I am no longer a Mrs. Nothing to be ashamed about nor to be pity with.

I am still the same Yvonne Law. Loving God, appreciating life, love nature and love little children. I am still as witty and having fun in life.

It is just another new chapter of my life; I will move forward with hope and energy as there are still lots of beautiful things that the Lord has made.

If anyone approaches me for opinion for marriage, I will encourage! It is a beautiful union of a man and woman to love, to hold and to cherish.

I am just 0.0001% of case happened in this world. There are many successful marriage you can look up to.

Will I fall in love again? Of course and I am opened to it. To love and be loved is always a sweet experience.

With this, I am bringing a closure of this blog as I started this blog as a Mrs so will not update further.

I will not delete too as this is part of the story that my Author has made.

ACCEPTANCE & HOPE - 7 Stages of Grief

My 2 Nature Outings

I joined the meetup group on two different Saturdays for nature explorer. Pretty cool! Just 2 dislikes:

1. I slide down while climbing down from the rocks! Thank God no major injury.

2. I got lots of sand flies bites!

Overall was awesome trips. Will I go again? Yes, no sand flies bites please???? It is ugly and itchy. :(

HL: Hey, did you do something to your outlook? You looked different now. I mean you better now.

Me: Oh? I went for a plastic surgery.

HL: Really?

Steps Climbing

Thank God the haze is over!!

I can be back to outdoor events. This week, I did a long walk with Nathan from Telok Blangah Hill to Ken Ridge Park. I did a step climb of 40 levels alone! Yeah! Read about the benefits of steps climb. Abit skeptical can I? haha... you didn't know till you tried.

So I set myself a target of combing my own flat which has 3 staircases. Went up 1st one... not too bad... reached 14th floor with a bit of challenges. Took lift down (for knee protection, it is better don't do walking down stairs) and walked over to the 2nd one. Climbed up half way... oh dear... maybe I should stop at this one. Finally reached the top - 14th floor!

Yeah! Took lift on the way down to ground floor again and still contemplating should I walk up or take lift up home?

NIKE! Wow... this time can see my sweat running down... patting like nobody business and finally! reached 12th floor!

Son opened the door and said "Wow... is everything alright?" LOL

haha... managed to take a selfie outside my door steps.

Think the effect of the phone did a good job! Still look well...

These are the photos from last Saturday trekking. I walked from 8.30 am to 4 pm! My legs were aching but just that evening. Haha... I am getting stronger!

Morning Walk

Left home today at 7 am heading towards Marymount for a 4 to 5 hour walk! The route is:

Marymount - MachRitche track - Tree Top Walk - Rifle Range Road - MachRitche Walk - Bishan Park.

GE Women Run

Xin Yao Concert

A group of us went together for this event hosted by National Park on Saturday. As it happened to fall on the day of Halloween, someone came out a theme of Xinyao Halloween night. We caught the attention of the cameraman and being featured in Npark facebook!

I was in a function yesterday. An interesting conversation and the topic was on me.

Lady A asked me "What kind of men I like?"

"I don't like men." I responded.

"You don't! So are you a lesbian? Gay? Whoohaa...?" Lady A suddenly so high on spirit.

Lady B commented "Why are you so excited to know she is a gay?"

Followed by Lady B looked at me with lots of question marks.... "Yvonne, I need to observe you closely."

Such an amusing conversation.

Roamed alone at Singapore River

23 to 25 Oct was Singapore River Festival. My first time roaming in crowded place alone but never feel lonely at all. There were some band performances which were really nice. Never did I realise Singapore River was a beautiful place. Where have I been ya? Considering myself working in CBD area.

JB Shopping with Sister

The fun part of having a sister is you can shop and do girly stuff with her! We escaped to JB on 23 Oct, other than shopping, feasting and a fresh hair cut for me and she did a treatment too. heehee... it was really awesome time.

Managing a teenager boy...

... it is a test of patience!

There were days I feel so loved, days feel angry (my blood boiling) and days you simply laugh out loud.

Last evening, I have a discussion with Nathan about doing part time work during school term breaks. His first response "Very difficult to find one."

"How can you say difficult when you don't even try?"

The list of excuses a teen can find just get long when he refuses. (I shall not educated other teens in my blog)

We end up if he works, he gets to keep all money plus daily $5 per day allowance from me.

If he doesn't, he will have zero allowance.

His response? FINE. NO ALLOWANCE.

Arghh!!!! Why? How come??? His bd just over and his ango paos from various loved ones amounting to $250. On top of this, he has a good virtue of savings. Ah... I overlook this!

Mom needs to creative to manage your teen. Any mom reading this, please bear this in mind.

Money does not matter.... so what means alot to him? Phone and DS!

My ultimate aim is not having him rotting at home. Seriously, I rather having him out with some friends than everyday sleeping till noon and rotting with phone and games for the rest of the day. Even if he did some social work without any monetary rewards is absolutely fine with me!

