SPR's: Facebook CEO and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg has topped the list of world’s richest individuals under 35, according to a Wealth-X report. His estimated worth is about $41.9 billion, while Facebook’s other co-founder Dustin Moskovitz holds the second position in the list with net worth of $9.3 billion.

There are a few things that social media giant such as Facebook can’t do. The global online platform can create social awareness, support the start-ups, and one thing for sure is it can make its CEO the world’s richest person in the world under 35.

Even though Facebook CEO and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg works for a salary of $1, his personal fortune is nothing less than astounding $41.6 billion, says a Wealth-X report. Facebook owes its success to more than a billion monthly users and not so appreciated yet brilliant business strategies. No doubt that once a startup, Facebook is now the biggest brand on the globe.

With its schemes to replace YouTube as the biggest video platform and the ambitious Internet.Org as the Internet For All, Mark Zuckerberg along with his other co-founders Dustin Moskovitz (worth $9.3 billion) and Eduardo Saverin (worth $5.3 billion) held 1st, 2nd and 4th spot on the list of the world’s richest people in the world under 35.

It’s not just Facebook, who is giving profitable returns to its makers- Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel at the age of 25 is the youngest billionaire on the world’s richest individuals list with a fortune of $1.9 billion.

Out of 20 world’s richest individuals under 35 in the Wealth-X list, 11 are from the US, while three each are from China and Switzerland.

Surprise: 92 Percent of Users Love Windows 10

SPR's: According to a latest study, Windows 10 is getting ample amount of love from the users. About 92% of the people have shared positive comments on social media and other online platforms. Read more to know about the most loved and hated features of Widows 10.

Just more than three weeks after the launch of Windows 10, the OS has managed to capture a remarkable share in the PC market. With Windows 10, Microsoft has worked hard to polish its previous mistake which is known as Windows 8. The OS is facing some backlashes on the security and privacy front, but this isn’t enough to tone down people’s love for Windows 10.

According to a analysis done by BrandWatch, the people who are in love with Windows 10 are far more than those who hate the final itertion of Windows. The survey suggests that about 92% people loved the OS. This news has the potential to surprise many people, given the fact that Russians are even demanding for Windows 10 ban as the OS “spies on its users.”

Brandwatch analysed about 7,000 online authors and social media trends and created this pool of data. Out of the total 1.2 mentions of Windows 10, shortly after launch, 92% expressed positive reactions and 8% showed negative emotions.

Added to this love, Brandwatch also notes a growing hostility towards the OS. The negative trends are rising and right now it is as much as 20%. Still, 20% people liking the OS is pretty great.

Talking about the most liked features, Cortana tops the list- followed by Edge browser, Xbox integration. On the other hand, Start Menu tops the list of most hated features of Windows 10.

Well, this isn’t a scientific analyis by any means as it only talks about 7,000 online and social media mentions. Still, the overall feeling resonates with the positive response of the masses.

How HAMR Will Save HDDs? When is the First HAMR HDD Coming?

SPR's: Seagate is busy making the HAMR-based HDDs that use heat-assisted magnetic recording (HAMR) technology to challenge the SSD revolution. These disks store about 3-4 times more data as compared to current HDDs.
At present, it clearly seems that HDDs are losing the mighty storage battle with the SSDs. However, a relatively newer technology could impregnate the present day HDDs with new life. Recently, Seagate Technology demonstrated the new HAMR-based HDDs that use heat-assisted magnetic recording (HAMR) technology. This technological breakthrough in the storage technology will enable the future HDDs to store about three to four times more data as compared to the present day HDDs.
As the named suggests, HAMR or Heat-Assisted Magnetic Recording technique in these disks is a new process to write data on the magnetic media of the regular HD platters. HAMR based drives could store as much as 50 terabit per square inch, whereas the usual HDDs store just 1 terabit per square inch. Seagate says that it is working hard to bring the HAMR based drives as soon as possible.
The heat-assisted magnetic recording technology will not only increase the store the storage capacity, but it will also reduce its coercivity for a small amount of time needed to write one bit on the disk. This HAMR technology magnetically records data on high-stability media like iron platinum alloy, using laser thermal assistance to heat the material (and reduce the coercivity).
When is the First HAMR HDD Coming?

