Eclectic Modern Living Room

If you guys remember, we bought this amazing tufted lime couch from Home Centre in July last year. I was super excited about decorating our upstairs living room, in our previous house. However we had to relocate to a rented place to be closer to work. So it took me a while to completely decorate our new Living room.

The TV stand is the side board from our previous bedroom. Our current master bedroom has enough storage, so we thought of using this piece of furniture as a TV stand in our living room.

We also recently bought this lovely grey day bed from Urban Ladder. There was a clearance sale, and we picked it up for a great bargain.. Its a perfect place to dose off while watching TV on a Sunday afternoon. Also acts as additional bed when we have more than 2 guests over.

The two ottomans act as our centre table. Provides additional storage , which is always great. Also its kids friendly without any sharp edges.

Hope you guys loved it.The color scheme is Yellow, Grey, Black and hint of turquoise.

Master Bedroom- A more neutral look

The furnitures remain the same. New bedding and styling changing to the side table. I love the new look. I feel its very fresh and inviting with minimal styling.This is Mridul's side of the bed.

Close up of the succulents. I don't know their names but I love them. They are very tiny now, hope they grow up fast and cover up the entire pot.

And this is my side. My bedside table is a storage ottoman.Yes, the side tables need not be matching. It can be anything that provides practical storage or a surface to hold family photos or anything you fancy. Mine has stack of book and a small tray to hold my jewelry that I remove at night.

Hope you guys loved the styling. Neutral- Wood tone, White and gold.

Quick 20 mins Porch makeover!

Since we don’t have a private backyard or a dumping ground , our front porch had to take the hit. Usual culprits were bags of soil from the nursery, gardening tools , outdoor broom etc. I ignored it for a while but when one of my dear neighbor politely commented I couldn’t be more ashamed. Ashamed and motivated to get to work right away and show some love to my front porch :)

I was just being lazy and not using the bags of soil. So they were used to fill all the new pots that we had purchased. So the first half of the Porch makeover was more of a gardening exercise. Then washed and cleaned the floor.

Out came the two cane chairs that were just lying around and collecting dust. Also came out those Terrecota pots that I had painted white and gold,long long time ago. Few more planter and plants and we were almost ready.

I don’t have a before picture, but I am sure everybody gets the idea. Now shall we look at some pretty ones!

Another one from a wider angle.

A lot of work needs to be done to call this project complete. Too much of orangish hues going on.

Would definitely change the chair cushions to a shade of blue.
Also hide/camouflage the electricity meter box. I need some clever ideas to make it work. May be I can hang a painting in front to hide it or cover it with a cane frame and mesh. Since there are live wires I don't want to drill to close to it. I will have to continue to brain storm a little more
Third would be to acid clean the floor and add an outdoor rug
I might also paint the cane chairs white or grey. Shabby chic style

Well it will take sometime for all this to materialized. But for now I am very happy that I have found a cozy place to sip my morning cup of tea or just sit and watch the rain !

A corner of our Master Bedroom

We bought a new sideboard quite a few months back. The sideboard was initially kept near the entryway , just next to the kitchen. Thought would be a storage place for my crockery and also act as additional counter space to the kitchen. But it was not a very good idea.

We don't have a very large kitchen and the front entrance is not that large either. So with a bottom heavy and totally closed dark wood sideboard was making the space even smaller and cramped. So moved it from the ground floor and up it came to our master bedroom.

There was a study table at this corner and I showed you guys the pics here. I liked the study table there but it made more sense for the sideboard to be placed against that wall.

I love this simple styling. This is my favorite of the different styling that I have done so far. The snake plant is going great here and I love the texture that the woven basket brings to the table. The basket is not that tall to cover the black pot inside it, but who cares. I love it the way it is!

The sideboard gives me an opportunity to change the style every now and then.This is how I styled it for Diwali

A very sweet friend of my brother's gifted me this lovely jewellery box. Isn't it just beautiful and cheerful.

There were few more styling but I missed clicking pics. Will let you all know if I change the sideboard decor anytime soon.

My Living room with a new look. DIY Sofa covers!

Melissa of The Inspired room created a community, neighborhood where people can share their home love stories and enjoy the stories of others.It is called Home love Stories. Although I posted about my living room there , I thought I should also share it in my own blog with a few more additional inputs.. You may check out my entry here.

