long floral dresses are matched with micro biker jackets with flared and asymmetrical shapes.

Fashion Icon of the month: Miranda Kerr

Hi, guys! The fashion icon of this month is the super model Miranda Kerr, one of the most beautiful women in this planet, a perfect mix of beauty, grace and elegance. Class 1983, Miranda is an australian girl, grown up in the countryside with her grandma who, at age 13 wins a national competition for new faces. since that moment she joins several advertising campaigns and, noticed by several agencies, starts her modeling career.

She walks the runways of some of the most important fashion brands, from Roberto Cavalli to John Richmond, passing by Balenciaga and Blumarine, and she's also is the protagonist of several commercials (like Maybelline and Lipton) until she finds her place among the angels of Victoria's Secret - for which she parades from 2006 to 2013 - enchanting millions of fans with her look, so innocent and sensual , maybe for that, so disarmingly.

Ethereal and gorgeous, Miranda is the classic natural beauty, the ones who don't need any make up to look hot. Despite success and fame, she's never showed diva attitudes, maintaining the look of the girl next door, so sweet and delightful. Super model but also lovely wife (now ex) of the super hot Orlando Bloom and mother of the little Flynn Christopher Blanchard Copeland, born last 2011, who always comes first, even work.

Her extraordinary beauty united to her extreme simplicity makes her a true fashion icon. It's very hard to find pictures of her in wrong outfits... she has good taste in her DNA! It's not a case, then, that Swarovski chose her as its new testimonial and face of the latest advertising campaign of the brand.

Her personal style is clean and eclectic, ladylike and minimal, with a touch of boho, preppy and a little bit of rock. That she wears a pair of skinny jeans and t-shirt with a flat shoe or a wrapped dress with super heels, she's always refined and super cool. Both for day and night her looks are always chic with no frills. It's her natural beauty to make her elegant. She's often photographed with a pair of jeans, a blazer, a pair of ballerinas with a very thin layer of make up and cherry lipstick on her lips.

During these years, she has been often spotted with her husband clothes - a leather jacket or a t-shirt - to help her to take him more close to her, she said.Working in fashion industry surely helped her to understand which are the most suitable clothes for her silhouette, that's why she never misses a beat! That's a short slideshow of her best looks.

Beautful, cool and funny, she has everything it needs to be a fashion icon.

Hi, guys! Our globe brings us, this time, into one of the most beautiful lands of the Near East, placed on the coast of Mediterranean, in the heart of Israel: Tel Aviv, the biggest and most populous metropolitan area of Israel, elected as "World Heritage Site" by Unesco in 2004. A popular israeli saying states that "Jerusalem prays, Tel Aviv has fun". And it couldn't be more true, the city is the most lively centre of the whole country, a city alive 24 hours 24, flourishing culture, fun and commerce. Get lost in the narrow streets lined with the houses - Bahuaus style - is an experience that is worth doing at least once in life.

It needs just a few moments to being overwhelmed by the bewitching atmosphere of the city... every street, every corner, every alley oozes charm and magic. A little cosmopolitan oasis, paradise for al shopping lovers. Like any self-respecting city, Tel Aviv also has its headquarters in fashion and shopping: Dizengoff Street, a place in which old and new are perfectly united. Thought as something half between decadent parisian boulevards and Brooklyn Heights, here is possible to find lot of city's trends. There's no local designer who doesn't want to open here his own boutique, absorbed in the heart of israeli fashion. House for some of the best flagship stores of the city, here glamour is both grunge and brilliant and stores dress up the protagonists of Tel Aviv nightlife.

An example is Rhus Ovata (155, Dizengoff Street), a boutique hidenn in the walls covered with graffiti, founded by the israeli Zucker sister, winners of Diesel award as young designers in 2002. Their collections have a rockeuse style with an edgy touch. Continuing you'll find Ka::y (159, Dizengoff Street), where is possible to find all the news of european fashion next to the accessories and jewels of israeli Satat Hagar that combine chains in the style of Chanel with a mix of israeli charms and symbols; Vered S (110, Dizengoff Street), a boutique which imports the hottest brands from the capital fashion cities of the world and in where you can find high and street fashion and evening dresses, shoes and unique accessories.

