After some careful consideration and soul searching I have decided that I do want to continue with this blog but switch up the content a bit. This is what I have in mind... I currently have a lot of different types of blogs I follow (126 to be exact! *gasp*) and read so many great posts! I have decided to start sharing some of the things that inspire me and will be doing different blog topics that will not all be stitching related. I will still include my stitching and crafts because it's something I really enjoy but I also want to add a bit of variety to what I am posting. I hope that by doing this that I'm able to blog more frequently and have something interesting to say since when I'm not doing stitching there isn't much material to blog about. For those that do come here for stitching I hope you continue to enjoy visiting.

Speaking of stitching, I have actually completed something and am waiting to see if the SUN ever decides to come out again (hope I don't have to wait to terribly long!) I need to take some pictures to post but the lighting is terrible. I'm excited to have finally finished something after such a long break from stitching.
I've included a little sneak peek for you...

*Hint* it's a Prairie Schooler design!

Once I get that done I will start adding new content. I'd really like to start blogging again ... but can't until I have it organized just right ;) I only have about 80 posts to go through... that shouldn't take to long , right?

Because I like to include photos, I'm including a picture of the canadian geese we visited at a nearby pond recently.
I see for some reason a lot of my pictures are not loading or showing up? Seems to be the ones I uploaded through blogger. I will try to go back to those posts and see if I can fix them or upload them from another site. I will work on this as I have time. A quick update on me, I have been actually stitching ( I know, I'm shocked too!) and I plan to update with that soon as well. I guess I haven't given up on my blog (or stitching) after all ;)

*edit* I figured it out and now I'm going back and fixing the pictures. Seems it was my own doing... I was consolidating online photo albums and deleted or moved pictures. I'm in the process of moving everything to picasa and fixing as I go. Hopefully all will be well when I'm done *crossing my fingers*

On one hand I am considering closing down this blog... I am not stitching as much as I used to and therefore don't really have much to put on here... I'm not even sure anyone comes by anymore to read my non-posts. On the other hand, I've thought about turning this into a more general blog, but not sure I have anything interesting to say, I've never really been a writer... as most of you can probably tell LOL. I don't take many pictures lately, I haven't been doing as much crafting or baking/cooking either... I am not sure how I feel about posting things regarding our family life, so that isn't an option at this point... I do use Facebook (if you'd like to friend me, let me know) and spend some time there. The things that seem to be keeping me busy lately are getting my business going, making our house a home and a lot of self-development, maybe throw in some fitness and lifestyle changes in there too. I really love the idea of blogging and I LOVE reading blogs, even if I haven't made much time lately to do that (I have 800+ in my reader at the moment waiting to be read). I'm just really struggling on what to do.
I don't like going months on end without posting anything at all, but I also don't want to throw something up there just to have something posted. Decisions, decisions, I'm so bad at making them!

I will ponder this some more and make a decision (don't hold your breath on that decision right away... I am part Libra after all LOL). If you have any thoughts or suggestions I'd be happy to hear them!

Thank you for stopping by!

As promised, here is my small update on A Prairie Year. I started and completed June, and have now begun July (I did August in August of 2008 *gasp* that's how long it's been since I stitched). I was going to take pictures of the other WIP I had, but I noticed when I pulled them out that they look exactly like they did in this post. So, until I have new progress on them, I will wait to update those. Hope everyone had a great weekend! I'm off to get a bit of stitching in before bedtime. Thanks for stopping by!

Things have been a bit on the crazy side and I don't expect them to get better for awhile. We are in the midst of trying to sell our home (not great timing for this!) because my husband has gotten a long awaited transfer to Edmonton (great timing for this!). So, unfortunately for me, I haven't been doing any stitching. In fact, I'm still trying to go through and weed out things that I no longer want or need so that I don't have to move as many things. I can't say when I'll be back to blogging, but I know it won't be until after we move and get settled most likely. I'm still enjoying reading blogs when I have a free moment or two and still love seeing what everyone is up to. I hope this finds you well, that is if anyone still visits here... Well, back to work for me. I'll update as I can! This time of year always seems strange to me. Here in Canada, Thanksgiving is celebrated the 2nd monday in October. After 11 years you would think I'd have adapted to that, but I guess spending 37 years in the states has left a permanent mark. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday spent with friends and family. Wish I could be spending it with my family, but I'll be thinking of them all and hope to one day be there to celebrate with them again.

