President Obama announced awhile ago that Osama was killed via a Special Forces team. The key thing to remember is that the army did the real work while our President basically gave them the ok to do it.

At the end of the day I still will put our men and women in uniform with the higher end of the awesome job stick for this one.

There are many who aren't too thrilled about him doing it yet, it is a staple/something he has done every year so this thing isn't new.

I don't know about you yet, I'm not too fond of celebrities in positions of power. Granted, there are some who turn out well/help the situation yet, in general not so much.

I'm somewhat surprised at the comments of Donald Trump and his insight. He (from a business perspective) can see how the current situation is crappy. Read his quotes in the article if ya don't believe me.

I think he would bring a good understanding of a business perspective to the presidency. I don't know his current set on the key issues, yet hopefully we will find out down the road.

I'm sure you're thinking: "JB, will ya endorse or even vote for him?"

Answer: maybe and depending on where he falls plus actually follows the Republican line of thinking and whatnot.

It seems that the Obama administration is at it again, though this time it will hurt us down the road. (Not like we are already hurting; don't think we are? Look again at closed down stores in Jackson Crossing or Westwood Mall or even companies in town)

As usual our "wonderful" (I use that term very lightly) decided after the big BP spill to put more restrictions on oil wells and whatnot. Not entirely surprised and somewhat an expected move.

Here's the kicker: due to the new restrictions (and more to come!) oil wells might take even longer to kick back into production mode.

Anyone with any sense of economics and basic supply and demand knows that this scenario is going to cause major trouble.

Here's my solution President Obama and those in Washington, D.C.

Let the wells get moving and pumping oil.

After the wells have been going for 1 month, then start working on safety issues if necessary.

That would allow the wells to kick out more supply, meets with the high demand considering winter is coming, and our gas prices go down slightly.

Anybody have any issue with this idea?

Heyas all,

As many of you are aware there is a big oil spill which is still ongoing. The reason I bring this issue up is due to its backfire on our current economy and the overall governmental picture.

Answer: this could not have come at a worse time

We already have our government regulating our health care system plus other areas and now they are getting into the oil industry.

What's my one liner take on this oil fiasco?

Shut the heck up President Obama, let BP work on fixing this issue, and let's keep moving forward.

The oil companies don't want more rules and regulations to follow. It'll just make it harder and harder for them to drill offshore. Then we'll have China or Russia drilling on a rig and in a few years they'll fire some rockets off the rigs and hit Florida or Texas or some other nearby state. Then what? Shesh...

Granted BP apparently did not have the situation under control, it does NOT mean the government needs to inject more rules and regulations into the oil industry. What higher has prices? Let them make more rules and regs and watch the gas price at the pump go up and up. Who would you then get to blame? Your wonderful (with a bunch of sarcasm there) government folks.

So, the average American isn't satisfied with how things are going. Is that really a new insight? In general I would say that people on both sides of the aisle. The Republicans (in general) are not happy with the way the government is expanding and putting its hands into more aspects of every day lives. The Democrats (in general) are not happy that those in DC aren't moving forward fast enough or are not focusing on the key issues as many stated back during the campaign trail.

According to the Gallup poll, the overall numbers are low across the board meaning a huge swing is going to happen in November. I would say that there is an undercurrent slowly but surely building. Will it explode in November? Somewhat. There will be a shakeup for those who hold officers throughout the country. Will it be as huge as some thing? I'm not sure. Some are content with the current status quo yet, those individuals will wake up sooner or later. Once things are getting bad regarding the health situation or people have to wait in line for 5+ hours in order to see a doctor, everyone on both sides will get pissed off and want things to change. I know I sure would in that situation.

November will be a key in many aspects. One main point to keep in mind is that it will set the tone for the 2012. Will the flow continue from November through 2012? I anticipate it will.

Still don't believe me when people aren't happy with the way things are going? Look here (the chart is at the bottom of the page after the data) at Zogby.

If you can't tell via the polls, talk with the locals, see the irate posts on Facebook or other sites. People are not happy.

My predictions for November:

Republicans will take back the seats they lost in 2008.

My prediction for 2012:

As long as the November momentum continues, the Republicans will take over all branches and regain control. The only major factor is if the Democrats continue their campaign and win back the hearts and minds of their constituents.

Well, I watched the SOTU last night and it was pretty typical as SOTUs go.... I wasn't too inspired nor thrilled by the speech. I would have to agree with the analysis that the President delivered it more flat/tone deaf then usual. Plus even I was somewhat confused during parts of it as to where he was going.

