Why is Article 13 a good thing? Positives about The European Parliaments new position on this matter

So everyone is making videos about why Article 13 is a bad thing and I understand all the negatives if things proceed as proclaimed, but what if goes through and we have to live in this new world where it becomes reality, what positives can we expect, if any?

Noone does anything without a reason and surely there will be someone who will be happy, who are they?

Positives about Article 13

"Creators" get paid more for their content
"The Law" can more easily control content

Alright that was a rather short list, please let me know if you can think of more.

Why Article 13? Who needs this?

(I can't believe this is relevant) When US President Donald Drumpf talks about the corrupt media, he is also pointing at the industry which would benefit from something such as Article 13. What stands out to me in the list above is that one way or another, everything is covered by the umbrella-term "Media".

"Old Media" in general stands to benefit, while their biggest competitors, the companies who will now be illegally using content, will face huge losses.

This is a war about who is "The Media"; between "Old Media" and "New Media".

Mass communication - controlling peoples

Good marketing is changing. People have been "going to the club" (reading newspapers, watching TV, etc.) for as long as current powers know. With the introduction of "dance classes" (YouTube, Facebook), we see a shift in who The Media is. Old is using one of their most powerful tools, legislation, to stay in power. New is fighting back by raising the pitchforks.

As for my opinion

This is VHS vs. CD, DVD vs. BluRay, Radio vs. TV, Blockbuster vs. Netflix or simply "Old vs New". It seems pointless to argue any further than that as to what will win in the end. This is part of the bumpy ride. Either you're as cool as Bass Reeves, just learn from it and get better at playing the game, whatever the rules or... You're less cool and history forgets about you.

Aktiv dødshjælp

Så fik jeg endelig mulighed for at skrive om et emne, som ligger mig nært: Aktiv dødshjælp.

Men, det er faktisk ikke mig der har skrevet (andet end introduktionen) og det hele kan læses ovre på Treateds danske blog i indlægget "Aktiv Dødshjælp: Skal det være lovligt?".

Jeg er ikke uenig med noget i indlægget og forfatterne har gjort det godt, i forhold til at vise begge sider af sagen. Lægeforeningen, Det Etiske Råd, Sundhedsministeren, Socialdemokratiet og Alternativet er blevet inviteret til at kommentere, da de nævnes ved navn. I skrivende stund har Lægeforeningen sagt de vil kigge på det, mens resten kun har svaret med automatiske mails.

Hvad der ikke var plads til i indlægget, var min egen personlige historie, som egentlig er ret kort, men fra mit synspunkt heldigvis har et væsentligt kortere forløb end de historier som Lisa Grye Elstorp og Marianne Hansen fortæller om på bloggen.

Kort tid før min mormor døde for mere end 10 år siden sagde min morfar til mig, at han aldrig ville ende sådan. Så ville han hellere dø, for det var ikke en værdig død. Min mormors død var langtrukken.

Jeg ved ikke om min mormor ville have taget imod aktiv dødshjælp, men det er meget tydeligt at min morfar var fortaler, fordi han gerne ville have muligheden selv, hvis det blev relevant.

Og så skal der faktisk ikke mere til at overbevise mig, om at selvfølgelig skal aktiv dødshjælp være lovligt. Det er godt nok mærkeligt at leve i et samfund, hvor staten forbyder døende mennesker at få det overstået på egne præmisser, men i stedet skal trække det i langdrag. Hvorfor mon?

Hvem tjener penge på at holde døde mennesker i live?

Modstandere og fortalere for aktiv dødshjælp vil sjældent snakke om pris, og siger at det må det ikke handle om. Men penge og magt danner holdninger.

Sundhedssektoren (privat/offentlig) får penge for at holde mennesker i live, lidt ligesom at mange mennesker betaler penge til Netto* for at få noget at spise. Hvis folk dør er det skidt for begge forretninger. Netto skal dog konkurrere med alle de andre butikker og får garanteret mere ud af at lave propaganda andre steder og ignorere aktiv dødshjælp.

Farmaceutiske virksomheder derimod, de tjener gode penge når folk er i live, ikke når de dør eller bliver kureret. Palliativ sedering er en ren guldmine: Folk skal fyldes med lægemidler og næring på et hospital. Det er der mange der tjener på.

*Jeg nævner kun Netto fordi jeg selv har arbejdet der og det var en fantastisk arbejdsplads med dejlige mennesker. Kan erstattes med hvilket som helst sted du køber noget som helst.

Hvem betaler for at holde døde mennesker i live?

Læger ordinerer medicin/livsforlængende behandling. Hospitalerne betaler lægernes løn. Staten betaler penge til hospitaler. Staten får sine penge fra skatteydere.

...er dem hvor man selv lærer noget i processen.

Jeg skriver rigtig meget tekst på arbejde, men heldigvis, så er der fra tid til anden andre som hjælper lidt til. Det indlæg jeg gerne vil fremhæve i dag (Sådan beskriver du bedst dine smerter så lægen forstår dig) er hovedsagligt skrevet af Line fra Medeno.dk og så har vi hos Treated.com stillet plads på bloggen og vores grafiker til rådighed. Det er blevet til nogle virkelig gode illustrationer, synes jeg i hvert fald.

