You know how some people in 4 seasoned countries can get depressed in winter because there's not much sunlight? (or something like that, my bad)

I've got lots of stuff going on, which are,were not bad stuffs. For the past few weeks, I've done lots of travelling -to Penang, JB, back to Kerteh, then KL, then Kerteh, then Singapore, then...only around KL area last weekend because the gf was in town woooohooo~

And congrats again to my man Zoon and his wife Gina! And thanks for inviting me to your wedding dinner. Thanks to his wedding dinner, the gf got herself an excuse to go to KL. It was my first time to a Chinese wedding and this one was held at Sunway Hotel, Resort and Spa...I think I got it right.

Next, what's next? Have no idea. I don't know why I get a bit lazy updating my blog here but when it comesto my other blog, the danial-ligno.blogspot.com, it's different. Do check that blog out yeah?

The Weekend

Last weekend was a packed one. I went down to JB and Singapore, mainly to visit my grandmother and...because of another business in Singapore. So, alang-alang dah ke Singapore, I planned to meet up with the gf.

I left quite late after work because got a bit of unfinished work in the office. Everyone was busy preparing for the 2nd audit of Skim Organik Malaysia that was supposed to be carried out yesterday but has been postponed to another date after raya "atas sebab yang tak dapat dielakkan". heh

Got on the highway around 6.35pm and had my dinner at Restoran Jejantas Ayer Keroh. For iftar, it was in the car and I had 2 dates. By the time I got to Ayer Keroh, it was 7.45pm. Okay la tu.

I reached my aunt's house in JB around 11.25pm gitu. Wasn't that tired, maybe because I thought too much of what was gonna happen the next day.

The next day, I left for Singapore around 9am, but before that I went to my friend's house to get the white card. The white card is actually an entry form that every non Singaporean needs to fill up upon entering the country. Since I was driving, I didn't want to hold up other people behind me as I had to complete the form at the counter. The practice is to have the white card all complete by the time you got to the counter.

Thank God there wasn't too many cars. And I couldn't believe that I remember the direction to the gf's house (well, I did call her to reconfirm =P)

Long story cut short, after I was done with my business, me and the gf went straight back to the house. The original plan was to break our fast at Bazaar Geylang (please note that Geylang Serai and Geylang the red light district area are two different places. Geylang Serai is like a Malay town where there are many Malay shops and communities. The other Geylang is the place where..hmm..people do the not so good things) but the gf was having a headache having to wait me in the car under the sun. Poor girl. So, dengan muka tak malu, I joined her family berbuka.. =___="
After solat, the gf was felt much better and we both headed to Bazaar Ramadhan Geylang. I must say I didn't expect it to be that big, and to be packed too! It was madness. I guess you can say this bazaar is in the same league as the Jalan Masjid India.

Tanjong Katong Complex

Selamat, selamat, selamat.

I had quite a good time enjoying 'Dengdeng'. Such weird name for delicious food. It is grilled beef, and you eat it just like that. Pretty expensive, 100g for 4SGD. But I guess it was worth it. Brought some back for my cousins and they like it. Hmm, to me it tasted like burger patty. =P

The next day, I met up with the gf one last time at Larkin Sentral. She and her family went to JB for some grocery shopping. After that, we said our good bye =/

Later that afternoon, me and my two cousins headed out. The plan was to go to Plaza Angsana, but my, it was packed!! It was weekend so of course Singaporeans would have come down to do some raya shopping. So we changed our destination to Jusco Tebrau. Finally, we got tired of the traffic we just went to a DVD store. =P Bought Rise of Planet of Apes, The Beaver and Paul. Was worth the RM12 I spent. ;)

We straight away headed to the bazaar ramadhan in Taman Dahlia for fear the nasi briyani would sell out. Thank God we were the first (I guess?). I got myself nasi briyani gam kambing, so did my cousin. And it was her treat! Hahaha thanks Yan!