Another store that for sure deserve a visit is Yosef Peretz (213, Dizengoff Street), former dancer became designer and creator of sexy and bold models, with a eclectic and urban touch typical of Israelis. If you love jewesl you can't not to take a look to Verner (216, Dizengoff Street), store owned by Shira Dolinger who reveals a personal choice of vintage next to local and international designers.

Israeli designers love vintage and, to realize it, you just need to take a look to Cala (184, Dizengoff Street) and its vintage clothing line combined with clothes signed by biggest names of israeli fashion. Continuing with vintage some stores I suggest to you are: Ahava LeShinah (Love for seconds), this vintage store has a great combination of women's and men's clothing and it also sells housewares accessories; HaMachteret (8, Almonit Alley); The Antique/garage Sale Market, one of my favourite place to find clothes, shoes and bric-a-brac; Shtaim, this shop is a sort of swishing shop as well as vintage shop. Fore instance, when doing a purge of your wardrobe, you can take the clothes there. If they like what you've brought, they'll give you a voucher.

They also source some clothes from Europe and have some beuatiful vintage dresses, no to mention some great second hand stuff; Lucky n° 2 (2, Lavontin) and Eshet Hail (1, Almonit Alley), in addition to an answer selection of second hand retro clothing, you'll also have a chance to accessorize yourselves completely, the store in fact boasts probably the widest collection of eyewear, earrings and all sorts of crazy pins; Banker (210, Dizengoff Street), a true paradise of vintage with brands from L.A. and New York.

Other stores to not miss are MorVEyos (13, Barzilay Street), the boutique owned by two israeli designers - trained by the great Alexander McQueen - in which you'll find chic clothing, top of the line designer apparel and of course a friendly staff and prices to match all of the above; Jiffa (4, King George Street ), is the place where you can find ultra-chic, cool, urban shoes to walk about in Tel Aviv ot to dance the night away at yet another groovy party. In addiction to a wide selection of shoes, you can also find an array of fashion accessories such hats, as well as stylish t-shirts; Revolver (37, Bugrashov Street), there you'll find street, urban fashionable clothes, at reasonable pricings; Shoemaker (20, King George Street), is a unique and hip women's footwear design studio; Abramey (14, Hamesila Rishpon), this is for sure one of my favourite shops in Tel Aviv, an amazing store in which you can buy wonderful handmade shoes designed by Noa Levy Aran.

End your journey taking a drink at Abraxas (40, Lilienblum Street) or Nanuchka (30, Lilienblum Street) and, unleashing until the first light of the morning, enjoy the magic of sunrise on Tel Aviv, wrapped in its glows and games of light.

Hi guys, in this post for Art & Expression column I want to talk you about a great illustrator I've recently discovered: she's Giada Raucci, an amazing italian artist. Her works are so incredibly glamorous and cool that I've immediately felt in love with them and it's a pleasure to present her to all of you through the little interview she did for Ladyfairy's closet.

Tell us about you.

My name is Giada Raucci and I'm an illustrator, basically a fashion illustrator, but I delight myself in several areas. I love to draw, I love colors and what fascinates me the most about my job is the ability to capture the essence of a subject in a few strokes.

When did you approach to art?
Actually when I was very young: my father used to collaborate with a magazine that dealt with comics and every day, after school, he brought me with him and gave me paper, pencil and rubber; the rest of the environment was enough to stimulate me creatively.

What does stimulate creatively?

Practically everything! But what often takes the upper is the magic world of fashion, made of lights, shapes and colors.

If you should describe yourself in three words, what would they be?
Ceative, practical and organized.

There's a character/reference in art world that you particularly esteem and appreciate? And why?

The world of art is immense: many artists inspired and gave me food for thoughs. The artistic movements that represent me more are impressionism and surrealism. While when it comes to fashion illustrations David Downton.

The artist or artists who inspire you the most.
Everyone my eyes can see! I can say a name or 10, but they will never be all. Eyes are made to see and mind and heart to to remeber and keep, so all the exhibitions I've seen, all the paintings I've studied and all the artists I've loved (or not) have left their mark. All this signs help to form my "stretch".

How would you describe your style?

My style is my perception of the world: is romantic and refined. It's characterized by soft lines, always curved and vibrant, But very important is also the role of color: never flat, always in motion.

Stefano Benni says that "art is escape from normalcy that wants to eat you". What art is to you? And what kind of relationship do you have with it?

Yes, maybe it's a sort of escape, because while I draw I lost myself a little... but to me is, above all, contemporary and human expression of the period in which we live.

