Can you predict Forex prices in advance after all human nature is constant and repeats itself? Human nature does but if you predict you will lose - if you follow the method enclosed though you can win...

You often see vendors selling systems that say they can predict with 90% accuracy, pinpoint market tops and bottoms in advance etc but they always present a simulated track record backwards to prove the point, knowing the closing prices.

They bend the rules of the system to make a profit on the data segment and in real time of course the exact same price history never unfolds and the system breaks causing a loss. People have seen the appliance of complicated mathematics enrich our life in other areas and assume it works in forex markets.

There is however a problem with forex markets and it's obvious - they do not move to a set theory that conforms to mathematics, so complex equations don't work.

This fact proves the point:

Proof Complicated Theories Don't Work

30 years ago 95% of traders lost and the same ratio lose today. This is despite all the advances we have seen in computer forecasting, computer power and new theories in the period - they haven't helped!

An Odds Based Market

In forex markets you have a market that moves on probabilities NOT certainties and while you can win, you need to forget complicated theories and keep it simple and see Forex trading as an odds game.

It's a fact that simple theories are more robust in terms of turning forex price movement into profit as there are fewer variables to break in the brutal ever changing world of forex trading.

When trading you have to accept that you are going to lose at times but if you continue to trade high odds set ups you will have more winners than losers and if you run your profits and cut your losses you will win overtime.

Why Successful Forex Trading is similar to Poker

The Successful poker player knows he wont win every hand but that doesn't bother him, as he folds or passes by low odds hands or hands that go against him and hits the high odds hands. Poker is a game of probabilities just like forex and if you think like the successful poker players you can win.

Forex trading is still a combination of a simple forex trading system applied with discipline to keep losses small and run profitable high odds trades.

Many people think that science and complication lead to success in all areas of life in some yes - in forex no. So keep it simple, play the odds, trade with discipline and you can enjoy currency trading success

Investors should take advantage of the free internet forex training while getting started. Don't be like many new forex traders who sometimes ignore this training and trade to soon in the Forex market. A person needs proper education and training. These new traders lower their chances of trading success greatly. A good training will be beneficial to those interested in making money the currency market. They should be no excuses to learn the proper way to forex trade.

What can you do to assure yourself that you have the best forex money manager or trade plan? There are a great number of brokers and trading firms to choose from, all you have to do is select the one that best fits your style. If you want to stick to small-scale trades and you can manage the accounts yourself, a demo or mini account is probably best. If you are doing large-scale transactions, either with or without a firm, you may need a full account or even a managed account in order to correctly and smoothly reach your goals. Make sure you know your manager and his policies to ensure that you are getting the best forex traders on your side.

Being successful in the global economy is not necessarily that easy, but it can certainly be easier when you make sure you are working with the best. The best forex managers out there know (and can teach you) exactly how the market will react to certain economic events, which currencies to buy and when to buy them, and how much of a profit margin you can expect to receive for various kinds of currencies.

There are several things you want to look for to make sure you are employing the best forex traders available, assuming you are going for a managed account, a diverse portfolio, market experience (preferably with a firm or a solid amount of successful trades), consistent returns, and fair rates are all important qualities. When you are looking for the services of a trader, make sure you emphasize the importance of these characteristics in your search, and you will be sure to get the most bang for your buck. Success is something that comes by work but it does happen with the best forex knowledge. Have a good foundation to start with when trading in the forex market.

