Sweet surprise

2013-04-16T19:19:00.001-07:00

My husband booked a room in the hotel near our reception venue for the night of our Church wedding, the plan was we will spend the night in the hotel like you know...like normal newly weds ;). We booked our honeymoon like a few days more after our wedding so for the meantime an overnight stay will do :D

What surprised me was when we arrived we entered not just in a standard room but my man was so generous enough and got the only executive suite in that hotel, and not only that he even decorated it with rose petals, from the door until our bed and even the jacuzzi. :D How sweet was that? My tipsiness was gone after seeing it...haha... *giggles*

our bed

our jacuzzi

Not only that, when I woke up the next morning he surprised me with a bouquet of pink roses ... I almost fainted lol. Hmmm now why I am posting this? well it's because I wanna document it and when I feel like looking back, It's just a click away :D

my bouquet of pink roses

So much inlove- ANNA ;-)

We said " I do " again

2013-04-12T23:25:00.001-07:00

At first I thought staying here in Mex will let me post more stories ( because of the new culture and environment) and even shed some pounds ( because I will not be eating rice in a daily basis) but omg! What happened to me? I was like 98.99% gone here and gained like 10 more pounds (loser much! lol).
My bad! I'm so sorry folks but I really dunno what's in here that made me too lazy while the wifi connection is in full bar...What happened in the passed 8 months of laziness? Well....

I arrived, met Alan's family and friends, enjoyed Mexican foods, drank tequila and corona until my liver was about to scream, got tanned by the hell-like summer in Sonoran desert, got frozen by the 1 digit something degree celsius temperature during the winter, etc.....etc....

But you know what's the best part of what happened here?

These.... :D *giggles*

PS. I will keep you hanging for a while if you are waiting for a more detailed stories about our weddings ... Yup! until we are done with our fourth, so please just watch out for that ;) .

One more wedding to go folks! ;-)

Today is first day of my spanish class so that means my it's my first time to try commuting here in Hermosillo too.Congratulate me for not being lost...Lol Everything went well! Mister bus driver dropped me in the right stop, I crossed the right pedestrian, and arrived 10 minutes before our class...Great! Our class room still got lots of oxygen available for the 5 students and a teacher.....haha...yup we are only 5 aspiring spanish speakers there, 3 Chinese, 1 German and 1 Filipina (of course yours truly).

And do you why I am loving today's date more!? It's because it's our 4th wedding monthsary (civil) and my thoughtful and sweet hubby surprised me with lovely flowers when I came back home.(giggles).

On the 12th day of Christmas

2013-01-06T23:52:00.001-08:00

In the past years, January 6 normally reminds me of the Three Kings day that means it's the last day of christmas and you can start hiding the christmas tree back to the store room, it's my cousin's birthday too (Ate Ría) and it's the same date when I last spoke to my dad before he passed away 14 years back .....but now there's another thing that will remind me of this day....the Rosca de Reyes bread... :D

Let me share to you this Mexican tradition i just met....

During the era of the kings of France, bread was filled with a lima bean, and the person who found it in his bread would receive the gift that His Highness had prepared for the event. The idea was to place a lima bean in the bread dough, which was usually filled with fruits like dates and raisins, and this bread was shared around the time of the New Year festivities.

The tradition changed a bit when it arrived to the Americas, transforming itself according to the customs and resources of our country, where it eventually became the rosca. Here the rosca is decorated with pieces of orange and lime, and is filled with nuts, figs, and cherries. Hot chocolate accompanies the rosca.

So every year, on January 6, families all across Mexico gather around their tables to share the rosca de reyes. And now, instead of finding a lima bean in the bread, a little plastic doll representing Jesus is placed in the bread. The person who receives a piece of bread with this doll inside has to make the tamales used in the fiesta de la Candelaria on February 2. This celebration is the last of the Christmas festivities, 40 days after Jesus's birth.

And of course we had rosca today and guess what? I've got a little plastic doll inside my rosca...They said it's good luck if you find one cause it's like you have the baby Jesús with you...Now that I've got good luck I guess I need to learn how to make tamales so I will be ready for February 2. :D It's so nice to know new tradition....it's like standing in the same position and seeing different views in every direction you look....Happy Three Kings everyone!

Sneak peek of my rebellious outdoor boudoir shoot

2012-07-23T21:16:00.001-07:00

Hola Folks!

