A special show screened for Mani Ratnam

Director Bejoy Nambiar, whose Shaitan is being much talked about in Bollywood arena, was recently in Chennai to screen the film for his mentor, Director Mani Ratnam.

The film stars Rajeev Khandelwal and Kalki Koechlin, and deals with the lives of six individuals.The director was quoted saying, “It was a special screening for Mani sir. I’ve assisted him in Guru, Raavanan and Raavan, and his opinion matters a lot to me”.

The screening was held at a popular multiplex in the city. Cameraman Madhie and production designer Rajeevan were also present at the screening..

After seeing the film, the director infused some words of appreciation to the director Bejoy..

Mani sir liked the film a lot and he was quite happy with the outcome. He’s a talented director and I love all his works. Getting his approval for my film was very important for me,” said Bejoy.

‘ராணா’ படத்தில் 17-ம் நூற்றாண்டைச் சேர்ந்த தமிழ்ப் பெண்ணாக நடிக்கிறேன் என்று தீபிகா படுகோன் கூறினார். ரஜினிகாந்த் 3 வேடங்களில் நடிக்கும் ‘ராணா’ படத்தில் ஹீரோயினாக நடிக்கிறார், இந்தி நடிகை தீபிகா படுகோன். இதில் நடிப்பது பற்றி நிருபர்களிடம் அவர் கூறியதாவது: ரஜினியுடன் நடிப்பதால், என் கனவு நனவாகிவிட்டது என்று சொல்ல மாட்டேன். ஏனென்றால் இப்படியொரு வாய்ப்பு கிடைக்கும் என்று கனவு கூட கண்டதில்லை. இது அதையும் தாண்டிய விஷயம். இதில், 17-ம் நூற்றாண்டு தென்னிந்திய பெண்ணாக நடிக்கிறேன். இந்தப் படத்தில் எனது லுக் எப்படியிருக்கும் என்கிறார்கள்.

அந்த காலத்தில் எப்படி இருப்பார்களோ அதே போன்ற உடை, அணிகலன்களுடன் நடிக்கிறேன். ‘தேவதாஸ்’ இந்தி படத்துக்கு காஸ்ட்யூம் டிசைனராக பணியாற்றிய நீதா லுல்லா இதில் பணியாற்றுகிறார். இப்போது பாடல் காட்சியில் நடித்து வருகிறேன். ரஜினியுடன் நடிக்கப் போகும் நாட்களுக்காக காத்திருக்கிறேன். அவர் தலைசிறந்த நடிகர். இது போலான மிகப்பெரிய வாய்ப்பு இனி எனக்கு கிடைக்கப்போவதில்லை. நான், தென்னிந்தியாவை சேர்ந்தவள் என்றாலும் நல்ல படம் மூலமாக தமிழில் அறிமுகமாக காத்திருந்தேன். இதற்காக கதைகளை கேட்டு வந்தேன். ‘ராணா’ வாய்ப்பு வந்தபோது இது எனக்காகவே வந்ததாக நினைத்துக்கொண்டேன். இதற்கு முன் ரஜினி படங்கள் பார்த்திருக்கிறீர்களா? என்று கேட்கிறீர்கள். ஒரே ஒரு படம்தான் பார்த்திருக்கிறேன். அது, ‘எந்திரன்’. இவ்வாறு தீபிகா படுகோன் கூறினார். பேட்டியின் போது இயக்குனர் கே.எஸ்.ரவிகுமார், சவுந்தர்யா ரஜினிகாந்த், ஒளிப்பதிவாளர் ரத்னவேலு உடனிருந்தனர்.

Chinmayii Sriprada , a multi faceted person has many feathers in her cap. Apart from playback singing, she is an RJ, An avid blogger, language translator, TV anchor and a dubbing artist too.

The singer apart from singing also loves to cook.. She is passionate about cooking, in general, and baking in particular.

When asked about how she developed the interest, she chirpily replies” Coming to think of it, I don’t know when exactly I started. All that I know is that once I began, I was totally into it. My first baking experience involved a chocolate fudge microwave oven cake. I tried to make it following a microwave oven recipe and from then, I’ve taken to cooking like a fish takes to water”..

She also actively campaigns for organic food..
