Tell me you didnt get an instant girl crush. I feel like im way behind on this one. Got these pics from the Nasty Gal blog where she was featured a few weeks ago. Went through her entire blog in just over under an hour. This chick resides in sunny california and has the whole skater grunge thing down pat. What draws me to her is the fact that she still manages to keep her chicness through it all yet maintains her edginess. Alot of the time you only see the grundgy-ness that is 'literal' to the point of tacky (ie. taylor momsen) and just plane, well, grundgy. I get the feeling that she's tomboyish and really cool to hang with. I especially love her little cross tattoo. The fact that she writes songs, plays guitar and has a naked fingers phobia just like me only adds to her cool laid back persona.
If you like Christeric and have a knack for kirt Cobain and all things the 90's, do yourself a favor (if you havent already) and check her out. You'll thank me later.

Finally. These are the last pics of my weird reddish highlighted hair. Out with the old and in with the new. My hair is now BLONDE! Half anyways. You'll get to see in my next post. This is me looking hippie chic i guess. I cut the straps off a corny ass wrap dress and voila! A totally cool leopard cardi was born. Got the boots, bull horn pendant and headband from a consignment shop and bought that fucking awesome recycle shirt yeeaaarrrs ago at a thrift shop. Lost a couple pounds and squeezed into these adorable cutoff shorts. I love the peachy color. I dont see that too often. Topped it all off with this amaazing vintage belt with the cool lion heads on it.Im soo into them right now. But ill get into that with my "what im wearing this year post". See yall next time.

VINTAGE ONE-PIECE

Found this truly old as dirt photo from June of last year of what i wore for my first Lint Shop photo shoot. Im wearing my favorite 'cape' (i guess its called) and a vintage one-piece that will be on sale in my shop soon. I figure i should start blogging the things i plan to sell before they go up in hopes of gaining some built up anticipation. I suck at updating pretty much anything so right now my shop is kinda lacking but i plan to set everything right within a week. I should have some spanking new vintage within 2 weeks. I'll be posting my last lost photos from a long long time ago (from when my hair was a weird, stuck in between, sorta reddish brown, wont turn blonde no matter what i do, pain in my ass color) tomorrow and then on sunday brand new outfit posts. Not even sure if i should call it that. Its more like me fooling around in the dark in front of the camera outfit post. eh. guess you'll have to wait and see. CIAO ASS MONKEYS.

Hey kiddos and kid-ettes.

Posting what's technically my first post of the new year. Although these pics are from last October. Teehee. I think i was just a little bit heavier or i can just blame it on this banging ass (yes i said banging and yes i said ass) southwestern blouse i got from a crappy consignment shop. its really lame and the owner sucks balls but if you look really hard you might find something. nonetheless, It still had the tags on it and obviously someone didn't know what they had. I flossed it out that day but i plan to wear it a little softer, un-button it and just throw it over a tank and some cut off shorts. In love with the belt also from the same shop. i think i managed to find less than 10 things total, some of which include the horn pendant in my last post, a pair of clunky boots ill be wearing in my next post(also from October), and a box of tarot cards. yes, i read cards. call me weird but i prefer cool.

I have been living in this fringe get up. I wore it the first time here but it hadnt reached its full potential. i re-fringed it and cut the sleeves completely off and now its kicking ass. Although you cant really see, im wearing a black stretch pencil skirt and a second belt underneath. Wanted to make sure i wasnt flashing anyone. Bought the awesome ox belt and horn charm from a consignment shop and im head over heels in love. I hadnt gone shoppin in a while and these gave me the perfect reasons to indulge. love love love.

Just a quick post before bed. These are photos from the Piazza boutique opening here in Philadelphia. My sister did some modeling for them and i went along to take pics. They house local up-and-coming independent designer pieces, including some that were showcased in the Philadelphia Collection, as well as some amazing vintage pieces. My sister is wearing Orlando (Suenos Designs) one of my fav indie designers. His pieces are amazing. You can see some here.

I dont drink often but that night I had some wine. Dont know why I look so angry up there. I was mucho happy.

Happy birthday to me! Yesterday i turned 28 and this was what i wore. Loved my outfit. it was pretty damn comfy and almost carefree. Almost because The universe totally tried to rain on my parade. I chose the worst day possible and to wear a maxi and to straighten my normally curly hair. Seemed like everything was right but also nothing at all. Dont think i didnt notice the weirdness that was my lipstick. Its was like i missed a spot and then missed another and another. I bought this cover girl lipstick because it was suppose to stay on for 16 hours. Stay it does. However it starts to look like chipping paint within 20 minutes of me applying it and then it STAYS like that until im able to find 1. a mirror, 2. some baby oil, vaseline or makeup remover (as it states on the package) and 3. somewhere private since im always in public when this happens. needless to say i am still on a hunt for the perfect stay on red lipstick. wore my fav tee that i also wore here and my fav purse and jewels again. Cant get enough of my 'fake' YSL. <3

Despite everything that TRIED to ruin my day, this birthday actually turned out to be the best one ever. Had dinner with a friend (his treat of course) and then came home to a surprise party. My first ever! Was completely mushified (yes. thats mush-i-fied) in 2 seconds flat and also recieved the best gift EVER from another dear friend of mine which ill post later this week. it is as pretty as a picture.

i cant believe that ive posted 3 birthday through blogging already. Seems like the last one wasnt that far behind. im aint coplaining tho. i believe ive said it before....

i look pretty damn good for my age. so suck it.

