How To Spring Clean, And Make Some Extra Cash.

I realized while moving that I have way too much stuff. I am in no means a hoarder, but having totes of CD's and DVD's that I don't watch. I don't listen to anymore. Does however say otherwise. They went from hidden on bottom shelves in an unused bedroom so my 2 year old wouldn't ruin them. To just thrown into totes since everything now a days can be bought electronically online, and played on Mp3 players, and saved to hard drives.

I don't want to be labeled a hoarder. The more I think about it. The more I realize that I don't need these items. They are worth money still, and I am a Sci-fi, Horror film avid watcher. I do have a lot more than just that, and now my life has ventured into the kid genre of TV. I am experiencing how fast a toddler grows out of certain shows, and wants to watch something else. Yes, even Children's Games, DVDs and CD's are worth money, and someone out there has a kid that would love to have these items too.

Now I am almost done unpacking, minus the spare bedroom that has the totes of things that really don't matter. The more I look at the totes in that room, the more I realized it was time to part with some of them. What a better time to start to Spring Clean then now, and make extra money by selling things I don't even use anymore.

Whatever money I make from selling my CD's, DVD's, and Games I am going to save for my son's birthday in December, and for Christmas Gifts. I found a great site called MusicMagPie.com, that you can download the app, and scan the bar code on the DVD, CD, and Game itself to see what it is worth. There are no auctions, or sellers fee's. I know we all have things we've bought, watched a lot, or was giving to us as gifts that are just wasting space, and becoming overly heavy boxes. Believe me, those totes full of the DVD's were extremely heavy!! This app has made it easier, and not overwhelming when selling the CD's, DVD's, and Video Games.

I will not be a hoarder! It's time to Spring Clean, and to make some extra cash by selling those CD's, DVD's, and Video Games online.

For fun, go count all the DVD's, CD's, and Video Games you don't even bother with anymore?? I'm guessing the average person probably has at least 50+ that are just collecting dust.

A decluttered space totally changed my mind set just by walking into the room now and seeing the open area with my plants.

Almost done moving!

Sorry I haven't been around, but the good news is.. I am almost done moving!! Tomorrow I get to clean, and hand the old apartment keys over.

I actually feel more rested, and at ease since moving. The old apartment I could hear the freeway, and see it from our corner apartments windows. The new townhouses views are of trees. I saw a squirrel, and a cardinal this morning. All the honeysuckles also put me into a better mood. Honeysuckles remind me of my Granny. My Granny lived next to "Honeysuckle Lane." It was by far the most beautiful, windy, back country road. The honeysuckle smell, and bushes were huge. I remember eating so many little sweet juices from it.

It's an even prettier view from the upstairs bedroom windows too. Trees in front, and behind of us. I feel like we live in the woods, but we are still in the city.

Sy is just hanging out. We've moved every year when the lease would be up at other apartments, mostly because our family grew, and we out grew the old place. Last apartment we had neighbors above us that would throw lit ciggs down onto my bottom patio. You know I had to declare war about that. For one it is a fire hazard, and secondly that is littering. I'm happy to be away from that apartment now.

By next week things should be calmed down (Now is the joys of unpacking.) I will show you all my pantries, and how I live on a budget. I want to get back to blogging, and hopefully make it a little more personal, and informational. Also, the fun reviews, and giveaways too.

Baby Buds Eco Friendly Toy Review!

Autumn loves her Baby Buds Toys so much. Her favorite is the Monkey blanket, it's also a hand puppet. It was kissing her sweet baby cheeks, and she would smile at it.

I also noticed how soft, and light Baby Buds baby toys are. That made me feel safe allowing her to play with them. The Owl Bowl rattles like bells, and has velkro that can be used to attach to things like strollers, musical mobiles, and car seat carriers. The owl rattler has little ball that rattle, its cute but she isn't old enough to hold it yet. The Monkey blanket is her favorite so far. She's old enough to pet the monkey, and have it kiss her chubby cheeks.

JENNIE-O Turkey Pastrami with Eggplant! So Delicious! Easy Recipes!

Switch To Turkey!

When you think of JENNIE-O Turkey what comes to come?? Do you think about Turkey Burgers? Turkey Ham? Pastrami? That is where my mind goes. I absolutely adore the JENNIE-O Turkey Store Website.

I have a hard time digesting red meat, so I went to turkey instead. My favorite is the JENNIE-O Turkey Pastrami. It comes in whole chunks, and you can cut into slices yourself.

This was an extremely easy meal. I just cut the turkey pastrami up, lightly fried (It's already seasoned, and covered in pepper.)

I also fried up some Eggplant in almond flour (2 tsp pepper, 2 tsp of garlic powder, 2 tsp of season all.) I then dip the sliced eggplant into egg whites (I like to add dried onions to the eggwhites.)

While frying, the oil should be HOT, I don't turn the oil down to medium-high til the eggplants already breaded and ready to go in.

Together, this meal, along with some wine was perfect. The Pastrami was moist, and seasoned perfectly. I just like to blacken a little in a cast iron frying pan, and make the outside crispy.

