Im starting to get the hang of this 3d plotting, I think Im gonna build a career out of it. lol. But it's really fun to finally have the power to put into visualization all these Physics equations we've been dealing since since. What I've been doing lately at the expense of my weekends! By the way, this is the very first gif I've made and it was from a mesh program I did thru Python Mayavi. Codes are from manual. I just thought the animation is cool. It's why I'm posting this here for the lack of anything else interesting to post. I'm trying to mesh a stereographic profile of a pyramid-textured silicon. Hopefully, that's the next stuff I'll be posting here if the thesis regulations allow it. That's it for today. Back to my robot ways. 101010101010. Exterminate! That would include that woman I sat beside the jeepney; she was bitchy! The other two would've been the fat guys who had to really squeeze me in my seat at the train ride. It was apparently the point I started feeling pain from my crotch. Another one would be the donut vendor who won't sell donuts coz she didn't have change. And the rest would be the surplus. These people, really!

There was no way I could have turned that day around, instead I ended up with a very painful pair of testicles.

I planned this day ahead to be in an extraordinary level of brightness. I would've have worn a pair of red pants topped with a gayish shirt. But then the day before was a disappointment that creeped its way into the next day.

That's how unremarkable this week have been save for the failed experiments for thesis which will most likely continue until next week. My creativity couldn't even save this entry. This will probably go down as my worst ever.

Anyhow, I just wanted to write something about, while waiting for the Heroes Season 2 to complete download.

And oh!, did I mention I ended up having painful testicles?

I tend to compose a lot of philosophical and scientific essays in my head. So a few days ago I just thought of a someone from my past. It was a bittersweet affair and didn't end nicely that for the past two or three years I still think about that person. So you know what they say about letting it all go shizz. So I tried putting into words what I have been trying to say for the past few years. Not that I want him to ever read this but I just wanted to feel to really let go this time and find my own peace of mind. After all, it's been so many years and I have to move on in the most genuine sense this time. And true enough, the day after I wrote it, I'm off the hook. I couldn't even remember a word from the letter I wrote. So there my love lost goes. I hope this letter really seals this segment of my life for good.

Dear C.

I know this is an age-old topic that i should have just forgotten a long time ago but once and for all I am putting a close to everything with this semi-indulgent letter. But I don't wish this to reach you and I hope you don't ever read it. And by the way, the me so obsessed with very organized literary compositions will not be in this letter. After all, I am just trying to put into words what I have been thinking for so many years. So here it goes.

For the longest time I have been dodging feelings for other people. I felt I owe it to the humankind to have one less messy relationship to keep things in order. But when you came around my scarcely remarkable life, I felt a little more brightness and a little less sadness. With you trying to distract me for attention, I felt a little special. The me so naive and inexperienced with interhuman affection misinterpreted every little attention you've shown me. We flirted a little and I went psycho about it and I thought it was love. So I guess that scared you off. So when you just walked out, I really felt shit and almost suicidal. Using your own words of me, "you're so full of yourself." If you haven't figured it out yet, you were the first person ever I thought I'd pursue having a relationship with. After you left I thought I was gonna be fine and live on. But no. The thing with this whole ordeal with love lost is you can deny all you want and try not to think what you've done wrong to push people away. But then you get a lot of time alone and you unwantingly sink into thinking again. Yes, I cried once or probably more. I thought I was a strong person but I guess I just loved you a little more than I should have. There were just things about you that are special to me. You were the kind of person I imagined riding into the sunset with. I guess I was really broken by the things that I never wanted to happen. So this appallingly crazy person me went into this empty sex with a stranger that I don't even remember the face of, thinking I'm doing myself healing.