I could analyze it line by line yet, I'm just gonna pick out one point of it here in this post. The President stated that "So tonight, I'm proposing that we take $30 billion of the money Wall Street banks have repaid and use it to help community banks...."

If you didn't catch it, he basically stated that we are now going to bail out the little community banks. We just bailed out the big ones and now we are going to bail out the little guys. What's that mean to you and me? Our tax dollars at work saving the little bank down the street in your hometown. Though isn't it surprising we are going to throw $30 billion in dollars at the banks again? Will that really solve our problems? You tell me.

How would you like it if say Phil or Katie took your $60 dollars in order to help pay for their food and part of their hotel bill while staying at your town? Then after they paid you back the $60 dollars they needed another $30 dollars in order to buy a little toy at the gift shop before he or she left? That's $90 bucks right there you just handed over to them without able to say no due to they stole it outta your wallet or purse.

Granted my example is rather odd/extreme yet, it is the same thing that the government now wants to do with our hard earned money. We can't do much more considering some of us are already stretched to our limits plus a decent chunk of us are still unemployed.

I personally found the SOTU rather lame and a bunch of talk. Why? It all sounded good yet, at the end of the day I don't expect any real change or progress to happen.

Here's just an excerpt:

"Instead of focusing on solutions to help America's families wade through the wreckage of the worst economic crisis since the 1930s, Washington has wasted valuable time wrestling with partisan politics in an effort to rush through drastic reforms that do not directly address our most immediate needs."

Are you getting the picture? Notice I've used various sources here and one cannot bash me for only using only one source. I've used Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC. The reactions are the same coming from every angle, not just one particular poll or network.

Another thing that is scary is the that President stated he would overrule the Senate via executive order to get something passed. This issue is scary in that it is basically undoing the various checks and balances of the branches of the government. Another example of the President ramming things through/down our throats.

Here's what he said:

Now, even after paying for what we spent on my watch, we'll still face the massive deficit we had when I took office. More importantly, the cost of Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security will continue to skyrocket. That's why I've called for a bipartisan fiscal commission, modeled on a proposal by Republican Judd Gregg and Democrat Kent Conrad. (Applause.) This can't be one of those Washington gimmicks that lets us pretend we solved a problem. The commission will have to provide a specific set of solutions by a certain deadline.

Now, yesterday, the Senate blocked a bill that would have created this commission. So I'll issue an executive order that will allow us to go forward...

Don't you feel scary about that? The checks and balances are there to make sure people stay within the lines and don't bypass other branches. The executive order will basically do that leaving those in the House of Representatives and Senate left to dry i.e. you and I have no voice in the matter whatsoever.

So, if you think we are going well consider yourself one of the few in American who do. Why? The focus groups, polls, and other data say we aren't.

Which begs a question: is the President really connected with what is going on? Some might say he is though he is going to continue to push through this health care thing, supposedly focused on jobs (remember we according to him have lost 7 million), and whatever else we plan to do.

Mr Brown Goes to Washington

Brown is now in Washington, DC and will be there awhile. It is shaking up the usual business as usual for the Democrats. How will it play out? Only time will tell if the Republicans will now have the guts and backbone to block the Democrats to save those of us out here more money and not down us in piles of more and more taxes. We do have to pay for all of these plans somehow and it is not like Congress has a money printing machine that prints out free bills no, it is our taxes and our money that the guys and gals in Washington are spending.

I predict that the Dems will now slightly slow down on their advancement of their plans, programs, and agenda. Will Brown ultimately stop them? No, the Dems will keep doing their thing no matter what until they do hit the proverbial wall and go gee we do need to stop running forward. Only then will they change their tune and adjust to the situation.

It will be interesting to see if the Republicans actually use their new advantage in the Senate vs just letting the Dems run the show. I don't care what side of the aisle you're on: we all love a good fight and now there is one on our hands in DC. Who will be the winner? We'll just have to sit, watch, and wait until the final bell is rung for the match in the ring.

Granted the NPR people are trying to "spin it" saying people are evenly split, people still aren't happy. I'm sure they had to down a huge glass of water before saying it too.

Here's a highlight

Greenberg and Bolger found that 38 percent considered the country to be going in the "right direction," while 54 percent saw it on the "wrong track." But that 15-point negative reading was the least negative of any NPR poll in more than year. The portion saying "wrong track" had been nearly 90 percent in the NPR poll done in the fall of 2008.