My Boxtera Monthly Subscription Box this month was cram packed with lots of health alternative snacks. There were brands I already buy, along with brands I had not heard of, but are some of my new favorites.

Like these Sriracha Chips!

I had never tried this brand before, and for just 100 calories it was the perfect snack. I'm also a very big fan of Sriracha sauce. Usually companies mess up, and make the Sriracha taste like Spicy BBQ, when Sriracha Hot Sauce just has a nice heat to it, and doesn't overpower the flavor of the food itself.

I really liked the Garlic & Vegan Cheese Kale Chips that came in my Boxtera Box. They were crunchy, perfectly seasoned, and my husband and I fought over these. I did not want to share.

The Baked SeaWeed was also a hit. This was my husbands favorite from out the box so far. We are snacking here and there, and have not tried something we did not like yet.

While my 2 year old favorite were the Dehydrated Apple Chips, and Caveman Cookies.

This month has been great, and very, very busy for me. I have been eating healthier still, and bringing back into my diet different things. I have been out of state visiting family. I still am not officially back yet, but I wanted to post some photos, and my update from my Nutrisystem Journey end of Month 2.

Wish You Were Here

I am down 23 Lbs! However this week I have not lost, or gained weight while on my vacation. I am extremely happy at the fact I did not gain, but maintained. I did eat fresh veggies, fruits, even went to a family reunion that had fresh steamed blue crabs, with a ton of old bay seasoning. I am a Marylander, through, and through living in the Midwest now. I ate my weight in crab meat, until I just couldn't pick anymore.

I liked the fact that I ate what everyone else was eating too. I didn't say "Oh, I can't eat this, I'm on a diet." I did however stay away from the Sodas.

Also while on the road I ate things like jerky, and pumpkin seeds.

Start off by eating a Salad, Stick to Veggies, Fresh Fruit, and healthy carbs. You don't have to go carb free. Also, you can have that baked chicken, bbq chicken, even steak, and other meats. Just try to eat the better cut, lighter meats.

I am back on my Nutrisystem plan, and no longer traveling, however I am in the process of moving, so that in it's own is very stressful as well. I am promising myself that no matter what happens, I will be happy with myself, and my progress so far.

Living with an ORIF, Weight Loss, and Exercise! Nutrisystem Week 8 Update.

I am on week 8 for Nurtisystem. In 8 weeks I have lost 23 pounds. Next week I will be doing my end of month 2 wrap up( I am being sponsored for 4 months, I need all the help, and support I can get!), along with measurements. Fun!! Haha. Anyways, Last time I measured my hips, I was down 4 INCHES!! I can tell I've lost a lot of weight in my thighs, and hips the most. Along with my stomach, when I'm not feeling bloated(weight loss is crazy, I will talk more about proper fibers, and proteins below.) My pants are all lose, and I even bought those new white capri's in the picture above in size 1x ( I was a 3X last year.)

If this is your first time reading my weight loss journey I wanted to share something personal with my followers. I separated my tibia from the tibia plateau in my left leg, and fractured down my tibia. I went from external metal hardware to an open reduction internal fixator that allows me to still walk on my own without assistance. My weight maintained while I was on crutches for 8 months with a non weight baring left leg only because I ate extremely unhealthy. Mostly chicken from out of a can, and the occasional green tea. Sometimes protein pre-made shakes. Whatever was easiest to make for myself. It wasn't until I went back to work, then stopped working to stay home with my son that I ballooned up, and gained over 150 extra, unwanted lbs. My body changed, and I slowed down all activity. Now I am eating differently, and using resistance bands to tone back up. While in gait training I had resistance bands to use, but nothing like the personal, on the go journey gym I have now that I am using along with my Nutrisystem Weight Loss Journey too.

Seriously, if I can lose the weight, so can any one else. My knee bends 90 degrees, and it has taken me years to be fine with that. At least I am still walking. To go up steps, I put my weight on my right leg first, then step up with the left. The benefit of slowly, and surely, healthier than losing the weight too fast is I am not pushing my leg, or it's hardware to the breaking point. I also had to have cadavers put in. I know a lot of others with joint, and replacements too. We all know that the extra weight is also making it worse. The bone pain, to the joint stiffness, and the swelling. I only get what I call marshmellow ankle in my hurt leg. This is why I really love the resistance bands exercises. It's easy, and effective.

There is no excuse on "I can't eat healthy at work, I don't have the meals." Throw that negativity out the window!!

Really, I am human too, and I tell people all the time, as long as I am losing, or just maintaining, any thing is better than where I started. So when they are hard on themselves too, I like to remind them that they are still better off than when they started. It truly is one day at a time, and just obey the easy things, like always eat breakfast, drink at least 64 oz's of water a day, eat every 2-3 hours. Don't skip meals, don't skip snacks. Fiber, and protein are extremely important.

I wanted to talk about fiber too. Make sure you are eating high fiber vegetables, my body did not like that I was losing all the weight, and just a few weeks ago I started having issues, but things are a lot better since I stopped eating red meats, and brought back in extra vegetables.

