3 Trends For Fall (On A Budget)

If updating the ol' wardrobe for Fall is one of my favourite things to do, then snagging amazing pieces for less has got to be a close second... hey, it never hurts to have extra coffee money leftover after a shopping trip, amiright ladies? BAGGY STRAIGHT LEG JEANS

The 90's are still going strong as far as fashion trends go, and this F/W we're seeing more loose-fitting, straight leg jeans being paired with crop tops, oversized blazers and both sneakers and ankle boots alike. Think Bella Hadid vibes— so. damn. chic.

THE CHUNKY HEEL

OVERSIZED SWEATSHIRT

The oversized sweatshirt has been huge ever since athleisure became a thing, but this season things have taken a turn towards the grungier side of the spectrum where these toppers are concerned. Everything You Need to Know About Micro-Needling

As a total beauty junkie, I'm all about trying different products/treatments in the quest for better skin... so it should come as no surprise that micro-needling was high on my list of treatments to incorporate into my routine. After all, so many people in my personal life swear by it for improving skin texture, and even perfectly-complexioned celebs are all about it, too (like Meghan Markle!). So off I went to Dermalounge Medi Spa (11523 100 Avenue)— who I whole-heartedly trust with my face— to get eDermastamped. Now WTF am I talking about, you ask? Allow me to elaborate.

WHAT IS MICRO-NEEDLING?

Micro-needling, or collagen-induction therapy, is the process wherein tiny medical-grade needles are used across the face to create intentional wounding in the dermis of the skin. These tiny wounds trigger the skin's healing response, which stimulates the production of collagen and fibroblast activity, and ultimately helps to combat things like fine lines, acne scars and sun damage. This treatment also involves the infusion of some pretty powerful serums (which vary in scope depending on your particular needs) that are absorbed deep into the skin thanks to the micro-channels created during the needling process, leaving the complexion looking plump, hydrated and more radiant.

The tools used during this treatment can vary from clinic to clinic, but Dermalounge uses a Health Canada approved device called eDermastamp, which is minimally-invasive due to its cone-shaped needles (which causes less damage, and therefore requires less downtime, than other systems). This method is clinically proven to be super impactful against the common signs of aging, but even if wrinkles, loss of skin volume and crepey skin aren't on your radar just yet, targeting the epidermis in this way has also been found to minimize scars and stretch marks (you can have it done on your body, not just your face), and who amongst us couldn't use that? I'm sure even sparkle Markle would agree.

IS IT PAINFUL?

Honestly, not really. I definitely felt a bit more discomfort on some parts of my face than others (and if you get your nose done, that can feel super weird), but a topical numbing cream is applied before the treatment starts so you should feel very little.

WHAT'S THE RECOVERY PROCESS LIKE?

Not too bad. You can expect to be quite red and blotchy for about three days, with the first day being the most intense. My skin felt pretty tender throughout the healing process, which is normal, and I made sure to avoid makeup and unnecessarily touching my face for the first three days to maximize healing (you're allowed to wear mineral makeup if you absolutely need to). The team at Dermalounge also provides a handy Image Skincare healing kit to maximize the benefits of the treatment, which makes things nice and easy because you don't need to worry about your regular products interfering with the healing process.

After the redness fades around day three, you'll notice that your skin starts to pull and feel super dry. Now fret not, this is also a normal part of the recovery process. In fact, the pulling was so intense after my first treatment that it looked like I actually had some pretty gnarly wrinkles. Again, normal. After about a week of looking like a raisin, my skin suddenly became plump and radiant, and patches of texture that I had on my chin from previous breakouts started to look a lot smoother. And after my third treatment (I did three over the course of the year), that awkward, raisin-face stage lasted less and less, so bare that in mind if you're thinking about getting this treatment done and I scared you off it. It's honestly so worth it.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Now I'm no expert, and it's not like I've had a Kardashian-level of treatments over the years, but out of any other treatment I've tried, this one is hands down my favourite. It really does make your skin look more youthful and smooth, and when combined with a good skincare routine, I honestly think this one's some fountain-of-youth-level shizzz. Would a million per cent recommend!

Life Updates + Shirt Dresses

Not to name names, but someone's been a little MIA around here lately... To be fully honest with you guys, life just keeps getting in the way of updating this space, and since we're all Instagram friends, most of our interactions happen there anyway, but still, it's important to say hi here periodically, too. I don't want us to fully lose the connection we have on this platform, but because I'm in the process of building two new businesses (more on that later) on top of running my Instagram account, just be forewarned that things will be a little quiet on here in general. I'm thinking one post weekly should be the bare minimum, with two posts being a pretty rockin' week. Let's say Monday's are where it's at in terms of this space, with potential bonus posts coming your way Fridays. Sound fair? (please say yes)

PLT Summer Haul

Happy Monday, friends! Hope you guys had an amazing weekend, and an even better start to the week. And now that I'm fully caffeinated, I may even have a chance at the same. Thanks, Nesspresso.

