Am 17. Februar 2026 durfte ich mit meinem Label o.hanamono das Lunar New Year in einem außergewöhnlichen Rahmen feiern. An Bord von Spree Fumée entstand ein kuratiertes Erlebnis, das Ikebana, Kulinarik und kulturellen Dialog miteinander in Einklang brachte..

In Kooperation mit der Japan National Tourism Organization und mit exklusiven Goodie Bags des Beauty-Partners LBC Paris wurde dieser Nachmittag zu einem stilvollen Auftakt in das neue Mondjahr. Das Lunar New Year steht traditionell für Erneuerung, Balance und bewusste Ausrichtung. Diese Werte spiegeln sich auch in der japanischen Kunst des Ikebana wider. Ikebana bedeutet nicht Fülle, sondern Reduktion. Nicht Dekoration, sondern Dialog zwischen Linie, Raum und Material. Genau dieser Ansatz prägte den Workshop an Bord der Spree Fumée.

Der Workshop begann mit einer Einführung in die Philosophie und Geschichte des Ikebana. Mir war wichtig, nicht nur Techniken zu vermitteln, sondern auch kulturelle Zusammenhänge verständlich zu machen. Schritt für Schritt entstanden individuelle Arrangements, die jeweils eine persönliche Interpretation des Neubeginns darstellten.

Kulinarisch wurde das Erlebnis durch einen sorgfältig komponierten Bento Lunch ergänzt. Das Lunchkonzept fügte sich harmonisch in den Nachmittag ein und unterstrich den Anspruch, Genuss und Achtsamkeit miteinander zu verbinden. Ein warmes Getränk rundete das Menü ab und verlieh dem Setting zusätzliche Wärme. Die Zusammenarbeit mit der Japan National Tourism Organization brachte eine weitere kulturelle Ebene in das Event. Als Erinnerung an diesen besonderen Jahresauftakt erhielten alle Gäste einen JNTO Kalender, der mit Impressionen aus Japan inspirierte und die Verbindung zur japanischen Ästhetik vertiefte. Diese Kooperation war für mich ein wertvolles Zeichen für interkulturellen Austausch und nachhaltige kulturelle Bildung.

Ein besonderes Highlight stellten die exklusiven Goodie Bags von LBC Paris dar. Die Skincare Marke steht für innovative Formulierungen, wissenschaftliche Expertise und einen klaren ästhetischen Anspruch. Die ausgewählten Produkte ergänzten das Thema Neubeginn auf elegante Weise und luden dazu ein, das Lunar New Year auch im Alltag mit bewussten Self Care Ritualen fortzuführen.

Rückblickend war dieses Lunar New Year Event ein Beispiel dafür, wie zeitgenössische Ikebana Kunst in Berlin neu interpretiert werden kann. Die Verbindung aus kultureller Tiefe, ästhetischem Anspruch und sorgfältig kuratierten Partnerschaften machte den 17. Februar 2026 zu einem besonderen Datum im o.hanamono Kalender. Für mich war es nicht nur ein Workshop, sondern ein bewusst gestalteter Raum, in dem Tradition und Moderne in einen inspirierenden Dialog traten.

Returning to Suiran, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Kyoto, for my third visit felt like returning to a place that holds both familiarity and discovery. Time seems to move differently here, guided by the rhythm of the Hozu River and the quiet beauty of Arashiyama, one of Kyoto’s most beloved districts..

The history of Suiran reaches back centuries. Originally built as a private riverside residence, the property was designed to embrace the flow of the river and the surrounding gardens. Over time it evolved, carrying traces of its noble past into the present, until it became part of The Luxury Collection by Marriott. On my second stay at The Hotel Seiryu Kyoto Kiyomizu, the city still carried the warmth of late summer, yet subtle signs of autumn were already emerging. The evenings grew cooler, the first maple leaves began to turn and Kyoto seemed to quietly prepare for its most enchanting season. This transition from summer to autumn made my experience even more profound, blending the vibrant energy of late summer with the contemplative beauty of fall. A Historic School Transformed into a Luxury Hotel. Originally built in 1933 as Kiyomizu Elementary School, the building has been thoughtfully reimagined as a luxury hotel that combines historic charm with modern elegance. Walking through its corridors one feels both nostalgia and sophistication, a unique connection to Kyoto’s cultural narrative.