My home is constantly evolving, with small additions every now and then. Some people have itch to buy new clothes, I have an itch to buy anything pretty for our home. Leave me at a interior store and I am just happy happy!

I have always bought things I love. Something that can be tweaked to give a brand new feel to it. I never buy something to fulfill a necessity. Our sofa that we bought in Chennai, still remains the same but it has a brand new sofa cover. And by now you guys might have guessed, I stitched the cover.

Wont you say, its not a bad attempt for a first timer , right??!!

Here is a photo for reminder of how the sofa looked back then in our Chennai living room.

This one is from our Bangalore apartment

From day one , I wasn't too fond of the cover but loved the clean wooden structure. I knew I would eventually change it with new upholstery. Was motivated to take the plunge when I found this light grey sofa fabric at a sale. It was 1500 INR for 3.5 meters I think. When I bought it, I knew it would only be sufficient for 6 covers. So I made 6 of them for the three seater sofa. The two single seaters still have the old covers will change it to a contracting colour later. May be Coral or apple green or may be even darker grey. I haven't decided it yet.

A cardboard always acted as a coffee table both at the chennai apartment and the bangalore apartment that we rented. When we shifted to our new home, we just had our Sofa set plus one side table as living room furniture.The coffee table,the blue Ottomans and the twisted side table were new additions.

The coffee table is from FabIndia. It was one of the first purchases when we bought this house. I bought it from a local outlet but is also available on their website online. As I bought it almost a year and a half back, think it was a thousand bucks cheaper.

Blue Ottomans from Lifestyle. Had an offer of buy one get one free. Got two for 2500 INR They are good for additional seating and I use one of them to store table linen and mats. The other to store clothes that I want to donate because of its accessibility. I need not go looking around when a volunteer from a charitable organization is over.

Garden Updates

I mentioned about 12 variety of plants and some 20 pots here and now there are few more additions.

First up a pink Plumeria (Firangi pani). It was quite small when I bought it. It was mine at just 30 bucks. Plumeria can cost upto 500 INR or more, depending on the size of the plant. I was sure, I didnt want to spend so much. I was looking for a small plant to nurture and watch it grow. That has been my mantra - buy when they are small and watch them grow. It is quite satisfying.

When I got the plumeria home it have just 4 leaves. I read that one shouldn't over water Plumeria because they are prone to root rot. So the first few weeks I was very careful not to overwater.

Observed that the leaves had started to droop and the stem had become wrinkly.

The plumeria pot was outside one day and it rained heavily. I was concerned that it would die because of excess water, but to my surprise the leaves became perky and the stem was plump and no longer wrinkly. Thats when I realized, I was starving the plant with so less water. You learn from experience! So I kept watering the plant regularly and few months later could see more leaves. I think leaves had increased to 8! Thats right, I was obsessed with this plumeria.

About two months back, observed the leaves had started to drop. The top most part of the stem had swollen abnormally(I don't have a picture of that stage ) I wondered, what went wrong again. My neighbor joked that its going to die! Finally the stem had slit into two and a few more weeks later this happened. Yay!!

Now for some low maintenance plants. I am in love with Sadabahar/Nayantara/ Periwinkle. I got two very tiny plants from my inlaws. They were not more than few inches tall.

Look how big they have grow!

I cannot emphasize the fact, how low maintenance they are.May be they are not a very fancy looking flower but i would definitely recommend them as they bring so much colour to your garden without any effort.

Mother in Law's tongue is another such plant. Just leave them in the sun and they are happy. You don't even need to water them so often. Looks great for a modern look.

Although these marigolds are not there anymore, just wanted to share because they were gorgeous.

Peek into our Master Bedroom

Welcome to take a peek into our master bedroom. It is still a work in progress but I am really happy with the colour palate and thought should share with all you guys.

We bought new furniture for the master bedroom and we are using the old ones in our guest bedroom.(You all can see our old master bedroom in the rented place here) I love solid wood furniture and they can be expensive specially Sheesham. Since my mantra is only to buy something that I really love so I don't hesitate to spend when I find one. This is Sheesham wood queen bed with storage. I know it is a keeper! Bought it at Home town on a zero interest EMI scheme so didn't feel the pinch :) Below is the bedroom from another angle.

The study table is also from Home Town and its Sheesham wood. It was on sale. Because of minor scratch it was from 6000 INR and I made it ours. The chair is one of our dinning table chairs.