To kick things off, I thought it would be fun to do a little Summer shopping haul from one of my fave brands, PrettyLittleThing. If you haven't shopped with them before, I'm sorry, but you're seriously missing out. They're always on top of the latest trends, they have a ridiculously massive selection of clothing, shoes and accessories to choose from, and as a total bonus, they also happen to be super affordable. It's a thing of beauty, I tell ya.

The first trend I went for while scrolling through the site was neon, and the second I saw it, I knew I couldn't live without this bodysuit. I love how it looks paired with a denim jacket, black bermuda shorts and cowboy boots, and I've been wearing it on repeat since it arrived a few weeks ago. It's super comfy, plus the off-the-shoulder silhouette and ruffle detailing make it incredibly flattering. Obsessed doesn't even begin to describe how I feel about this piece. Next, I hit up their dress section haaaard and fell in love with this white shirtdress for summer. It's the ultimate throw-on-and-go piece, and it looks equally amazing worn with sandals, sneakers, or boots (can you tell I'm having a cowboy boot moment?). It would also make a fab coverup for beach days, and come fall/winter, you could pair it with tights/boots, or even tuck it into jeans to get as much wear out of it as humanly possible. Talk about versatile.

Sidenote: how cute is that micro bag?! I'm DEAD.

Another thing I noticed while shopping the site was how bomb their jumpsuit section is right now; so if you're on the hunt for summer dresses, I would definitely recommend checking out the jumpsuits as well. Just a hot tip for you guys ;)

Last but certainly not least, I went a little ham on the PLT summer tops, and instantly scooped up this little off-the-shoulder beauty. Seriously though, is there anything better than a white top this time of year? So classic, and oh-so cute. I paired this one with jeans and platform sandals, which also happen to hail from PLT. And now that I've "dipped my toe" (just a little shoe humour for ya) into the fabulous world of platforms, I basically want them all... this is going to be one expensive summer.

Try This for Anti-Aging

When we think about what it means to look older, we tend to focus on the surface of the skin, but epidermal damage is only part of the problem; our underlying muscles also play a big part in the aging process... party. These muscles naturally weaken over time, causing skin to sag and lose firmness, especially around the eyes where skin is thinner and more fragile. To make matters worse, the natural fat deposits around the area move outward as we age, resulting in those dreaded undereye bags (you can affectionately call them designer if you like, but facts are facts).

Enter Genucel by Chamonix.

If you've never heard of this five-step system before, think of it as peptides (aka anti-aging powerhouses) in a bottle. And more specifically, Eyeseryl in a bottle, or a tetrapeptide that targets proteins known for breaking down beneficial substances in the skin over time. There are many things that can be done to augment the results of skincare, like following a healthy diet, drinking tons of water and getting enough rest each night, but it's avoiding the sun like the plague that arguably has the biggest results. We all know by now that UV radiation is the number one cause of visible aging, but in case you need more convincing, consider this: sun exposure has been proven to break down collagen and elastin in the skin, increase discolouration and unevenness, and horror of horrors, actually cause wrinkles. That means sunscreen rain or shine, and a big buh-bye to tanning. But don't worry friends— God invented bronzer for a reason. xx

Hello, and welcome back to another OOTD instalment! It's been a while, so allow me to refresh your memories; OOTD posts run in real-time to Instagram content, only here you get delightful musings and shopable links (which I realize is fully possible on Instagram too, but why give away the milk for free?). Anyway, here we are. 8am on a Thursday, and I've already downed two large coffees prior to the two coffee-related commitments I have scheduled for later today. Can you feel my hands shaking as you read this? Because t-h-e-y-a-r-e.

But enough about me and my caffeine addiction, let's get into the good stuff— the outfit of the day, as it were. I've been having a real blazer moment lately, and this Veronica Beard one was a recent find that's left me counting my lucky stars. I found it at the Nordstrom Rack designer sale last weekend, and it was love at first sight... the silhouette, colour and delicate pinstripes make it a perfect topper for this time of year, and it's unlike anything else I have in my wardrobe. Sigh. If you're looking for something that's equally unique (and a bargain), I would seriously suggest spending some time on TheRealReal; unrelated, but their Gucci section is totally on fire lately. Consider that your hot tip of the day. And speaking of, fashion biz enthusiasts might enjoy reading about TheRealReal entering the so-called retail "unicorn club" — talk about having an adventure in fashion, ammiright? Ba da bum, cha.