I have a short blog week this week. I start my vacation on Tuesday. I will be traveling! Which means ROAD TRIP! I do have healthy snacks packed, and easy nutrisystem meals to bring with me. I also will be bringing along my Journey Gym so it's not like I won't be blogging, haha. But more so testing myself to incorporate this life style change into traveling 10 hours to visit family. Also, the views going from the Mid West to the Atlantic Ocean are always welcomed, and beautiful. See you when I see you! :)

My 70 Day Journey Gym Challenge Starts today!!

Todays Agenda was pretty simple! I just had to weigh myself, along with taking measurements of my body. Followed by watching The Getting Started Video by Journey Gym. I already took my before photo, and did my excitement vlog. Below is my unboxing video! Literally Day 1 of the Journey.

After watching the Orientation Video I was ready to do my assigned 5 minute work out (they space it, and gradually have you do more.) Which is great! I'm ready to say good bye to the person I was, and ready to begin this journey.

By eating smaller meals through out the day. Least every 2-3 hours. I already know this is mentally, and my mentality has to stay positive!

Journey Gym has changed 500 lives already by this 70 Day Challenge. I will eat better, work out, and find others that are on the Journey too. Journey Gyms goal is to reach, and help 5 Million Lives. I know a few other bloggers that are doing this 70 day challenge. So, I really do feel part of a community. I am not alone. Every two weeks we have to make a video blog. The first 35 Days I have to just suck it up, and stick to the routine of doing the exercises. They make it easy by having different color bands, for different resistance strengths.

"The Greatest Adventure Is What Lays Ahead.." The Journey Gym also comes with extras! To show you more exercises, and to eat healthier. It's extremely important to log my meals to show what my intake is. They want to teach you that food is a fuel, and to eat better alternatives. That will be in Week 2's Vlog.

After the work out, I had to say "I worked out today." as part of the challenge. It did feel good to say it. My husband looked at me like what? You sure did honey, you sure did. My other work out involved strangling him with a resistance band.. kidding.. I would never do that. I don't want to shorten the bands life..

Mothers Day Potted Yellow Rose Review

I am a huge fan of plants. Especially ones delivered to me? Alive?? That aren't cut!! I absolutely adore. Don't get me wrong, I love beautiful fresh cut flowers too, but to me.. the love behind getting something with roots.. is by far the best. These were delivered to me from ProFlowers.

While browsing the flowers, I kept asking my 2 year old "What flowers do you want to pick out for Mommy?" While all the plants were beautiful, the selection of Mothers Day Plants is huge.

The hard part really is choosing which one I liked the most! I really wanted an Orchid too but I didn't know how that would turn out with grabby little toddler hands. I still would love one! *hint hint anyone that reads this that loves me, hahaha*

Ordering was extremely easy. After falling for the Potted Yellow Roses I then had the choose which container I wanted. I could have just got the container it came with that was free with the plant. Tho, soon as I saw the yellow roses, with the Victorian Tin I just had to have that one.
Check out was easy, I chose 3 days from the order date to have it shipped. It costs more to ship the next day, and on weekends. I'm fine with a few days. To me that is fast! Shipping is usually around $15.00, but keep into consideration, you are picking when you want it shipped (shipping prices vary.) Mine were mailed fast and I didn't pay the extra for rush.

It also comes with a care instruction card. First was to take the packing moss out, and give the plant some water. I sat mine on the counter where it would get some direct light.

Seriously, start to browse, and I am sure there are a few you'd want for your home, and to give as gifts. It was actually my cousin Liz's birthday this month. Since I didn't get myself the Orchid, I bought Liz the Teacup Orchid with Chocolates. That's how beautiful I think these gifts really are. It was delivered to her in Baltimore, Md the day before her birthday (I chose that day!)

When I bought my cousin her birthday gift, I found some coupon codes right on the website to use for RedEnvelope Coupons. Or try google searches, even searches on RetailMeNot.com. I signed up for the emails, and I get % off codes that way too.

Nutrisystem Week 7! Down another pound!

I forget I am even on a "diet." It has been such a complete life style change. My schedule is easy too. I wake up, make my protein drink, and breakfast. And, just feel better about the way things are turning out. Since I wake up this way now, the rest of my day is just as easy.

I am always getting compliments now from friends, and family that I look like I've lost a lot of weight. That makes me feel so good. I am down a lb this week, and I will take that pound as a victory. That is a total of 21 lbs!!!!

For people who don't know anything about Nutrisystem.. I'd like to explain it the best that I can. The program isn't just eating their meals. It is also about eating extra carbs, veggies, and proteins. You also have a daily journal to log everything you eat, and to exercise at least three times a day. For 10 minutes each time. I seriously eat more now than ever.

I really like to add dietary snack mix to my artisan salads, that way I get extra nutrients. The salad dressing I use is zero calories so I splurge on the snack mix. It also makes the salads not boring.

The program is great. I love being on it. It is more than just the meals. There is even an online community with forums, and people that share the same struggles, and goals.