The transformation pays homage to its history. High ceilings, wide hallways and carefully preserved architectural elements create a unique atmosphere. Guests can even find an archive corner that displays photographs and documents from the time when the building was still a school, further enhancing the feeling of continuity and authenticity.

Situated in Kyoto’s historic Higashiyama district, the hotel offers quiet exclusivity while remaining just a short walk from Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka. Guests can enjoy seasonal walks among shrines, gardens and narrow lanes without the bustle of crowded tourist zones. From the hotel’s terrace and lounge one can admire the Yasaka Pagoda rising above the autumn foliage, a view that changes beautifully throughout the day as the light shifts from dawn to dusk.

Wellness Highlight: Exclusive Temple Yoga at Ryōsoku-in. A defining feature of my stay was the exclusive yoga session at Ryōsoku-in Temple, offered only to Seiryu guests. Ryōsoku-in, part of the Rinzai Zen tradition, is a hidden temple in Kyoto renowned for its calm Zen gardens and meditation practices. Arriving there early in the morning felt like stepping into a sacred world. The cool air carried the scent of moss and stone, the temple grounds were wrapped in quiet and the first rays of sunlight filtered gently through sliding doors. The practice was guided with mindful precision, each movement designed to harmonize body, breath and environment. The rustle of leaves, the sound of birds awakening and the stillness of the Zen garden amplified the meditative atmosphere. It was not merely a yoga class but a spiritual immersion into Kyoto’s rhythm, a moment where wellness and cultural tradition intertwined.

This program, officially launching in October, reflects the hotel’s growing commitment to wellness and mindfulness. Experiencing it during the early trial period felt intimate and deeply personal, a reminder that wellness can be both grounding and transformative when practiced in such an inspiring setting.

Private Onsen and Spa Indulgence. The hotel also offers a private onsen experience designed as a retreat within a retreat. There are several distinct bath spaces, each with its own aesthetic identity, high ceilings and an open, spacious feel. The design encourages a sense of release. Warm lighting, natural materials and soothing water combine to create an atmosphere of calm. Hand towels, amenities and thoughtful details are prepared for each guest, allowing you to enter the bath without distraction.

Time here flows differently. Whether in the quiet of morning or the stillness of evening, the private bath becomes a sanctuary where the outside world fades away. Surrounded by subtle hints of nature, including glimpses of seasonal foliage, I felt completely renewed after each session.

Culinary Excellence with a Seasonal View. Throughout the day, the lounge offers seasonal sweets, light snacks and drinks, while evenings bring a refined atmosphere with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. The large glass walls create a sense of openness and connection to the cityscape, making it a space for both quiet indulgence and social enjoyment.

Rooms: Elegance and Tranquility. My room combined minimalist Japanese aesthetics with modern comfort. Large windows framed the first signs of autumn, while natural light illuminated a serene and calming interior. It was finally time. My very first Ikebana workshop with o.hanamono at The Dawn, the rooftop restaurant of Bikini Berlin. Twenty selected influencers had accepted my invitation to experience something both new and ancient, the art of Ikebana..

For me, this moment was not only about teaching a craft. It marked the beginning of a dream I had carried for many years. o.hanamono is my way of sharing Ikebana with the world, offering workshops, events, and curated tools that celebrate the timeless beauty of flowers and the quiet strength of Japanese aesthetics.

Ikebana, which translates as “living flowers,” is the Japanese art of floral arrangement. Its history can be traced back more than a thousand years, beginning with offerings of flowers placed at Buddhist temples. Over time, this practice grew into a refined art form guided by different schools such as Ikenobō, Ohara, and later the more contemporary Sōgetsu school. Ikebana is not simply decoration. It is a way of creating meaning through line, form, and space. Unlike many Western styles, which often highlight abundance, Ikebana emphasizes restraint and precision. Every element has a role, and even empty space becomes part of the composition. Each arrangement is a reflection of both nature and the arranger, a balance between what is seen and what is left unsaid.