Aaaaanyway, if you haven't stopped reading on account of my poor sense of humour, let's take a moment to acknowledge the tiniest bag known to man, shall we? 3 Reasons to Use EOS Lip Balm This Summer

Summer is *finally* on the horizon, and with that comes glowing skin, previously-warm beverages served cold (here's looking at you, soy latte) and, you know, general merriment. What also comes with the territory, however, is the potential for sun damage, and although most people are pretty well versed in SPF by now (we're talking face, body and ears, baby!), what oftentimes gets forgotten are lips. They're delicate, prone to both chapping and burning alike (party), and, frankly, they're just too important not to protect. So if you're looking for a great, and also affordable, option to shield your lips from the sun this summer, look no further than EOS. I've spoken about the brand several times in the past, but that's because good things bare repeating. But if you need further convincing, here are three reasons to use EOS this summer.

Try This For Affordable, Cruelty-Free Makeup

Just a quick PSA to say that if you haven't tried Colour Pop Cosmetics yet, you're seriously missing out because a) the formulations and colours are spot on, b) they're cruelty-free and c) they're hella affordable. My current addictions include their Velvet Blur lipstick in "Hey Mr. DJ" and the Gimme More Pressed Powder Highlighter palette, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. And while I wouldn't so much recommend their brushes, everything else I've tried from the brand gets an A++. Happy shopping! xx

Trend Watch: Long Shorts For Spring/Summer

If bicycle shorts are still enjoying the resurgence they received last summer (that's right friends, we're stuck with the trend for at least one more season— although who am I kidding, I love it), then the newest spring/summer trend hitting the scene is the long, denim short (or bermuda shorts). Love 'em or hate 'em, this is the reality we are currently living in. If you fall under the latter category, however, consider this: you only need to shave half as much leg when wearing them (think of all the time you'll save!), and you'll never, ever need to worry about exposing anything you'd rather remain hidden from plain sight... bending over during the warmer months never felt so freeing.

Not convinced yet? Let's discuss the styling options. You can go all crop-top-docs-and-a-preppy-blazer like I did to pretend you're some kind of 90s French girl (is it working?), keep it casual with a neon sweatshirt and sneakers (my next vision for these shorts) or dress them up with heels, a chain belt and a satin top for a night out. 6 Things Millennials Can Do to Maintain Their Youth

Worried about the things you're doing today taking a toll on your face 10, 15 or even 20 years down the line? Damn girl, I'm with ya. Any time I fall short on my daily water quota, or realize that I've spent the past seven hours squishing my cheek aggressively against my pillow, I lament over the damage future Vickie will be cursing me for each and every time she looks in the mirror. Neurotic, sure, but a preventative lifestyle is the lifestyle for me. So whether you're a full-on spazz like I am or just mindful of treating your body well to prolong the aging process, today's post is definitely for you. I'm joined once again by American plastic surgeon Dr. Manish Shah— if you missed Six Tips From a Plastic Surgeon to Maximize Beauty Sleep, you're going to want to read that immediately— to share his top tips with millennials for maintaining their youthful splendor... here goes.

1. USE SUNBLOCK DAILY

"The best way to make sure your face is protected from the sun is to use a daily moisturizer with an SPF of no less than 30," Shah says, adding that it's crucial to protect your neck and chest while you're at it. "The sun protection done daily in your 20's will pay off greatly in your 40's." Great options include IMAGE Skincare's Prevention+ SPF 32 (my to-go) and Kiehl's Super Fluid Daily UV Defence Sunscreen SPF 50+.

2. GET YOUR VITAMIN C

"Vitamin C is a huge collagen booster and it also reduces pores and brightens skin, and these are the exact things women in their late 30's and 40's complain about most," Shah reveals. Foods such as cantaloupe, mango, pineapples, oranges, grapefruits and berries are all packed with this antioxidant which, when eaten regularly, does wonders to sustain a youthful glow. And if you're looking to add a supplement to your diet as well, I've really enjoyed HUM Nutrition's Glow Sweet Glow (but I'm no doctor, so clear it with your physician first, please and thank you).

3. REPLACE FAST FOOD WITH FISH

Those late night, post-partying burger and pizza indulgences may be hard to avoid at times, and maybe your metabolism can even handle it (lucky bisssh), but wherever possible, try to offset any weekend indulgences by eating fish during the week. "Fish oil has fatty acids that can erase early wrinkles," Shah says. "It prevents inflammation which can only make wrinkles more noticeable and deeper over time. Many millennials who are picky eaters and avoid seafood can get Omega-3s via supplements, but getting it directly from eating fish is best."

4. IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY, QUIT SMOKING— IMMEDIATELY

Nothing will age you faster than smoking will— period. But the good news? The inverse is true, too according to Dr. Shah. "It is possible for a 25-year-old to look up to eight and a half years younger after just three months of quitting smoking. This number increases after age 30," he says. "Women over age 40 who don't smoke typically look up to a decade younger than their counterparts who still smoke." There are countless reasons to quit smoking, but linking it to vanity can be a pretty powerful motivator in and of itself, ammiright??

5. CUT THE SUGAR, SWEET LIPS

This one's a real douzie, but experts tell us that we really should start getting mindful about our sugar intake in our 20's for myriad reasons. "Sugars and carbohydrates are a beauty killer because they are pro-inflammatory," Shah warns. "Pasta, ketchup, candy, ice cream and fruit juices are often dietary staples for those under 30. Any inflammation in the body will show up on the face in the form of adult acne, sagging and wrinkling, not to mention sallow skin tone." Well, shit— I have work to do.

6. INCORPORATE FACIALS + PEELS

While many millennials are starting off with "Baby Botox" to prevent wrinkles, Botox can be a gateway treatment towards lip injections and facial fillers that often have a reverse effect, making younger women appear older. As an alternative, "lasers and peels have come very far and offer an excellent solution for sun damage, skin texture, pores, acne scarring and cell turnover to stimulate collagen growth," Shah advises.

Bottom line? Develop solid habits for taking care of yourself both inside and out, and by default, you will create a lifestyle of longevity and youthfulness. Until next time! xx

My 3 Favourite Trends for Spring

Spring is always such a fun time of year sartorially speaking, because after many long, cold months, its breezy fabrics and soft colour palette are like a much-needed breath of fresh air. There are so many trends I'm exited about wearing this season, but in the interest of brevity, here are three of my favourites from a recent collaboration I did with Hudson's Bay... Happy shopping!

1. YELLOW

Oddly enough, yellow has never been a colour I've gravitated towards before, but for some reason I'm all about that buttercup life right now. This blouse is from Topshop and has proven to be the perfect spring addition to my wardrobe— the material is light yet it has long sleeves for that in-between weather, and as previously mentioned, the colour is on point. Obsessed.

2. ANIMAL PRINTS

3. JUMPSUITS

Last but certainly not least, one of the season's biggest trends is hands down the jumpsuit. It's chic, easy to throw-on-and-go (until you need to use the bathroom, that is) and oh-so hot right now. This pastel one is from Missguided and I love how it can be styled with sneakers for a daytime look, but can just as easily be transitioned into a more nighttime friendly getup with the addition of heels and some elevated accessories.

IMAGE Dropped Two New Face Masks & I'm Low-Key Obsessed

One of my favourite things to do is slather on a good face mask and zone out to some garbage (read: amazing) reality show on Hayu. Needless to say, it leaves me feeling better about myself on so many levels. All jokes aside, I love how there's a mask for any skin ailment (dryness? breakouts? dullness? no problem!), which is probably why masking was the most Googled beauty search of 2018. And because my holy grail skincare brand, IMAGE, is clearly the smartest ever, they've given the people more of what they want via two new mask releases that are quite literally blowing my mind. Let's discuss.

The brand's hydrogel sheet masks are like no other, and they've been rebranded into the sexy packaging you see above, but the new superstars on the IMAGE Skincare roster are the I MASK Firming Transformation Mask and the I MASK Purifying Probiotic Mask. Mouthfuls to be sure, but honest-to-God complexion game-changers. The Firming Transformation Mask is a fun metallic blue colour that's v Instagramable, but more importantly, it delivers deep hydration (that you, hyaluronic acid) while leaving skin feeling firmer and more plump. It helps skin resist stressors that cause premature aging, and as a total bonus, it's formulated with jojoba beads to gently exfoliate while you rinse it off. Talk about multi-tasking. I've been using this one weekly and my skin looks so much better as a result.

The Purifying Probiotic Mask, on the other hand, is perfect for keeping breakouts and temperamental skin at bay. It's enriched with superfood ingredients and, as the name would suggest, probiotics to balance the skin's natural flora and help it to resist dehydration, while Brazilian green clay and activated charcoal work to refine skin and remove impurities. I've been using this one during my time of the month (aka- when my skin throws a hissy fit) and I love the results. Prior to this one Glamglow's Supermud Activated Charcoal Treatment Mask was my go-to for combatting hormonal breakouts, but this mask is definitely giving that one a run for its money. Bless.