From then on I never had sex with anyone. I guess it took me a regretable one to realize that this ridiculous cliche about making love only for love is rather not so ridiculous at all. Anyway, the point of this letter is just to get these thoughts off my head. Two or three years have passed and somehow i still wonder of the things that might have been. But things have changed and I feel like I've lost some things along the way. And if there's anything at all that I've learned during the entire process, it is that nothing in this life is really that fairy tale easy. I guess it's just so human nature for people to hurt other people. So I think Im gonna stay single for a long time, not that there's been any offer. But the point is I guess I've grown too much to be part of this whole human ordeal. Or now that I thought of it, I think I've just really grown this "stay away from me" aura. I've kinda grown to accept that there's no way homosexual relationships can have a rainbow happy ending. It might just be me though. As for you, I would like to thank you for that lady gaga scribble you wrote for me. Now that I look back at it, i regret feeding it off the shredder. I would also like to thank you for the life-changing experience that it has been. The whole heartbreak process probably killed me for a few hours and scarred me for some months. But, cliche as it may sound, it has taught me to grow a new kind of bone that helped me accept things the way they are. Now Im settled in my pathetic and mediocre career but I am living and I am content. Though it's what everyone else is after, I will not be chasing my happy ending anytime soon. So I am hoping all the best for you and your life. I hope that by writing this letter, I have shaken you off my mind and my heart. I love you and always will. And just like I told you the last time, "See you again when we're all cats!"

Eternally,
This is 1996. Ewan McGregor. In his younger years. In the "worst toilet in Scotland". The name of the film: "Trainspotting". By Danny Boyle. Remember 127 Hours? Slumdog Millionaire? Yep! That's him. He was at the helm in probably one of the more critically acclaimed films in UK (all-time).

After this frame, Ewan did something even more grotesque. Review next.

So there's this one Korean - Chinese film (in millions I've seen this week) named "A Good Rain Knows When To Come" or (in some other territories) "Season of Rain" directed by Hur Jin-ho, which I really like. I was in a Korean cinema marathon mode this week and the reason I came across this film is Jung Woo Sung, who played one of the protagonists. For some reason, it had the feel of Sofia Coppola's "Lost in Translation", which appeals to my bias towards works that don't shout their message out too loud. Yes, the movie was quiet, not to mention awkward, because the English the chararacters speak are Korean and Chinese sorts. But the film is rich in green-ness and spring rain of Chengdu (a city/town in China), which provides a refreshing backdrop to a not-so-easy love story. All in all, the film just opens up again an unfinished affair between lovers only to leave it open again though not without confrontation. But there are days in one's life that a person wish for rain to come. And for a Chengdu girl, the coming of the spring rain is just what she needed.

Anyway, I was not gonna make a review for this film and the only reason for this post is that the film had a really nice scoring and soundtrack. And yes, I'm a sucker for films with great music. (Remember 'The Hours'? 'Atonement'?)
It's just a shame that when I googled the lyrics for Jo Sung Bin's "Falling Down", an original song from the film, there's not a page that has it. So I listened to the song some 4-6 times, not without efforts, to come up with a lyrics page. So to whoever come across the film "A Good Rain Knows When To Come" and find it great, I hope this page shows up when you google the OST:

[Lyrics] Falling Down by Jo Sung Bin

Maybe sometime
I could be here again
trying to find love
we don't know yet.

Maybe something
to make us come around,
the rain will be something
to let me come down.

There is silence
flowing around me
in the air
when you approach.

Maybe it's something
to make you turn around,
the raining is something
just holding me now.

I know that you wonder
where we stay around.
Maybe I found you
always here in my mind.

It's falling around me.
I'm feeling like lost in time.
I'm waiting behind you.
Just don't let me down.

You're running away now.
You're sinking in flowing time.
The raining reminds me of your smile.
Don't bring me down.

(PS: I find some of the words funny too. Regardless, the song is still a beauty. It can be my hearing though.)

