A love story, a pre-apocalyptic story and a story near my Couch pad -- Miracle Mile was a movie I always rented from the Video Store in Forest Hills on 108th Street during the 80's because it blew my mind.

This week I shall write about the Praetorian Media and how we are falling our way back to the 70's (sans Cold War).

Also reforming the Three Republican institutions: RNC, CAGOP and RPLAC -- how to make them stronger as we enter the Congressional cycle. Hint: Bloggers are the key.

And attacking the Zombie of the American Ancient Regime (or, the modern Henri Louis de Rohan), Charles Pierce.

Taylor Marsh and Charles Pierce: Praetorians for the New Nixon but Still Hating the Old Nixon

When we on the Right talk of Media Praetorians of Democrats and President Obama, one need only look at Taylor Marsh and Charles Pierce.

For all the talk about Fox and "talk radio," these organizations go in the opposite directions and speak "Truth to Power." when the POTUS is a Democrat.

Old Nixon and the Press

Taylor Marsh's only job is to protect Democrats and Former Secretary of State Clinton; Charles Pierce's platform, Esquire, is not to investigate whomever is in office, but to show love and affection for every Democrat.

Let's rewind to the Old Nixon and see what he was in trouble for:

Having partisans record their opponents;

and Article 2, section 1 of Nixon's Impeachment:

He has, acting personally and through his subordinates and agents, endeavoured to obtain from the Internal Revenue Service, in violation of the constitutional rights of citizens, confidential information contained in income tax returns for purposed not authorized by law, and to cause, in violation of the constitutional rights of citizens, income tax audits or other income tax investigations to be intitiated or conducted in a discriminatory manner.

Here is Taylor Marsh on Old Nixon:

Nixon’s statement about executive illegality above has turned out to be the bedrock of the modern presidency, unless of course sex is involved.

First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton fought for her husband’s presidency and her actions were seminal in saving it, which I cover in the history of Hillary’s rise in my book The Hillary Effect, as Democrats in Congress grew antsy over the deplorable conduct of their party leader and president. But whatever people thought of President Bill Clinton’s scandalously stupid actions with the intern Monica Lewinsky, Mrs. Clinton knew they didn’t come close to meeting the bar of impeachment that even Nixon escaped, and the public agreed. Clinton should have been censured for his actions, while impeachment, especially looking at the Nixon or Reagan litmus tests, was absurd.
Richard M. Nixon ducked impeachment by being the only president in U.S. history to resign.

Now let's see Charlie Pierce on Old Nixon:

If he were still alive, and the existence of god thereby utterly disproved in a huge and public way, this would have been Richard Nixon's 100th birthday. It is the 40th anniversary of the first turning of the year since burglars in his employ broke into the offices of the Democratic National Committee, requiring him to engage all the power and majesty of the presidency to cover up their crimes. Yesterday was the 40th anniversary of the guilty pleas of two of those burglars, Gordon Liddy and James McCord. If there had been any justice served in 1974, this would be the 29th anniversary of Nixon's having finished his 10-year bid in the federal slam for obstruction of justice and conspiracy to obstruct justice.

(And, not for nothing, but last December 18th was the 40th anniversary of the "Christmas bombing" of Hanoi and Haiphong, in which United States warplanes dropped 20,000 tons of bombs and killed almost 2,000 Vietnamese people. And this is what was said about that by Henry Kissinger, who I think is possibly even less excusable a human being than Nixon: "We bombed the North Vietnamese into accepting our concessions." The world went mad back then and, when it did, Nixon was there, waiting in the shadows to take advantage of it.)

Both posts written about the Late President Nixon were written January 9th of this year. The Hate of the Left outlasts their "enemies,"

Here is what Marsh said in her comments over Benghazi:

Who said it doesn’t matter? Who said it wasn’t a major screw up?

What you & Republicans are missing is that the Benghazi talking points AFTER THE EVENT itself, while stupid & should have stated clearly it was a terrorist attack, didn’t lead to or cause the death of anyone.

