India celebrating the Rabindranath Tagore's 150th birth anniversary. On this celebration Reserve Bank of India launched the 150 Rupee coin in the memory of Nobel Winner Sir Rabindranath Tagore. Newly launched 150 Rupee coin is about 40 mm in diameter and It's weighs is about 35 grams. The coin of 150 Rupee contain Rabindranath Tagore image on one side and on another side it will contain the image of Ashok Stambha.

Last week, a series of flash floods and mudslides struck the Serrana mountain region near Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, destroying buildings roads and more. Nearly 14,000 people are now homeless, 759 are reported to have been killed and another 400 remain missing in this, Brazil's worst-ever natural disaster. As soldiers make their way to remote towns with aid and transportation, Brazil's government has said it would accelerate efforts to build up a nationwide disaster-prevention and early-warning system. The demand for energy is escalating on a daily basis. Thus, with this rate of energy consumption, it is estimated that the reserves of oil, natural gas and uranium would be completely exhausted by the year 2050. It takes millions of years for these sources to accumulate in the earth crust, thus the need for new energy sources is imperative. This is where renewable resources step in. Besides being sustainable, renewable energy sources are also eco-friendly. This is because fuels aren't burned, so there is no chance of harmful green house gases being released.

Moreover, the byproducts of these energy sources don't pose any harm to human health. Take for example hydrogen. The byproduct of this source is water. The biggest issue in energy generation through non-renewable resources is the disposal of waste. Wastes generated from nuclear plants are potential carcinogens with many other serious implications on people's health. Though the human race is busy in devising new methods and technologies in order to shift towards renewable energy sources, a complete transformation is not possible before a few years. But it's quite possible to employ renewable energy sources for the energy requirements of the domestic and the small industries.

Reducing Dependency on Non-renewable Resources
We can reduce our dependence on non renewable resources as avoiding them completely is not possible. We would be less vulnerable if we go for renewable energy sources. For example, remember the big blackout of 2003, which took out millions of homes in North America. It wouldn't have been such a big deal if we weren't all dependent on the grid. Every day we exploit so many non renewable energy sources, thus ending up using the energy others can benefit from. Take for instance Las Vegas. The energy requirements of that city are sufficient for a third world country.

Use of Solar and Wind Energy for Small Scale Application
Solar energy is an unlimited resource and it could be harnessed right from the roof of your home. The rooftop solar panels could suffice the energy needs of a home. A research is underway in this regard, and it employs panels which work on the process of photosynthesis. The process involves the splitting of water, thus yielding a hydrogen fuel.

The systems would use energy from intermittent sources, like sunlight or wind, to create hydrogen fuel, which could then be used in fuel cells or other devices to produce electricity or transportation fuels as per requirement. The wind turbine could either be roof mounted or mast mounted. Initially, this could be used as a standby power generation system in small industries. After it proves its worth, this storage system could finally be used to replace the non renewable system. This way, small scale industries could become independent and self sustainable in terms of energy generation.

As for domestic use, the energy entrapped from solar panels or wind turbines could be stored in tanks by simply supplying them with water. The resulting hydrogen fuel could later on be fed to the fuel cell, where it could be used to generate electricity.

The only feasible way to meet the overall energy requirements of the world is by using non renewable energy resources. The fact that they are clean, abundant and comparatively cheap makes them an ideal choice for the future.

The demand for energy is increasing with each day all over the globe. With the depletion of natural resources for power generation, renewable energy remains our only savior. This form of energy generates energy in a manner that has a less negative impact on the environment. It can also be referred to as the cleaner fuel of the future. As for the conventional means, well, they were never the best resources for energy generation. The most promising forms of renewable energy sources are the sun and the wind. The reason for this is that both these sources have immense potential for energy generation. Yet despite their benefits, both these resources remain untapped till date.

The main aim for energy generation through renewable resources is to create power that causes less pollution. In comparison to other industrial activities, power generation at present is one of the biggest causes of pollution. The pollutants are usually the by-products or waste materials that are generated from the burning of conventional fuels like coal, petroleum and gasoline. As opposed to this, the bi-products generated from renewable sources do not pose any harm to the environment.

Relief can be obtained from the fact that there is a growing positive attitude among people towards renewable resources. It is believed to be the greener form of energy by many people. Green energy supporters advocate the use of these sources for greater good. Implementing them for deriving energy can aid the process for the preservation of our planet for a longer duration. You might think that the earth is already damaged, however this is an attempt to salvage what is left of the place people life in. As there is acceptability widespread acceptance of renewable resources, installing them for the domestic and small scale industrial use would surely be the way to begin.

It might also interest you to know that green energy does not only mean the construction of heavy investment power plants for electricity generation. You can also dwell on other ideas for energy generation or preservation. Just imagine the future prospect of an architectural design that can save energy otherwise used for air-conditioning or heating system. Therefore, instead of having a centralized power supply, you can go for discrete energy generation. A residential area or house could be covered with solar panels for the purpose of collecting energy to meet the local electricity needs. The extra amount of energy produced this way is not wasted, but could be sent back through the local power grid. This energy could then be utilized at other destinations.