We start off in Forex learning the easiest parts, things like chart reading and interpretation of data. We waste all that time and more trying to get the entry and exit correct, and it never crosses our mind that the most important aspect is ignored. Can be said to take place solely in your mind and without the right mind set, you have lost even before you began! Most new traders ignore the fact that training your mind and your heart is THE most important aspect of trading. That’s why close to 95% of new traders rarely see their 9th month, most traders would have been wiped out by the 6th month or even earlier. To survive and be profitable, you have to begin by changing your mindset and mental attitude. You cease to be a player instead you become a spectator in the market. You distance yourself away from your trades. To get a firm grasp on how the market works would take a person of average intelligence no more than 3 months. But as you and I know, it is not knowledge of the markets and how they function that will make you money. Instead it is the process and the decisions that arise from the process that affects our bottom line as traders. We are all different and for some, making a firm decision and staying by it is simple, for others it might not be the case. For example you have a good edge (trading plan) and that edge gives to you close to a 70% probability on normal market situations. You enter into a trade and you follow your rules of the trade (this we term as process). Now the trade turns against you and you lost your trade. The next trade that you enter, do you increase your stakes, do you become uncertain of your trading plan, or do you proceed as normal? While we discuss this on paper, it seems easy and even a little simplistic. When you are in the midst of trading, these simplistic principles become harshly complex. This is especially so as it is YOUR hard earned money and it becomes doubly painful to make a concrete decision. This decision making process is what most new traders find difficult to overcome and to master. There is no easy way around it and we all know that as humans we would go to extreme lengths to avoid pain, than to gain pleasure. There are of course means and ways to overcome this problem. In fact many traders that succeed do suggest this method as well. 1. Buy a note book 2. Take down all aspects of the trade, including your state of mind and your emotions 3. Take all trades as they come 4. Keep the journal for a week, and then review 5. Always write, before, during and after the trade. Now keep this journal serves a two fold purpose. The first being discipline and the second reflection. Discipline can be built by habit, that’s a piece of good news for traders who think they might have an issue with discipline. Like how you brush your teeth every morning, the same discipline can be applied to your journal. If you keep doing something for 21 days everyday , it becomes habit and once you manage to create this habit you can use your newly gain discipline and apply it to trading. Reflection is the second purpose that this journal will serve. When you know yourself and you know your emotions, you can better control them and better harness that energy. Trading can be emotionally tiring and draining. With your daily note keeping and weekly reflection you will be able to learn about your own psychology and that will help in your decision making process. At the very least it will highlight to you when you are in the midst of making a bad decision brought about by errant emotions!

Interbank Forex and the US Bailout Agreement

Key bank to bank long term lending rates in Europe jumped to their highest since 1995 from 5.142 to 5.237 a move sure to reverberate through Interbank Forex markets. The six month rate also jumped to 5.315 from a former rate of 5.290. European rates are fixed by the European Central Bank. (Euribor) It is becoming painfully obvious that the financial crisis is not limited to the US.

The US financial crisis has become contagious, spreading to European banks and financial institutions and Interbank Forex markets worldwide. In the UK mortgage giant Bradford and Bingley had to be rescued by the government. Shares of French bank Dexia tumbled more than 20% because of a newspaper report that the bank may launch an emergency capital increase. On Sunday the governments of Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands announced an 11.2 Euro bailout of one of Europe's largest banks.

Markets, including the Interbank Forex, have been in a state of disarray with global money markets waiting for the details of the proposed US bailout. The US congress is set to vote on the compromise bailout package on Monday, September 29th. After almost a week of political haggling Democrats and Republicans have reached an agreement. Highlights of the bailout plan include;

* The government would have broad powers to buy billions in mortgage related assets.

* The plan lets congress block half the money. The government can access 250 billion immediately, 100 billion more if the president certified it was necessary, and 350 billion more with a separate certification.

* Executives of companies who benefit from the bailout will see limited compensation.

* The plan requires the government to try to renegotiate bad mortgages with the intention of lowering monthly payments.

* The government would receive stock warrants in return for assistance, giving American taxpayers the opportunity to share in future profits.

* After five years the government would submit a plan to congress on how to recover any losses from companies receiving assistance.

Financial analysts are hoping that the passage of the US bailout plan will bring a semblance of stability to global markets. With the crisis spreading well beyond the borders of the United States passage of the compromise bailout plan is seen by many as a way to stem the tide of bank failures in Europe. Credit markets and interbank lending have all been virtually frozen by the US financial crisis and it is hoped that the infusion of billions of dollars will cause credit to flow freely again.

Many traders are right about market direction but simply put their stops in the wrong place and clipped out the trade and then watch as it goes onto make thousands of dollars and their not in! Placing stops is as important as picking trade direction in terms of making Profits.

Risk and Trading.

