Going back to school has never looked so FETCH! Preppy is in again.

Proenza Schouler ‘s collection of pleated school skirts with thigh-high stockings and fur-collared varsity blazers as well as DKNY showing of the knee high socks with cutesy sandals. However cold or in this case hot Antarctica may be Chanel had a few schoolyard looks- along with the exquisite snow queen/cave man warmth... However the wilder-beast does not really do it for me, nevertheless those fur coats and boots are the epitimi of accomplished class and style of the Autumn/Winter season.

At 2 past 7pm we ran to the wharf of near the trawlers in Southport to aboard a Party Boat to celebrate Adrian and Josh's 18ths! We partied at sea for a few hours then sleeved the Captain to head in early to continue the affairs in the one and only Surfers Paradise.

The famous 1865 English novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Charles L. Dodgson, tells the tale of a young girl, Alice who falls down a rabbit hole into a fantasy world full of anomalous and peculiar characters. This story has influenced imagination and logic through other genres. It has been extremely popular to adults and children. The 2010 Tim Burton’s Disney version of ‘Alice in Wonderland’ involves a whole new tale of a nineteen-year old Alice returning to her childhood make-believe adventures, where she reunites with her old friends and learns her true destiny to help defeat the tyrannical Red Queen's reign of terror.

In Burton’s film version he has introduced a benevolent White sister (Anne Hathaway) of the Evil, Red Queen of Hearts(Helena Bonham Carter).
Johnny Depp plays the role of non-other then the chalk-white Mad Hatter__this being his seventh collaboration with Tim Burton over twenty years. Its become an automatic now that Johnny Depp will appear in Tim Burtons productions. Depp even quoted that when Burton called, he would have been happy to play Alice.
"I wonder if I've been changed in the night? Let me think. Was I the same when I got up this morning? I almost think I can remember feeling a little different. But if I'm not the same, the next question is 'Who in the world am I?' Ah. That's the great puzzle!"

Alice in Wonderland- Lewis Carroll

Alice in Wonderland was one of my past-time novels as I was growing up. I loved the fantastical, yet cynical world that she had fabricated in her mind under that tree.
I'll have my report after tomorrow night. It's a Tim Burton, so I'm sure its going to be a winner.

Lemon, Peach and Almond Cake

Gluten Free.Wheat Free.Dairy Free.Sugar Free.Preservative Free- Flourless

Ingredients
200g Almond Meal
Three Eggs
Canned peaches
One Lemon
Pecans
Table spoon of Honey
Shredded Coconut

Directions
Preheat oven to 180 degrees C, fan bake
Separate the 3 egg whites and yolks (keep yolks), beat egg whites until fluffy and stiff
Grate lemon skin and squeeze juice
Add almond meal, pecans, honey, coconut, lemon skins and juice
Mash peaches and add them into mixture along with their juice
Fold mixture into each other
Cover cake tin with baking paper and then add the mixture
Cook for 20-25 minutes

Let it cool or pop it straight into the fridge
I prefer it served cold

The Season of Autumn/First Day of School

Oh how fantastic the morning was when I awoke to the sound of rain and a pitch black sky... now I'm no bat but how I love the notion of witnessing a change in season.. AUTUMN IS HERE! Ps. the sky might have been pitch black because I happened to wake up half an hour before my set alarm... of 4.30am..I was still joyous. The cause of waking up this early.. My First Day of School... Well, UNIVERSITY.
As I still live in the Golden region I must under-take the daily mission of catching an one-hour train and a half hour bus to the city of Brisbane, where I now attend Griffith Universiy.. studying a Bachelor of Environmental Management. I need a Translink GO pass PS. I think it will be rather enjoyable. I have a conscience and awareness of the environment and would like to help make the world a better place... however in saying that I was planning on doing creative industries at QUT.. but then last minute decissions i accepted my Griffith offer instead due to fatherly influences dictating "think of practicality chelsea..." So here I am. I can always change I guess.. nevertheless, I rather enjoyed my first day of experiencing uni life. Although I had to catch a train home by myself at 7pm tonight.. which was rather daunting but I suppose yet another experience... just hope i make it home next time..

I Also began Great Expectations by Charles Dickens a book that I have had for far too long to have been unseen. A new season. A few new starts.

Back to the FUTURE!