Your secret artistic wish?

My artistic wish is to keep doing what I love with less fears and internal criticism.

On what are you working right now?
I'm doing several thing at once: I'm drawing some garments of a new line for a fashion brand, I'm also working on a new series of works called "Animal portraits" and I'm experimencingthe large size for my fashion illustrations, so I can exhibit them.

In a moment in which many artists experiment digital art you works stay faithful to the use of watercolors keeping a refinement and a naturalness in a truly enviable features. What is the secret?

The "secret" may be experiencing more technicals and materials with which express themselves... during my training I learned that beofre realize the potential of a tool, you need to use it to consume it, using it in the rectory way, then distroy the "correct" way, distorting it, using it "wrongly". That's only way to get to the final result. In any case, new means to develop digital art are very interesting and useful; simply use it or not, depending on needs and requirements.

Your illustrations are a true ode to female universe. How do you live your being woman and what relationship do you have with your femininity?

This is a very complex question, but I'll try to be brief: I believe that every woman has lived or live in some sort of conflitct with herself or with other women. Speaking for myself, I tend to be very self-critical and it happens that this attitude cecome distructive, but despite this I'm very grateful to be a woman, because different aspects and contrasts blend together to create a wonderful and mysterious creature, capable of doing absolute good yet ultimate evil. There's a fascnation in the female figure and I try to capture it especially in its eyes.

What is the though behind your artworks?

It depends on the works. Some of my paintings are very well researched and hide inside them very ancient philosophical systems. As for my illustrations, however, I wouldn't talk about "though" but emotions and feelings, that I try to express.

There's one or more works do you love the most? And why?

I'm very fond of my first works, my first paintings, but I tend to not show them. There's a special bond of love-hate and expose them would be like exposing the most intimate part of myself, so I do not do it willingly.

Tell us about the creative process behind your creations.

Usually the basic idea of a workcomes from spontaneous insights at times when you least expect; you can be inspired by philosophy, a book, a song, a picture... insight is already to me a rapresentation of what I'm going to accomplish, the rest comes by itself.

There's a particular place (city or museum) in which you'd like to expose your works?
I'd like to be able to expose my paintings in a large size in conjunction with fashion events, like for example during the presentation of a collection... it would be great to be eble to embody the spirit and the mind of the designer in a few strokes.

Future projects.
For futeure I have many projects, but currently dream of being able to draw for the most important fashion brands and mybe expose my works during the presentation of a collection.

My blog is basically focused on fashion. What fashion means to you? And how do you relate with it?
To me fashion is a chance of expression: I don't see fashion as an imposition, but as a chance to play with fabrics and color to understand what represents us and makes us feel good. There's no rules, everyone make their own ones and is free to propose their idea of beauty. This last concept is maybe too powerful, but starting to attend fashion industry itself, I realize that everything is subjective and, what are "good taste rules" that parents teach us since we're young and that are repeat by family and friends, are ignored if not distorted by those who work in this environment. Besides, that's how it works in all other fields: even in literature, a poet can distort the rules of syntax and be justified by the "poetic license", while if this same rules are not follwed by someone who's not a poet, he's corrected.

A quote or a motto that really defines you.

"Learn to... be what you are, and learn to resign with a good grace all that you are not" (Henri Frédéric Amiel)

A truthful advice from a young artist to a young artist: what's the main ingredient?

Surely the perseverance and commitment are the key elements; you need to be always updated on the news, on new methods of expression. Simply, just believe it: believe in youselves and in what you do, believe in your skills, believe in your work, if you don't believe in yourself in first place, why sould anyone consider you and invest in your account?

What is, in your opinion, the first step to do in art world?

Actually, everyone chooses their paths, art world is so wide and articulated that I dont think there are required steps. In every way, I'd consider the "exposing" to other people and exhibit your works, as first step.

It was 1926 when, in a day of June, from the sky felt Norma Jeane Mortenson, one of the brightest star the world has ever knew, rare gem of Hollywood's golden age, icon of an era, loved, imitated and idolized by entire generations: the unforgettable Marilyn Monroe. Beautiful and fascinating, elegant in her sensuality, so lively but yet fragile, she enchanted the whole world with her talent, giving to it some of the most iconic movies of cinema history, from Niagara to Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, passing by The Seven Year Itch and Some Like It Hot. Her curves and her vulnerability, combined with the innocence of her angelic face, have helped to deliver the myth of Marilyn Monroe to eternity. Her style were so coded that it needs just a few elements to characterize it and make it immediately "hers": red lipstick, black eyeliner, porcelain skin and especially the unmistakeble platinum blonde bob. 52 years after her tragic and mysterious death, her legend is more alive than ever.