The narrow chest of drawer beside the mirror is our first piece of furniture purchased online. Don't remember if it was from Pepperfry or Fabfurnish. Actually M purchased it and he doesnt remember. We can dig through emails to find out but too lazy. The mirror is from Lifestyle that we purchesed way back when we were in Chennai. So it is a mix of something new and something old

The side table to the right is from HomeStop. It is beautiful, carved out of a single piece of wood.( I dont have a close up pic of the table but will post one soon) A pair was for 5000 INR. The other one in our living room. The side table to the left is our old bedside table from Damro.

As I said it is still a work in progress. There would be few more changes and addition to be made. More coming up on the wardrobes that we are getting custom made. Will keep you guys posted. Bye now and wish you all a very Happy Dusshera

What made me smile today morning !

What made me smile today is this gorgeous little flower! It was an unexpected bloom that I saw in the morning while watering our garden . Got me super happy and excited.

Let me tell you the story about how this plant made it to our garden. In the month of May to celebrate our wedding anniversary we went to The Serai, Chikamanglur. It is a beautiful resort with beautiful gardens Without creating any more drama let me just say that I stole this plant from there. Below is the crime scene.

In my defense I didn't harm the plant or damage any landscape. Just picked one bulb. I would like to think of it as a complimentary gift to ourself for the hefty amount that we spent for our stay :)
I don't know the name of this plant. I know it is a common plant. Is it a lily? Can someone throw some light please.

Closet! Closet! Closet!

All I have been thinking of these days is about closets. With lot of pondering and second guessing have finally completed our master closet design.

We are using a three door ready made wardrobe at the moment and we intend to build a customized closet very soon. The space that we intend to build our master closet is long and narrow ( 96"X53"). Its is also a passage way that leads to the bathroom.

First I started with a L shaped design. A deeper storage in the shorter arm of L with double hangers, a corner storage connecting the longer and shorter arm and a narrower longer arm with lots of shelves. The deeper storage for hangers , open corner shelves and hinged door for the narrow longer arm. The shorter arm with the hanger space was common for both me and Mridul as it was the only one deep enough to hold hangers.

It got me thinking and I decided to edit the design to have two separate section for His and Her. It made sense to have separate section for both, each responsible for their own space. Nobody needs to be overwhelmed by the clutter created by the other. You guys might be thinking, separate closet space should have been my first choice from day one. No-brainer, right?! But I was too occupied about not building too deep a unit so that we have enough space in the passage way.

The decision to opt for a sliding door over the hinged one made my design simple. Now there would be enough space for the passage way as well as deep enough closet for the hangers. So two separate sections of 48 " long and 22" deep. No more L spaced closet It is a 96" long , 96" and 22" deep straight closet.

I used Maratha Stewart website to design the interior of the closet.

In the process of designing this closet, reading through articles and the discussions with the carpenter came across some good tips:

In india most of the closets that are custom made by carpenters are 24" deep by default. But after due calculation, I feel, 22" is a good enough depth to hold hangers. So it gives your room that extra 2" space.
A sweater once folder is 12" wide. So the width of the shelve should be in multiples of 12 to optimize space.
Optimal hight for a shelve is 10" to 12". It helps in easy storage and prevents a pile from toppling over.
Dimension of a standard plywood sheet: 96"X48" (8 Ft X 4 Ft)
For a hinged door, ideal width is 16" to 18"
For sliding doors, the bigger the width of the door, they are smother to slide compared to a narrower ones. Max width 48'

I was browsing through some old folders and found few photos which game me the idea to do a mini tour of our home. Most of these pics are about 6 months old and two rooms I dont think I have any pics primarily because they were just acting as a storage area. These photos were taken by my brother when he first visited our home few weeks after we moved in. So there were quite a lot of boxes to be unpacked, the space under the stair was a mess. My brother had click from the right angle to avoid the mess or the storage boxes.Glad the space under the stairs is now clean which I mentioned about here.

So lets check out my home.

Come on in through the front door.I mentioned about the front door and the accessories that I used in my earlier post.

Once you enter through the front door, it opens to the dinning area, open kitchen to your left and living room to the right.

If you are standing in the kitchen, this would be what you see.

Below is the guest bedroom. The door opens to the common backyard lawn.

Floor Vase

New addition to our home are three lovely earthen pots. I bought them from pottery lane in Bangalore.