Jan-Ulrich Thiele, the head of HAMR development at Seagate says that HDDs with HAMR technology are not being made to break the storage records, instead they are being produced to evaluate the technology’s applicability in mass production scheme.
These HAMR-based HDDs are being planned to be introduced in late 2016 and the first prototype HAMR HDDs will come in limited 4TB storage sizes. The writing head of the HAMR HDDs will be slightly thicker than the traditional heads, causing their form factor to get larger.
As mentioned above, the introduction of HAMR HDDs will be in late 2016, but the disks are expected to ship in 2018.
It is clear that HDDs aren’t going to disappear anytime soon and the ASTC (Advanced Storage Technology Consortium) plans to develop the HDDs to make 100TB storage disks in a decade from now.

Russians Demand Windows 10 Ban Because it “Spies on Users”

SPR's: Russian lawyers, lawmakers and state agencies have filed complaints seeking Windows 10 ban. They have claimed that Windows 10 OS infringes the Russian laws and spies on its users.

Windows 10 has been released worldwide and people are using the operating system in large numbers. However, Windows 10 is facing some trouble on privacy settings grounds. Few days ago, it was revealed that Windows 10 continues to talk to Microsoft’s servers even when told not to.

In another development, Russian lawyers have filed a complaint with the Prosecutor General’s Office, demanding strict actions against the OS and consider the option of Windows 10 ban in Russia. They have claimed that Windows 10 is being used to collect user information and it infringes the local Russian laws.

The lawyers with the Bubnov and Partners legal practice in Moscow claim that information like passwords, location, typed texts and browsing history is being stored by Windows 10- and thus it breaches Russia’s regulations. Also, the State Duma’s vice speaker has asked the Russian government to ban the Windows 10 OS.

According to The Moscow Times, last week State Duma Deputy Vadim Solovyov sent an official request to the Prosecutor General’s Office to review Microsoft’s OS. The deputy claimed that the OS is spying on its users.

However, an unidentified Microsoft spokesperson told The Moscow Times, denying the allegations: “The new operating system offers users the choice of how they want it to handle their data and users can change the settings at any point.”

Defending Windows 10, The Russian Association for Electronic Communications said that Windows 10 has flexible settings and therefore it doesn’t breach the Russian law.

In China, Women Are Being Hired to Motivate Computer Programmers

SPR's :Okay, read the headline once again. Yes, I typed correct enough. The Internet companies in China are hiring “programming cheerleaders” to motivate their programmers.

According to Tech in Asia: “Internet companies across China are embracing programming cheerleaders, pretty, talented girls that help create a fun work environment. Their job includes buying programmers’ breakfast, chit chatting and playing ping-pong with them.”

There isn’t an exact number provided by Trending in China, but you can see in the pictures how a company has hired women to “motivate” male programmers.

However, in the top-most picture, you can see that there’s a woman programmer too, but the company didn’t care to hire a male programming cheerleader.

Well, things like this promoting sexism and prejudices at workplace continue to appear regularly. If this wasn’t enough, read this excerpt from a blog writing the news with great interest and not mentioning the flagrant sexism and inequality in tech. A blog writes: “These pretty young things spend time in IT offices, and are tasked with keeping morale high and helping create a fun work environment.”

The HR manager of an internet startup in China said that they hired three cheerleaders because their programmers are mostly male and they are pretty bad at socializing.

Well, programmers are glad (I suppose) and productivity is on the rise. So, who are we to raise concerns. Umm…okay, wtf!

16-year-old Indian-Origin Kid Claims His Search Engine Is 47% More Accurate Than Google

SPR: A sixteen-year-old Canadian kid of Indian-origin, Anmol Tukrel, has developed a personalized search engine. He claims it to be 47% more accurate than Google search results, and 21% more accurate on an average.