MAY I QUOTE LANG from some Jasmin Miralles from Celdran’s fanpage:

and i say FALLACY!!! HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF INCONSISTENCY AD HOMINEM? INAATAKE NIYO ANG PAG-OPPOSE NG CHURCH SA RH DAHIL NAALARMA SILA SA MARAMING ABORTION? HELLO!!! CONNECT? HINDI DAHIL AYAW NG CHURCH NA MAY NATATAGPUANG FETUS EVERYWHERE EH DAPAT BUYUIN NIYO NA SILANG ‘WAG MANGIALAM SA RH! YOU’RE FAILING TO MAKE A RELEVANT DISCRIMINATION, WHEN ABORTION AND BIRTH CONTROL ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS!!! ONE DOES NOT PRESUPPOSE THE OTHER FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! IF THEY BADLY NEED THIS BILL BE PASSED, I SUGGEST PROPONENTS STICK TO THEIR ARGUMENTS AND NOT PULL SOME STUNTS JUST LIKE WHAT THE CULPRIT HAVE DONE JUST A COUPLE OF HOURS AGO! THAT DOES HARDLY HELP THE BILL AT ALL, DOES IT? IF ANYTHING, IT ONLY PROVES THESE PEOPLE'S IGNORANCE.

Some theory by Heisenberg. Well, in fact it is!

Today, while on my way to Dive Republic for a 1pm PE class in SCUBA diving, I kept thinking why people in UA&P are taking liberal arts. And then it went all the way back to high school rearing. I don't know but these thoughts somehow drove me to take the uncertainty principle into a whole new level. And I believe it was somewhat personal. I just could not put everything into words at this point. I'm still at a task of formalizing (which I mean putting into a clean notebook with all the embellishments and stuff) that I just found out it was a Mg strip that was used in an experiment. So I am putting up this draft just so that I will be engrossed in following up on something unfinished. I promise to get back to this in a day or two.

Long time!

(Well, obviously!) Hindi ko nga lang maalala ang title. At ginamit sa Sabayang Pagbigkas.

Anyway, marahil isa sa mga paborito kong tula for all time. Dahil siguro sa napaka-romantikong tunog ng mga talata. And Im not writing this to make a review.

Marahang-marahang
manaog ka, Irog, at kata’y lalakad,
maglulunoy katang
payapang-payapa sa tabi ng dagat;
di na kailangang
sapnan pa ang paang binalat-sibuyas,
ang daliring garing
at sakong na wari’y kinuyom na rosas!

Manunulay kata,
habang maaga pa, sa isang pilapil
na nalalatagan
ng damong may luha ng mga bituin;
patiyad na tayo
ay maghahabulang simbilis ng hangin,
nguni’t walang ingay,
hangganq sa sumapit sa tiping buhangin...

Pagdating sa tubig,
mapapaurong kang parang nanginigmi,
gaganyakin kata
sa nangaroroong mga lamang-lati:
doon ay may tahong,
talaba’t halaang kabigha-bighani,
hindi kaya natin
mapuno ang buslo bago tumanghali?

Pagdadapit-hapon
kata’y magbabalik sa pinanggalingan,
sugatan ang paa
at sunog ang balat sa sikat ng araw...
Talagang ganoon:
Sa dagat man, irog, ng kaligayahan,
lahat, pati puso
ay naaagnas ding marahang-marahan...

Cormac McCarthy. A Journal on the Somewhat Semi-Apocalypse That was. Or You Can Call It a Semi-Book Review

It's been more than half a month now, and I got over the extreme emotions from The Road. But I can still remember having the hardest time finishing the last few remaining pages of the novel not because of laziness but the difficulty of accepting the circumstances in the story beyond my expectations. The ending left me heartbroken for quite some time. But I realized that I just need to remember the miracle of beauty rising from ashes; i.e. hope from despair, love from hatred, life from death. And thus, the essence of the book.

And here is an unfinished review I tried composing but never got the chance completing but worthwhile publishing:

It's been a little over a week ago now that I finished reading Cormac McCarthy's The Road. And quite frankly, I couldn't move on to my other dozens of readings and they pile up waiting. Not until I write something about the extraordinary experience The Road was. And warn you, whoever had the misfortune of coming across this page, that this is a journal, so a lot from the book might be spilled.