Most traders try so hard to restrict risk they actually create it. A great example of this is forex day trading where you have tight stops by predicting the daily range.

Te problem is all movements within a day are random and the apparent small risk is a guaranteed lose as volatility is random and takes them out.

There is a big industry in telling you that forex can be traded safely – Rubbish! It’s risky and if you don’t like taking calculated risks put your money in a high interest account.

To make big returns, you have to take risk that’s simply the reality of trading.

Placing Stops

Place stops behind heavy valid resistance or support – that means if they trade recoils back you may be out but your stop is in a logical area. Another point to keep in mind is to use a stop close ( I use New York stock exchange times ) this means that you have more chance of winning it may look more risky but longer term its not.

How often do you see stops picked off in the day session for the market to settle back the way you thought? It happens often so don’t do what the majority do run a stop close if you can keep an eye on the market.

Moving stops

Beware of moving stops to closely – if you try and lock into quickly you will get taken out by normal volatility. Hold your stop back and make sure you have the discipline to take dips in open equity and keep your eye on the bigger prize. Accept that you’re never going to sell the top and buy the bottom, but if you get 70% of the big trends you will pile up profits.

Be selective

Only trade those trades that have high odds chance of winning forget trading frequently you don’t get paid for that you get paid for being RIGHT and that’s all.

If you are selective you can risk more on these trades and give yourself a bigger chance of winning. Never fall for the risk reward of trade is your profit target, your stop – its NOT.

This is just your view and bears no relation to the trade’s outcome.

Don’t Diversify

If you have a big account fair enough but if you have a small account diversification simply dilutes your profit potential and ensures you make mediocre gains. On a small account load the trade and risk as much as you can.

Be realistic

There is a big difference between taking calculated risks and being rash. Do not over leverage your trades. Keep in mind the best traders in the world make 100% and if you made that to then you would compound a lot of money over time. Don’t go for broke and get blown out.

Money management and stop loss placement is all about trading the high odds trades at the right time, placing stops and trailing them logically not to get taken out by volatility and loading the trades with the best potential.

If you do the above you will have a simple way of taking calculated risks and getting handsome returns and that’s what Forex trading is all about.

The Bush Bailout Plan and the Forex Market

On Wednesday night the President of the United States, George W. Bush, addressed the nation concerning the proposed bailout of United States banks and tottering financial institutions. Reactions to the proposed bailouts were mixed and even some Republicans criticized the administration's proposals. President Bush urged for the immediate passage of the bailout plan stating that "We're in the midst of a serious financial crisis, and the federal government is responding with decisive actions." Bush also stated that failure to pass the bailout plan could lead to a "long and painful recession."

The current United States financial crisis has affected stock markets, commodities, and Forex markets worldwide. Confidence in the United States dollar is waning with many people worried that the bailout policies proposed could lead to a devaluation of the United States dollar. The financial crisis could not be more ill timed with the United States suffering a massive debt from the combination of the War in Iraq, rising oil prices, and massive infrastructure damage from recent hurricanes. The average American is already struggling financially and this financial crisis is only making things worse.

The Bush plan calls for the government to buy 700 billion dollars worth of troubled assets. These assets consist mostly of mortgage backed securities whose values have declined swiftly when the housing market imploded. Initially the White House had taken a hard line concerning the bailout plan but has indicated a willingness to compromise in order to ensure a speedy passage of the bailout plan.

The Bush administration compromised with Democrats who demanded that the pay of CEOs of troubled firms be limited. Addressing such concerns Bush stated that the financial rescue "should make certain that failed executives do not receive a windfall from your tax dollars." Bush also invited both presidential candidates and key congressional leaders to the White House to work out a compromise on the bailout. Bush also warned that failure to pass the plan would result in dire economic consequences such as disappearing retirement savings, rising foreclosures, loss of jobs and closing of businesses.

One can only hope that politicians, for once, can put partisan politics aside and work together on a plan that would benefit both business and the average American worker. With the United States dollar regarded as unstable in some Forex Markets, failure to act could result in a disaster and the voters are not likely to forget such a financial disaster come election time.