Are you waiting for this already? haha

Well, It took me some time to get all the courage to share this outdoor boudoir experience of mine.
With my husband's permission I finally made it! *facepalm*

Doing it is one in my bucket list and I'm so glad I made it! Ever since I gained weight, I mean a little bit bigger than the size I used to have 7 years back.... I've got these little insecurities that I really hate....but you know what? after this shoot I learned that we all have different shapes and sizes....chubby, skinny, voluptuous, short and tall.We just can't compare apples to oranges and whatsoever your body is there is always a part/feature of you that is really beautiful, having confidence and believing into yourself is what will make it more fantastic.

Boudoir is not about showing flesh .. boudoir is about appreciating your own beauty and loving your self. It's all about having fun, dressed up, letting your inner beauty stands out while forgetting all those insecurities you have...

It's not bad to feel sexy! It is fun!

Why outdoor?
I live in a Province where you can find beautiful beaches... I'm a nature lover and I believe a boudoir shoot is more fun if I will do it with a beautiful nature backdrop...you can appreciate the beauty of both...plus it gives me the feeling of being free.... I don't know how to explain it.... but it's just give me peace...

So now, without further ado here's a peek of my outdoor boudoir.

Caution: For your eyes only!

Our Sailor Couple dolls by ANTHILL Fabric Gallery

2012-07-21T03:02:00.000-07:00

Today I was surprised when I've got a private message in Facebook from ANTHILL informing me that the couple sailor dolls I requested them to make for us are already done.Yey! And they've attached a photo of them....Gawd!! They are so adorable!!

This Isabel x HOME occupational dolls caught my attention few weeks back....The first thing that came into my mind that time is why not request for a seawoman/seaman rag dolls.... it's one of things that could represent me and Alan...plus these dolls will surely match our Nautical/Chevron inspired wedding and I could even help HOME mothers to create more lovely occupational dolls..... Without second thoughts I shoot them a message....gave them pegs and now...I am so happy with the output!!! Can't wait to see??? Come on!

Lemme share you my pegs (for the dolls outfits/clothes) ....see below!

First Fitting (Mexico wedding gown)

2012-07-21T01:56:00.000-07:00

Yup yup! i'm already done with my 1st fitting for my gown in Mexico last July 7...Funny! but I feel so nervous before I tried it......hahaha.... But hey! I so love it.. I so love the drapings and the flow of the fabric....the only thing that I hate was.....Errrrrrrrr I gained extra pounds! whooooooah that made the gown a little bit tigher than it should be..... So I asked Jef if he can wait for me until I somehow lose some flabs! (asa pa talaga ako)! Glad Jef let me....Hmmmmm ....At the moment I doubt I lose some...huhu but I'm still hoping!*wish me luck*..... If not He don't have any choice but to adjust it! :(

I have some pictures taken during the fitting (courtesy of sis Irene) .... but since Alan has this belief about seeing his bride with the wedding dress on before the wedding day is a bad luck.... so I decided not to share it until our wedding is over! :) yeah so Pinoy lang ang peg! :P

I just can't wait until it's done :D wiiiiihhhh hapiness <3

My DIY cord - Nautical inspired

2012-07-20T20:48:00.001-07:00

Hola!! As promised, I will now share my DIY nautical inspired wedding cord.... :D

Sorry but I don't have a step by step instructions on how I made it because it's just a piece of cake..I just did some tying and sewing....hahaha

I wanna create something with a nautical feel for this one to match our Nautical/Chevron theme for our wedding in Mexico....so here's what I came up with.....

My DIY cord

I initially wanted to use colored ropes for this but since I'm based in the province it's quite difficult to find materials here....so what I did is just make one out of baker's twine...

here's the materials I've used:

20 yards each of yellow and blue baker's twine - P330.00 ( i ordered online so it goes with the shipping fee)

yellow and deep blue buttons- P20.00 for 60 pieces

assorted stainless/silver charms/pendants - P180.00 (all)

yellow and blue threads- from granny's sewing box :p

mighty bond- from the household

Total cost : P500.00

Here's a closer view of my DIY cord...

cross in the middle

steering wheel charm in the middle that bind both loops

stainless anchor

girl and boy charm ( for me it's cute) I put it in the end of each loop

another anchor charm (silver)

symbol of LOVE :D

angel with heart charm

blue buttons I sewed in yellow loop

yellow buttons I sewed in blue loop

I so love the combination of our motif :D

That's it pansit!!

I hope you like it! :D

Note: This cord is also inspired by the DIY bouquet of a w@w sissy (Michelle ni Jay) who is my cheerlearder for this DIY. ;) -Gracias Sis! :D

Be cool in BICOL!