Secondly, I have no pictures... I have been so busy I have not even stitched one single stitch. Since last posting I have studied for, taken and passed my 4 hour provincial exam for my life insurance license. I am now official, yay! I am working to build my business with Primerica and that has not left a lot of personal fun time. However, I know that eventually that will change. I am really enjoying what I do so far and am looking forward to the day I will be able to quit my day job and do my business full time. There is great satisfaction in helping families become debt free, planning for retirement, investing for their future & helping them to protect what they have. I am learning so much and still have so much to learn, it's a great thing!

I'm sure I don't have to say it, but I also have not had much time for blogs lately. I do try to read when I have time, but with studying and such, that time has been minimal. With the holidays here now (how did that happen so quickly!?) I imagine I won't have much extra time, but know that I pop in when I can, even if I don't comment. Maybe someday in the future I'll have time to keep up better with my blog, stitch and even read and comment on blogs regularly, wouldn't that be fantastic!

Well, back to work for me. Enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday if you are celebrating it and if not, have a fantastic weekend! Thank you as always for stopping by for a visit!

Great way to end the summer. I've put up about 30 Prairie Schooler charts if anyone is interested. I was able to do a bit of stitching while we were away as well. I'm sorry my pictures are not very good, but I was in a bit of a rush when I took them.

I had a new start, Spring Violets from Country Cottage Needleworks. I received this chart from Michelle in an exchange and I am loving the way it is stitching up. It's my first and only CCN and I think I will have to do more of them. Thank you so much Michelle for sending it to me! I'm using the required colors and it's being stitched on a CountryStitch fabric, but since I'm at work, I am not sure of the color.

I continued working on A Prairie Year by Prairie Schooler. I forgot to bring my working copy of June and July, so I did August instead. I have included a picture of August and also one of how it looks with everything stitched so far.

Last but not least, I am including a picture of my Angel. I didn't work on her while I was away, but I haven't posted a picture of how she looks for quite awhile. I am almost done doing the Kreinik and just have a small amount left on the bottom of the skirt. Then it's onto the beading, which I've never done before. Beading should be interesting!

This is short and sweet since I'm at work, but wanted to update everyone on my progress. Before leaving for Edmonton I was all caught up on blogs... since returning I'm playing catch-up again! I have almost 900 updates to read, so I'm not sure how long that will take or how much commenting I'll be able to do. I very much enjoy reading how everyone is doing, so please know I'm reading and enjoying it all. Thank you for stopping by, I appreciate that you do, even if I'm not such a great blogging friend and comment often. Have a great week!

I work from midnight to noon friday/saturday and saturday/sun. My first time was last weekend and it wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. The great thing about this job is that I only answer phones and when not doing that I can do whatever I like. I am using my time to catch up on blogs. Last weekend I had 1000+ feeds in my google reader. By the end of my shift on sunday I was down to 500 LOL. This weekend I hope to clear out the rest & then maybe do some stitching, I brought a few WIP's with me, just incase. This job is on an "as needed" basis so I won't be working every weekend, but the extra money is nice and the quiet time to do what I want is too. I won't be working another weekend until September though.

I have a trip out of town planned for next week and my daughter and I will be gone for about a week and a half or so. First time I've left DH by himself in the 10 yrs we've been married, wonder what he'll do LOL. No wife and no DD, he'll probably live in front of the computer LOL. I'm sorry I have no pictures for this post, I haven't been doing any stitching, all my extra time has been spent setting up eBay auctions. I had no idea it could be so time consuming, but I have sold quite a few charts and some of my extra fabric, but have a lot more to go. I put more auctions up yesterday so we'll see how they do.

I'm hoping once school starts in September to have more time to keep up with blogs and such, I know I always say that, but maybe if I keep saying it... it will actually happen? Please say yes! LOL. Well, gonna go tackle some more blog reading! Have a great weekend wherever you are, it's been so darn hot here lately, but hot is better than snow! LOL

I was lucky enough to win her Bloggaversary drawing, and this is what she made and sent for me. It is a Lizzie Kate design with a lovely sentiment and she's made it into a Pin Keep. This is my first ever pin keep! I've never made one, but always wanted to. Can you believe this is her first one? Her stitching and finishing is just beautiful and if you click on the picture and look closely, shes even put our initials on the tea cups, how cute is that? Lynn has also posted pictures of it on her site as well, go give her a visit! Thank you so much Lynn for your beautiful stitching and friendship, both will be treasured always!

I have decided to take the plunge and de-stash a lot of my charts, supplies, fabric and whatever else I can purge. Currently I've only managed to get some charts up, it's definitely a work in progress. It's taken me an incredible amount of time to purge, scan and list everything so far. As time allows ( I hope to add at least a few things everyday) I will be adding in new things, and there will be a lot. I'm determined to get rid of about 80% of what I have in the craft room. I hardly ever go in there now because it's not relaxing nor a creative environment. Help me please! LOL.