People have a right to be upset about the political spin, but it didn’t cause one death.
Republicans are whipping people up overrewrites that matter,but won’t solve a thing.

They are hoping to derail Obama & drag down his 2nd term, while also wrestling their foreign policy failures during Bush back from Dems.

I’m just not going to help them do it, because including terrorist attack in talking points, which should have been done, would not have saved one life.

That is what Clinton meant when she said “What difference does it make?”

Thus, the bolded, large words means, if the "Truth," of Benghazi leads Marsh to make alliances with Rove and Republicans, she would not do it. These are words of Praetorians, not Truth seekers.

The New Nixon and the Modern Praetorians

If the Media and Liberals were serious about holding President Obama's feet to the flames over foreign policy, where were the protests during 2012? Where was the Primary opposition? For all the talk about Gitmo, the drones and everything else between 2001 - 2008, most of the partisans of the press lied to the public.

Taylor Marsh and Charles Pierce are happy being puppets for this Administration and other Democrats.

Marsh on McConnell:

THERE ARE denials all around in the Mitch McConnell tape scandal, but thefinger pointing is all going one place. People associated with or formerlyassociated with Progress Kentucky are in the crosshairs, with one officialresigning, while the F.B.I. continues their investigation.

Buzzfeed got to some of the players, as well as those impacted. It seemsthat the beneficiary of the fallout is Senator Mitch McConnell at this point.

If the leakers of the tape wanted it to hurt McConnell, their planbackfired. McConnell raised money off his claim that he had been the victim of“Nixonian” tactics, and generally fomented conservative support with hisoutrage-based spin strategy after the tape came to light. Now that it lookslike McConnell might be proven right about the origins of the tape, it’s likelyhe’ll get even more mileage out of Progress Kentucky. – The Disastrous CollapseOf Kentucky’s Least Effective Liberal Group

But this event making him into a sympathetic character?

Kentucky Democrats aren’t ready to say Progress Kentucky has helped McConnell, but national Democratic observers have their jaws on the floor as they watch the group turn McConnell into a sympathetic figure, generating good headlines for him time and again.

Sorry, but that characterization I just do not buy.

Now, let's see good ol' Charlie Pierce support McConnell (That would require principles!)/ Sarcasm alert!

Hold on a second there, terrapin head. I consider myself one of the curators of that most precious of all political pejoratives — "Nixonian." Taping is not "Nixonian" unless it is part of a campaign led by White House aides at the order of the president, and unless it involves using parts of the federal intelligence apparatus to confound the investigative agencies of the federal law enforcement apparatus, and unless the person who seeks to benefit from it is the president of the United States. What it sounds like happened here is that you invited someone to a staff meeting who taped your people as they discussed the pre-emptive ratfking, and you got ratfked in return. Nixon would laugh at your outrage.

Thus, taping of a candidate (especially an opposition to the Party of the White House) is not Nixonion. See these two members of the Press said so!

If you believe Marsh and Pierce, there is a used bridge I'd like to sell you.

President Nixon used the IRS to oppose groups who opposed him outside the White House, how will Pierce and taylor thread the needle?

In case you were wondering, now that we're re-enacting Whitewater, whether or not we can be seeing a reprise of Filegate and Travelgate, and several of the other minor Clinton-era obsessions, wonder no more.

NOTHING

So, if you involved with a Tea Party group throughout 2009 - 12 and got questions like these (Read them here, then come back to the Valley)

There are questions about familes, contacts and other non-related things with the whole purpose to silence the opposition by the Right.

Here's a hint: If you are defending actions you decried over 20 years ago,
A) You are a hack;
B) You have no principles and
C) Instant Karma will get you when the Parties switch positions.

MY question: Why do Taylor Marsh and Charles Pierce support things done by a Democrat that they opposed done by a Republican?

***And I say, if Nixon was impeached for it, it is still wrong today. Consistency -- learn it!

Lost on the USM Auriega: Democrats Lack of a Foreign Policy

America, in her 237 years, has only lost 8 Ambassadors.