First Aid Kit

Music & Fashion: First Aid Kit

Hi, guys! The music icon I chose for this month is a music band that T've recently discovered: the First Aid Kit, the Swedish duo composed by sisters Johanna and Klara Soderberg... everything you need to listen if you want to escape from your world for few hours.

Born in Enskede, a northern suburb of Stockholm, the sisters start to write their first songs in 2007, inspired by the folk style of artists such Fleet Foxes, Okkervil River and Joanna Newsom. In 2008 their cover of Fleet Foxes's Tiger Mountain Paesant Song, uploaded on YouTube, gives them success and makes them earn an invitation by Fleet Foxes to open their concert in Netherlands. They debut that same year with the EP Drunken Trees, published by Rabid Records and them re-published by the londoner Wichita Records with Tiger Mountain Paesant Song as bonus track.

In 2010 they release their first studio album, The Big Black & The Blue, from which are extracted the singles Ghost Town and Universal Soldier, followed by a world tour with 100 dates. During a concert in Nashville, they are approached by Jack White who propose to them to record a single for the Third Man Records Series. After that, they accompany the band Bright Eyes during the performance of Lua.

In January 2012 they publish their second album, The Lion's Roar, that debut at the top of swedish charts and from which are extracted The Lion's Roar, Emmylou, Wolf and Blue. In the same year, Johanna and Klara join several important music festivals performing at Lollapolooza, Bestival and Austin City Limits Music Festival. 2014 is, instead, the year of the release of Stay Gold, their third album anticipated by singles Cedar Lane and My Silver Lining.

I love this group so much, their style a bit indie, rock, and folk... capable to evoke retro environments and rhythms; you need to listen few of their notes to be magically transported in the 60's-70's atmospheres, the years of hippy movement and Woodstock. In their songs there are an old world that opens your heart and cure your soul... they write about married life unsatisfactory, about women who are not afraid to pick up their lives, hoping to became role models for everyone who listen to them.

They're not just talented and poetic musicians, they also have a personal style characterized by a boho chic inspiration, deliciously vintage. Paisley motifs, flowers, white lace are the main elements, but also floppy hats, maxi dresses, light blouses and long wavy or braided hair.

We must to admit these girls know what they do... two lionesses that roar to the rhythm of sounds so far in time that have never been so close.

This month for the section I love shopping around the world, I'll talk to you about one of the most beautiful cities in the world and to which I am tied in a very special way. I've been there just after my graduation, four years ago and it really was a special experience. I'm talking about Istanbul, heart of Turkey: fascinating, full of mysteries and so beautiful to take your breath away. Located halfway between Europe and Asia, is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the entire world and true paradise for all the shopping lovers: from carpets to amazing jewerly, from boutique designers to shopping malls, the range and the prices will turn your head!

As all the other shopping capitals even Istanbul has its shopping streets. One of them is Istiklal Street is the artery of the city characterized by many locals and elegant cool stores. There you will find the flagship stores of the biggest fashion brands like Gucci, Dior, Valentino, Yves Saint Laurent and Louis Vuitton. Other great fashion street are Baodat, Nisantasi and Beyoglu, amazing epicenters for the shopping in the city.