Well, I hope it isn't such a long time till my next post, but things are still crazy busy with school being out, decluttering, and I may be starting a new job on the weekends. So, I won't promise anything because , well, I just won't LOL. Calgon take me away!

Hope everyone is or has had a lovely weekend, and as always, thank you for visiting me!

I ended up getting DH's nasty cold and I spent the entire month of March and half of April sick with not one, but two nasty colds. I haven't had a cold in years, so I suppose I was due, however I would rather not be that "lucky" again for a very long time LOL.
We ended up going away to Edmonton for Easter which was a nice get away. The weather was nice and we did get a bit of shopping in at my favorite place, West Edmonton Mall, as well. I was lucky in the fact that I had just gotten over cold #1 a few days before our trip but cold #2 appeared on the day we arrived home.

I have continued to slowly keep plugging away at decluttering my home. DD's school, which is brand new was having a garage sale to raise money for playground equipment. Here when the schools are built, the community is responsible for providing a playground & equipment. Hearing this news put me into full drive on clearing out things. DD and I went through the garage first... when we moved here 3 1/2 years ago we had packed a lot of her toys in the large rectangular rubbermaid boxes and for one reason or another they were never unpacked. There were 4 of these boxes (yes, she is very spoiled, but these were a good part of all her toys from birth up to age 6, I had never really gotten rid of anything *gasp*) We went through them all and I'm proud to say that she only decided to keep about a grocery bag full of items and the rest went to her school for the garage sale. I proceeded to clean & organize the rest of the garage and found quite a few more things to add, as well as more from the house. When all was said and done, it all filled up DH's Ford Explorer and my Hyundai Tuscon to the brim with bags, furniture, odds and ends. I was so glad to contribute to something worthwhile & get rid of lots of things as well. Now, all I have left to truly go through is my office (still lots of files and 10+ yrs of papers to shred & file) and my craft room (this will be last because I know it will be the hardest to go through, evidenced by the fact that I keep putting off doing it because I can't make decisions LOL).

May 23rd was my DD's 10th birthday and she wanted a party! She and a few of her friends are Pokemon crazy and so we proceeded to have a Pokemon party. We invited 4 of her friends and I found lots of pokemon games to play. Some of the games we played were Pokemon Bingo, , DD and I drew a large Pikachu for pin the tail on the Pikachu, What Pokemon am I? (I printed off pictures onto sticker paper & they were stuck on their backs, and they had to take turns asking yes or no questions to figure out which one they were), Pokemon balloon pop (a pokemon picture was put inside one balloon before blowing up & whoever sat and popped that one got the prize) and we had a Pokemon cake, Pizza, Punch & a snack tray. I also made them up little pokemon gift bags with stickers and a package of Pokemon cards as well as other gifts to take home. We played "Hot Pokemon" to decide who's gift would be opened, played to the Pokemon CD my daughter has. All in all it was a fun time and the feedback from the guests was great and I think everyone had a fun time.

Since my last post I have also become the owner of a new camera. I love my old camera an HP Photosmart 618 but it was showing its age and I wanted to try a new camera. Enter the Samsung S85 . I actually wasn't looking for a new camera but the opportunity presented itself for me to get the S85 for a good price and so I bought it. Now the challenge is to learn how to use it! I have slowly been trying to learn all it's new features, but I still don't think I take very good pictures!

Stitching.. well, there hasn't been enough of that. I did complete the May square on my A Prairie Year, sorry the picture is a bit blurry.. new camera remember? LOL

I also completed all the Kreinik on my In the Arms of an Angel and now have just the beading left. I am not sure if I made a mistake or not with the Kreinik however. I stitched it all with just one thread of the Kreinik and now I am not sure if I was supposed to stitch it with two? There is no possible way I am going to go back and take it all out, so it will have to be good enough, but my perfectionism is nagging at me about making a possible mistake on it *sigh*. I have to take it off the scroll frame to re-position it for the beading and will take a picture of it then to share.

Most recently I've decided to attempt to become a financial consultant. I will have to start studying hard to aquire my license, so how I'm going to fit that all in, I don't know! It could mean my own business and also me learning about the different aspects of finance, which is something I have thought about doing for awhile, so we shall see what it all brings me. Oh, the flowers at the top of this post were given to me by my trainer/mentor, aren't they beautiful?

If you've read this far in my huge catch up, I thank you! I am looking forward to a relaxing, quiet weekend. I hope to even get some stitching in tomorrow night, wish me luck!