Not a new product by any means, but while we're talking about superstar masks, an honourable mention to Image's The Max Stem Cell Masque is definitely in order. It's a game-changer for dull skin, and I'm big-time addicted to it. So much so that I now want to try more stem cell products. Accessories make my world go round, especially when they're gold, flashy and totally unnecessary. Case in point: my new metallic bag, chain belt, and necklace party. What can I say, I'm a sucker for anything shiny and eye catching, much like a magpie. Sorry, not sorry.

While I have you here in the trawls of superficiality, can we take a moment to discuss those hideously adorable sandals on my paper-white feet? They were a Goodwill find last summer and I'm majorly smitten with them, despite the odd mystery-stain and not-entirely flattering shape. Still, every time I see them I give myself a mental high-five for finding them, especially now that places like Zara have recreated them for like a bajillion times more than what I spent (5 bucks, in case you were wondering). Man I love thrifting.

Six Tips From a Plastic Surgeon to Maximize Beauty Sleep

Alright friends, listen up— when it comes to your beauty routine, very few things are free; that is, except for sleep. It costs nothing and may be the closest thing we have to a legitimate fountain of youth, yet most of us aren't getting nearly enough (*cough cough* me). In fact, a 2017 study found that only two days of sleep restriction negatively affected a participant's perceived attractiveness and overall health, amongst other detriments. Dr. Shah, an American, Board-Certified plastic surgeon explains that "Your body repairs itself and recovers while you sleep, and that results in a long list of benefits for anti-aging and appearance." And since most experts agree that seven to nine hours per night is ideal, I think it's time we all started prioritizing getting some shut eye. That said, here are six expert tips for maximizing your beauty sleep... nightie night!

1. SLEEP ON YOUR BACK

"Sleeping on your stomach or on of your sides means there is constant pressure on your face," Shah says. "Over time, this action will produce unwanted sleep lines." Yuck. The solution? You guessed it, sleeping on your back. This may feel uncomfortable at first, and although you certainly can't control your involuntary sleep movements, you can practice and get used to sleeping on your back over time... Worth it.

2. USE AN OVERNIGHT PRODUCT (& ALWAYS HAVE WATER BY YOUR BEDSIDE)

Washing your face can dry it out, as can the act of sleeping itself, especially if you snooze in a low-humidity environment (guilty). While staying hydrated by drinking water can help to some extent— especially when you first wake-up in the morning— what your skin really needs while it's repairing itself at night is good skincare. For a more supercharged product, try an overnight mask such as Youth To The People's Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask, Glow Recipe's Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask, or my personal favourite, Image Skincare's Ageless Total Overnight Retinol Mask. All are great options for waking up looking glowing and refreshed, but go for whatever product you prefer. Another brand of products/anti-aging supplements I'm curious about exploring is Jeunesse, so if you have any recommendations from their product roster, I'm all ears!

3. INVEST IN A SILK PILLOWCASE

While facial creasing has a lot to do with sleep positioning (see tip No. 1), swapping your cotton pillowcase in favour of a silk one can go a long way towards reducing unnecessary lines. "There are numerous benefits of silk for good sleep," Shah says. "The smooth texture of silk is gentler than cotton and may help prevent sleep wrinkles, as well as reduce skin irritation. Its tightly-woven fibres also don't draw out moisture and natural oils as cotton does, leaving your skin better hydrated." As if we needed another reason to justify our Slip pillowcase addictions, ammiright?

4. AVOID SALT & ALCOHOL BEFORE BED

If you're craving a midnight snack or drink, be mindful. While some foods— like crackers or an apple— can actually help you sleep, many others disrupt your rest and wreak havoc on your appearance. I'm looking at you, salt and alcohol. These items are super dehydrating, so to compensate, your poor body will start collecting natural fluids around the eyes (amongst other places), leading to that dreaded, puffy-eyed look. Fun fact: dehydration is also linked to dark undereye circles, so do yourself a favour and stay hydrated amigos.

5. GIRL, WASH YOUR FACE

I'm not referring to a figurative, Rachel Hollis type of face washing; I mean literally, wash your damn face before bed. "No matter how tired you are, going to bed with your makeup on will only [make things] worse the morning after," Shah says, noting fun, sleeping-in-makeup side effects such as clogged pores, irritated eyes, and oily-residue accumulation. But if you're just too tired (or you know, drunk) to make it to the sink, Shah recommends keeping some good-quality cleansing wipes by your bedside at the very least. "It's not ideal to rely on cloths every night in place of a deeper clean, but on late nights they're skin saviours," he says. No excuses, ladies.

