get-rich-quick scheme. At least that is what the people
selling the ultimate get-rich-quick scheme would like you
to believe.

Which one is the 'ultimate'? Well, if you hear them tell
it, theirs is, of course.

"Turn $5 into $50,000,000,000 in 30 days with no effort!"
Did Bill Gates figure out how to condense his lifetime
into 30 days? I doubt that he would say he got where he
is today with no effort.

Are you listening to these guys, or do you REALLY want
to make money on the Internet? Becoming instantly rich
on the Net is about the same as sitting around waiting
for your lottery numbers to hit.

I like to believe that we're smarter than that. We realize
that the only way to truly become successful at anything
requires a lot of hard work, motivation, persistence,
and luck.

Now let me explain each of these points.

Hard work -
This is a no-brainer. You ARE NOT going to be able to turn
on your computer, walk away from it, and expect to end up
with a successful business.

You have to work at it. The more productive work you put
into your website and your marketing efforts, the greater
the rewards.

Notice that I said 'productive' work.

It is easy to spend 20 hours a day on the web and not do
anything constructive for your business. You have to focus
your efforts to make the above statement true.

To put it a different way, if you spend 20 hours a
day adding content to your site, refining the design,
promoting it, testing and retesting to learn what works
and what doesn't, you WILL see the results.

Many websites fail not because the owner didn't work hard
enough, but because he didn't work smart enough.

Motivation -
How do you stay motivated to enable you to survive
the months and months of extremely long days and
nights glued to your monitor?

Is it the lure of having a successful web business
someday?

The idea of eventually being able to quit that job
that you hate?

Believe me you will hit low points, you will get
frustrated, and probably even utter the words "at
this rate I'm never going to make it".

So how do you stay motivated? The above questions can
help, but I think the absolute most important motivator
is to pick a topic that you love. When you are working
on a subject that you totally enjoy the low points will
be far less frequent, and have far less impact on you.

Your mind will be in the places it is supposed to be
instead of constantly watching the bottom line. If you
are trying to create a successful business with something
you have absolutely no interest in...you are setting
yourself up for failure before you even get started.

Think about this idea for a moment. Let it sink in as
to what I'm telling you here. What is your favorite
pass-time? What is your hobby?

Do you get burnt out when you are spending time on

Does a knick-knack fanatic get bored at the world's
largest flea market?

Do sports fans wish football season was much shorter?

If you develop your business around a topic that you love,
that you enjoy spending time on, that you can't wait to get
home and fire up the computer to work on...

motivation becomes a non-issue.

Besides...isn't enjoying what you do one of the key factors
to success? I hate to be the one to break it to you, but
true happiness isn't all about money.

Persistence -
You have to stick with it. You can't quit. Don't lose faith.

There will be bad times, but you have to keep going. You
won't make as much money as you wanted to one month. You
won't get quite as many subscribers or visitors out of
that advertising campaign. The 'killer ad' that you just
knew was going to pull like crazy...won't.

These setbacks are a fact of life. Accept them and deal with
them accordingly. Learn from your mistakes and move on.

If you keep the right attitude during the bad times, the
good times will be that much sweeter.

Luck -
Yep, its going to take a little luck as well. But if you
follow the above guidelines, you can make your own good
luck.

Luck is being in the right place at the right time. Luck
is making the right decision at that crucial moment. Luck
is buying low and selling high. Luck is realizing that you
made a mistake and correcting it right before everything
crashes.

The more knowledgeable you are about your subject matter,
the more time you spend educating yourself about it, the
more you work at becoming an expert in your field, the

Writing for the web is different than any other medium, because people are reading off of a computer screen, which is not the easiest on the eyes!
Web readers also tend to skim content, so the more information you can convey at a quick glance the better.
When you're writing articles you'll use in article marketing, it's a good idea to structure your articles so that they are reader friendly. Both publishers and readers will thank you for it.