To practice Ikebana is to slow down. It is to notice the curve of a branch, the angle of a stem, the fleeting bloom of a flower. It is a form of mindfulness and an invitation to see the world with quiet attention. My own journey with Ikebana began many years ago with fascination for Japan, its aesthetics, and its reverence for simplicity. At first it was a passion, then a practice, and eventually it became clear that this was my path.

o.hanamono, written お花物, means “flower things.” It is both a name and a philosophy. The project is my way of opening a space where people can encounter Ikebana in a setting that feels modern, elegant, and accessible. Through workshops, events, and gatherings, I invite others to experience the stillness and inspiration that Ikebana can bring. It is not only about flowers. It is about remembering how to feel.

The Dawn Restaurant provided the perfect stage for this first chapter of o.hanamono. Located on the rooftop of Bikini Berlin, it offers panoramic views and a setting that feels both vibrant and serene. On that morning, the atmosphere was filled with anticipation. My guests arrived to find tables prepared with fresh materials, each place waiting for its own creation. I began with an introduction to Ikebana, explaining its history and philosophy. Then I guided the participants step by step as they arranged their own pieces. What emerged was remarkable. No two arrangements were alike. Some were minimal and delicate, others bold and expressive, yet each carried the unmistakable voice of its creator. This is the essence of Ikebana. It does not demand uniformity. It celebrates individuality while honoring nature.

The culinary element added to the experience. The Dawn served refreshing iced matcha and their signature pancakes, a pairing that was as photogenic as it was delicious. Just like Ikebana, it reflected harmony, a balance between indulgence and simplicity.

During the event, the influencers had the chance to try the products directly at their tables. Later, each guest received a thoughtfully curated goodie bag filled with skincare, self-care, and treats to take home.

This first workshop was only the beginning. With o.hanamono, I am curating experiences that go beyond technique. Each workshop is an invitation to slow down, to create, and to connect. Sessions are intimate and exclusive, suitable for complete beginners as well as those who already have experience with Ikebana. Workshops can be booked privately or as part of larger events. One of the next opportunities will be on November 14, 2025 in Berlin, where I will host another evening of Ikebana in collaboration with a unique restaurant. Guests will receive all the flowers and materials they need to create their own arrangement. As o.hanamono grows, I look forward to welcoming more people into this space, whether through workshops, retreats, or artistic collaborations. The ship is large and comfortable, with spacious cabins and a variety of seating options, including a Business Lounge that offers passengers a quiet and exclusive space with comfortable seating, complimentary snacks, drinks, and priority boarding. Tallinn, with its blend of medieval history and modern culture, left a lasting impression. During my stay, I visited one of Tallink’s own hotels, where I experienced a different kind of hospitality focused on wellness and rejuvenation. Choosing between a city center location and a spa retreat added a personal touch to the stay, allowing me to unwind after exploring the city’s rich history.

The following day was dedicated to immersing myself in the local culture, from wandering the cobblestone streets to savoring Estonian cuisine. The slower pace of traveling by sea and spending more time in each location gave me a fresh perspective on what travel can be. Less about speed and more about experiencing the moment.

During my stop in Tallinn on Friday, I visited Fotografiska Tallinn, one of the city’s most inspiring cultural spaces. Located in the heart of the Telliskivi Creative City, this contemporary photography museum offers a powerful blend of art, culture, and social impact. What made the experience even more special is that the museum is open until midnight on Fridays, giving visitors a rare opportunity to explore its thought-provoking exhibitions in a unique and peaceful nighttime setting.

