NiMH cellular phone batteries are also ideal for motorists as it can be recharged 60% in 15 minutes by car chargers. Although slightly higher priced, the NiMH lasts twice longer than the life span other cellular phone batteries.
The Lithium Polymer and the Lithium-ion. If NiCD was used widely in older phone models, these cellular phone batteries are making its way in many new phones. Built on latest and most advanced technology, these batteries are the most compact, the slimmest and the lightest. The Lithium-ion offers up to 250 hours of standby time and 5 hours of talk time the lithium polymer cellular phone battery will last twice that long.
The NiCD: Nickel Cadmium cellular phone batteries are the most widely used in cell phones that operate in the range of 500 to 650 milli Amp Hours. Nickel Cadmium cellular phone batteries however are manufactured using older processes and is on its way out being replaced by better performing batteries.
NiCD’s also develops a memory effect giving the battery a shorter life between charges. If the battery is for example recharged after it has not yet fully discharged off its energy, the level from which you charge it will become its reference point the next time charging is done, which means that the full potential capacity of the battery can not anymore be used. It also tends to lose its charge every day (about 1%) even when not being used.
Lithium Polymer Battery (Li-Poly) is the newest and most advanced technology for cellular phone batteries. This brand new chemistry of battery allows for the most compact cells available. Li-Poly batteries are extremely light and thin and allow the most battery life for the size. Lithium Polymer cellular batteries share all of the benefits of Li-ION batteries but will last over twice as long.

Sony Ericsson's newest imaging phone has now been picked up by the T-Mobile network, following launches on both Vodafone and Orange the new Black Sony Ericsson Vivaz mobile phone can now be connected to a range of third party T-Mobile contract tariffs.
This Sony Ericsson Vivaz Black edition joins the recently released Red Vivaz as well as the original Silver colour variant in the range leaving just one more colour scheme to make it to market - the Sony Ericsson Vivaz Blue model.

The original version of the Nokia X6 with the larger memory of 32GB as opposed to the newer 'litw' edition Nokia X6 16GB has now been released on Orange pay monthly deals.This brand new touch screen music phone was initially launched as a SIM free handset back in early February followed quickly by a release on the O2 network, this now means that there are double the number of tariffs available for the Nokia X6 and with its network subsidy this new Nokia phone is already available from free.

This 32GB red and black edition is not to be confused with the new Nokia X6 16GB which strips back the memory capacity by half to keep costs down, the different models are pretty easy to tell apart as both ranges come in different colour schemes.

The Nokia X6 is firmly focused on music and entertainment, the advanced music player can be listened to via standard headphones rather than those in the packaging thanks to a 3.5mm audio jack, the large screen is also ideal for viewing music videos which can be downloaded fast thanks to HSDPA support.

The music phone sector is a pretty specialised arena and competition from other manufacturers is sparse, there is the Sony Ericsson Aino and W995 models which both offer a slightly more advanced camera to the Nokia X6's 5.0 mega pixel lens but both of these models rely on slide out keypads rather than the impressive touch screen of the Nokia phone.

LG have also launched a dedicated music phone but the LG GM205 is very much a bidget edition and cannot directly compete with the X6, Samsung also have the Samsung Beat DJ which is great for budding DJs as they can actually interact with their music using scratch pads but this still falls short on specifications when compared to the might of the X6.