People aren't happy and I'm happy that people are getting pissed off. The more people get pissed off the faster we can shift our country back on the right track before 99 more generations get sucked into paying these insane government programs.

Shesh.

We should take the Diet Pepsi Max tagline and use it as our new Republican motto: "Wake up People!"

Grrr. I'm getting tired of seeing more and more money being spent. Government can't help turn us around by throwing more money into the fire. What we need is to give money to the companies working hard, not penalizing them, plus give some moolah to the average American Joe, which in plain English is called TAX CUTS!

Are We Safe?

The answer is always no. Ever since September 11, 2001 we have been on the attack/on the offense vs. just sitting back and letting stuff happen.

Unfortunately, it seems that is no longer the case. Is our President keeping us safe? No. Am I surprised by the report? Not really. It is sad/just a snapshot of our current situation. Nonetheless, read the stories and come up with your own conclusion.

Only time will tell when an actual attack will hit us on our own soil again. My guess after this article, it could happen sooner then any of us expect. :S :(

Heyas everyone,

Yes I know it has been awhile since my last post. Real life stuff has been going on so my apologies.

I'll be honest, I'm not enjoying where America is heading. We seem to keep heading towards the wall and eventually something will break and we will crash in one form or another. The economy is showing signs plus other sectors as well. I've just sorta been watching from the sidelines and catching bits of news here and there. Not much is now, something is bad or the Big Government is making more bills and cutting out the hard business workers down the street that is your and my neighbor.

So, what's next? Who knows. Here's what I do know: cut taxes, stop spending my money on bailing out companies that don't need it, and finally stop putting in new roadblocks for those who are trying to run a business or make a living.

How would you like it if your neighbor kept making laws saying you could do this or that on your property and you didn't really have a say? Or your neighbor got a hold of your checking account and kept spending your money on lottery tickets vs. paying your bills? See where I'm going with this friends?

Ugh. I just hope people start waking up and say enough is enough!

Well today was the big day for Obama who is now our new President. I watched the Inaugural address and found it has its good points. Though in general, if you were paying attention, it is the same stuff he said while on the campaign trail. We'll just see how soon he abandons the campaign promises, pulls our troops out of Iraq, and shuts down Guantanamo Bay. Only time well tell friends.

Greetings friends,

I just ran across a blog post where Gary Graham ( Article Link: Click Here) just let rip about how he really felt. Now, I knew this guy was an actor yet, I sure didn't know he was a Republican. If I had one word to say after reading his post it would be: ditto. I too am sick and tired of left crap and let's be tolerant. If you don't like it, you can either adapt like the Borg do in Star Trek or beam off the planet. Seriously, I even while pinging my friends in a game called Guild Wars got back some Happy Holidays. Shesh. What did I say? Merry Christmas all the way baby. I mean really, I'm only 24 (at the time of writing this post) and even I know who's in the Supreme Court, who's the President, Vice President, and who is in control of the House and the Senate. Granted I'm more political then others yet he is what sickens me friends. I watch TV and they go out to regular American citizens, and they have no fucking clue who the President is or the Vice President. I mean the VP, maybe yeah sure but the President of the USA??!!! Come on people! Though hey remember, these are the kids who have to be taught the freaking M.E.A.P. test or passed through the grades even when he or she can't READ AT A 7TH GRADE LEVEL rather they read at a 3rd grade level. Or can't even do simple math of 2 + 2 = 4 NOT 5 you idiots!

There's my rant friends, and let me just say I hope you have an awesome New Year and fight for the U.S.A. dang it! If we don't and our good men and women in the armed forces don't....who will?

Yes I know that is a new year. If you missed that memo, I'm at a loss as to what to say.....Maybe look at a calendar for a start...... LOL

Inauguration is coming up here in a few days for President-elect Obama. After that occurs many are saying we as a nation are doomed. Are we? only time will tell to see if Obama keeps his election promises or sends our nation down even farther then we could ever dream.

I will say this regarding the man, I will respect the office which I'm cool and fine with. Though I will NOT respect Obama no matter what anybody says. I don't care if you hate my guts, I just won't.

I can only hope that we as Republicans can fight and stand strong during this time. For if we fail and collapse, the U.S.A. is closer to collapse then we could ever imagine.

Everybody of course is trying to figure out who is going to win the next primary and who will be the Democratic nominee. My guess: I figure it will be Senator Obama. Why? He is kicking out the plain old stuff that the dems have been from way way back when. The problem? Most of the people today don't recognize it. That's my take on it with some info from Rush Limbaugh.