If it is a few days of rotting, sure go ahead. But for 2 months, no way! It will drive me crazy.

I demand for a plan for 2 months from him; with details of time to wake up till the time to sleep. Main thing is to set him thinking how fruitful or unfruitful can he be for these 60 days.

If I am not convinced, his phone and DS will follow me to office during that 2 months.

That pains him! He quickly took over the laptop and starts his planning. (This is what I mean mom has to be creative!)

Low and behold when he saved his draft Excel spreadsheet, he named the file as "MOM NAG PLAN".

I just can't control myself and burst into laughters.

This is the fun of having a teen as your son. More to come!

15 years ago @1222, you entered this world. At our first time meeting in that small labour room, you smiled! That charming smile stayed clearly in my mind till now.

You are 15 today. Your smile is still so charming. I love seeing you smile, giggle and laugh. Such are the delights in my life.

Thank you for being a gift from God to me. I know the inner strength that you possess to face all challenges in your life comes from our God Almightly; His power and glory. Your resilient character has blessed many people in your life.

I pray you will continue to run the good race and fight the good fight. Remember your Creator in the days of youth; counting each blessing and press on victoriously.

My desire was fulfilled

Wednesday morning. Son said finally you don't need to leave home so early! Ya, right. I have to be in the school by 7.15 am! Ghosh! Salute to all school teachers!

Since last year I have wanted to be a volunteer for an organisation. I ever wrote to Children Cancer Society but no response. I was thinking to either join children ministry or outreach ministry in NCC. However, my desire wasn't quite there. I know I hope to be involved in the lives of the unfortunate children.

Past two days was another self realization. I have stepped into a horizon that I thought I can never manage; i.e. handling 33 "12 years old". Something that I would just say no in the past. I texted someone, I missed teaching the 3 to 6 years old children in my ex church. However, I just found out I can also managed the 12 years old well!

While still dazing in a train, reminiscing the fun I had for last two days, a colleague of mine - Denise suddenly appeared in front of me. We chatted a while and I shared I did my JA volunteering work. She asked if I was interested in helping the disability as another colleague is recruiting. I said not under company.

Then she mentioned she is doing a volunteering program in a children home. Immediately my ears tuned to it. She is an expert in craft making. She has managed to write to a home to volunteer to do craft sessions on every 3rd Saturday of the month. Immediately, this aroused my interest. Craft is my favourite and so are children! Yes! Something I would like to do that is not under church and not under company.

Well, when she gave me the name of the home, I was a bit skeptical as will it be under other religion? Denise is not a believer. Nevertheless, I told her I am interested. Guess what is the organisation?

Chen Su Lan Methodist Children's Home. Yes! The Lord knows my desire!

Queenstown Primary School - 12 & 13 Oct 2015

I volunteered to do a life skill program under Junior Achievers. This wasn't my first time participating it. I did it last May in Queenstown Primary School. It was fun time with the P5 students. It was not tough as there were 4 volunteers per class.

This year as it coincided with my non peak season, I volunteered again. I only knew we were going back to Queenstown Primary and only knew we are taking P6 students during briefing. I was thinking will I meet that class again? As the number of volunteers were few, we have the honour to do it alone! haha... by God's grace and strength alone! It was not nice to withdraw at the point of briefing as they were already shortage of volunteers. So all I can say - PRAY!

We were brought to our class earlier than the students. When the students came in, I was in awe! The same few "outstanding" ones made me know I was in the same class! Of course, some sweet smiles that warmed my heart last year, did the same effects too.

In my introduction, I told them I was here last year. But none of them recognised me! I told them I will show it to them tomorrow.

I was given heads-up that this class can be quite handful and especially now after PSLE, all they want was play. By the way, JA program is not about notes and facts. It has lots of fun activities but it needs fun people to make them fun.

First activity was to give their team a name. The first team simply refused to come out a name. You can see "bo-chap" attitude. I went over to them and one of them said "Don't know".

"Good! This team shall name as Don't Know."

I got unanimous response from that group "HUH!!"

The whole class laughed!

I proceed to write "Don't Know" on the board and gave the group a big smile and followed by a "big eyes stare". Even the teacher behind the class was giggling.

The rest of the teams knew this volunteer wasn't one that can easy bullied. I have the group names from the rest without much difficulty. :)

Even when I related this incident to Nathan, he laughed too. He commented they don't know you were a seasoned teacher!

First day went well, with a bit of running late of time and did not have a good conclusion of each session. (there were 3 sessions per day). There were lots of interaction and I was impressed by some of their out of the box ideas.

On the beginning of the second day, I flashed out this photo to help them to recall their memories:

One of the students exclaimed "Why you look so different now?" haha... I loved their frankness. I told that boy, just said I look better now. He said "OK, you are." hee hee... I simply loved kids.

Next I showed them the cards they made for us last year.

A boy sitting in the front commented "We thought you would have thrown them away!"