To be frank I was disappointed with pottery lane. Somehow I had imagined it to have endless shops, to be the mecca of pottery. Instead there were only 4-5 shops selling pottery. Most of these bigger pots were made in Andhra and imported to Karnataka.

I scored five items for 450 INR- 3 vase in different sizes, a pot to make curd and a flat pan called Urali. I don't have the before pics but i guess you guys got the idea about the colour. They were the regular baked clay colour.

I painted the three vases. The products used for the project were a can of gold spray paint, insulating tape or a scotch tape and outdoor white paint Tractor Emulsion.

I plan on changing the colour as and when I feel the need for a change. For now they look like this, a combination of gold and white.

How did I spend my Sunday? Ans: Gardening

Yesterday was a lazy day and I did a bit of gardening. I am no expert on gardening but I love plants. Gardening is now my new favorite. I have been reading and endlessly looking at so many beautiful balcony garden that I absolutely adore. I don't have any plants on my balcony yet but it wont be the same for too long. I do have some plans up my sleeves for my balcony, more on that later.

I had tested my green thumb earlier which I mentioned about here however that wasn't a big success. I had to shift to bangalore because of work and lack of care was inevitable. I have now become bit more confident around plants. I read somewhere that more plants die because of over watering than lack of water and that is so true.

If I have to count, I have 12 variety of plants and some 20 pots. Most of them are now on the veranda facing the south because of abundance of sunlight.

My favorite at the moment is bougainvillea. The reason is very simple, not only are they pretty they are quite tough. If you neglect them and even forget to water them for a day or two they will survive pretty well. My bougainvillea was surviving well with lots of leaves but I was upset that there was no bloom. I read that watering it too ofter leads to ample leaves and less of bloom. Also bougainvillea love sunlight. Earlier the pot was in my front lawn which is north facing so got them near the common garden which is south facing. With ample sunlight and controlled watering, I have managed to get them to bloom.

I don't know the names of all the plants that I have.It would be great if you guys can help me identify them. I know only a few of them.

PS: Thats our neighbors kid helping me out. He is just 3 and its fascinating to see how he enjoys playing with mud and water.

Progress Update! Under the stair clean up.

To be honest I couldn't accomplish as mush as I wanted in the month of January. However I am glad I didn't fall of the wagon completely and managed to keep the momentum going on my mission to clean and get organized.

Under the Stair:
Living with the mess for more than 4 months, I couldn't take it any more. Started by organizing the mess under the stair. It had become the place for anything and everything from garden equipment's, tool box, diyas( earthen lanterns) wires, old boxes of the appliances we purchased. In short a total mess.

Here is how it looked.

First up were the old boxes. They contributed the most in terms of volume.
Old shoe box that I used previously to keep all the tools. It was in bad shade so it had to be discarded. The Purifier box, the OTG oven box all went out of the house into the dumpster.

Next I grouped and organized the tools. Although for the garden supplies I haven't found a permanent place yet, for now they have temporality found a home in one of the empty earthen pots in the car park.

Curtain rods, wooden planks went upstairs to the top most landing. So did the other tools like hammer, plier, screw driver etc. Organized the nails,wooden bits,switches in an old shoe box. The diyas were out since Diwali. So they went back inside a box awaiting to be opened during the next diwali.

Here is the space after the clean up. A pat on my shoulder and I am really happy that I finally cleared that area.

January Cure

I intend to take part and keep up with the January Cure on Apartment Therapy. The reason why I say 'intend' because last year I was all motivated to take part however it didn't work out. I was partially also motivated by our dear friend Arun and Suman's clean and spectacular house.This year I hope to make it through.

I am not the most organised person my nature and I am sure my gang (read Friends) couldn't agree more! Admitting that I am not the most organised person cannot take away the fact that I love all things pretty and beautiful, I love to decorate but fail to keep up to keep the place looking pretty for long.

So I thought participating in events like January Cure will keep me on my toes and the house organised and beautiful.

Assignment #1: Creating a Project List

There goes the list of things that I want to complete:

Entrance

Paint and hang the wall hanging on the front window
Add more planters to the railings (optional)
Get a foot mat
Seal the Front porch tiles with cement.and remove the paint marks

Kitchen

Organize cutlery
Arrange the tall unit

Clear the clutter off the kitchen slab

Stitch the curtain for the kitchen window

Permanently fix the sink pipe
Clean the washing machine and the clutter besides

That is all I can think of at the moment. I will add to the list if something crosses my mind.