Istiklal street

I suggest to start your tour with Cocoon (Kucuk Ayasofya), one of the nicest store of the city. Four floors of fedora hats, costumes and vintage fabrics from regions of Central Asia exposed next to persian carpets from Central Asia, Caucasus and Anatolia; Gonul Paksoy (Atiye Sokak Genç Apartmani, 1/3-4), a destination you can not miss. The designer is one of the most talented of the country. Her clothes are so particular that border on the art world. The rage of the boutique contains silk and cotton t-shirts, jewels inspired by ottoman tradition and silk dresses with elaborate decorations. Foulards and scarves are very original and irresistible; Mor Taki (Tesvikiye Mahallesi Valikonagi Caddesi, 106 2B), in this amazing store you will find amazing jewels. Great creations signed by Nurettin Ayan and Zeynep Guven who use materials like bronze and stone; Vakko (Buyukdere Caddesi, 138-140), wheter it's underwear or shoes, this shop is a true institution when it comes to fashion. First global brand made in Turkey, it often relies to xenophilous collaboration, like the one with Zac Posen. There are so many in the city that you have plenty of choice. Olivium shopping mall (Bes Telsiz Mh., 34020), is one of the biggest shopping malls of the city. Here you'll find more than 105 outlet stores, a true deal for the lover of low cost shopping. Is great, isn't it? Another great mall is Capital shopping mall (Altunizade Mh., 34662), in this big mall you will find whatever you'e looking for; Kanyon (Buyukdere Avenue, 185), do you want to taste the sweet voluptuousness of Harvey Nichols or Harrods without go to London? Well try the Kenyon shopping therapy! Open spaces and sinous lines, apartments and pendulous gardens, restaurants and exclusive stores: this mall, opened in 2006, is the futuristc version of the Grand Bazar. Hi, guys! The protagonist of Art & Expression of this month is Olga Shvartsur aka Olechka, a young self-taught artist I recently discovered. I was immediately captured by her illustrations, so detailed and dreamy. It's a pleasure to me to present the interview she did for Ladyfairy's closet.

Tell us about you.

My name is Olga Shvartsur and I'm a self-taught artist. I have been using graphite pencils for my works for a long time and recently became interested in watercolors. I am loving this new medium!

When did you approach to art?

I have been drawing since I was a young child, probably around 6 years old. I was always interested in drawing portatraits of people I knew.

What stimulates you creatively?

Caffeine, good music, interesting subjects.

If you should describe yourself in three words, what would they be?

Detail - oriented, content, energetic.

There's a character/reference in art world that you particularly estime and appreciate? And why?

I love illustrating protraits of people with intense expressive eyes and striking features. Angelina Jolie and Audrey Hepburn are some of my favorite subjects for portraits.

The artist or artists whom inspire you the most.

Salvador Dalì, Lora Zombie.

How would you describe your style?

Detailed, realistic, fun.

Susan Sontag, a famous american writer, says that art is "a way of getting in touch with one's own insanity". What art is for you? And what relationship do you have with it?

I feel like art keeps me sane. I have a very high-stress day job and I find art relaxing and it lets me get my attention away from the crazy reality and focus on my creation instead.

You secret artistic wish?

If I tell you it wouldn't be a secret anymore (smiley face)

On what are you working right now?

I am working on a series of colorful animal watercolor portatraits.

Looking at your works I can't help myself notice how truthful they are and how they look, I'd say, intense. Many of them are like suspended in a dreamlike and surreal atmosphere, imbued with a melancholic and almost restless aurea, maintening a certain concreteness. What is the secret?

Intensity comes from the eyes. I get them right and I play with the rest.

How is your relationship with digital art?

I experimented with digital art about 5 years ago, mainly for t-shirts design. I enjoyed creating digital artworks, but eventually came back to traditional art. I definitely prefer pencil (or brush) on paper vs. stylus on tablet.

What is the thought behind your works?

I enjoy capturing people and their personalities in my works. When I started out, my goal was to re-create the original photograph as closely as I could. Now I am focusing more on adding something of my own to every piece.

There is one or more works you love the most? And why?

I don't have a favorite piece of work. Overall, I am very happy with how my recent watercolor works have been turning out. I am fairly new to using color and watercolors, so the results are turning out better than I expected.

Tell us about the creative process behind your creations.

I don't really plan out the details of my works beyond the subject... I just start working on them and things flow naturally.

Future projects.

More animal portraits! I'd also like to work on a larger scale and paint on canvases.

A truthful advice from a young artist to a young artist: what is the main ingredient?

Don't be afraid to try new things - it's how you learn and grown and develop your style.

Is helded last May 5, under the fascinating and bright sky of Manhattan, one of the most awaited and rumored social event of the year, the "fashion night" par excellence. Obviously I'm talking about the Met Ball, the annual soiree that summons more or less known faces of fashion industry and showbusiness. For days, photographers, journalists and paparazzi were in fibrillation for the beginning of this important fashion event that, this year, has a double value. Yes, because if, with Charles James - Beyond Fashion exhibition, it pays tribute to the creative genius of Charles James, the designer entered in history of fashion for his sculptural and sensual ball gowns, it also celebrates the official inauguration of Anna Wintour Costume Center, a wing of the museum dedicated to Vogue America's director, the Met Gala organizer since 1995, who also has the merit of a massive fundraising in support of New York Costume Institute.