Before Ambassador Stevens lost his life in Benghazi; the last Ambassador to lose his life was over a plane crash in Pakistan. During the Carter era, Ambassador Dubs died in Afghanistan in 1979 by an attack on the Embassy.

Do you see a trend? Because I do.


USM Auriega, before the fun starts (Alien:Resurrection)

On 9/11/12, the Benghazi Consulate was attacked -- 2012 being an election year, it was pushed aside. Even during a Major Presidential debate by Moderator Candy Crowley of CNN:

As a partisan, I hope the Media speaks "Truth to Power," WHOMEVER is in office, however, thanks to the Media's mythical love of "Camelot" and Democrats, Benghazi was pushed back towards this week.

The news of "what really happened," at the Benghazi Consulate came out through Twitter and Congressional Subpoenas.

Now, add President Obama's flip-flopping on Gitmo and Syria, and then add Democratic partisan silence on Drone attacks and non-congressional authorization on Libya, what do you have?

The Democratic Party from President Obama on down to lowest House Foreign Relations Committee Members trapped by their own rhetoric.

Let me explain, no let me sum up:

After 200 years, on the USM Auriega, General Perez (Dan Hedaya) and Dr Wren (J.F. Freeman) brought back Ripley and the Xenomorph through cloning. They studied one not so carefully (the Ripley 8 Clone) and the Xenomorph's they had no clue. When the Aliens escaped, the crew of the USM Auriega died.

It was Ripley and the ragtag group that tried made it back back to the Betty, a ship (and crew) not unlike the Firefly. (Joss Whedon wrote the screen play).

Because the crew of the USM Auriega thought they knew better, the Xenomorph's escaped.

Now how does that equal to the Democrat's foreign policy?

Like the ragtag group, the Democrats are trying to find their way in the dark of Foreign Policy in a corner they painted for themselves, while Xenomorphs are coming out of their holes.

How?

1) Even though President Bush was following in the footsteps of FDR, Truman and JFK when it came to Wilsonianism and American Exceptionalism (whereas his father followed Nixonian foreign policy), the Democrats, supposedly supporters of "Free people" around the world opposed every step of Bush's progress in Iraq.

2) ANSWER (was it funded by the Democrats and the Obama campaign?) had protests everywhere saying the true fight was in Afghanistan without understanding its history. Come a Democratic Administration, ANSWER, the war protesters are silent about the lives and tactics used in Pakistan and Afghanistan. (**This is for Rep. Issa)

3) Gitmo -- closed, open, there are no Democrats keeping their Leader under fire for not keeping his promises. They were lying during the Bush Administration.

4) The Middle East falls apart because Democrats do not fight back when our Ambassadors (only 8!) are killed or Embassies attacked. We have shown our weakness. The Xenomorphs are coming for us in the foreign policy realm.

5) What do Democrats stand for in Foreign Policy? All the sturm und drang during the Bush Administration by Democrats and their allies is equalled only by their silence during the current one.

Let us remember what Secretary of State Clinton said after the attacks:

Ambassador Steven and three others lost their lives in Benghazi because Democrats and President Obama have no foreign policy other then to oppose Republican Foreign Policy.

5 Living Presidents (and others)

I might be a full blooded partisan, but I call myself a quiet patriot.

If you are involved in the day to day of Politics (understanding its pragmatics, not just playing the ideology game), then I salute you.

Next to Halloween (the Goth in me), July 4th is my favorite holiday (And in the Jewish realm, I love Passover!).

When I was growing up in the 70's, the mantra was "Change the system from the inside," That's what I do.

Protests and causing scenes work in a limited sense, but Politics has its own protocols that last all the way back from when the First Caveman went up the hill and looked over his Tribesmen and said "Follow me!"

In America, the greatest respect we can give an elected official is make them President. The Greatest respect I can give is to say, "G-d bless these Gentlemen! And G-d Bless America!"

When you follow the news, sometimes its the unexpected that sucks the air out of a room.

At the end of the Boston Marathon, a few Democratic Memes seemed to have fallen, making President Obama second term slowly inching towards a Nixonian (or President Carter) morass.