Thank you for stopping by & I know I haven't been commenting on blogs lately... I'm trying to catch up with everyone once again and hope to be able to do that again soon. Know that I'm continualy amazed with everyones beautiful projects and always enjoy reading your blogs!

Until next time, which I hope will not be as long...

p.s. I had more pictures to add, but blogger is not letting me. I'll try to come back to edit and add later if it allows me to. I am really enjoying this, but it takes me longer to do a house than I thought it would. I'm stitching it on 32 ct lambswool linen, it's coming out so small, but I like it!

I am still procrastinating on doing the metallics and beads on In the Arms of an Angel... I have not been feeling 100% well today so I think I'll dub this a lazy weekend and try to pull it out and give it a try. If I do, I'll be sure to update with a picture.

Last night I did start the May block on my Prairie Schooler - A Prairie Year. I will probably continue on with that tonight and if I do start the beads and metallics, get a fresh start on that tomorrow.

Not to much else going on to speak about, I had to work every day this week due to my co-worker being out of town. I am so not used to that, I like only working 3 days a week LOL ! DH had a rough week, he had quite a few long days at work. Tuesday he went in at 10am and didn't return home till 2am on Wednesday, then back to work at 11am and not home again till after 9 that night. He's on days off now, but is running a fever and coughing, I hope he's feeling better soon, we've all be very lucky so far and no one has been ill this winter (I'm knocking on wood! LOL). My DD came home from school sad and crying today. She had taken one of her favorite stuffies to school and someone took it. She couldn't understand why someone would take it when it didn't belong to them, I hated having to explain why that happens and who knows, maybe it will show up again. I know it probably won't, but it's a lesson for her, even if it's not such a great one *sigh*

Thank you all for the recent comments! I never really expect to get any, so when I do, I enjoy it so much. Thank you Barbara for your kindness, you are so sweet and I love reading your blog as well!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. They have issued a winter storm warning for tomorrow. It's been above 0 all this week, so I hope it's not to bad. I was just starting to think maybe spring was around the corner, but then I remembered I live in the great white north of Canada now, and not San Diego anymore!

Off to go do some stitching!

How do I pick just 7? LOL

Here are the rules:
1. Once you are tagged, link back to the person who tagged you.
2. Post THE RULES on your blog.
3. Post 7 weird or random facts about yourself on your blog.
4. Tag 7 people and link to them.
5. Comment on their blog to let them know they have been tagged

I'm not going to tag anyone (I know, I'm such a spoil-sport, but I've seen this on lots of blogs and I don't want to re-tag someone who's already been tagged. Of course if you'd like to play along, please do and comment and let me know so I can compare my weirdness! LOL)

My Weird Things
1. I can't think of one food item that I don't like. My mom always made us try everything and always clean our plates, so because of that I can't think of anything at all that I would say "I don't like/eat that!" However, the down side to that is my on-going issues with weight.

2. I don't really like to talk on the phone and don't call friends and family as much as I should. I think this stems from the fact that I worked for the phone company as an operator and service rep for so long.

3. I like new clothes but I absolutely despise going to buy them. I almost never try on clothes, I don't like that part at all. When I do buy them, more times than not, I don't like how it looks/fits when I get it home. I rarely return them, because that means I would have to go back to the store. So, this means I have a very small choice of things to wear. I tend to wear my 'favorites' over and over till they fall apart or look to bad to wear out anymore. Funny thing is while I was losing the 165 lbs, I thought I would love to shop for new clothes, but nope, I still detest it LOL.

4. I am a hermit at heart. I would love to never have to leave my house. I love my house, I love staying home and am never bored. I have so many things I can and want to do, I'd could be busy for the rest of my life. The down side to this is I don't really have any friends, save people I know at work, and that isn't socially. This is my own fault, and it is sometimes lonely, but I always have my family and lots of things to stay busy with.

5. I grew up going to church every Sunday but that stopped about the time I was 16. I have only been back a few times since. I feel I am religious, I try to live my life the way I think God would want me to, but am shy and have a real hard time getting up the nerve to look for a church to belong to. I really need to get over this, because I think my daughter would like to go and I want her to go, unfortunately my DH would almost never be able to go with us because of his job, he works most Sundays. Also, see above, I like to stay home.

6. I am terrible at cleaning house. I detest housework and will avoid (procrastinate) doing it till I can't stand it anymore. Funny thing is most of my friends think I'm a neat freak and tell me my house isn't dirty, but I know better LOL. Maybe I just have set my standards to high for myself?