Here are 3 simple tricks for making easy-to-read articles:
SUB-HEADINGS
A sub-heading is a way of dividing information in an article. The sub-heading appears on a separate line with a blank space above and below it. At a glance, the reader can see what that section is about.
Here are a few ways to make a sub-heading stand out:
ALL CAPS: Write your sub-heading in all caps, as I've done in this article.
=> Put an arrow before your sub-heading. You can create an arrow with the equals key (=) and the greater than key >.
*Use an asterisk
BITE SIZED PARAGRAPHS
Short paragraphs are just plain easier to read. It helps to have a generous amount of space in between the bits of information you're offering in your article, because it give your reader's eyes a chance to rest.
It's very hard to skim larger paragraphs, so information can be lost, and the reader has to work hard to extract information from your article.
You want to make things as easy as possible on your reader, so keep your paragraphs small. A small paragraph may just be one or two lines, and that's okay.
NUMBERED LISTS
There is a reason why numbered list articles are so hot on the web--they are simply easiest to read. Remember, readers are probably skimming your content, so the more attention you can draw to each point the better.
What could be more obvious than a "STEP #1:" or a "Tip #1" right in front of each point?
Some popular 'numbered list' style articles are:
=> 'How To' articles, where you give a series of numbered steps on how to do something with an explanation under each. For maximum readability, clearly identify each step by putting STEP 1: or 1) or #1.
It also helps to put the step on its own line, and then underneath it put the explanation of the step.
=> A 'Top Tips' list, where usually you take a broader view of a topic and compile a list of facts. Remember, each item should be clearly identified with a number.

Automatic Messages on Twitter

If there is one thing that is annoying about Twitter, it is the fact that people sign up for automatic messages that post on other peoples profiles once they are added as a follower. For instance, the other day, I saw a couple of profiles that I wanted to follow, so I did. A few minutes later, I received what I thought was a direct message (or 'DM' as it is known on Twitter) from the specific person that I had followed. However, once I read the message, I very quickly realized that it was not a personal message sent by the person but, rather it was an automated message that the person had set up when they signed up for Twitter. I later wound up deleting this person.

The whole point of Twitter and/or any other social networking site is so that people can interact with one another and start conversations, engage in conversation, etc. How are you supposed to talk to someone if he or she isn't even there though? There is no staying power in a "conversation" in which the other person is never around or simply cannot afford the time it takes to send you a personal, non-automated message.

Most of the time, you can find people to talk with or argue with on Twitter. The best way to do this is to use the search function to find topics that you are the most interested. So, for instance, if you are an athlete who likes to play soccer, you might type in the term "soccer" and see what comes up. The search results will typically produce a list of Twitter profiles along with the pertinent text to which the item you just searched for is mentioned. From there, you can click through any of the profiles (unless the profiles are set to private) to get a better idea of who that particular person is. By looking at someone's tweets, you can not only see how often they log into Twitter, but you can also see what kinds of things interest them based on the various conversations that they are having. Additionally, nine times out of ten, you can almost immediately tell if the person has a hidden agenda.

From my experience, the twitter users who tend to gravitate towards automatic messages are those who are on Twitter to promote their businesses and/or those twitter people who have so many followers that they simply cannot keep up with all of the personal messages to each and every person. While the topic is up for debate, it seems as if automatic direct messaging (DM'ing) on Twitter not only looks and feels impersonal, but it gives off the impression that you really don't care enough to send someone a message. If that's the case and you simply cannot keep up with your twitterers, there is no rule saying that you have to have automated direct messaging in place. In fact, I think most Twitter users would prefer no message to one that came from a computer.

Creating an album with PowerPoint
Step1: start PowerPoint2007, click on the button Photo Album on the Insert tab and select the New Photo Album...

Step 3: Add a picture from a file or disk.

1. Under Insert picture from, click File/Disk…
2. Locate the folder or disk that contains the picture you want to add to your photo album, click the picture file, and then click Insert.
Notes: If you want to add a large group of pictures to a new photo album all at once, after clicking File/Disk in the Photo Album dialog box, select all the pictures that you want to add to your photo album, click Insert.
Step4: Set up the album layout.
