U.S. Reclassifies Brittany Griner as "Wrongfully Detained" in Russia

According to ESPN, WNBA star Brittany Griner was reclassified by the U.S. as "wrongfully detained" by the Russian government, which could mean a big shift in her case and getting her back home. Griner, who plays for a Russian team during the WNBA offseason, was arrested in February at a Moscow-area airport and accused of bringing vape cartridges containing hashish oil into the country.

Griner's agent, Lindsay Kagawa Colas spoke about the reclassification, stating, "Brittney has been detained for 75 days and our expectation is that the White House do whatever is necessary to bring her home."

A State Department official also released a statement to ESPN, which reads, "The Department of State has determined that the Russian Federation has wrongfully detained U.S. citizen Brittney Griner. With this determination, the Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs Roger Carstens will lead the interagency team for securing Brittney Griner's release."

The new change doesn't mean Russia will change its official stance on her detainment, but the U.S. now considers legal proceedings to be irrelevant to her case, and they will seek to negotiate her return. It was also revealed that Griner will be getting assistance from Bill Richardson, former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, who also worked privately for years as an international hostage negotiator.

Richardson was active in recently securing the release of former U.S. Marine Trevor Reed, who had been held in Russia since 2019. An agreement was made where Reed was sent back to the U.S., while a Russian citizen who had been convicted of drug smuggling was extradited back to his home country.

In what a local official has deemed "one of the worst cases of neglect in recent memory," the dead body of a 36-year-old woman was found melted into a coach at her parents' house. According to records, the late Lacey Ellen Fletcher was supposed to have been under the care of her parents, Sheila and Clay Fletcher, largely because she suffered from a condition that impaired her ability to communicate or move called locked-in syndrome. Instead, the couple allegedly allowed their daughter to waste away on their coach until she stopped breathing on January 3rd.

The tragic incident is said to have happened sometime within 48 hours of an emergency phone call that the victim's parent's made to 911. When the coroner and police officers arrived on the scene in East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana, they were gravely taken aback by what they saw and the stench that flooded their nostrils.

“When I first walked in the house, it smelled of feces, fecal material, however, you want to put that politely, it stunk," said the assigned coroner Dr. Ewell Bickham. "And when I got to the body, the individual was basically sitting in a hole, filled with liquid stool and urine."

According to Dr. Bickham, the victim weighed just 96 lbs as she had been medically neglected by both of her parents for at least a decade prior to the shocking discovery at the Fletcher residence.

Following an extensive autopsy, the Jefferson Parish Forensic Center ruled Lacey's death a homicide. Her parents have not been arrested or charged with any crimes as of yet, but District Attorney Sam D' Aquilla is calling for the grand jury to strongly consider a second-degree murder charge regarding the treatment of their daughter. Therefore, a grand jury is expected to make a decision sometime today on whether or not Lacey's parents will be charged with manslaughter, cruelty to the infirmed, second-degree murder, homicide, or none of the above.

6ix9ine Gets Punched In The Club

Somone recently took a swing at 6ix9ine in a Miami club, and it was caught on camera.

Last night (April 27), 6ix9ine showed up at Pilos Tacos Tequilla Garden in Miami. As he was leaving around 2 a.m., someone hit the Brooklyn rapper-federal informant with a sucker punch. In video of the incident obtained by TMZ, Tekashi and his security detail are seen filing out of the club. As the rapper passes one intrepid clubgoer, the guy takes a swing at 6ix9ine. The punch appears to connect with the back of 6ix9ine's head before Tekashi's security guard can react. After the punch is thrown, the scene becomes chaotic.

6ix9ine was at the club for a performance, which featured him reportedly performing one song from behind the DJ booth. After the punch, Tekashi tried to save face by signing autographs outside.

6ix9ine has been active, recently. Besides calling out Fivio Foreign, the "Gine" rhymer has set his sights on Lil Durk, with Tekashi's most recent antic being meeting up with Lil Durk look-alike Perkio and giving him a King Von jacket on camera. This led to a bunch of drama and back-and-forth as to whether or not Perkio was complicit in the stunt.

After 42 Dugg called out 6ix9ine for reportedly ambushing the replica Lil Durk, Tekashi fired back saying he wanted to fight Dugg in Miami and promised to "slap the shit outta" the CMG rapper. After trading some shots, Dugg backed down, citing 6ix9ine's past as a federal informant.

"Let me stop I’m tampering with Ah witness lol," Dugg captioned a series of photos of himself on Instagram.

21-year-old Victorville Rapper arrested after a pursuit in Apple Valley

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 21-year-old Victorville man was arrested after a vehicle pursuit in Apple Valley, officials said.

On Saturday, April 23, 2022, at approximately 4:50 am, deputies from the Apple Valley Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a black Land Rover for failing to stop at a posted stop sign at the intersection of Quinnault Road and Powhattan Road, officials said.

The driver, later identified as Bradley Luckey, aka No Luck failed to yield, and a pursuit ensued.

According to a news release, Luckey showed wanton disregard for public safety when he reached speeds of 70 MPH, drove into opposing lanes, and failed to stop at a red light.

So, as the bombshells continue to be thrown in Benzino's direction, an alleged phone call between Benzino and transgender actress Shauna Brooks recently caused a social media feud between the rapper and 50 Cent. In a tell-all interview with Jazzy McBee on Streetz 94.5 Atlanta, Brooks clarified her dealings with Benzino while claiming he made sexual advances toward her.

When asked if her working relationship with Benzino ever became sexual, the 32-year-old offered up a very candid response.

"[Benzino's advances] didn't progress on my terms...I denied the advances," Brooks said after pausing for a brief moment, before proceeding with caution.

The rainbow-haired rapper -- who just targeted the late King Von in his latest music video 'GINÉ ' -- decided to up the ante on Tuesday when he found his way in the vicinity of Lil Durk's doppelgänger "Perkio."

The footage for the encounter is pretty wild as 6ix9ine and his crew surround the TikTok star ... only to bless him with a jacket embroidered with a photo of King Von, who was shot and killed in October 2020.

The IG caption reiterates 6ix9ine's overall beef mission statement: Lil Durk and OTF haven't avenged Von's death and it contradicts their lyrics.

What's also wild is Perkio's face when the jacket is placed on his shoulders. He looks extremely uncomfortable and even appears to remove it as Tekashi barks into the camera.

Perkio and the "Fake Drake" have been getting chummy these last few days, making TikTok videos and even hitting the club together. Even better, they have the blessings of the real artists they're emulating.

Bruce Willis is stepping away from acting after a diagnosis of aphasia, a condition that causes loss of the ability to understand or express speech, his family said Wednesday.

In a statement posted on Willis’ Instagram page, the 67-year-old actor’s family announced that Willis was recently diagnosed with aphasia and that it is impacting his cognitive abilities.

There are many potential causes of aphasia. It often occurs after a stroke or head injury, but can also develop gradually due to a slow-growing brain tumor or a disease that causes degenerative damage, like Alzheimer’s disease. It’s treated primarily with speech therapy and learning non-verbal means of communication.