Men det som har været fantastisk ved lige netop dette indlæg, var hvor meget jeg lærte om smerter i processen. Selv hvis man som mig sjældent har kontakt til sundhedsvæsenet, så er det faktisk rart at vide mere om smerter. Det giver mulighed for at forstå andres smerte bedre - hvilket nok i virkeligheden er det bedste ved indlægget.

Stolt af sit arbejde - det er mig!

Generelt er jeg stolt af det jeg laver og stræber efter at levere det bedst mulige resultat med midlerne som nu engang er til rådighed. Nogen gange, så bliver det bare lige bedre og det er tydeligt at mærke i forbindelse med lige netop dette blogindlæg at det er min lyst der har drevet værket.

Indlægget her er egentlig bare for at råbe højt og sige: "SE HVAD JEG HAR LAVET! Er det ikke flot?" for det synes jeg nemlig det er. Det bedste jeg har lavet hos Treated.com indtil videre.

Uden mere omsvøb, så tag endelig forbi bloggen og læs mit interview med Torben som grundet kræft har fået to stomier og er impotent - men ikke lader sig kue grundet impotens eller stomi, det er vildt inspirerende at læse! Han får det til at lyde som om livet er bedre efter sygdommen.

P.S.: Hvis man gerne vil have mere indhold fra min side af, så skal jeg bare prikkes til. Blogging er sjovt, men bedst hvis der kommer noget feedback - hvad kunne DU tænke dig at læse om?

Hvad har jeg lavet det sidste års tid?

Det er lige blevet 2017 og jeg har nu været bosat i Storbritannien i lidt over 2 år - det er vidst på tide at jeg får skrevet til om hvad der er sket.

Netto UK
Jeg startede med at arbejde for Netto da jeg først flyttede til UK. Flytningen kom på baggrund af flere ting, men mest af alt så var jobmulighederne i DK simpelthen ikke til at blive. Problemet var kort fortalt at da jeg blev færdig med mit studie, var der 3-400 andre studerende som ligeledes blev færdige på samme tidspunkt, fra samme universitet. Hvis blot 25% har sendt ansøgninger til de samme steder, så har det været rigtig mange ansøgere til knapt så mange stillinger.
Mit job hos Netto i Danmark blev hurtigt til fuldtid og selvom jeg havde en fantastisk chef i Rasmus (og senere Mette), som forstod at udfordre mig, så var det bare ikke det jeg ville med min karriere. Så da jeg hørte at Netto ville tilbage til UK, gav det mening at jeg i det mindste kunne tilføje lidt til CV'et, ved at jeg havde været herovre.
Så pr. d. 6. august 2014 var jeg ikke længere ansat hos Netto DK og startede d. 7. august på job i Netto UK. Det gik meget stærkt og var en kæmpe og yderst spændende udfordring.

Jobskifte
Jeg var glad for at arbejde for Netto UK, men som jeg snakkede med min Store Manager om, så har jeg uddannelse jeg ville begynde at bruge til noget. Mulighederne var enten at komme i træning som Store Manager eller søge noget internt i Netto UK marketing. Så efter en tur til hovedkontoret og en samtale med vores markedsføringsafdeling, blev det besluttet at det var den vej jeg skulle. Desværre blev løftet fra vores marketingansvarlige ikke overholdt og der blev ansat andre i stillinger jeg kunne have haft. På dette tidspunkt var det så også for sent at komme med på forløbet til uddannelse af nye butikschefer - jeg var blevet lovet noget andet, så havde sagt nej tak.
Så skulle der søges noget andet.

Treated.com Danmark - online apotek
Muligvis den helt perfekte stilling for mig. Jeg har som mange vil vide været hos hele tre forskellige Start-Ups som en del af min uddannelse, alle tre i New Zealand. Det var virkeligt lærerige forløb, med enormt meget indflydelse på den daglige drift, design og meget mere.
Hos Treated.com har jeg fået de samme muligheder, men uden nogen form for risiko. Produkterne er måske lidt specielle (receptpligtig medicin), hvilket giver en udfordring i forhold til hvordan vi kan reklamere. Det hele afhænger af SEO, noget som jeg vidste en lille smule om i forvejen, men til sammenligning med hvad jeg ved i da, kan jeg godt se at det var ingenting.
Nu har jeg så mere end et års erfaring med SEO (søgemaskineoptimering) og vil da mene at jeg har godt fat i hvad det handler om. Egentlig er det ret let: Producér kvalitetsindhold, som giver læseren værdi.
Beviset for at jeg "ved" hvad jeg laver, må være Treated.coms danske side, som klarer den rigtig godt. Specielt godt for sider som den om hvor i Danmark man kan blive testet for kønssygdomme. Formularen er ret simpel: Der var ikke nogen rigtigt gode sider om hvor det kunne lade sig gøre - så måtte jeg jo lave en.

