Actively Correcting & Beautifying BB Cream

BB cream have taken the make up world by a storm lately, and every brand nowadays seems to be producing and modifying this latest break through in cosmetics..

Tinted moisturizer happens to be an essential part of my everyday makeup, so when Kiehl's team kindly sent out a sample for me to try out I thought sure why not I've got nothing to lose..

I've been using this product for the past two months to give it enough time to test out and review, sample size could easily last me up to 6 months..

So after washing, toning and priming my skin I spread out the BB cream on my entire face with a sponge or simply with my fingers the coverage is light but can be buildable to give a bit more coverage ..

It comes in 4 different shades the one I got was Medium a bit lighter than my current tanned skin but that can easily be fixed by some loose powder or a dab of a bronzer..

With all honesty , there's a noticeable difference to my skin and I've been using it 5 days a week as a part of my work make up so I'll keep on going until the tube ends not to forget it got SPF 50 as well which is an added bonus..

The folks at Harvey Nichols been stepping up their game lately, as today they brought the talented designer Markus Lupfer to meet and greet clients..

The person behind the witty and playful embroidered sweaters, who was really excited to be visiting Kuwait for the first time..

To be honest I was pretty skeptic about his brand few years ago but when I tried out embroidery myself for Addicted line I came to appreciate the brand a lot more..

Markus designs are available in Kuwait exclusively for Harvey Nichols, and lately he went further with designing printing tops, shorts and pants.

Garments easy to incorporate into daily wear which can go dressy or just for everyday wear..

The burger sweater above happens to be one of the designers favourite pieces as he mentioned today..

The sweater with the ring is my favourite as I've have it on my Fall/Winter list..

It's probably too hot for a sweater but there's t-shirts with sequined collars, printed pants and lightweight shirts as well..

One of the newest items introduced to Markus Lupfer brand was shoes, a minimal selection of sequined kitten heels as well as as funky brogues, I really liked the one with the lace so nice...

The boutique itself is very minimal and clean, perfect to pick out a gift wether it's a handbag, a t-shirt or a piece of accessorie..

Some of the labels I've managed to identify were FMM, Fyunka, Lialiaiya & The ahli's which was shortly introduced after I left * bummer *

I wanted to spend more time but my schedule was a bit hectic so I took a very brief look around ..

The highly anticipated Archie Girls for MAC was released yesterday, I came upon this information by pure coincidence while I was passing by the shop ..

So the collection basically plays around Betty the next door blonde and Veronica the spoiled brunette..

Most of the items were sold out by the time I got there, so what's shown are the only items I've managed to purchase..

From Right to left; Daddy's Little Girl lipstick which is a pretty pink shade, Pearl Matte face powder in Flatter Me which has a golden peach colour..

I've managed to buy the last set of brushes adorned by tiny little hearts..

I'm not that much of a make up person but such a sucker for pretty packaging, if only the rest of the collection was there I'd probably purchase it all the only item I'm kicking myself for missing would be The Betty Bright Lipstick since MAC happens to be my favourite brand for lipsticks..

It seems impossible for a week to pass without passing by Cocoa Room, lucky for me even in Oman I've managed to find that Slider Station is available there..

Thanks to Omani Cuisine blog, anyways let me tell you this the location is phenomenon ! It overlooks the beach and the space is double what we have in K-town..

Started with a cuppa of black coffee ofcourse, I can't believe I was up by 8 on a vacation !

The lovely surprise was seeing Vilas there, if you're following me on instagram that man is a celebrity !

Green Chilli & Roast beef Benedict

Super spicy, not something I would usually go for but I'm glad I did..

Being a big fan of spicy food, so the mix of buffalo sauce, green chili & hollandaise was perfect ..

I ordered a side order of hashbrowns as well..

Eggs Menmen; Turkish style scrambled eggs with greens, tomatoes, feta cheese and chili flakes comes along with pita bread..

Brownie Pancakes, or death by chocolate.

A meal by itself , a cup of black coffee is a great companion..

They have The Red Dragon Challenge, which seems at it's start since slider station only opened 1.5 yrs ago..

My choice this time went for something a bit more relaxing, little shopping, more food, sun and clean air.. Nonetheless I'm not even tanned yet !