2012-07-20T02:46:00.001-07:00

Spell LAZY and BUSY!--------> This post is a month overdue *sorry*

Yes, I'm lazy......I'm too lazy in updating our blog now....and

too busy thinking and prepping for our 2 upcoming weddings....

Hmmmmm I'm actually pressured about our wedding in Mexico this coming August because you know how short notice it was plus I'm still getting hard time sending and requesting the necessary papers for the Church requirements there. We planned it to be just simple, very intimate and kind of low budget wedding since we don't really expecting this but as much as possible we wanted to make it as special as our beach wedding here in the Philippines on December.

Okay, enough of blabbing about the wedding preps....For the meantime let me share you how I left the wedding stuffs for a while and got a short vacay in Bicoladia...

Finally after thousand years planning....we made it there LOL...

I went to Bicol with my High School friends... namely Joarry (who is on vacay from her cruise ship job), Troy ( a cool COO), Charm (my outgoing banker BFF) and Rio ( IT techy buddy).

See how we explored Bicolandia ......(June8-10, 2012)

We rode a 21 seater Cagsawa Bus (elite class) --->
from Cubao-Albay ( 10-12 hours land trip).....We actually wanted to try the PNR train ride but because we are kind of scared in terms of safety we opted to try this bus instead.....though part of me really wanna try a slumdog-millionaire-like-ride but like what they always say...safety first!Hmmm, let us see if this bus is worth riding for.....okay, the bus interior is cozy...with a business-class-plane-seater-like seat, very cold (so I suggest you bring your own blanket coz I can't sleep in a space with 15-19 degrees temperature without even a small pillow...>_<), and they have a driver and conductor who are not really friendly at all (we can't even ask them to take us a group picture for souvenir hmmmp), no restroom ( i thought they have ) and no wifi connection (disappointing because some bus with lower rate have this )....for a P920.00 each person in one trip I'd rather add few more hundreds for a plane ride than riding again here because honestly I'm not comfortable traveling aboard this bus....maybe because of the fast and furious speed of it that made my eyes widely open the whole night :(.

We decide not to book a hotel prior to our trip.... Troy said it's a backpacker's style so better we just do look for it right then in there...when we arrive in Albay...So we did!

We are not really up to a 5 star hotel accommodation since our main goal is to explore Albay as much as we could so we don't need a very pricey room where we will stay only just to get some zzzzz.... Finally with the help of Charm's brother who always have a business trip in Bicol we got an affordable hotel/Inn.

We checked in Jenifer's.....We took only one big room and add one mattress.... and guess how much it cost us???hahaha because it's not peak season anymore we get them for only P2100 ...Not bad right?? see the amenities below :D

From Jenifer's ...just after eating our breakfast there we went Cagsawa ruins to see the Mayon volcano ....we saw it but because of the super hot weather we decided to just go back the next day to take some picture because the heat of the sun is not really tolerable at all.... :(

Next stop: EMBARCADERO

Troy was telling us how he loved the burger here.....

unfortunately it's not available when we decided to dine...awwww...
because they said they run out of buns....oh please!!

Embarcadero excites me only for one thing which is the zipline...Hey!it's my first time....

Talk about fight your own fears... and extreme activities!!! Wiiiih

excited

getting ready...

kabado na LOL

I'm brave!!

Charm and Joarry were afraid to try it ....so they just watch us and took some photos of how brave we are LOL....

Add caption

Tired???we are not! To taste the famous sili ice cream we went to Gaisano Mall where !st Colonial Grill is located....

I so love this old Church

what's in there? haha...

We went back ....near Gaisano Mall area after....We hired a cab to tour us in Lignon hill...Glad Manong driver was nice....He charged us P400.00...Good deal for 6 of us right?? what to see there??check 'em below.......

for only P5.00 you can have a closer view of Mayon Volcano

lovely!!

Advance Happy Birthday Rio :)

Us again :D

before leaving ....

we call it a night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After that blissful dinner ...we head back to Jennifer's...and yes we are dead tired! LOL

June10- last day...we woke up early because we wanted to catch the early morning view of Mayon volcano from Cagsawa ruins where you can see the perfect cone volcano without any clouds...Just a jeepney ride away from Jenifer's...at 5-ish in the morning...

Note:

Locals says: to catch the perfect view of Mayon Volcano you have to be at Cagsawa Ruins from 5-8 in the morning ...or else enjoy Mayon with clouds...

the boys

amazing place we have in the country.... a must see!

After enjoying the Mayon view we went to old Albay ....we visited St. Gregory Church....too bad we're not able to hear the whole mass...Hmmm....We can't understand their dialect....so we just pray and...