7. I'm a pretty shy person but no one ever thinks I am. Once I get talking I'm fine. I would love to be more 'out' there in the online community. Posting to the message boards I visit, posting on my blog more, being more of a presence online and definitely commenting more on the blogs I love to visit. However, I feel like I'm a boring person at heart and that most people would not be interested in my day to day goings on and I don't feel I'm a very good writer or that I express myself very well (How's that for a huge sentence!).

OK, there are my weird things, at least the things I think are weird about me. That was harder to do than I thought!

Remember to leave a comment if you choose to participate.

I snagged this list from Barbara's blog and thought it would be interesting to do. I just have a few more motifs I want to finish and then I will take a picture to share. I'm not sure what I will pick up next, if you haven't noticed I've been procrastinating about working/finishing my In the arms of an angel. I hate that I'm doing that, but I'm feeling intimidated about doing the metallics and beads still. Maybe I'll just pick it up and try!

Thank you for stopping by and visiting. I am the worlds worst procrastinator! There, I've said it. If I could figure out how not to procrastinate about everything, I would be so much happier in life. I procrastinate about everything. For instance, here I sit, thinking about what a terrible procrastinator I am instead of doing the things I NEED to be doing. I always have such grand plans of things that I want to be doing, need to be doing but do I do them...NO! I seem to rather like sitting around planning what I need to do instead of actually doing it. What made me this way? I have no idea, but I sure would like to find a way to fix it. If I wasn't such a huge procrastinator I would have a clean organized house, I would have meal plans in place, a grocery list each time I went to the grocery store, a schedule of when to do something and a list of everything that needed done, I would actually post on my blog more than once a month... and so many more things I 'think' about all the time. If I wasn't a procrastinator my craft area would be organzied & I would utimately (at least in my own mind) have more time to do the things I enjoy doing instead of worrying about all the things I need to do that remain undone. What is my favorite thing to do while procrastinating you ask? Why, spending time on the computer! This is a double edged sword. While visiting blogs and websites I find lots of things to add to my "I want to do that - I want to make that" list. And the cycle of procrastination goes on. Am I procrastination right now? You betcha! LOL So, I'm going to try to pry myself away from the computer and do something I need to do, it won't be fun, and I probably won't enjoy it (maybe that's why I'm such a procrastinator, all the things I need to do are un-fun (is that a word??) things I feel I have to do before I can do fun things, hence I never get to do most of the fun things!) but maybe if I take baby steps towards learning not to procrastinate, I can overcome it!? I've decided to shame myself by including pictures of my attempt at organizing. These are of my craft room, or what will someday be my craft room. Notice that it's spilled out into our family room, as I attempt to go through, sort, make new piles etc so I can procrastinate in a new area what to do with all this stuff!

**Barbara, in answer to your question... While procrastinating yesterday (LOL) I came up with the idea to sell items online in an Etsy shop. I have been slogging my way through attempting to organize my craft room lately. I have so many craft supplies that sit in there unused, much to my embarrassment. My brainy idea is that maybe I can actually 'use' some of those supplies to make things and sell instead of just giving away all the supplies. Lets see if I can actually stop procrastinating and get off my rump and make a go of it. Only time will tell, wish me luck LOL!

Oh, and if I succeed in not procrastinating for awhile today, perhaps I can take a picture of my DT Samplar Gameboard to share with you all in my next post. I should also add if you have any suggestions for dealing with/getting rid of procrastination, please give a girl (me) a clue LOL.

As always, thank you for stopping by, especially if you made it through this rant of a post, my 'outloud' thinking for today.

As you can see above I've called it "Heart to Heart". I'm going to try to make a go at creating an online business and wanted to use the same name I've chosen for that. I hope this does not cause any confusion.

On another note, I have been stitching a bit on my Drawn Thread Sampler Gameboard and hope to post an update soon. I may or may not get a chance to stitch on it this weekend... it just depends. My mind is filled with new "business possibilities and ideas" at the moment, and they are screaming to get out. We'll see where this takes me and if anything comes of it (crosses fingers and toes).

Hope you all have a lovely, warm weekend, it's finally warmed up here, if you can call -2c warm... beats the -43c we had just 2 weeks ago!

This is stitched on 28 Ct. Oyster Linen from CountryStitch using DMC. Mine is a variation on the Autumn theme. The colors I used in order are 3865, 3053, 3031, 680, 3051, 3855, 3853 and 3839. This has been a long standing WIP and I'm so happy to finally have it completed. I'm not sure how I will finish it yet, possibly framed or made into a bell pull.
p.s. I have opened an account on Flickr and am testing posting from there to my blog, we'll see how it works! I hope to get busy working on my In the Arms of an Angel soon.