Than lights and spotlight shining on the imposing red carpet who saw a long series of starlets, models and real institution of fashion world, fighting each other with photographic flash and super glam outfits. Here, my personal list of 10 Best Dressed.

Hi, guys! This month for Odi et Amo section, I chose one of my favorite hobby ever, something that I really, really love. It's a mixed blessing of every woman, cause and solution of every problem: it's shopping! I love shopping, I would do shopping all day, every day. It's awesome, it enriches your wardrobe and, just admit it, it makes to feel so damn good! When you shop around the stores you feel like some kind of superstar, like you are the protagonist of movie who buys up all the best things at her disposal... it misses only a background soundtrack and it's done! Clothes, shoes and accessories at close range, kind and helpful clerks who treat you like you're the most important client, flattering you with many compliments... an injection of self-esteem that should not be understeemed. In conclusion, how to resist?

But, as far as this scenario may sound tempting, often happens - it happened to everyone at least once - that shopping sessions, especially those inspired by bad days, bad mood and delusions of various kind, prove to be fruitless and disappointing. Who has not ever happened to come in a store, look around, take everything is in front of you, maybe try a dress, fall in love with it, buy it on instinct and then ask yourselves something like "What should I do with a prom dress? I just needed socks!". You can return it (and face the horrible clerk's disapproval look), changing it with something, but once that you lose your enthusiasm it's hard to repair the damage.

Be able to control yourselves might be hard, but is necessary. If you go shopping you need to have a strategy and remember few rules, simple but efficacious.

Avoid to shop if you're depressed or in a bad mood: you'll be more prone to head shots and bad purchases;
Set a budget before every shopping session: it's a wise move that will make you and your wallet very happy;
Do not improvise: do a fast check to your wardrobe and make a list of what you need. Always ask yourselves "do I really need this?" if you need more than five seconds to answer, just give up. Improvising is the easy way to buy things that will grow mold in your closet;
Trace a detailed map of the stores that you can afford, you'll avoid to waste precious time, you'll have more fun and go straight to the right shelfs;
If you need to invent an excuse to buy somenthing, maybe it's not exactly a good purchase;
A size 10 doesn't turn magically into a 8 size and vice versa. Have courage, face the mirror and take consciousness of your body;
Friends lie. Leave them at home, they would distract you and - admit that - they would be able to say you look good in a sack. If you want company bring with you your sister, if you have one: she supposes to love you and be honest enough to say if you look good or not. Important: guys don't like shopping, they get tired, complain and, above all, they're not helpful so, don't bring them with you... at least you don't want to punish them: in that case it's fine;
Whimsy. Basically shopping is not only made to buy things we need (or we think we need), it's also made to cuddle ourselves a little bit, so take yourself a calculated whimsy, just one: everything will be more fun and productive;
If you are not a professionist in shopping don't bite off more than you can chew, yielding to the temptation of online shopping. The risk is to get into wrong sizes and stuff you would never wear;
What you wear expresses what you are. It's important that you feel comfortable with clothes you wear regardless of how they fit, trends or catwalks.

These are just little tricks, but they work. And remember: stores are always there, they won't disappear. So, at least you don't feel sure, take a look around before buying anything and, if you can, choose to to go during the week, preferably in the morning: the majority of people work and kids and teenagers are at school. This will allow you to have more free stores, more available clerks and you'll avoid to get into unpleasant duels, old west style, for the things you want.

Hola chicos! Now that spring is already here and summer is coming (GOT reference!), it's time to think to some holydays destinations (yes, I know is a bit too soon, but let me dream). And when I think to summer, to sun, to sea I can't help myself to think about my beloved Spain. On the border with France, in the most continental part of Spain, in the heart of the province of Girona, there is one of the most beautiful and picturesque city that I've ever seen: Cadaques, landing place for writers and artists remained famous in history, like Bunel, Picasso, Mirò and the enigmatic and eccentric Salvador Dalì, who there built his own home (I suggest you to pay a visit, it totally worths it).