Thanks to Izyan my cousin for buying the nasi briyani for me. Hehehe, malu je, orang belajar belanja orang bekerja =P

Believe it or not, I had never tasted Air Katira before, so the cousins brought me to the best one in town. Tiga bungkus wa beli! And yeah, it was good. Too bad we can only get it in Ramadhan, apparently. =(

So, that's the quickest and briefest update I've ever made about my trip.

Sahur - The Right Time To Feast...I think?

I don't usually eat a lot during iftar, I always have combinations of dates, water, with nestum with milo, biscuits, currypuffs; any of this whichever I feel like eating. To me, since iftar is almost close to sleeping time, it would not be wise to indulge yourself too much. Or maybe it's just me. Because 2 weeks ago when I went back to Kerteh, I had terrible stomachache the next day. I can't even count how many times have I been in the toilet.

So, for me sahur is the best time to feasttt. But once in a while I do eat a lot for iftar. Just last Saturday I went for bukak puasa gathering with my high school buddies. It was the biggest turn out so far, almost 30 of us. Out of 120. hahaha, a grand reunion shall be in plan...

My roommate in my last year at SESMA - the head student, Hisham KP as we fondly call him hahaha. Got back from Japan some 5 months ago.

So, for today's sahur I made Udang Masak Kunyit, stir-fried cabbage, and scrambled eggs. Nothing special but preparing a dish like UMK was quite an achievement to me. Hohohoho...

Pelik tapi benar. Ketika aku rasa malas, tiba-tiba aku punya kekuatan untuk melakukan banyak kerja. Macam hari ni. Dah la aku tak sahur sebab terbabas tidur sampai pukul 6 pagi, dengan hari yang agak panas.

Family Friends Food - 3Fs

WAHAHAHAHA!!!

Imagine hearing that at 1 in the morning, in a kampung kind of place, where there is no night activity; lepak kat mamak ke (there's no mamak to begin with! only McD's), play futsal, late night movie. Yeah, that pretty much sums up my 3 days at home. Joy. Maybe I am feeling like this because I am getting older and I won't be having more of this kind of moment with my family; my siblings especially. Tup tap tup tap, ~~one of us getting married first~~ =P all of us have grown up. The brothers getting taller and better looking (ye ke?) and the only princess at home getting prettier obviously but with uncertain future still.

Anyway, my mom got me this thing, that made me convinced that Doraemon is out there, helping us mankind...

PEMANGGANG AJAIB!!!!

I have yet to try it but my family really love this pemanggang ajaib. Apparently the pemanggang not only can be used to grill, but also to fry, and steam. I wanna cook but I still feel rather lazy, houselag (houselag = when you go back to your home sweet home and drown yourself in the tsunami of foods)

Oh, and this year Mr. Ahmad Said, Terengganu MB has been very generous to give out not only a box of dates, but also this pack of Air Zam Zam. Terima kasih kepada yang memberi.

Puasa tak sampai seminggu dah nyanyi lagu raya! Apa kess????
But it's a true fact that I will be going back to Kerteh today after work. And my sempoi boss as usual gave me the green light to go back a bit early today. I guess that's the perk of working in a new startup, small company. Things are a little bit laidback, and you get to be close to your superiors at work. Oh, and we will be having a new staff this coming 15th August, and finally, a guy! Not that we don't like girls, but there are some tasks that need the gentlemen's prowess physical strength to get them done, so imagine me being the only guy, on leave? But for the past few months the industrial training students have been reallly helpful. hehehehehe

By theway, since the internet connection back home is not as fast as my Unifi (laju dowh!) I might not be able to blog (excuses!) To those who are going back home also or travelling, be careful, drive carefully (meaning you can drive fast as long as you are careful?? )

So, the authority's words are absolute over there? Can we do that here? HAHAHAAH surely can't because there are too many cars already. Can't help it, having a car in KL is no longer luxury but a necessity. Though I wonder what would happen if, if for one day: -

- we all leave our cars at home, take the bus
- the bus comes on time
- bus comes more frequent

Would that solve the problem? I don't know but I hope those in charge of this have already looked into this matter. I think the excuse "bukan orang Malaysia yang guna bas tapi mat bangla dan pekerja indo je ramai" is so immature and not well thought of. This I saw in some forums.