The first time I heard of The Road was about a year ago while trying to fish for the runners for the Oscars after mid-year. Back then, predictions were strongly on Body of Lies, Revolutionary Road, The Reader, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Soloist, Doubt, Valkyrie, Defiant, The Road and Australia. Slumdog Millionaire was not even on the radar yet and I was so rooting for Australia. Anyway, to cut the story short, I didn't care about The Road. All I knew was Viggo Mortensen was in it. And just so you know, the film release is not going to be until this November, just found out recently.

So over a year after, it was an entirely different story. What started out as a "maturity" of passion for books became obsession. You see, it was supposed to be Neil Gaiman first and then "the rest". But he used first person in most of his narrations (which I hated). So came Cormac McCarthy's The Road, mass trade paperback, with Viggo Mortensen on the cover. I even had to get it using gift certificates.

Credentials of a certain piece attracts my attention. So when I came across one Oprah episode that somehow gave me an idea that The Road is part of the Oprah's Book Club, I became interested. And then found out that only a few books get into that selection. And then found out that it's won several top prizes for literature, Pulitzer Prize 2007 for Fiction among others. And then it climbed up on my list of readings just behind Neil Gaimans.

The novel was constructed so simply. There was not even an introduction, preface or what have you, that a standard book should have. I even hated the incomplete sentences being the entire sentence already because that would alarm me that a book is too dramatic. Nevertheless, I went on with the book. It began with man waking up in darkness in the woods, reaching out for his son and in that instance, fear and nothingness was established. And during daytime, the world is gray covered with ashes which I imagined falling from the sky as normal as the atmosphere is suspended to cover to a planet. There were no other creatures apart from them, or otherwise they would not let their presence be known. This somewhat prompted me to think, "I Am Legend." What happened? Has everyone caught virus and turned into zombies and monsters? Has the earth collapsed? For some reason, these questions were answered in the slightest clues throughout the entire story. But I do know that apocalypse had happened. So everywhere they turned is danger and they were "each the other's world entire".

After reading the book and after crying so hard that day, it was ironically manifesting outside that Ondoy (or Parma) was already devastating the entire country. So it reminded me that the book can have an environmental angle. That at some point in Homo Sapien history, there will be extinction. And I am optimist that we can still somewhat decide whether it would be in a thousand years or sooner. But it was not obviously the main point of the story. And it was definitely not what I sobbed for.

Another Korean Super. A Film Review

Another proof that Korean cinema is superior in the world in its creativity. Watching this reminded me of Blue Spring, a Japanese film that reminded me of what it is for a film to be creative and poetic again when all flicks accessible in the theaters today are only those money-making comparable to factory excesses or rather excrements of drought ideas.

OK, enough said about bad cinema stuffs.

I've seen a lot of Korean films in my young enthusiasm for film appreciation. What I dont understand is why there a lot of them but do not fail to surprise you with their twists. And in fairness to these twists, they are very believable. And "Oldboy", wow!, just stood up to the rostrum and shouted out loud to lead the Korean bunch.

The cinema experience is almost or even perfect if there's such a thing. The cinematography is unique. I don't know if it has been copied from something else but it reminded me of the beauty of anime articulation in screen sense. And that was shown during fight scenes and the pans of the screen from one scene to another. It was crazy!

Im speaking non-sense already but I think Roger Ebert understands what I mean. Id rather have him explain everything:
Finalement! The one movie I've been dying to see since God-knows-when!!! I swear to God, I tried all of its scheduled screenings ever since the film fest began without any luck!!!

Today! Ouis! With all the rain and bagyo! For an 8pm screening, I had to rush to Shang before 6! 5:30 and the line was long. The tickets were distributed 6! I was so afraid to lose ticket! haha! Well, not on the last screening! I've learnt my leçon all this time...