Tell us about your personal style. Where do you get your inspiration?

I’d call my style grunge gypsy surf rock. With a little tomboyish swag. I have my days. Some days I feel like a rock groupie and other days I feel like an old Hollywood American Indian gypsy. If there is such a thing. Lol. I guess what I mean is that some days I feel hard and some days I feel soft. I’m always being tugged between the two personalities. I’m a rocker girl at heart but I love the girly things like sheer fabrics and lace and frill. Mostly I guess my look is inspired from old vintage rock attitude. I hate looking too perfect. I like to appear as if I just rolled off a tour bus at all times. The overdone look seems so fake to me. Nobody looks like that naturally. I’m all about natural. I try not to wear too much makeup. Just the basics. Eyeliner and lipstick. They pump up my whole grungy vibe. If I’m having a soft day I’ll still grunge it up a bit. Also, I hate for a piece of clothing to make me feel self-conscious. If I feel like I’m going to have to adjust myself all day I’m not going to buy it. Almost everything I own is not clingy. As far as what inspires me I like signature styles. A style that is unmistakable and totally recognizable. Like Amy Winehouse (R.I.P). Her style is just so unique. You can spot her a mile away. I love that. It took a while for me to find my true style but once I did I felt so comfortable in my skin.

Still tired from the past couple of days.

Heres the outfit i wore to the fashion show saturday.

Im wearing my favorite purse and glasses of the moment. So simple and so chic.

The fall is almost fully here and im so excited. Everyone knows that i through my dress game on in the fall. My hair gets straighter and i get chicer (is that a word?) I bleached my hair hoping to feel refreshed, and i do, and decidedt that i wanna be a little less grungy and a little more casual effortless glam. My mood changed 8 times a day so we'll see how long that idea lasts. I just know for sure i wanna be a total rock groupy goddess this winter.

So much more to post. Hold your breathe. Im getting the hang of this consistency thing.

This is one of the stylings I did for Bebe as a part of Still Fashion in Motion. Basically live mannequins standing in the windows of various stores freaking people out across america. Here in Philly the stores that took part in this exhibit were Saks 5th Avenue, Neiman Marcus, 2bebe and Brooks Brothers.

More walking and running around. Today was 4 hours of breathlessness. I had the crazy job of styling 2 models at bebe, getting them in the window on time (4 outfits an hour for 4 hours), photographying my stylings, then running as fast as i could with a sprained leg, in heels, to the other stores to photograph them as well. My sister would have been highly upset if i didnt get any good shots of her.

All in all everyone did an awesome job. It was amusing to see and hear all the shoppers reactions when they realize the mannequins are breathing. Through this event and the fashion show in the previous post, ive made alot of great contacts and cant wait to attend next year. Im hearing that maybe (finger crossed) i will be styling at several stores across the country. Totally meant for me to break my leg so i could get the chance to show my skills.

Ive got at least 2 weeks before i have to attend any other shows and im relishing. All attention goes back to The Lint Shop. Its Fall and i havent updated our inventory. Fashion week is making my shop suck. lol. no excuses. Its time to rip and roar. Going to bed for some Much needed sleep and work and blog tomorrow. ciao.

The Philadelphia Collection

Sept. 17th. What i wore to the Germantown fashion and arts festival. This is 1 of 2 events that my sister and I took part in as a part of The Philadelphia Collection, a 13 day series of fashion events and the pre-cursor to the start of Philly fashion week.

Standing in heels for 14 hours isn't easy. Especially with a strained leg. I managed to walk/limp away with only minor bruising.

This year was my first year attending the arts festival or just being a part of Philly Fashion Week as a whole.

I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Originally i was to be a model for the show along with my sister. Due to my leg injury I was forced to drop out. In the end i came to support my sister and get a little blogging done. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I was anxious to see the designers that were chosen to showcase their lines and whether or not they would be worth coming out to see. The designers over exceeded my expectations.

My favs were Zombieflynation, Orlando and Gumball 3000.

I have faith that these designers are gonna be huge.
Big ups to my sister Felicia. She werked that runway.

Next up in the collection? live mannequins freaking people out at malls across america.

Philly Fashion

Unlike my blog posts of late, I actually have a little more time to write a sufficient entry. So here goes...

This week has been crazy. My sister and I have been running around like crazy getting ready for Philadelphia Fashion week. Sunday instead of getting fitted for the live mannequins event for Fashion in motion, (due to a very sudden and totally annoying leg injury) i did what i'd prefer to do anyways and ended up styling for Bebe. Major fist pump moment. Thank god for my sister urging me to go anyways.. Im actually grateful for the injury. anywho......

Felicia is gonna be modeling in the Philadelphia Collection (17 days of fashion)
and ive been allowed to snap snap snap away. If any of you can come out, the event will be taking place starting next week September and i will be attending on the 17th. Email me for directions. I'll see you there.

Other than that, soo much has been happening. The Lint Shop is quickly gaining notoriety and ive been offered many styling jobs. Im making a name for myself here in chilly philly. So much so that ive decided to take action on a move i been desperately wanting to make for a while. Literally, A MOVE. I've decided that after living in the 'burbs' for 3 years, the sun has set on my time here and these quiet drama-free streets can no longer contain me. Im going Downtown for good and I can't wait. Center City is filled with the hustle and bustle im longing for and its gonna be so perfect. I've been scouting artist lofts and im pleasantly surprised to find that there are so many in this city. Philly has alot to offer the art world and im ready to dive right in.