Google is hands down the big daddy of search engines and twines in itself the definition of world wide web. Google has been challenged time and again in its search supremacy, most recently rumored by Apple Inc. Competition is always expected in the tech industry, but Google’s search algorithm getting challenged by a 16-year-old Indian origin kid is unprecedented.

Anmol Tukrel is like any other regular teenager who had just passed his tenth grade, except that he is now challenging Google’s authority. In a matter of few months and approximately 60 hours of coding, Anmol, who is an Indian origin Canadian citizen, has designed a personalized search engine claiming it to be 47% more accurate than the Google Search, and about 21% more accurate on an average.

While talking to The Times of India Anmol said:

I thought I would do something in the personalized search space. It was the most genius thing ever. But when I realized Google already does it, I tried taking it to the next level

Anmol started the project of personalized search engine as part of submission into Google Science Fair, a global online competition open to students age 13 to 18 years.

The accuracy of the search engine was tested to a limited search query of this year’s news articles from The New York Times. He compared the search results of his indigenous search engine with that of Google and the accuracy accordingly was well, above 47%. For all the skeptics, Anmol has put up a link to the test cases online for anyone to view.

The kid had a very basic developmental kit, a computer with at least 1 gigabyte of free storage space, a python-language development environment, a spreadsheet program and access to Google and New York Times.

Google has just announced Sundar Pichai, an Indian as its CEO, and now an Indian origin teen challenging the tech giant who had recently rebranded itself to Alphabet. Seems like the Silicon Valley has a mysterious affinity to the Indians.

Here you can change the page file memory’s file and maximum size- based upon the RAM on your PC.

Take a look at these simple steps to fix the slow performance issue in Windows 10:

1. Open Start Menu and find the Control Panel. Click on it.

2. Here in the Control Panel, go to the Search field at the top-right of the window and type Performance. Now hit Enter.

3. Now find Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows.

4. Go to the Advanced tab and click on Change in the Virtual Memory section.

5. Now untick the option “Automatically manage paging file size for all drives.”

6. Select the default C: drive where Windows 10 is installed and then chooseCustom Size. Then change Initial Size and Maximum Size to the recommended values by Windows (given below).

7. Now click Set and then hit OK to save the settings.

8. Reboot the computer for the changes to take effect and fix the slow performance issue in Windows 10.

How to Download and Install Android Marshmallow on Your Nexus Device

SPR: Google has released the final preview of Android Marshmallow 6.0 and you can download it right now and install it on your Nexus devices. Read more for step-by-step tutorial.

While the final release date of Android Marshmallow is away, Google has released the final preview of Android Marshmallow. If you own a Google Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 9 or Nexus Player, you can download the preview today and install the build on your device.

Note: This is a nearly complete build of Android Marshmallow and it’s bound to have some bugs that will be addressed by Google later in the release build. So fossBytes advises you to install the Android Marshmallow Final Preview on a device which isn’t of your daily use. Make sure to make a complete a backup of your devices.

How to download and install Android Marshmallow?

Download and install the latest Android Studio Preview on your Windows machine as it will install Fastboot and ADB tools. You can access them using the command terminal on your computer.
Now you need to add the SDK folder and specify its path using the steps below:
In your PC, right click on My Computer and go to Properties.
Go to Advanced System Settings followed by System Properties > Advanced > Environment Variables.
In the Environment Variables window, select Path and click on Edit. Type the name of directory path where the SDK is installed. Don’t forget to add semicolon separating the entries.
Now enable the USB debugging on your system. Go to Settings > About Phone > Software information. Enable it by tapping the Build Numberseven times.
Go to Settings > Developer options and select USB debugging.
Now download the Android Marshmallow factory images for your device from the links given below:

Android M for Nexus 5Android M for Nexus 6Android M for Nexus 9Android M for Nexus Player

Now it’s time to extract the downloaded Android Marshmallow archive.
Connect the device using the USB connection.
Start your device in fastboot mode. This could be done easily while pressing a key combination while the device powers up. Know about them here.