Nature has given mankind a last chance in the form of renewable energy resource to save the planet. The damages done through the usage of conventional fuels could only be reversed if people try to reduce their dependence on them. The Law of Attraction states that ‘like attracts like.’ But what does this mean and how does it apply to situations in life? Let’s take Rick and Sam. Both of them are tired of their job as salesmen for a big corporation, and both want to start a new business. Sam thinks that it would be a great idea, but that it’s really impossible.Rick decides that although he has no employees, infrastructure, or money, it’s going to happen. On the way home from a conference in another city, Sam is sitting next to Bill. Sam is tired and grumpy, thinking about his crummy job and how he wants out. Bill leans over to start a conversation but Sam turns away, looking out the window. After the plane lands Sam is waiting for his ride when a woman bumps up against him. “Sorry,” she says, and is about to make chit–chat, but Sam is irritable and moves away.When Bill leans over to talk to Rick, however, Rick is receptive, for he has been making plans during the entire flight and is feeling juiced. They shoot the breeze for a while and Bill mentions that he’s about to retire after 30 years from a well paying executive position. It turns out that Bill, in his late middle age and with a fat bank account, finally wants to take some risks in his life; he’s tired of his corporate job and is looking for a challenge in his retirement. Bill, in his fantasies, has always dreamed of managing a small start–up but never had the guts to do so before. Now he’s ready. Rick and Bill get excited about Rick’s new venture and exchange email addresses.What happened? Sam’s very strong desire for a new business put him within vibrational reach of Bill, but Sam’s decision that it’s hopeless sabotages the opportunity. The woman who bumped Sam is a software engineer who is also looking for a new opportunity, and might have made a good employee or partner in Sam’s business. That’s how the law of ‘like attracts like’ works. Through a series of seeming ‘coincidences,’ based upon the content of your conscious vibrational signal, you meet up with people with matching, or similar, desires to yours. It’s your free will decision to take advantage or not, but one thing is for sure: Rick is going to have a lot easier time of it than Sam creating his new company.The thing is, you never have a clue about how this works unless you are vibrationally ready for it! A guy like Sam would say that it’s total nonsense. And for him, it IS nonsense! If Sam continues to focus more on his crummy job than on the new business he wants to create, he will no longer even meet up with people like Bill, for they will be completely outside of his vibrational bandwidth His friendship with Rick will also suffer, for Rick will want to hang out with someone whose outlook is more congruent with his.Sam will probably find himself associating more and more with people just like himself: disgruntled and dissatisfied workers who have given up on their dreams.The Law of Attraction is your obedient servant, but it always matches you up with your true vibration. Despite the apparent unfairness and injustice in the world, the Law of Attraction is scrupulously fair, and does not discriminate against anyone.Sam would probably disagree! Even though Sam wants to change, he is unwilling to do the necessary inner work to alter his state of being. And this is quite understandable, for Sam, during the course of his life, has gotten into a habitual pattern of self-limiting thought. Sam knows that it’s very hard to change, for he has observed his father over the years struggle with his business and his family relationships. Sam just knows, deep down inside that change is difficult.Sam’s belief sets up a vibrational pattern of thought, attitude, and emotion that is vibrationally matched by the LOA and is reflected in the people he meets and the situations he finds himself in.Rick, on the other hand, makes his decision for positive change and keeps his focus on the goal. Rick gets up joyfully every morning with his new business in mind, and he’s constantly coming up with new ideas. His new attitude makes him a better employee at his present job as well, and he receives a raise. For Rick, life is grand!The good news for Sam is that when he truly decides to change positively, his life will begin to mirror those changes. But Sam has to get some new thoughts first! He cannot spend 95% of his time in frustration and expect that Law of Attraction to magically give him his new business. Like Rick, he has to make his dreams the predominant focus of his conscious attention. When he does that, Sam will, like Rick, begin to magically meet up with the people and the resources he needs. Your work is to align your thoughts with your desires. When this happens, you will notice an inner excitement, and a desire to get into action. Those actions will be lined up with the goal, and will proceed along the path of least resistance. Manifestation must inevitably follow.

Open Letter To Your Parent Abroad -- You Are Losing Your Kids To Western Culture

Many Yorubas have been traveling outside Nigeria for quite some time for leisure, business, and education. Through many of those years, cultural identity was not an issue because the African communities were transitory. Many people did not even come with their families. Many Yorubas did not want to live far away from home for long. This mind-set is reflected in a Yoruba proverb that says, "Ajo ko le dundun, ki onile ma re'le," "No matter how pleasant and enjoyable your sojourn abroad has been, you must return home

But in the last couple of decades, more and more Yoruba people have been migrating permanently to the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and the rest of the world. Due to unbearable economic and political conditions in their home countries, they have been making their homes and raising their families in western world. The feeling these days is expressed in this Yoruba saying that contrasts sharply to the earlier one: "Ibi ti aiye ba ba'ni, ni a ti nje," "Home is wherever you find life in abundance.

The Yorubas settling outside their home country have had to deal with a sense of cultural dislocation, as a result of being immersed in a varied and very different cultural enviroment. Yoruba descendants express a common passion for passing on their language & culture to their children, for the sake of posterity and to give their children a deep sense of identity and high level of self esteem.

Obvious in all these efforts is that Yoruba people are striving to provide their younger generation with cultural roots that will hold them firmly, help them grow, and give them a sense of identity, which many believe has helped them cope with the difficult transition to life in America and other parts of the world.

Yoruba people believe in strong family and cultural ties. They belief that one day they will return home. Yoruba people want their children or foreign spouse to be able to fit into their Yoruba community when they return home. Hence, they have the desire to teach them about their culture, especially those aspects that have to do with the etiquette of respect for elders, eating in public, greetings, mannerism and dress code.

A person's language constitute a big part of their identity.

Language is a tool of communication, and not segmentation

We as Yoruba people believe that by teaching our children our culture we will one day go back to our fatherland triumphantly. Yoruba parents abroad are very busy and industrious people. They continually faces the challenges of creating the time and knowing the technique to help teach their kids to understand, speak, read and appreciate Yoruba language and culture.

Yoruba parents abroad urgently need to "rescue" their next generation from being lost due to lack of language and cultural transfer. They need external help to achieve this lofty goal. They need to have an interactive and entertaining educational multimedia that will teach their Kids Yoruba language and culture in the "context" of what their kids are used to in this western world.