The Culture Changes, so does the Meme.

Here are the Democratic Memes that changed After Boston:

A) Before Boston....Benghazi means nothing; The War on Terror is Over
After Boston....The Brothers went after America because of the continuing wars;

B) Before Boston...the new Immigration bill will make things better,
After Boston...If we brought the bombers in under the same circumstance, how many others will do the same? The Immigration Bill now comes to a halt;

C) Before Boston...the Gun issue was the Main issue of the Obama Administration;
After Boston....the Senate couldn't pass a Bill with the President's support.

But there are some lingering questions:

Did the President read his PDB before the Boston Bombing?

The Democrats never stood by President George W. Bush during the Iraq re-building, hence the doubt over President Obma's foreign policy meme;

Have the Democrats ever thought of the consequences of some issues (and tactics) they use?

And finally,

After its proven the Memes are false, why do they continue to ride with it?

My question: Why should anyone trust the Democrats Propaganda?

How President Obama Lost the Game of Thrones

Yes, I'm addicted to the show Game of Thrones. No, I haven't read the books yet. (I am reading The Grid by Phillip Kerr then the Alan Dean Foster books of the Alien Series).

The best Presidents and Leaders of Congress understand "how the game is played," Unfortunately, President Obama is not one of them.

I'm sure he's a nice guy, but the Game of Thrones is not about the Battle, but about the Governance. And if he couldn't get a "Gun Rights," bill passed, its not the GOP's fault -- the Democrats have to look into thine own eyes here.

By the way, the world does not run by polls but by Leadership. Polls were useless in the Presidential Elections of 2004 and 2012, so I tend to tune them out.

The vote on the Amendment (not a Bill) was 54-46.

The baseline for the vote, starts, not with the NRA, but with a few lines in the Bill of Rights:

Amendment II
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

The Bold is where the debate is. We have a well-regulated militia known as the US Military (Thanks to all who serve!). But when it comes to Residential and commercial owners of guns, in the end, I'm a city kid.

My views are pretty simple when it comes to persons owning (legal) guns:

1) No domestic violence or felonies in your background;
2) No violent type of Mental health (schizophrenia and my bi-polar fit into this category); and
3) There are places where the light of civilization does not shine. People should be safe in their homes before police arrive. In the cities, they move quicker.

Here are the reasons President Obama failed: (A hint, look at one post on the sidebar-->)

1) President Obama is still unskilled at coalition building. To win, sometimes you must let the opposition "save face," To President Obama, that was not good enough. Hence, the loss of the Amendment;

2) Policy is about give and take behind closed doors. Was President Obama going to offer something on the Budget or Sequestration side to help pass this bill? NO. He doesn't know how to negotiate.

3) That act with Progress Kentucky and Senator McConnell: Do you think he would back President Obama on anything after it was discovered?

3A) The disrespect of not sending anyone to the funeral of the Late PM Thatcher. Respect for the dead in Politics must go both ways. President Obama made sure President Chavez (no friend of the Jews) was mourned while Thatcher was ignored.

It's a question weather President Obama is King Joffrey Baratheon or Lord Stannis Baratheon; In my case, I'd trust a Tyrion Lannister or Bronn to work in the People's House (closed to tours).

My question: After Five years, why can't President Obama and his Partisans remember how they acted during the last Administration and own up to the hard feelings still felt by the Right?

(1) Any statewide presidential preference vote that permits a choice among candidates for the Republican nomination for President of the United States in a primary, caucuses, or a state convention must be used to allocate and bind the state’s delegation to the national convention in either a proportional or winner-take-all manner, except for delegates and alternate delegates who appear on a ballot in a statewide election and are elected directly by primary voters.

(2) For any manner of binding or allocating delegates under these

rules, if a delegate (i) casts a vote for a presidential candidate at the

national convention inconsistent with the delegate’s obligation under state law or state party rule, (ii) nominates or demonstrates support under Rule No. 40

for a presidential candidate other than the one to whom the delegate is bound or allocated under state law or state party rule, or (iii) fails in some other way to carry out the delegate’s affirmative duty under state law or state party rule to cast a vote at the national convention for a particular presidential candidate, the delegate shall be deemed to have concurrently resigned as a delegate and the delegate’s improper vote or nomination shall be null and void.