6. KEEP TEMPERATURES LOW

At night, your body's natural temperature declines, but keeping the temperature in your bedroom intentionally low is actually good for your metabolism and blood flow. "This is important because improving your blood flow helps oxygenate your skin, keeping it plump and even-toned for the day ahead," Shah explains. "Maintaining a cool temperature in your bedroom will also help reduce redness in your skin." And if you're wondering just how low you should go, the National Sleep Foundation recommends keeping your bedroom between 15 and 19 degrees Celsius for an optimal night's sleep. #TheMoreYouKnow

Forever a Neutral: Animal Prints

I, much like most other fashion-focused females (or males!), am quite taken by animal prints these days. Regardless of the season or item of clothing they happen to be on, they just work. Ergo, they are a forever-neutral. This Majorelle blouse is my latest cheetah-print obsession, and it's proved to be the perfect way to dress up jeans (complete with some snazzy white booties, thank you very much), but pairs equally well with trousers and skirts for a more done-up vibe. In a word— versatile.

The Only Product You Need To Prep For Sandal Season

If the thought of open-toe shoes is giving you low-key anxiety, you're not alone— after all, it's been a long, long winter. But the good news is I've found a new product that's basically a pedicure in a bottle; just add nail polish and you'll be hot to trot. Read on for an amazing organic, cruelty-free option that you won't want to stop applying... spoiler, it smells unreal.

I'm talking of course about the aptly-named Smooth Feet, the debut product from LA-based Legendary Apothecary. This green company not only uses ingredients, elements and packaging exclusively sourced in the United States, but it's also entirely organic, vegan, cruelty-free and built around a strong belief in the power of plant-based ingredients. "When we founded Legendary Apothecary, we had one goal in mind. We wanted to build a brand that treated everyone and everything it touched with kindness," co-founder Sara Saidy affirms. "We have a deep belief in the power of plant-based ingredients to create skincare products that are pure, organic and cruelty-free."

Whenever I come across a product that claims to single-handedly take care of my dry, cracked heels (TMI?), I'm always sceptical. Especially— and I'm ashamed to say this— when said proclamation comes from an all-natural brand. For some reason my brain is wired to think I need hardcore chemicals to get that job done, so I'll be the first to admit that my expectations weren't particularly high when I first tried Smooth Feet. But when I woke up the next day, I was shocked to see that my feet looked smooth, hydrated and not those of a 85-year-old woman's. Now I'm hopelessly addicted to the product, so naturally I wanted to share it with you guys as well... it's honestly too good not to! Even Vogue Magazine is a fan, so you know it's the real deal.

Key ingredients include vegetable glycerin, pure lavender oil and sugar cane alcohol, a cocktail of natural components that sink deep into the skin while preventing any water evaporation from the surface. This product retails for $35, and in my humble opinion, it's worth every penny. xx

Outfit Of The Day: Vol. 4

There's just something about baby pink that screams "Hey bitch, it's Spring!" I'm thinking that's what initially attracted me to these amazing wide-leg pants from Lovers + Friends, because after months of endless jeans and black skinnies, these are like a breath of fresh air for the ol' closet. Plus something about the cut reminds me of high school Vickie— which is both a glorious and oh-so frightening thing— so there's a certain nostalgic pull for me with these as well. I love how well they pair with my also v. nostalgic angel tee (on super-sale now!), as well as my Fila Disruptors for the ultimate everyday look... Takeaway: comfort is key, friends.

Another piece that I'm low key obsessed with these days is my new Crossbody.dk Carrie bag, which has all the LV vibes for a fraction of the price. It adds just the right amount of bling to any look, and sorry not sorry, you can expect to be seeing A LOT of it moving forward. I just. can't. stop. wearing. it. You've been forewarned.

Transitional Dressing + Current Favourite Accessories

March is always such a bizarro time in terms of weather; depending on where you live, you may have an influx of morale-raising warmth, only to have it taken away as quickly as it came. This is my current reality, and as such, layers have become my constant companion. What you probably can't make out from these photos is a leather jacket and t-shirt hiding under my giant yeti coat, which proved to be the perfect addition to an otherwise seasonally-appropriate getup after a sudden Mother Nature mood swing. Moral of the story? Just like those perky little girl scouts, when it comes to leaving the house in March, always be prepared, friends.