Add caption

and we walked til we find this....SMALLTALK...where we wanted to taste their famous laing pizza..For some mishaps...oh well we are too early....We are there at 8am and this opens at 9am...tsk tsk...

so we just pose in front.....eeeer

We are hungry so ...good thing Biggs Diner is just a block away....

after 48 years this burger finally came

happy kid , happy tummy

After breakfast we dropped by the bus terminal to buy some Pasalubong....and then back to Jennifer's andchecked out....We are in a hurry! why???because we want to try the famous halo halo in Bicol!!!!

Gawd! Can you imagine how many pounds I gain after this trip? LOL

So there! With our bags...we went to DJC Halo halo....near Gaisano Mall....

I'm enjoying this yummy halo halo while watching Pacquiao vs Bradley fight haha

Back to Manila this time....yes with a plane ride!!buti nalang :)

before boarding a CebuPac flight

until next time Bicol..

Two days is too short to explore whole Bicolandia but at least we get some taste of it!!!!

Next time we want it longer maybe a week or two????good luck!!! but for sure we will!

I love Bicol! :D

reasons behind our Nautical/Chevron Theme for our wedding in Mex + mood board

2012-07-17T18:37:00.000-07:00

Wedding in Mexico is unplanned....we just decided to have it mainly because Alan's Mom can't make it to our December wedding due to some health issues .... so as his Sister, his Sister's BF and his Grandma since it will fall on Christmas Holidays and they can't leave MIL celebrating Christmas alone...so there...

It's not planned so that means we don't have budget for this so as much as possible we wanted a super intimate Church wedding with Alan's immediate relatives only....

Budgeted?why with theme??

People say having a thematic wedding will just cost an arm and a leg but I believed it will always depends in the situation....:P In our case we just wanna have a theme to just have a simple touch of the things that we love or let us just say a touch of the things that are special to us..:D Thus, Nautical/Chevron inspired wedding was born. :D

There are 4 main reasons why.....see below~

We met on board a ship so initially we want it Nautical....but we added the Chevron touch so it will not looks like those normal nautical themed weddings....
Alan and I studied the same course in College....Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation.... Yes!My dream profession before is to be a Captain of a ship but since it's quite difficult for a woman like me to pursue such kind of profession in that kind of field I am currently in the process of being the Captain of my husband who will pursue my dream profession....LOL -kiddin there:P
Our first wedding was on board a passenger vessel (Caribbean Fantasy) where we used to work... It was officiated by a ship Captain....from there I guess it's one of the valid reason why Nautical is special to us...
Like other Marine Officers, Alan is also dreaming of wearing his Black Marine Officer's suit on his wedding day and since he can't wear it on our December wedding , he can finally wear it this time...A happy kid indeed!

To give you an idea......lemme share you our Nautical/Chevron inspired mood board :)

pics used in the collage is from the web ;)

and this is our motif (deep ocean blue and vibrant yellow)

our motif :)

Don't you think it's a nice theme and motif combination?? Because for us it is! :D

stories to blab after being MIA (preview) and Monogram studies for our wedding in Mexico

2012-07-14T19:48:00.000-07:00

Hola friends !!!!

Talk about being MIA - I'm totally missing in action these past few weeks due to some problems I'm encountering in our Mexico's wedding preps..... I have lots of stories to blab but I just can't write them all in one seating so for the moment lemme just give you ideas what are those stuffs I'll soon post ...

Here they are:

My trip to Bicol with my HS friends
w@w tags
Chevron/nautical theme for Mexico's wedding
w@w EB #2
documents dilemma: hablo espanol???
First fitting with Jef albea for my gown in Mexico
My DIY cord for Mexico-Nautical inspired
Trip to Liliw, Laguna
My DIY bouquet #3
My rebellious outdoor boudoir shoot

I cant believed I filed them like that.....whew!

But for the meantime....can you please help us choose which monogram is the best we can use for our wedding in Mexico???
We will be having a simple church wedding in Alan's hometown in Mexico and we decided to have a Nautical/Chevron theme wedding.....and because I'm a fan of Sis Joy of Monogram hub I asked her to create 3 monogram studies for our wedding in Mexico again and yes, she never fails to amaze me of her craetions.....After receiving the studies she made for us...it is really hard for me/us to decide which is which again.....so now please help us vote! hihi :P

Here you go! :)

uno

dos

tres

what do you think folks???

which is which?? :D

My fave so far is monogram dos while Alan wants tres....and you? :P

TIA

Note: The date is still missing because for the moment we dunno yet if we can still have our wedding on August 4 or move it a lil bit later >_<
