Aloha everyone,

So sorry that I haven’t been updated in a while. Well, lot has happened since my last post. I quit my part-time job and was officially done at the end of March. I thought I would have more time to tackle things especially my art, but I ended up cleaning out cabinets and rooms I haven’t cleaned in a long time!

I did start on a new art journey: I have been exploring pastels! I love them so much! At first I was a little apprehensive and it took me a while to figure out how to use them. So here are a few pieces I have been working on.

I am having such a wonderful time learning pastels. They are so different from colored pencils.

I am also working on a pet portrait which I will share when I’m done,

Aloha everyone and long time no see! My my, it has been 3 whole years!

So a lot has happened, I don’t even know where to begin. But, all in all, I’m still creating art and I will post some recent pieces. I’ve also started to learn zentangles. If you are not familiar with them, they are so cool! It’s a type of doodling that’s done on square, triangle or round pieces. I mostly stick with the square and the nice thing is, it doesn’t have to be perfect, so no need to stress! Here are a few zentangles I’ve done. For more information, go to https://zentangle.com/

Aloha everyone! Long time no C! Well, lots of stuff has happened between the last post and today. Just a quick note. I do not have the website anymore. I did keep the domain name but it was just too cumbersome to keep adding to it. I think this will be a lot easier.

Right now I am not scrapbooking anymore, although I really should. I miss it! Instead, I am now doing colored pencil drawing, like pet and people portraits. I also doodle quite a lot on my Procreate using my iPad and Apple Pencil. It’s so fun! Here are a few things I have done on my iPad:

I have slowed down a lot creative-wise and I also have a part time job now. I love my job because it keeps me active. I still have my Etsy store. Mostly GoodNotes planners and journals. I will post again in the next few days... More to come! Ciao!!

At DND (Dawn Nicole Designs) we are doing a year of color.

This is the color persimmon.

Limerick. I didn't know that a limerick was similar to a poem.

It's EASY to make your own Kombucha Tea! I have been making it for almost a year now! Lots of people have asked to buy it from me, but I'd rather show you how to make it.

Have you heard of Kombucha, the beverage the ancient Chinese called the “Immortal Health Elixir?” It’s been around for more than 2,000 years and has a rich anecdotal history of health benefits like preventing and fighting cancer, arthritis, and other degenerative diseases. Made from sweetened tea that’s been fermented by a symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast (a SCOBY, a.k.a. “mother” because of its ability to reproduce, or “mushroom” because of its appearance), Kombucha didn’t gain prominence in the West until recently.

In the first half of the 20th century, extensive scientific research was done on Kombucha’s health benefits in Russia and Germany, mostly because of a push to find a cure for rising cancer rates. Russian scientists discovered that entire regions of their vast country were seemingly immune to cancer and hypothesized that the kombucha, called “tea kvass” there, was the cause. So, they began a series of experiments which not only verified the hypothesis, but began to pinpoint exactly what it is within kombucha which was so beneficial. (More on website)

Crochet Hats Galore!

First of all, I want to apologize for being away so long! But as you know, life happens! And it's been amazing. I love doing the jewelry, but one day I just started crocheting, mostly hats for me for when I have those "bad hair days." I really need to get a model, but since I'm it, that's what you get lol!

Then it all began. I made some crocheted owl hats for my grandkids. As I was showing them on FB and Instagram, people started asking me to make them for me; how much did I charge, etc. So word of mouth spread and I started making all kinds of hats.

Anyway, you can see that I've been busy. I love my new "job." I stay at home, do my household chores and work on my crafts, and I'm happy!

Mata Bia earrings

Hey I finally got some time to work on something new. My mom gave me these shells (we call them mata bia, Indonesian for eye shell), years ago to make earrings out of and I've been wracking my brain on how to put them together. I thought about wire-wrapping, but I finally just went looking for a tutorial on how to make a beaded bezel. You can find the tutorial here.