Another way to fastboot your device is to use ADB tool. With the device connected, execute this command using command terminal: adb reboot bootloader

If there are some issues with device’s bootloader, unlock it using this command in terminal: fastboot oem unlock

Now we’ll install the Android Marshmallow preview on Nexus:

Find the unzipped Android Marshmallow factory image by opening a command terminal.
Now execute flash-all.bat which could be found in the extracted image.
For security purposes, Google advises to lock the bootloader by this command: fastboot oem lock

Now, Android Marshmallow preview is installed on your Nexus device. Your device will regular over-the-air updates.

To uninstall Android Marshmallow preview and go back to the previous Android version, download the factory images from this page and repeat the above steps. Don’t forget to clear the files from Fastboot and ADB that were added earlier.

India Unveils World’s First Absolute Solar Powered Airport

SPR: The Cochin International Airport in the south Indian state of Kerala has now become world’s first absolute solar powered airport or “absolutely power neutral”. The solar power plant is set to cut the carbon emissions by 300,000 tons over the next 25 years.

With the recent hue and cry over the global climate, imprudent use of resources and a natural apathy towards the planet by the rich as well as the developing countries, India has made a striking effort to show its commitment for a greener Earth and sustainable development.

India has unveiled the world’s first absolute solar powered airport on Tuesday. The Cochin International Airport in the south Indian state of Kerala has now become “absolutely power neutral”. The airport is powered by 46,000 solar panels arrayed across 45 acres of land. It is a 12 MWp solar power plant generating 48,000 units per day and is anticipated to cut the carbon emissions by 300,000 tons over the next 25 years.

The notion of sustainable development is well understood by all. Elon Musk plans to utilize solar energy to power your entire home with Tesla Powerwall. Right now reducing any country’s carbon footprint is both a major economic and a technical challenge throughout the globe. India as an emerging superpower is therefore expected to brood innovative sustainable development.

India already has 4GWp of solar capacity, and is looking further for increasing the outputs from its renewable energy sources as well as nuclear power plants.

To get the gravity of this major achievement of building an absolute solar powered airport by India, the reduction in carbon footprint by the new solar power plant is equivalent of planting three million trees or not driving 750 million miles.

The Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL), airport’s parent company, also plans to sell the surplus energy to the Kerala State Electricity Board. Kerala is an Indian state with numerous water bodies and the CIAL plans to exploit the resource with dam based solar panels.

This is an amazing feat by India and the South Asian nation should plan to continue its research and fulfill its commitment to sustainable development.

SPR: It’s a known fact that Google has been working on some healthcare projects to fight diseases like cancer and diabetes. Now, after the advent of Alphabet, Google is gearing up to make things happen on a bigger level and planning to work on ways to stop aging.

Now, Alphabet will be the home to Google’s (or, yeah, Alphabet) moonshots like Glass and Loon. Another big part of Alphabet’s future is healthcare and sci-fi projects that aim to cure the most dangerous diseases and defy death.

We’ve already told you in the past about Google X’s cancer treating pills and smart lenses to monitor blood sugar levels. Chasing all these ambitious projects with Google as a parent didn’t make much sense- because, over the years Google has become synonymous with the word search.

Focusing on healthcare, two Alphabet companies will there looking for new ways to improve your life. The fist company, Calico, has previously announced that it’s partering with AbbVie to make new drugs targetting the diseases related to old age (Alzheimers and Parkinsons) and extending your age and life. The second life sciences company remains unnamed and deals with fighting diseases. According to various sources, even though things are just in the starting phase, but the company has been hunting top scientific talent for a long time.

This life science company is making Google’s cancer detecting pill that will inject nanoparticle in your bloodstream to detect the cancer-causing cells and it’ll send back the information using a smart wristband.