Shangri La is amazing, such a serene and secluded place . Well surrounded by a selection of restaurants and cafe's to pass the time..

Blazers is one of the wardrobe staples for me, summer and winter it just remains something essential more or less a some kind of a uniform ..

Since you can dress them up or down, formal or casual my collection happens to expands from high and low, simple or over the top..

Spotted this Gorgeous Camilla & Marc blazer at Harvey Nichols the other days, loved the print ; the stripes flowers and chains made me picture it with a pair of wide fit high waisted pants perhaps in some shade of green ..

Everywhere I go all that I notice is mini bags, and my current favourite bag at the moment is Phillip Lim Pashli Satchel

I got the mini red one last year,( last spotted here )

And I'm still tempted to get another colour as well, window shopping at Al-Ostoura was a great surprise since they had a wide selection of colours, materials and sizes..

Floral pashli as spotted above, and let me tell you this even though its mini it manages to fit a lot of things so what more a girl can ask for a mini fashionable bag yet practical !

Yellow & Coral which in the pictures looks more orange than coral . Gorgeous sorbet colours which may compliment any simple outfit

There's basic black and funky beaded center panel with black and white spots.. If you fancy monochromes, lucky for me and my savings that the mini one wasn't available in pink otherwise I wouldn't have been able to resist the temptations..

For some reason the lighting wasn't to my favour and most of the designers were a bit busy socializing here and there so I've only managed to look closely into two designers only *Disappointing I know*

Endemage, talented designer from Oman who took her inspiration from her beloved country notice the Arabesque bodice on the dress ? She got me really excited to visit Oman and take a look at it's rich culture..

Another brand which really got my interest is Mochi, I'm a sucker for traditional fabrics but since they feature modern silhouettes yet focusing ancient textiles . I was capture by the collars, never seen anything similar before but they weren't selling items at the time ..

Another brand I fell in love with was Bleach, abaya influenced seperates * no pictures sorry* since it was the most crowded section of them all and attracted everyones interest ..

Now to the stylish crowd and what they wore,

Noha Al-Roumi slick and fab as usual and this lizard for sure made a statement..

Hashem Asad, quite avant garde in his Givenchy outfit..

Aziz Al-Mudhaf, took simplicity to another level I'm in love with his Maison Martin Margeila corky oxfords

Out & About : Summer Sandals

Since summer started and I'm the lookout for flat sandals, my first stop was Al-Ostoura

I've spotted those sandals/ summer boot on a hurry a short while ago and kept thinking about them ever since, I went even further picturing them with ankle length skirts and cropped pants ..

All those previous plans simply evaporated once I tried them on, ok they are a pair unusual footwear to begin with but don't know I couldn't pull them off at all !

The pair featured above is by Maison Martin Margiela, available in nude/beige colour as well..

Gorgeous, diamante' , pvc sandals in the prettiest shade of pink and the yellow strap is more on the neon-y side to be more precise ..

A bit too girly for my wardrobe I guess, spotted at By Malene Birger

Bimba & Lola quirky sandals, pvc and cool colourful shapes they were super light and the leather was beyond soft..

While Kenzo in the last while managed to get a wide selection of shoes, and to be honest I'm beyond impressed with the variety given shown in the pics below and above..

And the best for last by Kenzo, my favourite of them all the colour combination is perfect for casual outings or running errands in our smoldering summer !

Soft Opening : Ribs and Rumps

Last week got an invitation to the soft opening of Ribs and Rumps located in the new restaurant complex (Menus) .

Not a meat person myself but I allow myself to indulge every once in a while ..

Let me tell you a funny story, I was accompanied by my friend who first asked to be served desserts as a start for the meal and she was a bit self conscious about this request. Little she knew I rather have my desserts first before digging into the meal and for some reason the staff took our weird request literally and served us; desserts, main course & finally appetizers ! *lol*

Grilled mushroom skillet, very tasty and had a hint of garlic to it..

We ordered calamari and chips as well but I haven't tried it..

The ribs !

Where to start, it wasn't that tender but the flavour was out of this world..

