Survey

Business Administration with International Management & Economics is a full-time six-semester course. Annually starts in the autumn semester.

Tuition (with the exception of non-English language-learning units) takes place entirely in English.

The course is made up of modules of between 3 and 9 ECTS credits, i.e. 5 to 8 modules per semester. Modules may consist of up to three sub-modules which are related to each other and typically cover different aspects of specific areas (e.g. economics, ecology and mathematics). Assessment is normally through end-of-module examinations or in-module assignments.

The terms of content, the course features a general management programme of approximately 120 credits and an exclusively international focus programme of approximately 60 credits. Moreover, students will have to pass an assessment level of two semesters before being able to continue their studies at bachelor level (semesters 3 to 6).

A wide range of teaching and learning methods are used, depending on the aims and objectives of specific modules and sub-modules. Apart from contact units, directed and self-directed learning form an integral part of the curriculum.

The Aims and Objectives

The aims of this Bachelor programme are to:

* provide students with the knowledge, skills and capabilities to enable them to become actively involved in managing and developing activities in all areas of business, such as accounting and finance, information management, marketing, organisation, human resources, strategy and policy planning

* develop students' understanding of the economic, legal, social and technological environment in which business operates and thus to allow them to respond proactively to contemporary issues and challenges

* equip students with the techniques, tools and methods required for planning and organising, for efficient information research, critical analysis and evaluation, effective problem-solving and informed decision-making

* provide students with the ability to engage in successful teamwork and to deal constructively with criticism and conflicts

* develop students' oral and written communication skills in more than one language and across national and cultural borders

* develop students' awareness of their own strengths and weaknesses and to encourage them to reflect on their own values and assumptions, as well as the impact of their actions and those of others in business and wider society

and in addition:

* to offer native speakers of English the opportunity to study international management and economics in Central Switzerland

* to give advanced, but non-native speakers of English the chance to substantially improve their command of English for specific purposes (management and economics as well as related areas)

The business world is a complex web of supply and demand. Money and goods, physical or otherwise, pass through the global market every single day. To meet this exchange between one country and another, foreign exchange, or forex, was born. The term forex is used to refer to transactions involving the conversion of money of one country into that of another or to the international transfer of money and credit instruments.

Foreign exchange, or forex, is used because different nations have different monetary units, and the currency of one country cannot be used for making payments in another country. Because of trade, travel, and other transactions between individuals and business enterprises of different countries, it becomes necessary to convert money into the currency of other countries in order to pay for goods or services in those countries. The transfer of money values from one country to another and the determination of the price at which the currency of one country will be surrendered for that of another is one of the main functions of forex.

Forex is a commodity, and its price fluctuates in accordance with supply and demand; exchange rates are published daily in every major newspapers of the world. When the exchange rate is floating, free of government intervention, the rate of the forex, or the price of the currency of one country in terms of that of another, will depend on overall supply and demand and on the relative purchasing power of the two currencies. The forex value will depend on the competitive position of the two countries in world markets. If country has a certain commodity that another country is dependent on, its forex will be significantly higher than the latter. Gold, oil, and exports are just a few of these commodities influencing a country's forex.

Forex is also dictated at times by speculation of dealers, brokers, or others. What they predict becomes a major influence on forex. However, the government has the power to prevent the forex from crashing. Its gold value and country's wealth raises help the forex value. The aim of government's control is to limit the demand for and to increase the supply of forex in order to maintain a stable exchange rate. Control usually provides for allocating forex only for approved imports and requires that all or part of the forex derived from exports or other sources be given to the central bank in exchange for local currency.

Forex is seen as the trading tool of different countries. To stabilize and increase the forex of one country will mean a lot of economic changes. The proper allocation of funds, the stock market condition and the nation's marketable wealth will determine the future of its forex rate. Understanding the forex rate is relatively simple. Using one country's forex, i.e. the dollar, we can determine the wealth standing of a country. Say the forex rate of a pound to the dollar is 80, while the dollar to the pound is 65. This means that the pound is more stable and richer that the dollar because of the 15 value difference.

The country's stability and political scene can also influence it forex rate. Investors bring in a lot of money, which equates to additional wealth for the country. Once that country is not able to guarantee stability, political and economy-wise, these people can take their investments out and leave the forex rate crippled.

Review: I´d like to advise every investor which cares for his money to stay away from ACM. it´s a really SCAM in there, stops mysteriously move or disappear, spreads widen all the time, long positions finally end with losses without reaching the margin account.

They have no respect for customer´s interest, they only look for customer to put money all the time, and is the only solution they offer. all client´s querys about problems with their platforms end with regrettable resolution, all of them against customer´s interest. Service it´s fine, platform very friendly, web ok but ACM´S business is to win when you loose. not all your positions reach the real market, most of them stay inside the company and that´s market making. For your information ive got my money sent to my credit card account at January 28, 2009. It means take 10 days to receive my money. I proof that etoro is not a scammer. Etoro has average performance because they have poor system that oftenly hang when trade is crowded. Anyway Thank you etoro.

2009-01-26 1 Star I trade at etoro and requested for withdrawal at January 18, 2009. And until i write this review at January 27, 2009 i still dont get my money. I write many mails to them, and they always answer that my money have withdraw succesfully. I checked my credit card account and called my bank, theres no transfer from etoro or retailfx. I guess they are just a scammer. I will wait 5 more days wheter a positive result and i will write a review again after that.

Review: I tried their demo for about 4 months, then went live. I noticed something strange, but i don't know if it's real or me. I know we are supposed to place stop losses, but unfortunately, it seemed that as soon as i placed a stop loss no matter how high, less than 100-150 pips, it will inevitably hit it before it hits my limit orders. The only way i have been able to profit is to avoid stop losses and then just ride it out until either my time frame is expired or my limit is hit. I don't know if this helps, i would be interested in other people's experience with dbfx. Overall their service has been excellent.