Google’s smart contact lens is another device that must be mentioned here. It will be using a smart wireless chip to measure the blood glucose levels and transmit the data regularly. If you are thinking that disease detection and fighting against it is Google’s limit in healthcare, you’re wrong. Google wants do more to prevent aging. According to Wired, company is working on its “Baseline Project” that will take genetic information from 10,000 anonymous people to create a ‘baseline’ that will show us a picture of a healthy human being on a molecular level.

NASA Invites You To Send Your Name To Mars On InSight

SPR: For its latest InSight Mars lander mission, NASA has asked people to sign up for the “boarding pass” and send their names on the Red planet. NASA wants everyone to be a part of an epic journey that aims to study the evolution of the rocky planets including Earth.

We have been checking out on our neighbour Mars for quite some time now. Space researchers and Mars enthusiasts get pepped up with each advancement and discovery comprehending with the Red Planet. Mars One had already revealed its plans to send 100 men and women to colonise Mars by 2024.

We still don’t know if it’s going to happen for real or if you can get a chance of a lifetime to set foot on Mars, but what we definitely know is, thanks to NASA, you can now send you name to Mars and let your presence be felt on our Red neighbor.

NASA has already begun testing of its Orion Space Capsule that will take humans to Mars by 2030 and to nearby asteroids in 2025, but for now you have to satisfy your space appetite by sending your name to Mars on a silicon microchip in NASA’s next Mars mission. The InSight Mars lander is set to be launched next year and you have an opportunity to send your name to Mars and be a part of the future space journey. NASA has also launched a web-based portal called Mars Trek that will give you a virtual tour of the Red planet.

Insight Mars lander, is meanwhile, the first ever dedicated mission to dig deep inside Martian crust and investigate the Red planet’s evolution. The Insight Mars lander will place a seismometer on the surface of Mars and study the planet’s seismic waves to know its interior. A self-hammering heat probe will also be deployed on the planet that will burrow deeper into the ground than any previous device.

The mission’s aim is to gather as much information as possible about Mars and other evolutionary hypothesis of rocky planets such as Earth.

Google’s Humanoid Robot ‘Atlas’ Stomps Through The Forests

Short Bytes: Google/Alphabet has cut loose its humanoid Atlas out in the open to get some sun. The Google humanoid sees the world with the same technology as the Google’s self-driving car.

Machines are rising and they are rising fast. The recent news of robot crushing a man to death in Germany, robots showing self-awareness, Hawking calling for a ban on AI warfare, and with many more of such sorts are already making people apprehensive of the advancing technology or to be more precise artificial intelligence.

Google/Alphabet, on the other hand, is big on investing in technology and creating autonomous machines such as self-driving cars. This time Alphabet’s subsidiary Boston Dynamics has let its six-foot humanoid robot Atlas cut loose in the woods.

The 300lb robot in the video can be seen stomping its way in the forest with a power cable tethered to its back. Atlas running in the woods reminisces of G I Joe’s exoskeletons. Engineers at Boston Dynamics are working to get a better power source for the Atlas with funding from DARPA.

The current drill is to make Google’s humanoid learn how to find its way out in the world. Atlas’s “eyes” is the laser radar system which is similar to Google’s self-driving car.

The society where robots are jogging out in the open seems to have finally arrived. But, it still looks as if it is 20 to 30 years more when will see robots or humanoids per say, hanging out amongst us.

MIT And Samsung Making Almost Perfect “Indefinite” Battery Lifetime

SPR: MIT and Samsung have discovered a way to increase the battery life “indefinitely”. Replacing the liquid electrolyte with the solid state electrolyte might do the trick of indefinite battery lifetime, and would mean a revolution in the battery industry.

As of today, we have got the best of the technology. The smartphones are getting smarter with each passing day, but the problem that still remains as petulant is the battery problem.

But, according to this new development, the days of frequent charging will soon be a thing of the past. MIT and Samsung have partnered in an effort to make batteries with “indefinite” lifetime. Research is going on to bring in innovative methods like WiFi charging for smartphones as well.