Halfway between a little fishing village and meeting point for viveurs, it's a true living paradise, characterized by an exquisite bohemian atmosphere. Houses, facades of hotels, restaurants and stores are characterized by a dazzling white that contrasts with the blue of the sea and the sky. The historical center is composed by several paved streets that intertwine and mingle each other, on the side restaurants and stores sell a wide variety of items, from souvenirs to candles, from books to clothes... variety is the key word. There's something for all tastes, you just need to unplug from the daily grind and being absorbed by the mood of Cadaques.

Our little trip begins with Ele et Mo (Riba Poal), a real fascinating little store where you'll find 60's clothes revisited in a new hippy-chic way, original accessories and fashion brands by new emerging spanish designer. Inevitable are paintings and prints by young and conceptual artists; La Pepa (Port Alguer): if you live for couture and budget is the last of your problems, this is the place for you. It's one of the most exclusive and luxurious store in Cadaques in which is possible to find the latest collections of the most prestigious fashion brand.

We proceed with Mo Cadaques (18, Doctor callis), one of the most "young" local store. Here the proposals are mainly addressed to youth and teenagers: dresses, blouses, tops... everything you need for a chic street style; Moksha (Plaza del Estrella), a super fascinating shop that reminds me an old indian store. Here you'll find amulets, protective stones, pendants, pearls, harem pants decorated with patterns and embroidery, caftans made with colorful customed textures and bracelets for every taste. On the same wavelength is Gemma Ridameya (Vigilant), a wonderful jewelry that sells amazing jewels that contains all the art of the people, created with rustic materials and stones by talented artsists.

Art & Expression

Hi, guys! The protagonist of this month of Art & Expression is a young parisian illustrator, so elegant and talented. I've found her few time ago and I immediately fell in love with her amazing works, from which transpires the artistic tecnhique and that style typically french that I love so much. Her name is Livia and it's a real pleasure to me to introduce her to all of you through this little interview she did for Ladyfairy's closet.

When did you approach with art?
As my mum is a painter, I have always been surrounded by art. Since I am a kid, I belong to the art universe. I loved going in my mum workshop every day to draw and paint with her. I was going very often to museums or in art gallery and loved that.

What does stimulate you creatively?

A lot of things in my life stimulate my creativity, especially all the things I see during my travels as the landscapes, the animals, the people and the colors. I need also to discover other artists to give me the desire to go further.

If you should describe yourself in three words, what would they be?

Curios, unsatisfied, adventurous.

The artist or artists whom inspire you the most.

In fashion, I would say Alexander McQueen and Iris Van Harper who are both so creative and have such inspiring universe. For drawing, it's Egon Shield and Hans Bellmer; their drawings are so intense and fluid at the same time.

How would you describe your style?

I work the drawing in its classic expression to belong to the closest to the expressions and the materials while keeping as priority argument the fashionable essential modernity. I try also to be poetic and even sometimes a bit surreal

Stefano Benni, a famous italian writer, says that "art is escape from normalcy that wants to eat you". What art is to you? And what relationship do you have with it?

I completely agree with him. When I draw, I am so focused on my work and on what I intend to do that it enables me to escape from my real life. I definitely need these kinds of moments.

Your secret artistic wish?

To succeed in doing what I love.

On what are you working right now?

I am doing cut and past with insect and female

Your artworks represent female body, often accompanied by animal figures. Why?

Female and animals are very similar and very complementary. Animals are a inexhaustible source of inspiration by their morphology and their texture. For me, animals are poetic and help us to escape.

What kind of relationship do you have with your femininity?

There are so many different ways to be feminine... For me, it's more in the attitude than in the way you dress. I am very well with my femininity but not in the <<girly way>>.

Tell us about the creative process behind your creations.

When I work, I plunge into the universe of the creation that I am working on by surrounding me with decorations, colors, landscapes and, naturally, fashion pictures. I am totally immersed in my subject.

Future projects.

Try to communicate more about my work, it's the most difficult thing for me.

My blog is basically focused on fashion. What fashion means to you? And how do you relate with it?

I studied style and textile creation in a Parisian school. Now, I work in a fashion brand so I am connected to fashion every day. What I love in fashion, it is more the way to do it than the final product. I love when fashion is art.

A truthful advice from a young artist to a young artist: what is the main ingredient?

Believe in what you do and do what you love.

Hi guys! The fashion icon of this month is one of the most promising and talented of the moment, required by directors and the most important fashion magazines. Twenty-three years and a series of cult movies behind her back: I'm talking about the beuatiful and chameleon Emma Stone, one of the youngest Hollywood's levers.