I was kinda skeptic, since the dish look like it suited a carnivore from stone age but to my surprise the overall flavour was excellent..

The second main course we had was ribs burger, first time for me to try it but it's gonna be my must have dish to eat on my next visit.. It was tasty, tender and fulfilling without being too heavy and I loved the fact it was served on a cereal bun..

Which leads us to the happy ending, honey pinenuts & rosemary tart..

Not too sweet and perfect to accompany tea..

The second dessert, since you know one isn't enough as suggested by the waiter we went for the Hazelnut tart.. chocolatey but not too much which made it perfect.. Light and fluffy..

The interior was interesting, we only wished that the lights was dimmer to give the place a more cosy feel but it was for our advantage to take better pictures with strong lights..

Finally the wait is over and the second Chanel Boutique opened in Kuwait, for me it feels perfect since now The Avenues Mall includes everything.. Too bad for my savings perhaps, nonetheless this boutique happens to be the biggest store in the Middle East by far until the boutique in UAE opens..

Two floors boutique, featuring a wide selection of fashion, footwear, accessories, handbags and jewelry.

No luck finding the mini boy bag though, the last piece was available in boring beige though..

Soft leather handbag, with an adjustable strap very travel friendly..

Chanel loafers, yes please !

Those jelly slippers, perfect for a beach holiday or maybe for our unforgiving summer I forgot to snap a picture of other ones which I really like featuring a black camelia ..

Chain trimmed, fingerless gloves..

Quirky shirts, I'm a big fan of applique and those tiny flowers which some of them were made of leather was my favourite so chic !

25 years back, Ingie brought high fashion to Middle East. Chanel, Valentino, & other major design houses on top of the list..

Now the time came for her to launch her own line, she had chosen Kuwait to be the first housing her boutique..

The boutique, which was divided into three sections ; the store front, the pearl dome & private closet at the back embodied the pearl figure completely..

Not to forget that the name Ingie means pearl in Turkish language, as tiny glass beads shaped into pearls were artistically distibuted around the boutique..

The middle had a pearl dome plated with white gold..

Tweed, sequins & tafetta were major characteristics of the designs .

They took a great attention to delicate details, I was fond of the cream asymmetrical lace dress so dreamy ..

The mint green tulle dress which Lady Fozaza wore to Grazia ME Style Awards last week..

A full cream suit for ladies was available if you don't fancy dresses, they had two nice tuxedo's for men as well..

Kuwait Rocks Kenzo : What They Wore

By now I'm sure you've heard of the mayhem of Kuwait Rocks Kenzo event, organized by the lovely Noafa of Pretty Little Things..

For the first time ever I was early to arrive, you know to secure myself a sweater and perhaps a t-shirt as well * Greedy ; I know*

Anyways since everyone managed to post and I took my sweet time to edit the snapshots of the fun event, which made me queue in line for 2 hours to pay !

I'm thankful I was wearing flats, which is a first as well !

The coveted sweater which literally flew off the shelves, they were showing Vans X Kenzo as well..

Celebrity Chef Giorio Locatelli hosted a two night dinner at Hotel Missoni , Cucina Restaurant..

The night was buzzing with people, as we shared our table as well ..

Unexpected, but life is full with surprises ..

To kick start our meal we had a selection of Antipasti "Appetizers"

which consisted of a small salad, carpaccio & bruschetta drizzled with balsamic..

Two kinds of pasta, along with prawns and fresh sweet cherry tomato sauce to go along ..

I loved the thinner pasta more, but Bedour leaned more towards the chubby ones ..

It was my first time to try out fillet of beef combination with green pesto, delicious nonetheless..

At last, Fendi's fashion show heels just arrived at the brands boutique in The Avenues Mall..

Spring 2013 latest collection is to die for, the mix of exotic leather, the hand stitching plus the lego like heel which comes tri coloured..

It's doesn't look bulky at all, as much as it feels like 3 shoes in one its very light weight..

I prefer shoes that comes with platform as it gives me more support and more height as well but for this I'm welling to forget about the platform..

The Armadillo comes in mettalic colours, black or white..

Kitten heels version, not a big fan but I'd take them over the typical Fendi logo ones !

My favourite piece of all of them !