The battery has three basic components. One of those is the liquid electrolyte. The scientists have discovered a way to create an indefinite battery lifetime by replacing the liquid electrolyte with a solid-state electrolyte.

The findings are being termed by the MIT as a “game changer” for the battery industry. The solid state electrolyte will protect the battery from the degradation due to continuous charging and discharging cycles eventually making its lifespan much longer, “hundreds of thousands of cycles” to be exact. That would mean bye-bye inflated phone batteries as well.

Also, the problem with conventional batteries such as overheating and flammable potencies are not encountered in the solid electrolyte battery. The power capacity in the solid state electrolyte batteries is also 20 to 30 percent higher.

So, this achievement would mean you can afford to forget your charger from now on.

What’s New in First Post-launch Windows 10 Preview Build 10525 and How to Get it

SPR: Microsoft has released its first post-launch Windows 10 preview build (build 10525) to its Windows Insider community. This is a part of Microsoft’s promise to release builds and new features for the Insiders before everyone else.

Microsoft has previously said that its Insider Program for Windows 10 will continue after the official launch of Windows 10. Today, the software giant delivered the first installment of its promise with the first post-launch Windows 10 preview.

This Windows 10 preview is Build 10525 and is currently available for fast track Windows Insiders. According to the company, the Windows Insider Program will focus on delivering Windows OS as a service. Keeping the promise of regular post-launch Windows builds, the service model of Windows 10 makes sense now. Just like always, if you are a Windows insider, you’ll get these Windows 10 builds before everyone else.

These post-launch Windows 10 builds are released by improving the OS based on the feedback received. So, Microsoft’s Windows Insider program continues. This is being called the next phase of the Windows Insider program and OS maker expects the testers to test the build enthusiastically and give their feedback.

What are the changes in first post-launch Windows 10 preview Build 10525?

The Windows 10 insiders running the Fast Ring of the program have got the early access to build 10525. This new build brings some cool changes like new color options and users can now express their individuality with personalized colors. This is an addition to Windows 10 from the previous versions of the operating system.

Apart from the color, build 10525 has also brings certain improvement to the memory. The improved memory manager feature, also called a compression store, is an in-memory collection of the compressed pages that will allow the pages to be compressed instead of writing them to disk.

Intel Core i7 Skylake Processor Reaches Record-breaking 7GHz Clock Speeds

SPR: A professional overclocker from Hong Kong has managed o overclock the Intel Core i7-6700L Skylake microsprocessor to nearly 7GHz clock speeds. This overclocked speed is among the highest ever achievd by any product of Intel Core-i series.

If you are sceptical about the upcoming 6th generation Intel processors and upgrading to the same, here’s a news that will clear all your doubts. A professional from Honk Kong has over clocked the Intel Core i7-6700K chip and made a new record for the micorprocessor frequncy. This speed acheived by Intel Core i7 Skylake processors is among the highest ever acheived by any microprocessor of Intel Core i-series.

According to Kitguru, Kui Lam, a professional overclocker from HKEPC website from Hong Kong, has overclocked an engineering sample of Intel Core i7-6700K Skylake microprocessor to whopping 6998.88MHz. This clock speed is about 74.9.7 per cent more that its normal stock frequency.

To achieve this, Kui Lam had to disable three cores out if four and the Hyper-Threading technology, and the voltage of the processor was increased from 1.2V to 1.888V.

Other components used to make this record included Asrock Z170 OC Formula mainboard, a G. Skill Ripjaws 4 DDR4 RAM along with a 1300W power supply unit. Added to these, the processor was cooled using liquid Nitrogen (LN2).

While this professional overclocker acheiver speeds up to 7GHz using Intel Core i7 Skylake processors, it would be interesting to notice if the retail versions of these microprocessor chip will be able to kiss even 5GHz mark with the commercially available cooling systems. Another point that needs to be looked upon is the use of single core instead of all four. This extreme overclocking is surely interesing, but with changing times, the value of single-core CPU is diminishing.