"No. They are my sweet memories. They are precious to me." and I thanked whoever made the cards and appreciated all the words written. I could see some girls were delighted. Boys being boys were giving me those looks "What de?" They must be thinking "another crazy traits of a mom" haha...

Second day went better. I have a better control of time, I can even have time to share a bit of my favourite son, encouraged them to see beyond PSLE and most importantly a class photo!

Again, they blessed me with a card with lots of words in it.

Just one I cannot miss it.

Cook a dinner under a rock + fireflies Night Trek

Yes, I did that! Greg commented I don't look like one. Veron scolded him don't be rude to her friend. haha... Greg, you have not known me yet!

It was awesome. I thank God for keeping me healthy. The more I walk, the stronger are my legs. I no longer having legs or knees pain that I used to have. I am happy I did this trip. Some photos to share here:

Nothing to show about the fire flies as we were not supposed to have lights. Otherwise, they will dim their lights. We did not manage to view much. However, the trekking in the night was something unique to me. Cooling, closed to nature, of course can hear the insects calling loud and clear!

Welcome Mikayla

Finally met Mikayla, second daughter of my BFF Karen. She was such an adorable baby! She gave me a heart melting smile when she first saw me! She just kept smiling and giggling; made me so welcomed. haha...

See! Even in my arms, she was smiling too!

How can I miss out the other adorable Abigal?

And of course it was always nice to fellowship with BFF.

In English the meaning of the name Mikayla is: Feminine of Michael,meaning gift from God.

In Hebrew the meaning of the name Nathan is: Gift from God.

Karen, enjoys this gift from God. Surely she will delight you as much as Nathan does to me.

When reality hits, it is painful. I received email from my lawyer for certain instructions and documents.

This time I cried not because of the person. I cried because of the process, the belief, time and effort.

18 years...

I will be well. Crying is just part of the healing process; sorting out my feelings and moving forward.

Thursday 6 Aug

Nathan and I went for a light show at Garden by Bay. Simply awesome. We caught the 10 pm show. The crowd wasn't there and probably was too late in the night?

Will let the video tells how good it was. After the show, we went to MBS. Very happening, right? We wandered till near 11 pm then we took a cab home. It was a very good time spent.

Friday 7 Aug

I joined a group for picnic at the botanical garden. The concert was kicked by PM Lee. Despite of early heavy downpour, it did not discourage the crowd.

We ended the day by watching a movie "It's a great great world" near swan lake. Some of us were guessing this was how our parents went for dating.

Saturday 8 Aug

We have an early celebration for Karen at Sentosa. We caught a glimpse of the Black Knights with lots of sounds and no vision.

The food was so - so but would commend on their service and thoughtfulness when we ordered a pancake for Karen.

After the lunch, I gatecrashed to two bakers' fellowship and volunteered myself to be a taster!

For your info, I broke my records - ate 3 buns within 24 hours. It was an impromptu catch-up with me asking "Bo jio" and ended up there to lay baking paper, open oven door and most important job is to take photos! LOL

So I did contribute to the success of these tasty buns... the laying of paper neatly and effort of opening the oven door! (Can't stop giggling as I wrote this.)

Coincidentally, three of us wore blue that day! 3 chio bu with a blue car behind.

Sunday 9 Aug

I am a proud mummy again as both of us wear red to go to New Creation Church. The service was in tune with the celebration. Once again, being reminded of God's power to do exceeding, abundantly above what we could ask for.

Again, but this time with Nathan we gatecrashed into Hazel's staycation at Novotel! So nice of her invited us to watch NDP and fireworks.

Most of the fireworks photos were captured by Rebecca. She is really good. Nathan and I really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you Hazel and family! You have blessed us again.

Monday 10 Aug

Went for lunch and movie Fantastic 4. It was definitely quality time together. Do I really enjoy such movie? Haha... I went alone to watch Avengers 2! So what do you think?

It is a good show with futuristic imagination and lots of animation, sound effect in line with a healthy and predictable story. Yes, bad guy always die in the end.

This was a special message to me.

In my whole adult life, I have also laid hold strongly to a belief.... which I finally let go.

He will carry me

A few days ago in the bus, i saw a lovely dad communicating with his cute daughter. It brought memories of my dad. Suddenly, a memory of me felling asleep in the sofa flashed back. Lao ba walked over and scooped me up and put me back to my bed.

It was very sweet moment. If I am not wrong, i was in upper primary. Still felt my dad was so strong and secured. I was so tired and dad doted me so much that he didnt bear to wake me up.

It also reminded me of the "Footprint" story. God carried me when I have no strength to continue my walk.

In today's service, Pastor Lawrence Lim preached "How to overcome trials and tribulation in life."

Simply, cried to God. Draw strength from the big God and not men. I am in awe. It was in-line with what I wrote in my blog a few days ago.

The service ended with this beautiful song "I will carry you." Tears just rolled down my cheeks.