I'll tell ya one thing, I'm pleased with our side's nominee of Senator McCain. Though it will be neat to see once the dems (if ever) get their act together who they pack for their candidate. If it is Senator Clinton, we are in for a bigger battle than many of us know or think.

It appears that Sen McCain is winning the primaries and Sen Obama too.

I personally am happy that Sen Obama is winning on the Democratic side; it's a nice thing to see Sen Clinton taking a hit for once and losing. Heaven forbid.

Sen McCain is winning on the Republican side; that I am not real pleased about. I do respect the man for his service to our country. I do NOT like the idea of having a 70something year old man as the President of the United States. Plus, he has not followed along more with some of Republicans instead sounding like a Democrat. I just don't entirely trust him; I'd rather have Romney or Huckabee in his place.

State of the Union Address 2008: Democrat's Response

One word does stand out while watching the response: boring and not very inspiring. President Bush did better, in my opinion.

She took shots at Iraq, the economy, and everything else.

Her main thing: President Bush, join us i.e. the Democrats and let's get to work.

He already laid out things and how to plan things tonight. The problem is not him rather THEM. They are the ones who are putting things into stalls or tailspins.

The key thing to watch is to see if the Republicans will help get some Democrats to support and get the bill going to extend our abilities to listen to the terrorists and whatnot occurring. If that does not occur, we are screwed now and for a long time.

State of the Union Address 2008

State of the Union Analysis while watching

Quick fact: applause count (I am off by a few I'm sure) 67.

He stated that there was debate back and forth between both sides.

He touched on the economy i.e. it wasn't doing well therefore then put together the stimulus package.

President Bush stated that the legislators should not add to it plus pass it ASAP.

Stated we should make the tax relief permanent. Doesn't that sound like the Republican candidates?

If any bill that raises taxes hits his desk=veto it.

Sending budget to Congress that will cut a lot of unneeded programs.

Will send back appropriations bill if it doesn't cut the earmarks in half.

Executive order to ignore earmarks if not voted on by Congress; the various government agencies.

President Bush basically stated to let the people make the best decisions rather than the government get involved.

How? "Expand consumer choice, not government control."

Touched on education, health care, and the housing market.

President Bush stated that the No Child Left Behind Act is a bipartisan achievement; he listed various facts ranging from that scores were higher or getting there.

Brought up the new plan/idea of Pell Grants for Kids; that is interesting I must admit.

Work on focusing on those items made in the USA.

I'm seeing a theme of trusting in the people rather than the government getting in the way. A theme that makes sense.

Focus on coal power while capturing the bad emissions.

President Bush brought up an international agreement to reduce green house gasses.

He mentioned the stem cell issue specifically taking some from an adult and making it act like it was embryonic stem cells.

Treat life with dignity i.e. buy, sell, patent, or clone human life.

Pass the judicial nominees and stop holding them back from being appointed.

Asked Congress to permanently extend Charitable Choice.

Asked Congress to come up with bipartisan solutions to fix Social Security, Medicare etc.

Immigration

Secure the borders; need to create a lawful way to have immigrants come and support our economy.

Illegal immigration must be fixed using "our laws and upholding our highest ideals."

Liberty will be opposed by terrorists and extremists; "...We will deliver justice to our enemies."

Freedom is being spread.

Focused on Iraq; President Bush thanked and stated "they have the gratitude of our whole nation." I wish this was true; some don't give them their gratitude i.e. the Democrats.

Stated the surges (both American and Iraqi) are working. I must admit, I still find it funny the people don't think they are/deny it. Just because you can't see it in the numbers go down, does NOT mean they are not working. Not everything is immediate people....Shesh...

President Bush stated that from the terrorists point of view, the surge is working.

Holy Crap! He just made a pledge that those serving will have "all that you need" to fight the war on terrorism.

Laid out the challenge to Congress "Fully fund our troops."

"Reconciliation is taking place, and the Iraqi people are taking control of their future."

"We will not rest until this enemy has been defeated."

President Bush mentioned that Israel and democratic Palestine live "side by side."

I must admit that is a very bold statement.

He also fired some shots at Iran. Go figure that they are trying to deny freedom and the movement of progress i.e. freedom. Duh!

Nice that he mentioned those keeping us safe and that we owe them our thanks.

President Bush "the time to act is now!" He stated this regarding the bill which allows us to monitor communications of terrorists and whatnot. That expires on February 1.

"America opposes genocide in Sudan."

Asked Congress to approve an additional 30 billion dollars to help fight the aids epidemic over in Africa.