Regardless of whatever layers I may or may not be donning that particular day— can we all just move to the west coast already?— you can rest assured that they'll be paired with my trusty Dr. Martens Jadon boots. They literally go with everything, they're super comfy (now that I've broken them in) and they keep me warm when temperatures fluctuate. If you're on the fence about grabbing a pair, I 100% recommend them, and even have my eye on the white version as well. You know, options and whatnot.

Another piece I've been wearing ad nauseum as of late is my trusty Louis Vuitton Palm Springs backpack, similarly because it goes with everything, but also because it frees up my hands and makes my heart happy every time I look down at it. Getting this piece was a long time coming, and in the spirit of surrounding yourself with people and things that make you happy, well, little Louis definitely falls into that category. The Best of Revolve Beauty

Beauty products are one of my favourite things to talk about, experiment with, and let's be real— hoard. So you can imagine my delight when REVOLVE started carrying beauty because a) they're the ultimate in cool; and b) I knew they would introduce me to products I otherwise may never have heard of. After being lucky enough to try an assortment of their goodies, I wanted to report my favourites back to you guys— some of which I'm sure you already know and similarly love, and other that are hopefully new and enticing to you. Here we go:

NUDESTIX

I've known and loved this brand for several years now— as I'm sure you guys do, too— but somehow I forgot all about them until their Magnetic Luminous Eye Color in "Spirit" came into my lift. This is the perfect everyday shade that you can build up for a more dramatic look come nighttime, and I totally forgot how amazing and long-lasting the formula is. Needless to say, this one has been on my eyelids on-repeat as of late.

WANDER BEAUTY

I'm a total sheet and eye mask junkie, yet I somehow had never tried the Baggage Claim Gold Eye Masks from Wander Beauty before... now that I have, let me tell you— I'm OBSESSED. They just hydrate like no undereye mask I've tried before, plus they leave my skin looking smoother and brighter after every use. Must be all the hyaluronic acid and essential oils they're formulated with (daaaaamn). Looking forward to trying their new Rose Gold version next!

SUPERGOOP!

I'm probably suuuuper late to this party, but I had never heard of the Supergoop! Invincible Setting Powder SPF 45 before, which means I've been seriously missing out. This 100% mineral, translucent powder acts to not only set your makeup and reduce shine, but it's everything you need in terms of broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection to boot. And as a total bonus, it helps minimize the appearance of pores and gives skin a matte, soft-focus finish. In a word, stunning.

LIME CRIME

You already know I'm a big fan of this cruelty-free brand (in case you missed that post, read Five Cruelty-Free and Vegan Beauty Brands To Try Now), but I'm seriously smitten with their Diamond Crusher Lip Topper. Reason being, it's like a blast from my 90's pre-teen past. You can add this glittery, metallic enhancer to your lipstick for a fun finish, or even on top of your eyeshadow for all the nostalgic vibes. I'm telling ya, it's like a party in a tube.

HUM NUTRITION

I had heard about the Glow Sweet Glow gummy vitamins before, but I had never tried them; and although I can't definitively say that they're making a difference to my complexion, I can say that my skin is looking a lot more hydrated these days. Again, this could be due to a variety of factors (I've been upping my hydration game both in terms of skincare and water intake lately), but I'm sure it's playing a role as well. Plus they're delicious and make me feel like I'm eating candy at breakfast, which is always a bonus. Read more about their ingredients and benefits here if you're interested.

NANNETTE de GASPE

I'm not generally a big cleansing cloth person, but then again, these aren't your average facial wipes. In fact, the Treating & Cleansing Cloths by Nannette de Gaspe are more like the Cadillac of wipes in my humble opinion (or you know, whatever luxury vehicle impresses you— I don't speak car). I like these because they feel like skincare more than just a makeup remover; after all, they're formulated with AHA to exfoliate the skin, as well as a host of other fancy schmansy ingredients to nourish and plump things up. So if you're like me and wrote off wipes a long time ago, these ones may just change your mind. xx

Beads + Feathers (Or What I Wore To Grab Coffee)

If it's all in the accessories, then I would like to draw your attention to what's happening here— yes, those are feather heels on my feet, and possibly the girliest beaded handbag known to man (strewn across an equally girlie pink couch, no less). What can I say, I take my coffee-date attire v. seriously. These Public Desire "Bunny" heels remind me so much of the heels Carrie bought to seduce Burger in season six of SATC, crossed with a little Peg Bundy for good measure. Now I don't even know if Peg ever wore feathery sandals, but I just feel like she would have appreciated them at the very least. For a lack of a better term, birds of a feather, ya know?