Oh, and I haven't been watching much tv lately so I really didn't know about all the hypes surrounding the 8TV's allegedly racist advertisement. I have yet to watch it so if anyone knows where can I watch it please share it with me ya?

So, after being urged and talked to by my mom to buy food from the bazaar in Putrajaya so that I don't have to cook this month, I made the first step, the first to many more perhaps..to go to the bazaar Ramadhan near my place. Just right next to the Sungai Besi Expressway. Of course there are only 10-20 stalls or so. But it is good enough for someone like me who doesn't really like spending time outside, choosing and deciding what to buy. I'm indecisive alright.

So, I headed straight to the bazaar after I got my passport photos taken. And I think I'm used to seeing all the rubbish, litter on the road like the one in this picture now...

So, to get to my place, if you're on Sg.Besi Expressway heading to UPM or Putrajaya from KL and you spot this Minlon building, make a left turn. =P

Before I bought some keria, bandung cincau and ayam percik for tomorrow's sahur, I went to get my passport photos taken. To get my passport renewed some time this year. Anyway, I was kinda pleased to see me so fair skin in the pictures.

Alhamdulillah, first day of fasting. I have always wondered how can one break fast with just dates and water. But I finally got it just now that it is not something impossible. All this while I have been eating as if there's no tomorrow when Ramadhan is supposed to be the time I learn some self control, not only when it comes to eating but other aspects in life as well. That's how I would sum my day today. Though I didn't have one decent meal, just some finger foods, snacks, and light meal? (do you consider mee goreng light? LOL)

Morning went to watch the NCBL match between my friends' team Quakes and some other team. As usual, after the match and all the post match discussion, we all went to the mamak's. There, I had mee goreng mamak satu. And after that, I went to 1U. My first time driving there, all this while always went there with my family and my friends, which was 3 years ago with Yihorng, Reshme and Greenie.

Wasting my time only looking for the direction to 1U on the net. My GPS got it and even if I don't have one, I can still just follow the signboard.

This is the most cool, yet matured guy I've ever come across =)

This was me back in January 2009. Hensem tak? WAHAHAHAHA! *perasang*

I went to 1U to look for Tamiya Underground yeah! It took me almost 30 minutes looking for the store and had I asked the makcik security earlier I would have saved a lot of time. And Tamiya Underground has the track for the mini 4WD cars but they don't sell it anymore. Bummer. So I left. And I should have really asked any friend of mine to tag along because then I could have at least done a bit of shopping. I don't like shopping alone, might as well do it online. =P

And I was feeling a little bit hungry, so I bought roti boy. Not 1 but 2. And the cashier guy was like whining to his friend, "kenapa semua orang beli 2 je?" and the girl replied "Eh you ni dah orang beli cakap banyak" as she noticed I heard what the guy said lol. I just smiled. And as I was on my way to the carpark, I spotted Old Chang Kee! It is from Singapore and I heard there are only few of the stalls in JB so it was a pleasant surprise to find one in KL. Maybe I just didn't know about this. So, there I was buying another balls on stick, I mean tofu balls on stick.

I wanted to stay longer but I just didn't wanna get trapped in the traffic jam because I don't really know the traffic there in Damansara. Anyway, my next destination - The Mines. Nothing much, I thought of doing some window shopping to compare between the prices in retail stores and online stores. Need to be cheapskate maah! And then beli lagi, kali ni, McFlurry Oreo. Melantak puas-puas, banyak-banyak pasal esok nak puasa dah! =P

And that was all I had...oppss nope, I just had rice with ayam masak merah and bokchoy (sungguh tak matching) just now after Terawih! Moreh gitu!