Front View of our House

This is the front view of our House with our very own small private garden. The main entrance is not visible from this angle.

Here is our main door.

I added few accessories to personalize it. First being the little Rajasthani style wooden window that I placed over the peep hole.I picked it up from a shop in Pune. I don't remember of the shop now.

Second being the handmade nameplate.I will share how I made the name plate at a later post.

~~Fast~~ Last but on the least the small planter that hangs on the window railing was one of my little DIY project.I had a ceramic cup that M gifted me. The ceramic cup ~~that~~ had a steel handle. However few weeks back I accidentally dropped it and it broke. As it had sentimental value I wanted to reuse it. So used the steel handle and fixed it to a tin can and made it into a planter. The tin can is actually a Benetton watch box.

I intend to add few more planters to the window railings. I will post more pics once that is done. Adios for now. Do let me know that do you guys think of the look.

We bought something new!!

Yes , there is some exciting news. We bought something new..we bought a house! We had been looking to buy a house for more than an year. We were just exploring and not in a rush to buy. We had made up our mind to only buy if we saw value in a property. Sometimes we left the real estate prices were crazy and inflated beyond bounds. For a villa project, even during a pre launch state, the starting price would be 1.5 cr. It never made sense to us.We started our hunt keeping a budget of 40L and finally we managed to cross 60L.

The first project that we saw was Ganga Vertica, a project by Goyal Ganga group at Ecity. For a 2 BHK of 1015 sq ft the price quoted was close to 46 L.

Next up was Patel reality's Spondovil. A ready to move in flat of close to 800 Sq ft was for 42L. Although it had lovely window seats in all the three rooms, the major drawback was it had no balcony. Still we were contemplating on buying it because it was a ready to move in property and we could save on the rent. Now when i look back, I think we made the right choice by not going for it, would have been too cramped and would have been just waiting to move to a bigger place. However it had its plus, it was a property that would have appreciated much faster.

Then we started exploring properties in the north of Bangalore. We went all the way to visit Provident Wellworth. It seemed decent for the price however it was way out of the city. From future growth perspective it wasn't a very bad option as it was closer to the airport.

Another project that we absolutely loved was Zed collective. This was the first project that we just stumbled upon and was a lucky discovery. We were absolutely in love with it. Wooden floors, spacious 3 BHK. We also made an offer and were in discussions with the owner however it didn't work out.

Guess , we are made for lucky discoveries and that's how we landed at our current house. We had come to explore a different project by the name of Prakruthi Solitaire.We liked the project and the expected date of completion of the first phase was in about 6 months time. We felt that the price quoted was slightly expensive for the locality. On our way back we were just exploring the neighborhood when I spotted a sign board saying "2 BHK for 20 L" I thought what the heck , lets check it out. Area of 800 sq ft however didn't have a balcony. Not a bad option if you want to purchase it for letting it out on rent. Just opposite to the apartment were some cute looking villas. Saw another sign saying Villa for sale. I knew M was reluctant, but he went anyways. He asked me to guess the price of the Villa. I was tired of builders not quoting less that 1 cr for any villa project.So I was like, may be close to 1 cr. So when we came to know that it is for 62L, we got excited. Although it was way above out budget of 40 L, we saw value in it. For 62L we were getting a 1775 sq duplex house along with 1330 sq land. We were sold!!

DIY...Stitching a Pillow cover

I have a thing for beautiful pillow covers and if you want something different you wont get it cheap. So the best way to satisfy both your eyes and pocket is to stitch one. Ya I bought a stitching machine few months back and it wasnt seeing much action....So here comes my Pillow cover project.

The white self print cloth was for 150 INR and the black block print one for 80 INR a metre. I purchased a metre and half for the white one and one meter for the black one. I will be able to cut out 4 king size pillow cover. However I have decided to make 2 and used the remaining cloth for some other project.

Spray Paint Projects....DIY Vase

It all started when I decided to pay a visit to the new Bosch Store - DIY Square in Bangalore.Well it was interesting to explore the different tools that are there in the market for DIY project however it was way over my budget to purchase any of them. For now I am content with my small projects that I tend to complete on my own without indulging too much in tools.