Tallinn is a truly beautiful city. Tallinn is romantic, compact, and incredibly easy to explore on foot. Strolling through its charming streets, I was surrounded by a stunning mix of medieval and modern architecture, vibrant facades, and cozy hidden corners. The city's atmosphere is effortlessly inviting, with a quiet elegance that encourages slow travel and spontaneous discovery. I couldn’t help but take countless photos, trying to capture the romantic essence of this captivating city.

On a spontaneous whim, I decided to take a day trip to Riga from Tallinn, catching the earliest bus departing right from the harbor, ironically just steps away from where I had arrived by ferry. The journey takes about 4.5 hours, and with multiple operators available, I chose FlixBus for its flexible schedule and wide range of departure times. The ride was surprisingly comfortable, with spacious seating and power outlets at every seat, which was perfect for recharging devices.

I arrived in Riga in the morning and headed straight to Hotel Riga by Tallink. The hotel welcomed me with a warm atmosphere and a delicious breakfast, which was just what I needed after the early bus ride. I also had the chance to enjoy the wellness area, which includes a sauna and jacuzzi, offering a perfect moment of calm and rejuvenation. Although the hotel was fully booked, I was given a room tour and got to see a small but representative selection of rooms. It was enough to get an impression of the design and comfort the hotel offers. After a few relaxing hours, I made my way back to Tallinn for one more night in the city.

Tallink Hotel Riga is a modern, eco-certified hotel located just 500 meters from Riga’s Old Town. Opened in 2010, it offers 256 comfortable rooms ranging from singles to suites. Back in Tallinn, the city was buzzing with energy due to several events happening that weekend. After waking up the next morning, I visited the Tallink City Hotel and I was genuinely surprised by its modern and stylish atmosphere. The design struck a perfect balance between elegance and comfort, with clean lines and thoughtful details throughout the space.

I had the chance to tour one of the rooms, which was bright and beautifully designed, featuring high-quality Rituals products that reflect the hotel’s commitment to comfort and style. Downstairs, a generous breakfast buffet was being served, and on weekends, guests can also enjoy an extended brunch—perfect for a slow and indulgent start to the day.

Tallink operates three distinct hotels in Tallinn, each offering a unique experience for different types of travelers. Tallink City Hotel stands out for its modern design and central location, perfect for those who want to explore the city on foot. Tallink Spa & Conference Hotel, located near the harbor, combines wellness and business, featuring a large Aqua Spa with saunas and pools—ideal for relaxation after a day of sightseeing or meetings. Lastly, Tallink Express Hotel offers a more budget-friendly option without compromising on comfort, making it a great choice for families or short city breaks. Each hotel reflects the brand’s commitment to quality, service, and thoughtful hospitality.

For the trip departing from Tallinn, I traveled aboard the new, modern ship MyStar. Just like on my first trip arriving in Tallinn, I booked access to the Business Lounge, which really enhanced the experience. The ship itself is quite large and welcoming, accommodating many passengers while still offering a great sense of privacy and comfort. The Business Lounge provided an exclusive buffet and a quiet retreat away from the busy main areas, making the early boarding and embarkation process smooth and relaxing. Traveling in this way felt like a perfect blend of luxury and convenience on the Baltic Sea.

I thoroughly enjoyed the view from MyStar and could really feel the difference that comes with a brand-new ship. Although the crossing only takes about two hours, the time flew by as I relaxed and soaked in the luxurious atmosphere. This was by far my favorite cruise of the trip, thanks to the elegant amenities like Jo Malone products in the washrooms, which added a special touch of indulgence. Every detail on MyStar reflected modern comfort and sophistication, making the short journey feel truly memorable.

The Tallink Silja MyStar is the newest and most modern ship in the Tallink fleet, operating the popular Helsinki to Tallinn route. Launched in late 2022, this impressive vessel combines eco-friendly technology with sleek design, offering a fast and comfortable two-hour crossing. The ship can carry up to 2,800 passengers and features 47 cabins for overnight travelers. Onboard, guests enjoy a wide range of amenities including diverse dining options, a large duty-free shop, and multiple lounges. I booked the Business Lounge on MyStar again.