If the rain kept falling and gray clouds took over the sky would thousands still congregate to the Doomben Racecourse in Brisbane on Saturday 27th February 2010 for the largest Electornica Festival that tours Australia.... I say HELL YES.. bring on the mud!!
This wet day was full of an unbelievable line-up with beats and beeps, and a whole lot of bass.
This year Future Music Festival brought you the gods of house, disco and dance...
The Prodigy, Franz Ferdinand, Empire of the Sun, David Guetta, Booka Shade, Erick Morillo, Bag Raiders, John Digweed, Sven Vathm, Above & Beyond, Dubfire, Boys Noize plus plenty more.
Lucky for me the dearest older sister Zaphra jut happened to be in japan.. so I helped myself to her floral playsuit.
ps. did I metion it fully rained all day and everyone was so muddy. So many gross guys were running and sliding through the mud. Fortunatley for myself I happened to be wearing my trusty roomper stoompers and black stockings..
Not arriving until 5pm was the down fall as we waited at Coomera Train Station for a couple of hours for Brooklyn's bf.. cause the trains stopped running therefore from Nerang Train Station we had to bus to Coomera where we would wait for a train.. We skipped the train and went for the lift.. down side it took us ages to get there... upside we ended up getting VIP tickets cause a friend was on the door and a few other things that presented an extremely fun night.
VIP came in handy as it was pretty much the only sheltered areas which made my hair that one strand dryer...

On the Road..

Mid way between Brisbane and Sydney, on the New England Highway is the town of Armidale. I was bribed to keep Rob (my father) company on the six hour drive to this unfamilar, most cosmipolitan city of New South Wales populated with about 25,000 citizens.. while father worked for 2 hours I wondered the wet abandoned streets playing mario on DS while still admiring the scenic views and remnants that were once homes and churches. Walking the tracks on the train optimistically hoping I would not come across any snakes I found this old bridge that became my favourite shot.. It reminded me of an old film. Heading back to my hometown after much uncomfortable sleeping we stoped of at a bakery that apparently had "the best pies ever" in which I would not know because I don't eat meat.. but if your in the area (unlikely but possible) make sure you check it out for yourself. My spinach and ricotta triangle wasn't bad.. but I have had better frozen ones. However this trip had many advantages when I pleaded to stop of in a passing town at a random second-hand store where I managed to locate a few great finds. Two hours away from the coast this inland Northern tableland could never be my city... There's just no place like home.

20th of February 2010 held the day of... GOOD VIBRATIONS!

and what a good day that was. The R rated children gathered to the Parkland showgrounds for a day in the sun. With an extraordinary line up comprised up of... THE KILLERS, Basement Jaxx, Armand Van Helden, Gossip, Busta Rhymes, Z-Trip, Kid Cudi, Gym Class Heroes, Chase and Status, Dave Seaman, Art vs Science, Chuckie, Spinderella, Cassette Kids, Kid Kenobie... also just to be super corny... would you like some SALT-N-PEPPA with that. A bit of Old School Hip-Hop at its best with Naughty by Nature. How could one not get high just from being there not to mention the instant party mood atmosphere that WE Golden Coasters know how to create.

Newest Fan of... Fanfarlo

I must have been buried underground for the last year to have not herd of the band... Fanfarlo before. Until last night on Letterman, had no idea this London-based band existed. The indie pop band appear to be more famous in the US then in their personal motherland- the United Kingdom. There is an abundant of guitars, drums, trumpets and a mandolin. They recorded their album in 2008 and the producer brought it out in Feb last year. I downloaded a heap of their songs from their album Reservoir... my favorite song was track nine "Harold T. Wilkins or How to Wait a Very Long Time". I've gone to the pleasure of leaving you with the video for your self amusement, bestowed by the one and only Youtube.
The Swedish, lead singer Simon Balthazar began Fanfarlo in 2006 and has been unsuccessful in creating an image amidst the devotees, until recently. This attractive boy has now discovered a new Fanfarlo panache...

Drive in..

Last night myself, Brooklyn and Meeka went to the Drive-in Theatre in Yatala.

It was raining though so we hardly left the car... just snuggled in the back with the seats down and the boot up, getting eaten alive by mosquitoes. Ps. remember your aroguard. I wanted to go inside the diner but it closed early so we didn't go inside. I shall go again soon for the "Back to the 50's Classic Night!" I have my blue 50's costume from my high school musical Grease.. so I have an outfit awaiting in my dress-up box till this evening.

Vanilla Chai Latte on a rainy day... I can hear Autumn already.

As it is the third day of the year according to the Luna calendar I feel it is my duty to make my third post.

