If you enjoy games like Fallout you may like Thunderdome II, a text-based RPG game that has been online since 1994.Often likened to Wasteland, the Commodore 64 prequel to "Fallout", Tdome offers a dark, and often humorous perspective on a futuristic world set sometime after a nuclear holocaust. Human society, now composed of roughly governed gangs, must now contend with aliens and mutated creatures for control. The game boasts over 13k rooms, and players can choose between 12 different classes, and are allowed to log on 3 seperate characters simultaneously.

Guns (dozens are available), biological implants and magic are available, offering alternative methods for a character in a life filled to the brim with danger and adventure. Inexperienced players soon learn that for survival chances may be increased by joining one of Tdome's many gangs that offer a variety of advantages.

Just for today: I will try to live through this day only and not tackle my whole life's problems at once. I can do something for twelve hours that would appall me if I felt that I had to keep it up for a lifetime.

Just for today: I will adjust to what is and not try to adjust everything to my own desires. I will take my 'luck' as it comes and fit myself to it.

Just for today: I will have a programme - I may not be able to follow it exactly, but I will have it. I will save myself from two pests; hurry and indecision.

Just for today: I will have a quiet half hour all to myself, and relax. During this half hour, some time, I will try and get a better perspective of my life.

Just for today: I will be unafraid, especially I will not be afraid to enjoy what is beautiful, and to believe that as I give to the world, so the world will give to me.

Attitude, perception and experience

The world is a nice place. Is it vitally important to be aware of this. The world is interesting, forgiving, and has constant opportunities. It is important to be happy as and where you are, because with a clear perspective you should be. Awareness of the opportunities you have in the present moment may take a little practice. Sometimes God's plan for us may require listening.It is important to have this attitude of gratitude ingrained in one's life so that we do not wish to keep pressing the 'off switch' when we erroneously believe the world to be unpleasant. The 'off switch' may manifest in procrastination, displacement activities and addictions.

With a mind that sees pleasure and enjoyment and interest in the world (and the things we may take for granted) happiness is obtained.One should give of one's best and have self-love and self-respect. One should never stress overly over things than cannot be changed, and things that can be changed one should adopt an attitude of relaxed urgency. Stress and panic are not functional commodities. With an attitude of common sense fears are put into perspective and may vanish.

A connection to the Divine is maintained through affirmation. It is important to be truly grateful for everything good in your life, and to really appreciate it. Instead of always wanting something else, truly enjoying where we are and what we have is very liberating, and helps us achieve our goals in life.

At college I learnt Unix and Linux programming, although my jobs
were on Windows systems. I'd very much like to learn LAMP and
so forth. I've programmed a fair bit in C++, and maybe I will learn
java - apparently the differences aren't that much.