After a smooth two-hour crossing, I arrived in Helsinki and continued my journey by bus to Turku, with a convenient connection to Naantali. I was headed for a three-night stay at the Naantali Hotel & Spa, a true landmark in the region and famously known as the home of the beloved Moomin characters.

Naantali, known as "Sunshine Town" is a quaint and charming town on Finland’s southwestern coast, beloved for its vibrant marina, colorful wooden houses, and lovely seaside promenades. The town’s relaxed pace and natural beauty make it an ideal destination for travelers seeking tranquility combined with cultural charm. The Naantali Hotel & Spa perfectly captures this atmosphere, offering guests a blend of warm hospitality and modern luxury. With its extensive wellness facilities, including multiple saunas and a heated outdoor pool, the hotel is designed for complete relaxation. Its location close to the town center means guests can easily explore local cafes, galleries, and shops before retreating to a comfortable room with tasteful Nordic decor. The hotel’s focus on sustainable practices also fits well with the region’s eco-conscious vibe. After a three-day stay soaking in Naantali’s unique charm, I was ready to continue my trip with the cruise from Turku to Stockholm, bringing my journey full circle. My last evening was spent on the overnight ferry from Turku back to Stockholm. This final cruise felt like a farewell celebration, complete with onboard entertainment and a cozy cabin to rest before arriving in Sweden the next morning.

During the overnight cruise, I didn’t do much besides enjoying the grand buffet restaurant in the evening, which offered a fantastic variety of dishes to satisfy every craving. I also woke up early since the ship arrived at 6:10 in the morning. This ship stood out with its unique style—featuring strong colors and a fresh, minimalistic design. I particularly liked the round-shaped window, which made falling asleep while watching the passing scenery a truly calming experience.

For my final day in Stockholm, I made the most of the city’s vibrant atmosphere and diverse culinary scene. One highlight was visiting Hermans, a popular all-you-can-eat vegan buffet known for its fresh, wholesome dishes and stunning views over the water. The restaurant’s motto, “Give Peas a Chance,” perfectly captures its playful spirit and commitment to delicious, plant-based food. It was the perfect way to enjoy a healthy and satisfying meal while soaking in the city’s charm.

My final stop in Stockholm was Fotografiska, the city’s renowned contemporary photography museum, conveniently located just a short walk from Hermans restaurant. I was absolutely fascinated by the exhibition TOILETPAPER, known for its bold, surreal, and often humorous images that challenge conventional perspectives. The striking visuals and creative storytelling made it a memorable experience, perfectly capping off my journey. Fotografiska’s vibrant atmosphere and unique exhibitions continue to make it a must-visit cultural hotspot in Stockholm.

Though the Moomin World park was closed during my visit, the town had already worked its magic on me through nature, serenity, and an unforgettable stay at the Naantali Spa Hotel. This trip marked my very first time in Finland, and I can now say with certainty, it was worth every moment.

Welcome to Naantali Spa: A Coastal Retreat for the Senses. Naantali Spa Hotel is located right by the Baltic Sea, blending elegant Scandinavian design with a warmth that immediately puts you at ease. Upon arrival, I was welcomed by the gentle sea breeze, the scent of blooming flowers in the air, and the subtle song of birds echoing through a nearby forest. Despite being just 20 minutes from the city of Turku, Naantali feels like a world apart, like a page out of a fairy tale.

The hotel itself is a destination. With a long-standing reputation for wellness and relaxation, the spa has been awarded multiple times, and it didn’t take long to see why. Ich habe bereits viele Facials getestet und war sehr überrascht von der Wirkung und der Behandlung an sich. Abhängig vom ausgewählten Stempel, kann man unterschiedliche Ergebnisse erzielen. Von Entspannung zu Zellregenerierung, aber auch weiteren Effekten, ist alles dabei. Weitere Wellnessangebote umfassen Kräuterstempelmassagen (auch für den Körper) mit regionalen Kräutern, wohltuende Heubäder mit hauseigenem Bergheu und Packungen im Rahmen der Schrothkur.