Which seems in order anyway seeing as while I sip of my soy vanilla latte on this frigid, rainy late afternoon… I sense that autumn breeze is just around the corner… So as I sit inside on my mac I am drawing my fashion inspiration for the upcoming season. The autumn/winter 2010 ready-to-wear runaway could not be of more help. Take inspiration from fashion's tactile trends. Its really about Velvet and Fur… never the less I am a massive fan of leather and studs for this coming A/W.
Blood is so the new black… Its not just us who craze over the Twilight saga, it appears as though designers are too fixated by the blood suckers… Blood on the runway is fashion’s latest accessory… It started in Milan with the Caten twins "The Hockey Horror Dsquared Show”. Jean Paul Gaultier’s menswear show in Paris also demonstrated a similar theme. “It's about combat, combating boredom, combatting the reigning depressive state," said Gaultier, while fake blood dripped from his forehead. This trend has continued in the autumn/winter show of Alexander Wang... through the couture however. The blood red velvet garments in are back from the underground… The resurgence of velvet is hard to ignore during the NY Fashion Week.

I got my velvet jacket from my grandmother who brought it about fifty years ago in England somewhere… So I would recommend loitering around some vintage stores to pick up yours.

Marc Jacob continues to impress with his collection of tailored coats with an influence of the Snow Queen... who happened to be my early childhood obsession.
Rag & Bone’s collection gives you an instant Scottish countryside warmth with the heavy layering and crochet textures.
Karl Lagerfeld following the footsteps of Gabrielle Coco Chanel… even she would be impressed by the shots from the Chanel Cruise 2010.
From the Venice Lido boardwalk setting to the 1920’s throwback clothes, everything about it is strikingly beautiful! Karl Lagerfeld chose this setting to debut this collection because Coco Chanel was such a fan of this particular Italian beach. Her yearly visits here during the 1920’s, made it rather relevant for this set of retro-glam resort wear and evening dresses.

Onto fur… also seen as feature pieces throughout a variety of A/W 2010/11 collection, Chado Ralph Rucci took it to the next level.
I’m also a fan of this fur vest I tried on today at Country Road for $199.
Definitely going to invest in one of these
Ps. Real fur is so not cute! I don't eat animals let alone wear them… animal print and animal fur should only be IMITATED. Please do not succumb so this inhumane act of cruelty.

To begin I was confused as to what to wear to this event and didn't know what to expect... However I then remembered this nylon mesh dress I found at the Browns Bay Markets in New Zealand. It was just like a massive garage sale type markets.. That over the top of a tulle skirt dress with a pair of Wayne Coopers... It was perfect. I love finding unique items that cost next to nothing..
Alongside my lovely sisters Zaphra and Courtney Simpson, and my best friend of ten years Brooklyn Maloney...

Season The First

Why Hello...
My name is Chelsea Simpson. However I prefer the name I derived from the last three letters of that name which fabricated... Season.
A little about myself... well I am a very family orientated person. My adolescence has been a normal, yet a completely abnormal and deviant journey. I'm so thankful for the people who kept me grounded and continue to impact positively on my life. My mother being my one true saint.
ps. A bit of an amateur.
I have played the piano for over five years.. I should be a lot better.
For an eighteen year old I am not immature just still premature.. I play dress ups regularly.. My dress up box is constantly flourishing with vintage pieces and costumes that only I would find useful!
I believe there is more to life... I believe in purpose and reason.
I have been to a few countries that have greatly influenced upon my life such as India, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, New Zealand and Vanuatu.
I anticipate the day I venture to the United States and the European region.
I enjoy painting- however my talent is deficient...
If I had a sewing machine my troubles would be forgotten... as for now I shall stick to my notebook.
To marry the Land of Japan and live there vigilantly would be ideal... However I would somehow miss the coastlines of the Gold Coast that I seem to abundantly dislike.
I need salvation in the city... and to find recess in adventure to the Unknown.
I still somewhat feel lost. I know I am on the right path though.
Winter is by far my favorite season. Fashion and dress deportment are always of a higher standard in Winter. Dark Colours appear darker in Winter. Vanilla Soy Lattes always taste better in Winter. Stocking & Fishnets seem more acceptable in winter. Your boots look better in Winter. Preppy coats and Gossip Girl trends are always implicated during Winter. Despite my birth season being spring. I have a lust for Winter. There's something about this cold season that gets me.
My club life is eventful... late nights and the earliest of mornings...
Photos are what I seem to live for. Capturing the moment is a true art.
A career in the creative field and fashion would be the dream... I long for the day that I publish my first Fashion Magazine!
My appreciation for Nature runs wild! I feel the need to protect this Environment that is so worth preserving… Today we are slowly and indubitably destroying this world we live in through our constant demands, constant consumerism, constant industrialism and constant development. When and only when we learn to conserve this oh so important Environment for ourselves and for future generations, then will we have WORLD PEACE! hah
I feel as though I am Confined to a world full of consumption..
This planet is my domain... I shall make a difference