My 5 Most-Used Lip Balms

If ever there were a time to load up on lip balm, winter would be it— just yesterday, I was lamenting over the fact that my bottom lip cracked and peeled in the most painful way possible. The culprit? Not enough lip balm, and waaaay too many drying lipsticks. I mean let's be real, I'll do almost anything to get that Instagram shot, but I draw the line at slowly destroying my lips... Ya feel? So to avoid those aforementioned, pesky cracked lips, and to help anyone out there who may be looking for a new balm to try, here's a quick roundup of some of my go-to lip products. Happy slathering.

MY 5 MOST-USED LIP BALMS

GLOSSIER BALM DOT COM

This one is nothing if not a cult favourite, and let's be real, we've all tried it. But it's just too good not to include. I've used it for years and still love it as much as I did the first time I slid it across my lips— after all, things don't get cult status for nothing. The beauty of this product is that it's as versatile as it is effective; as a universal skin salve, you can use it to tackle cuticles, dry skin, and so on and so forth.

EOS LIP BALM

I have one of these in my office, another one by my bedside, and at least ten stashed in various purses. The ultimate throw-on-and-go balm, this one has been a go-to of mine for as long as I can remember (as well as a must-apply before lipstick). My personal favourite is the Strawberry flavour, but any of these organic, 100% natural lippies will do. Oh, and they're under five bucks— gotta love smooth lips on a budget!

RODIAL ROSE GOLD LIP BALM

I consider this one more of an anti-aging treatment; it nourishes and revitalizes the lips by promoting collagen production, improving firmness and even boosting radiance... and all with a soft wash of colour. The smell isn't exactly my favourite, but it's a small price to pay for healthy-looking lips.

BY TERRY BAUME DE ROSE

I love this one because it makes me feel super fancy every time I put it on. And that's for good reason— this shizz is expensive. I treated myself to it a couple years back and fell in love, so I wanted to mention it but with an asterisk; any one of these other balms would work just as well, so before you go and get all spendy, just be forewarned. But if you are down, just know that you're in for a major lip treat if you do make the investment. This one plumps and leaves lips (and cuticles) looking more hydrated, and it smells absolutely incredible. No wonder it's a celeb favourite.

IT COSMETICS ROSE HYDRATING COLOR AWAKENING LIP TREATMENT

I like this one because it makes my lips feels super soft, but it also gives a nice flush of colour, so it's great for both makeup and non-makeup days. It's packed with essential oils and butters, hyaluronic filling spheres and antioxidants, and uses something called Vitality Lip Flush Technology that reacts with the warmth of your lips to create the perfect pop of colour... obsessed.

One of my greatest joys in life— and I write this sincerely— is trying new skincare. There's just something about coming across a new product that promises all kinds of results, then practically racing home to slather it all over your clean, hopeful face. It's akin to how I used to feel on Christmas morning as a child, only waaaaaay more satisfying. Now I know some of you are probably reading this thinking "Bisssh is cray," but for the rest of you that get it, all I can say is if you know, you know. The addiction is real friends, so please allow me to further fuel yours by talking about my current skincare crush— Rodial's many-splendored Snake collection.

I've been a pretty big fan of Rodial for years now (my only beef with the brand is that they're not cruelty-free), so when I can across this line, I honestly couldn't wait to try it. Those who know me well know that I'm a pretty hardcore Image Skincare devotee, so for me to incorporate something new like this into my routine is a pretty big deal. Luckily these products proved to be every bit as awesome as I had anticipated, so without further ado, here's a rundown of what I've been loving from the range.

SNAKE BOOSTER OIL

Honestly one of the best oils I've ever tried, this one's so hydrating that my skin didn't know what hit it. I have a tendency of drying up like a raisin this time of year, but using the booster oil really helped keep my skin flakage to a minimum. It also works to firm and tighten the skin using something called a Syn®-Ake dipeptide, which mimics the effects of a viper's venim (thus the name) to mildly freeze the skin and reduce expression line contractions... so it's basically botox in a bottle.

SNAKE EYE CREAM O2

This one cools and de-puffs, and is packed with Vitamin C to brighten the appearance of under eye circles, so it's a literal godsend in the morning. But the real kicker here is that it's formulated with a double shot of the aforementioned Syn®-Ake dipeptide, so it really tightens and smoothes out any expression lines you may have. My mom is quite literally obsessed with the Snake Eye Cream too, so that just goes to show how this one is a great option for younger and more mature skin types alike.

SNAKE MOISTURIZER O2

Another amazing product if you're looking to firm up your skin, this oxygen moisturizer a) combats dullness, b) nourishes the skin, c) increases circulation, and d) protects it from UV damage (it's an SPF 15), all in addition to tightening the appearance of your skin. Like, need I say more?