Strength of our nation lies in our people, not in the government. Major ditto! :)

Florida Primary Predictions

Here's my predictions for Florida and who will win:

Democrats: Sen Clinton, Sen Obama, Sen Edwards

I'm basing that on the Real Clear Politics Poll information, though I could be wrong and an upset may occur.

Republicans: The state is made up of various older people including military and retirees. That will play a factor in this particular race. I think that Sen McCain may get the support of those in the military yet, the rest of them will swing over to Governor Romney since they want a better economy and that Social Security will be covered which he does address (better in my opinion) more so than Sen McCain.

Gov Romney in 1st place, and Sen McCain in 2nd place respectively

As you're aware of (at least I hope) the State of the Union Address is tonight at 8:55 PM EDT tonight. Here's some brief thoughts before it occurs:

Fox News Channel on the Fox Report (Carl Cameron and Major Garret) stated that we'll see if the Democrats huddle around Sen Obama or Sen Clinton.

Another thing to keep in mind is that both the Senate and the House are a majority of Democrats. So, how does that apply to tonight? Don't expect too many applauses tonight expect a few if they have to i.e. show support and fake it etc.

One last thing is: the media will (and has been today; Countdown on MSNBC showed all these things up with the word up in red letters: global terrorism. national deficit etc) downplay the economy before and afterward as much as possible.

Mike H is stating that our infrastructure is falling apart. He just made a statement that sounded like FDR and the new deal.Part of which made the Tennessee Dam
Ron Paul just went on his crazy rant again.

Tim Russert asked a great question with all the numbers going down i.e. deficit, gas going up etc why should the people want another Republican in the White House?
Sen McCain answered great: he stated that the dems will do (what we all should know and expect) raise taxes and increase spending
Mike H just stated something interesting, a trickle up effect. Basically keeping an eye on what people are doing at the bottom
"When Republicans act like Democrats, people loose." Gov Romney
Ron Paul stated the war was not worth it; the mothers and family members of the troops are not going to be for him at all.

Gov Giuliani just struck out at President Clinton regarding the military being cut down. Keep an eye on the polls and how the Clintons react. Hey may pay dearly for lashing out at President Clinton yet, the big question is: how will they spin it?
Another question: who is really running? President Clinton or Senator Clinton?

Gov Romney says he supports the 2nd Amendment; will the NRA back him?
Gov Giuliani stated to let the technology solve the Global Warming issue instead of putting caps on things.

So far I think this has been a good debate. The thing to remember is: will these candidates keep their promises when they hit the White House, whoever that ends up being. I still personally think that the Republicans will do a better job regarding the economy and military issue.

Gov Romney thinks that people will not choose a candidate based on their stances not their religious background.
Mike H's attitude is let's work on what we can do instead of can't. I like that sort of attitude and that's the true American Spirit there.

Sen McCain just gave praise to Gov Giuliani; that was a nice touch yet, his last statement made me wonder if he'll put out soon. I doubt that at the present.

Latest Rant on the Political Race and Landscape

Hello everyone,

It has been awhile so figured I'd post my latest thoughts on the current race and whatnot. Here's what I'll cover in today's post:

1. South Carolina

2. Florida

3. Gravel

1. Sen Obama will take the state followed by Sen Clinton and former Sen Edwards. That's my prediction unless something drastic happens. That also goes along with the data from Real Clear Politics. It appears the race will be between Sen Obama and Clinton once again with Sen Edwards trailing behind. My prediction? I expect him to pull out here after South Carolina or Florida. I might be dead wrong and he may stay throughout the campaign yet, one has to ask "What else would he do?" He's no longer a Senator; he'd probably just go back to being a lawyer yet, this campaign is more fun that than sure. I expect him if he does pull out not to endorse anybody unless the Clintons get their fingers in and make him back Sen Clinton. We'll just have to watch and see what happens folks.

2. Florida is the next big race on the country-wide ballot and Giuliani is in the headlines as slipping poll wise. I watched a clip where he talked about the current situation. It struck me that he was almost trying to convince himself that things would turn around. Only time will tell with that campaign and we'll see how the voters react.

3. Sen Gravel is the nutcase from Alaska. One wonders where or what he has been up to all this time. I expect him to back out due to financial problems and so will Rep Kucinich though I doubt either of that will make the airwaves except for a small blurb. I doubt that either will throw their support behind anyone though Kucinich might back Sen Edwards or someone just to throw Sen Clinton off. He seems somewhat like the kinda of guy who would do such a thing. I could be wrong who knows.
