Just Thinking

Normal in Europe or just sick.

2011-08-18T13:05:00.000-07:00

I love Europeans and their freedoms, the beaches, the scenery...but this, I don't get it, pedophilia, rape, or does france just look at things differently since sex is normal to them....but yet they show this!? Or does it all depend on what lens you look at it from. In America this would be disgusting, in other parts of the world though...it is still disgusting for most people.

Two Months after the Fukushima-Daichi Nuclear disaster, there is now something to uplift spirits and create hope...The Japanese lingerie maker Triumph has created a bra that carries messages of encouragement from overseas, such as "Japan, with you 100%" from France, along with many others, including a few alluding to the Chernobyl disaster in the USSR (Now known as Ukraine) in 1986. Accompanying each message is a tiny flag from each country; but alas, it is not for sale. Previous efforts from the company have included a solar-powered bra and a "Welcome to Japan" bra, which featured greetings in three different languages. For those of you who want to read more about this interestingly designed bustier...

Are Mini Nuclear Reactors safe?

2011-05-04T11:58:00.000-07:00

Why did we not hear about this in the United States? Negative press prehaps. They say these can be buried safely underground. What these people don't account for is earthquakes, If something goes wrong, who might their clients blame, the company? the United States? What shocks me is that this article is a few years old, yet has anyone (besides the folks at the company) ever heard of it in the United States. I doubt it.

Zombie virus, could it happen!?

2011-04-25T13:44:00.000-07:00

(CNN) -- An airborne virus is rapidly turning people into zombies. Two-thirds of humanity has been wiped out. Scientists desperately look for a cure, even as their own brains deteriorate and the disease robs them of what we consider life.
Relax, it's only fiction -- at least, for now. This apocalyptic scenario frames the new novel "The Zombie Autopsies" by Dr. Steven Schlozman, a child psychiatrist who holds positions at Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts General Hospital/McLean Program in Child Psychiatry.
You might not expect someone with those credentials to take zombies seriously, but it turns out the undead are a great way to explore real-world health issues: why certain nasty diseases can destroy the brain, how global pandemics create chaos and fear, and what should be done about people infected with a highly contagious and incurable lethal illness. One console to rule them all?

2011-04-11T13:54:00.000-07:00

When Denis Dyack argued in favor of a "One Console Future" during the 2007 Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany, it was the first time many gamers had heard of the term. The public reaction was less than welcoming, with cries of monopoly and stagnant evolution at the forefront of counter-arguments. Nearly four years later, consoles are as divided as ever, but we're seeing some strides that suggest Dyack may have actually been right all along.

The concept of a standardized gaming platform isn't unprecedented. The 3DO was launched in 1993 by industry veteran Trip Hawkins, engineered to become a new console standard. Instead of handling all manufacturing in-house like Nintendo or Sega, other companies could buy a license to make a 3DO. Panasonic-made 3DO consoles were the most common, though we saw models from smaller companies like...Read More