Thereafter the secretary of the convention shall record the delegate’s vote or

Outside of the legalese, it meant that the winning Presidential nominee (and incumbent, if they win their first term) can pick and choose delegates rather then allow their own states to do so.

A big shout out to Shawn Steel and Morton Blackwell for fighting against these rules.

The Romney (actually submitted by Ben Ginsberg as proxy) rules tried to take the power away from the State Parties and centralize it in DC.

There are ways of improving the Republican party -- those will be addressed in a post sometime tomorrow. But State Parties must triumph over National (and sometimes POTUS Consultants).

Yesterday, David Corn thought it was fine to release a private conversation within Senator McConnell's campaign office.

Hmmm....I also remember this illegal taping in the 90's of Speaker Gingrich. Because it benefited the Democrats, no one said it was wrong. (That requires....principles).

It seems that modern Democrats like secret wars and enemies lists. The only Lefty Blogger who got it was Steve M. and I quote:

The Rules that the Romney people made at the Republican Convention last year? They are under fire. It is time for the Local Activists to take back the RNC.

Earlier today, a Giant in World Politics passed away.

PM Thatcher, like PM Meir, were the first women to run Western Countries.

I won't discuss the actions of some today, but I will say that I speak no ill of the Political Dead, even if i disagree with their policies.

News from the Sepulveda Pass

Because Los Angeles is so big, between the desert in the North, the water to the west and the City to the East, (and Valleys throughout), some stories have a hard time getting through.

After the Rush Hour, a body found on the Sepulveda Pass outside the tunnel coming South from Ventura Boulevard. After that, a rumor of police and gang fights further South, close to Mulholland Drive.

And tonight, news of the pass being closed down.

Hmmm....

Then why was the National Guard, DHS and the CDC called in?

Dare I use the Z word?

If they are shutting down the pass at midnight, what is next? I think its time to use the Zombie word.

Sequestration? No, This is Fight Club!

There is a great speech by Tyler Durdan about men's drifting Life. yet, it parallels how President Obama and the Democrats have (not) leading the country leading the country.

Follow along please:

Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off.

(This was done before 9/11, but the rules apply in this Age of Contraction)

The Democrats have been treating their Constituents (and the rest of us) as Durden's "Middle Children of History," Shutting the people's House to tours? Playing games instead of doing their jobs?

Time to follow the rules.

And now, the Rules of Fight Club before I explain the Rules Senators and Presidents must follow:

The Rules of Budgets for Democrats (that the Tea Party and GOP Members Follow)

Sequestration is not new in American Budgets. Look up Gramm-Rudman-Hollings.

President Bush pere and the (Democratic) Congress' of 1989 and 1991 followed the rules, yet it seems that this current crop seems to have forgotten.

So, what are these weird and crazy rules? (taken from Congress for Dummies, please send Senator Reid and President Obama a copy of page 123)

First Rule of Budgets is the President submits his Budget on or before the First Monday in February!
(President Obama has been late FOUR times including FY2014)

Second Rule of Budgets is that the President Submits His Budget on or before the First Monday in February!
(This is according to the Budget Act of 1921 and Bush fils followed it just fine)

The Third Rule of Budgets is on February 15th, the CBO publishes their check of the Presidents numbers (Checks and balances);

Fourth Rule of Budgets is both House and Senate Budget Committees develop Budget resolutions in March.In April, they have a Conference Committee (what Senator Reid is afraid of) and by Tax day, the Budget resolution passes both Houses of Congress;

The Fifth Rule of Budgets is the House passes its Appropriation Bills April thru June;

The Sixth Rule of Budgets is the Senate passes June through September;

(Yes, there are 13 Subcommittees, but before President Obama, the process worked just fine)

Seventh Rule Conference Committee all Appropriation Bills and send them to the President;

Eighth and Final Rule: President signs Appropriation Bills (mixed of Congressional and Executive numbers if done right) before the end of the Fiscal year (October 1).