Born in the wet and rainy lands of Arizona she moves in Los Angeles with her mum when she's 15 e she moves her first steps in world of entertainment playing in several tv shows. She arrives at cinema acting in movies like Suxbad and The Rocker. In 2009 she gets a little role in the romantic comedy The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past next to Matthew McConaughey, in which she shows off a strong comic verve that make her earn the roles of Wichita in the movie Zombieland, next to Jesse Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin, and Olive Penderghast in Easy A, a modern and surely funniest version of the novel The Scarlet Letter, that make her gain a nomination as Best Musical or Comedy Actress at Golden Globe 2011.

Big green eyes, lean body and long red, than blonde, than brown hair, Emma is a real natural beauty, that's why, in 2011, she is chosen as testimonial for the advertising campaign of the Colorbust Crayon Collection by Revlon.

On big screen as in the real life, Emma is a true style icon, perfect in every occasion. In fact, it's rare to see her committ missteps on red carpet. And, we have to admit, the raw material is all righ: sweet smile, the elegant demeanor and the work of stylist that surely knows what she does. She often dares with bright colors without look axcessive or too extravagant, other times she shows off irresistible retro outfits.

Chosing which of her looks are the best is very hard, because all of them deserve a mention. In daily life, she shows off casual but cool outfits, treated in detail. She often opts for skinny jeans, hats, booties, lace up shoes and oversized outwear. We have to admit that this girl is good with that! Music & Fashion: Lorde

Hi, guys! The protagonist of this month of Music & Fashion is one of singers of recent entries in the list of my favorites. Class 1996, born in New Zealand and spokeswoman of a music style that goes from pop to electro music, passing by indie and alternative rock. I'm talking about Lorde, born Ella Maria Lani Yelich - O'Connor. When I look at her I can't help myself to think to one of my favorite characters ever, the great Daria Mongerdorffer of the MTV's animated series: alternative, cynical and provocative, with that nerd look, surprising irresistible.

Although she's very young she just can boast several records - like the top of Billboard Alternative Chart (the first female artist to conquest the chart after 17 years) - thousand of sell copies and prestigious awards like Best International Solo Female Artist won at Brit Awards 2014. Daughter of a famous New Zealand poetess, Lorde has writing in her blood. Supported by her family she starts write her music, developping her own style of writing that manifests in the lyrics of her songs.

Discovered when she was 12 by the talent scout Scott Maclaclhan, she signs a contract with Universal Records. That's how that, working with several composers and musicians, comes to life The Love Club, her first EP. Singles extracted, Tennis Court, Team and Royals, are a big success and they reach the top of New Zealand's charts. But it's when Royals is released in USA that Lorde knows the international success and it gives to her the chance to complete her record work with the release, in september 2013, of Pure Heroine, her first studio album, that alternates pop and rock atmospheres, electropop influences and sounds of artists like Etta James, Otis Redding, Grimes and Sleigh Bells.

If musically the world of Lorde might look almost parallel, when it comes to style, she also seems to live in her own world. Animated by a big passion for fashion - as she said herself in an interview for Vogue magazine - she admits to have as personal style icon two institutions of 80's , both musically and in terms of style: Grace Jones and David Bowie, 'cause - she says - they have "sense of themselves". Black eyeliner and dark lipstick, she shows off outfits characterized by a rock and a bit dark allure, based on primary colors, long skirts, oversized shirts, lace-up shoes and ankle boots. Here, a selection of her best looks.

Great talent, cool style and strong personality: these are Lorde's trademarks. Self-proclaimed priestess of bordeom and disgust, she attacks everyone who looks for perfection at every cost, showing little smiling (Patti Smith docet), with haevy dark circles and without make up (that's why MAC Cosmetics created with her a new make up collection?). And to those who want her as a character to idolize she says: "There's a fine line between role model and preaching to people. I never want to tell anyone how they should be, especially not someone my age. But, that being said, I'm conscious of the fact that people my age are reading what I say and listening to what I say, and that's cool-particularly for the girls who are into what I do."

Well, nothing to say: talented and wise, provocative and arrogant just enough to make her captivating. We just hope she won't lose the right way. But for that we entrust to America's Sweetheart Taylor Swif, her collegue and BFF, and see what's next.