Next to the DIY store was an paint store...for quite sometime I have been thinking of trying out some spray paint. So today was the day. Copper gold was my call, 270 INR for a can of spray paint. Although the MRP was 280 INR , the shop keeper wouldn't bargain unless I purchased more than 10 cans. Anyhow I was all excited to try out my new spray can, from the corner of my eye I saw a store named " Exotic flower cut shop". How could I resist a flower shop and to my surprize it was a whole sale outlet so the prices were really competitive. 30 bucks for a bunch of 10 Gerbera and 180 for a bunch of lilies.I couldn't have been happier!!

Once I reached home, I was all energized to take on my spray paint projects. As I had bought home fresh flowers, the first project I decided to take on was to make some vases.

Project # 1: Empty glass bottles + spray paint = Vase

It seemed like there was too much golden going on so I had to break the monotony. I added a strip of black. I wish to add more of black to the other vase as well, however today I got dizzy and tired and didn't have the energy to work on the other vase. I promise I will complete them tomorrow and post a pic as well.

Much needed love to our Master bedroom

I could have easily replicated the look in our previous master bedroom in Chennai. What gets me excited about moving on to a new apartment is the option that I get to mix things up and give a new look to make that apartment our home.

Our previous master bedroom mentioned here had a combination of red, black and white.

The master bedroom in our current apartment is coloured very light pink. So the combination that I thought would click was pink and blue.

This is how our bedroom looked few days after we moved in.AKA before

First went up these blue curtains which were used to cover the open shelves in our previous guest bedroom.

Next were the bedside tables. In our previous bedroom, we didn't have enough space for two bedside tables. Luckily in our current bedroom we do. Although the two bedside tables are not symmetrical however having one on each side of the bed helps to create balance.

This cane basket was originally made for my parents bedroom in Assam. Assam is really famous for cane work and I loved this basket to the core.So my mom handed me the same this time when I went to their place.Now its acts as a bedside table for my corner of the bed.Its quite handy to keep my glasses and magazines!

The new comforter is another addition to the our bedroom. I love the floral patter and I think it goes really well with the colour pallet. It surely brightens up the entire room. I comforter is from Portico and was on some 40% discount or so.

Next on my To do list is painting a large art work to be hanged over the bed.

Living Room update

Last post I shared a really boring and sad looking living room. It even looked worse because of the poor picture quality.

The picture of our living room seen on my last post was taken almost three months back and there has been few changes and addition to the room since then.

First was the addition of cushions to introduce colour to our otherwise monochromatic living room. I purchased these green cushions from Pune. They were on 50% sale. If I remember correctly I paid 500 INR for the cushion cover plus the cushion. I bought two of them.

The center table has changed.We now have a taller and rectangular center table compared to a previous low and squarish one. We still have to find a center table that we love and would like to bring home. So the hunt is still on.

So it went from this

You do see another addition to the seating arrangement..a cane chair. This chair belongs to the set of four chairs that I bought recently. I feel placing one of them in the living area helps to unify with the dinning area. Will write more about these chairs in a different post.

Adding accessories definitely helps to balance and brighten up any room. The green vase is a gift from a friend. Managed to hang a painting on one of the walls. I wish to hang few more art pieces soon.

This living room is far from finish. A lot of tweaks and addition to be done. However for now do you guys like the new colour palate in our living room? What are the colours in fashion for this season? Welcome your suggestions and ideas..

Tackling one room at a time..First up the Living room

This time my plan was to tackle one room at a time. I had to throw a house warming party.So the obvious choice was to start with the living room.

The first step was to decide on whether or not to keep the television in the living room followed by the furniture arrangement. This time we decided to keep the television in the living room instead of in the bedroom for obvious reason, the pleasant weather. In chennai we never wanted to step out of our air conditioned bedroom and here in bangalore every room seems to be naturally air conditioned.

I decided to make television the focal point and arranging the furnitures around. After rearranging the furniture few times I finally arrived at an arrangement that I love.I am no pro so i have to do a lot of rearranging until something clicks for me. I like this arrangement for three particular reasons

I dont really like symmetry however I also like balance. The furniture arrangement is not symmetrical over it looks well balanced.

Also a good arrangement for conversations

I am sure it will evolve over time but this is how it looks at the moment. The colour palate remains almost the same as our previous living room. I want to add colour to room may be through cushions or paintings.

Get a centre table
Add a large plant at one corner of the room
Add more art