How President Obama and Senator Reid hit Rep. Ryan's Ear

For the first time in 92 years, the House is setting the tone of the Fiscal debate, not the Executive Branch.

Without knowing how much funds were incoming (or outgoing due to the Age of Contraction), the House Budget committee is starting first.

The Sequestration, the last minute battles, and all the drama of the last four years could have been avoided by Senator Reid if he only went into Conference Committee to send Appropriation Bills to President Obama.

No Appropriation Bills; No Budgets; Welcome to Sequestration.

Rep. Ryan has won every time he and the House GOP Submits an Appropriation bill.

His Name is NOT Robert Paulson

Who should you call and complain if your job is on the line?

Call this number first: 202-863-8000 (the DNC) and then this number 202-225-7931 and ask Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, why Democrats in the Executive Branch are late with Budgets that include people's jobs.

Then call these numbers and ask Senator Reid why he hasn't passed any Appropriation bills since FY10:
A) 202-224-3542
B) 702-388-5020

And finally, call 202-456-1414 and ask why President Obama is late with his Budget EVERY YEAR!

My question to you: Why are Democrats afraid of passing budgets and Appropriation Bills in the Age of Obama?

Seven Years Later, The Valley is Still in Style!

Yes, I had a "soft," re-opening.

I took some time away because I could not write. Internal battles are no fun, but this is the time to put them aside and WRITE!

Now, as I wish the Valley a "Happy 7th Birthday!," It's time to strike up the band and show you what is ahead:

As Yours Truly was away, I have studied some of the International scene where the media doesn't look. Stay tuned.

Other places the Valley will go:

1) Local and State battles -- Quote this to your Political friends in the beltway:

"He who controls Los Angeles, Controls California;

He who Controls California, controls the nation!"

Sometimes to help candidates in the basin, sometimes to chastise the (Democratic) majority running this State and City.

2) Fixing the National GOP -- their is a civil war going on. I take the side of the "Local Yokels," What works in the Southeast does not play on Sunset Boulevard or in North Hollywood. Once the Nationals (and others) learn that, the quote above makes sense.

3) I am planning a research gig here in LA -- more news to be discussed later. However, it came from the night I spent helping my Mom at California General. Sponsorships welcome.

4) Sci-fi geek that I am, I will do posts about the Future and how the American polity connects. Dreams are nice, but Reality makes rockets fly. I owe two posts on the American polity and Space Colonies. Soon, my peeps, soon.

5) Countering the myths about the GOP and Democrats. As a former Liberal Democrat, I don't hate the Left; I am just sad about how far their Hate has led them. Ask yourself this: Why has the party of failed haberdashers and teaching school graduates, the so-called "party of the people," followed Orwell's INGSOC rather then Jefferson or Hamilton?

6) Supporting Our Men and Women who work in the Dark and Our Men and Women Ambassadors who work representing America. They are the unsung heroes of the daylight. Email me any leads here.

1) I had an adventure whereby I dealt with Intelligence Agents in the Southland fighting against terrorists. While the Primary election was happening, the battle ended Downtown with the return of Dragons, and a battle between magic and science. Science won.

2) I suffered from a little depression and writers block, so I couldn't write.

I grew up in a New York that was falling apart.

Before Mayor Giuliani came onto the scene, Ed Koch went after the corruption in his own Party, then helped clean up New York City.

Long after their terms have faded away, everyone will remember Giuliani and Koch, not Bloomberg or Dinkins.

Why?

Attitude.

It comes with the food and the activity in the city of my birth. The reason I don't care about social issues comes down to this:

If you can do the job, I don't care about your social life. Period. I don't care about your color, creed, religion or what you did in your past, just get things done -- that was Koch. And that's me today.

Yes, this hard core Conservative Republican, Social Libertarian, Goth from LA will miss the Mayor who made New York a better place.

Mayor Koch, wherever you are -- you did a kick ass job.
