Heavy rain condition at the airport caused the flight to be delayed for 20 minutes.

17:00 Arrived at Kun Ming Airport. The flight need to refuel, thus waited for 45 minutes before continue the journey to Li Jiang.

Throughout in the flight, turbulence can be felt and I saw many passengers were getting dizzy and air-sick. But I have no problem, perhaps due to I have been "trained up" in many more greater turbulence than this in my other flights. Throughout this flight, beautiful clouds can be seen capping the mountain range.

19:00 Arrived at Li Jiang airport. The tour guide Mr. Jiang greeted us and brought us to the Li Jiang city which is about 40 minutes drive from the airport. At this moment in the bus, I can feel that my head is getting heavy, dizzy and there is a pulsating headache too. It's due to the high altitude of this place with a range of 3000 m above sea level. At this level, the oxygen level and air pressure is very very low.

But at the same time, I can't resist the beautiful scenery of the grassland and vegetation farm lining along the way to the Li Jiang city.

19:40 We had our dinner at one of the small little home-cum-inn of the Naxi tribe people.

20:30 Checked in hotel and since I was not feeling well, thus took a light nap.

22:00 Felt much better, and can't resist the urge to go outside and had a walk. Saw the entire sky is beautifully litted up with thousands of stars, but too bad that I was not able to capture any good shots.

23:00 Bed time.

Next, more updates coming soon on this blog and my photostream.

Visit my Flickr Photostream here: http://bit.ly/d79CJ

Why do birds suddenly appear...

Why do birds suddenly appear..., originally uploaded by kenneoh.

Why do birds suddenly appear
Every time you are near?
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you - by the Carpenters

- Have not been going out with my dear for a nice lovely walk for a long long time since we came back to China. Today it's a lovely nice-weather day, with cooling breeze, warm sunshine and blue blue sky for a perfect lovely stroll in the park with my dear and as we strolled along............this bird appeared. And this jingle played in my mind....Close to you. (captured this at the Fairy Lake Botanical Garden, Shenzhen, China. )

- Recently indulged myself so much in the lovely music of Susan Wong. Dubbed as Best Kept Secret of Asia, she has outsold most other better known singers in the entire Asia. Listen to her cover version of the hit songs that made the breakthrough hit for Carpenters and shot them to stardom. Perhaps you might enjoy this song as much as I do, here : My Blog

Uploaded by kenneoh on 12 Nov 08, 11.04AM CST.

Love is in the air , everywhere I look around

Love is in the air , everywhere I look around, originally uploaded by kenneoh.

Love is in the air , everywhere I look around
Love is in the air , every sight and every sound....

- Eversince I came to this Middle Kingdom, I have been looking frantically around for glittering lava lamps. I am so fascinated by the graceful movement of the liquid and the glittering ornament. The 4 years of searching ended last 2 months, when I found this lamp on a great sale. It's a golden yellow lava lamp with tiny glittering golden dust in it. Didn't notice that love exist in it, until I put on my 50mm lens to capture it. Love is just everywhere....if only we look at it in a lovey dovey perspective.
Happy Bokeh Wednesday!!!!

Uploaded by kenneoh on 5 Nov 08, 10.10AM CST.

Star of The Orient

Star of The Orient, originally uploaded by kenneoh.

Star of The Orient
A new star is born in the world of Indigenous music.

I was introduced to Gurrumul's music recently by a good friend of mine.
Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu is a musical genius. His beautiful voice will never leave you as he sings the songs of his Gumatj country. His solo performances are a rare treat and should not be missed. With the release his first solo album, Geoffrey highlights the tremendous talent he has to offer Indigenous music in Australia, and indeed, the world.

One of the most important and beautiful Indigenous albums yet recorded.
By the way, Gurrumul is blind since birth.