[tears...] haha! The movie was so cute! Unlike "Clean" and "Changement d'Adresse", this has no tear-jerkers! You'll just feel the comedy of a love story of two old people who behave in a not-so-mature manner wehn it comes to love. I won't tell more! Basta! cute s'ya! nagustuhan ko s'ya! 'Yun lang! It was worth it...I walked out of the theater smiling...And I am developing an impression for French films! Hmmm...well, I'd rather see "Ma vie en l'air" and "Ah! si j'etais riche" tomorrow... and the overall assessment of the festival....Au revoir!

By now, which is the 2nd to the last day of French Film Fest in Manila, I managed to watch just a third film, Romane de Gare!

[It's been two weeks and three films! Yeps! Sadly...either I don't have time to Shang or I am sleeping after work or in most cases, I'm at Shang but one hour before the film and the tickets are out! Damn these people! They love free stuffs!]

I haven't even watched "Ah si j'etais Riche", "Ma vie en L'Air" and "Je crois que je l'aime" which I've been dying to see since even the film fest haven't started yet!

I was able to catch "Changement d'Adresse" and "Clean" last week which were just about comme çi, comme ça!

Très bien! Allez-nous de retourner au film Romane de Gare! Ça va très bien! I didn't even expect it! So far, of the three movies I watch, this is the best! Alright! Alright! Don't expect a movie review to follow. I can't make one right now. It's just so hectic! But generally, Romane was very very nice! Nicely done!

Ça va! A brief sharing: it was a very very clever story about an author and a drama! You won't appreciate until you watch it! It's just so complicated to write a review about! But here's to expect: You'll laugh at Huguette's stupidity or at Pierre's mannerisms. You'll be scared by Pierre's and Judith's mysteries. You'll be moved at the end. And you'll be impressed over all! That's at least if you know how to appreciate a good film...

Anyway, if you're reading this! Oui, vous! You should be envy! I watched it for free at Shang! You won't find it in your suking video city! Astrovision? Not a chance! Because it's French, foreign, étrangére. Alliance might have some copy someday! Last day tomorrow and tickets will be gone in 10 minutes, trust me!

And I am off to watch the last film of the day, Je crois que je l'emais (I Think I'm in Love)!
Reviews later! I totally thought they deserved title after beating powerhouses Phoenix Suns and San Antonio Spurs.

But we all went home crying...and I literally cried!

And last year, their strongest season EVER, and probably one of the best regular season an NBA team could ever have...(just second to Chicago) They went to playoffs having all this comparison to Chicago Bulls, that they're going to go all the way to the finals and claim the trophy finally.

And boom! A low-profile, no-chance-to -go-to-the-Finals, unusual playoff contender such as Golden State Warriors ruined these dreams...

And I cried as well..

And now, for the third time, Im cryin' again!

Yeah! It hurts when you're a fan...

How could Dallas do this every single year? They're hurting thousands of fans like me when they go to a game starting strong and losing eventually because they did not persist!

How is it that they can crush powerhouses Phoenix and San Antonio and not losers such as Miami, Golden State and New Orleans?

How is it that they cannot prevail over mind battles?

Now, I don't know what to expect more of them. They proved more times than they ever should have to be disappointing a team they are.

...BUT! I will still be a fan.

They kind of disliked what happened because Kidd is new to the team and still adusting...yada! yada!

I was annoyed by the remarks because in the first place, Nowitzki is the CAPTAIN of the team.
Duh! He has all the rights in the world to reprimand "everybody" in the team if that will better their performance.

No one was stepping up or at least HELP, how do you suppose a captain to act?

Second point, agree or not, we know that though team's name is Dallas Mavericks, it's AKA Team Dirk!

They shouldn't have traded Devin Harris for a "kid" to begin with! Stupid Dallas!

Sorry Kidd fans, but I am a DALLAS fan and Kidd in the team is not doing any good.

But let's see. Playoffs' not over yet. If Kidd can do something to get Dallas back up, I might take back what all I've said.

But for now, let's not consider the fight with the two a fault on Dirk's side! PUH-LEASE!!