Siden er det blevet til en lang række projekter på arbejde, herunder et interview med Klamydia.info, en side hvor man kan lære endnu mere om klamydia og klamydiateste i Danmark, sammen med en række blogindlæg hos Treated, skrevet i samarbejde med forskellige professionelle inden for sundhed, motion og kost.

Nu er det tid til Brexit - indtil videre betyder det ikke noget, men pr. i dag er det officielt og brevet er blevet videregivet til EU. Lad os se hvad der sker...

Så skal du igen betale 5 kr. i måneden i opkrævelsesgebyr. Det er muligt at du vil kunne spare igen senere hvis du genoptager eller igen starter på en SU-berettiget uddannelse og derefter igen skal til at betale tilbage.
Du kan udsætte lånet flere gange (kunne jeg i hvert fald). Så det kan du forsøge dig frem med og undgå gebyrer i længere tid.

Findes der billigere løsninger end SU-lån?

Nej. Rentemæssigt er SU-lån et af de bedste lån i verden. En mere fyldestgørende gennemgang af denne påstand hører til i en blogpost for sig selv. Men hvis valget står mellem et billigt SU-lån og et hvilket som helst andet lån, så betal din anden gæld af først og vend tilbage til SU-lånet når al anden gæld er afviklet.

Hvilke konsekvenser får det at jeg ikke betaler de 5 kr. i opkrævelsesgebyr for mine SU-indbetalinger?

Statens Administration er i stor udstrækning finansieret af disse gebyrer. Hvis alle kender dette lille trick og får betalt deres SU-lån tilbage hurtigere, så kunne det være de droppede gebyret og fandt en anden finansieringsform. Men det er vidst ikke helt sandsynligt.

VIGTIG INFO!

Husk på at dit SU-lån stadig trækker renter så længe det ikke er betalt tilbage, så få det gjort når du kan. Betal alt andet gæld tilbage FØR dit studielån.

Plot-twist:

Efter at have afsluttet samtalen, finder jeg ud af at vedkommende i den anden ende er distriktschef for en mellem-stor butikskæde med butikker i hele verden.

Men det er okay, for hvis det er konkurrencen på jobmarkedet i øjeblikket, så tvivler jeg på at jeg nogensinde bliver arbejdsløs.

Why did the US intervene in the Korean war?

TL;DR: They didn't - the UN did. A multi-national force composed of US, UK, Australian, New Zealand, Dutch and several other countries, was asked by the UN to go to the assistance of South Korea as it was being over-run by North Korean troops.The military effort was commanded by the American Genreal McArthur.True the US did most of the fighting, but UK and commonwealth troops fought many battles and assisted the UN operation with as much bravery as the US troops.
That, or they were training for the Vietnam War. Who knows.
But honestly, as you say, my best guess: US had some serious penis-size-related issues when politics didn't work. So, they came and shoved their dicks up them Korean mothafuckers arses...

So why would the US display such a tremendous force in a country so far away (and this is where it gets interesting, and speculations occur): To show other countries, could be for example Vietnam (hint hint, nudge nudge, know what I mean?), that the US had great military power and was capable of overcoming any obstacle on their way in religiously spreading freedom to the entire world. Remember, as the Kwar was initiated, at the same time, the US was sending military advisors to assist the french armies in Naaaam in order to help them there, before the US themselves went there in 1959 when they had had enough of the yellow-skinned tint-eyed demons slaughter and mayhem bringing bannermen. Remember, this is all post WWII when the world was trying to settle down, or some were, like Europe and the US. Europe being highly influenced by the world war with a stagnating economy, relied on US troops to do the work. Many men died in WWII, european countries had no spare warriors to send, but the US, showing up late for the 'STOP - HAMMER-HITLER-TIME'-party, didn't lose as many men or suffer the same great continous losses as many european countries.
Also, US army consisted of seasoned veterans who wanted to go to war again, and kids (read: young adults, green soldiers) who would love to go to war again, because, US have throughout history had a war for every generation to participate in.
There are MANY MANY options for why the US should MOST DEFINITELY go to war. These are all possible options. I don't know which is right, the official reason will of course be: "We care about the poor innocent people whose houses are burned to the ground, the fatherless children and the rape of women... HURR DURR." But honestly, my best guess: US had some serious penis-size-related issues when politics didn't work. So, they came and shoved their dicks up them Korean mothafuckers arses...

Miljøministeriet, som åbenbart også står for Geodata, har i dag lanceret noget endnu mere underligt: En app der fortæller Alarmcentralen hvor du står, når du ringer 112.
Skide smart! Og dog... Der er lige et par men'er, som jeg vil vende tilbage til efter lige at snakke marketing først, det er trods alt væsentligt mere interessant:

Ovenstående er hvad Politi postede på deres Facebook, og jeg må indrømme at jeg troede det var en dårlig joke de første par gange jeg læste det, for:

Hvem har brug for en 112 app?
Er det overhovedet en rigtig reklame det der?

Skrifttype, farvevalg og billede minder mest af alt om et børnehaveprojekt...

Hvem er ansvarlig for det her? Afsenderen er Miljøministeriet: Kort & Matrikelstyrelsen på billedet men der står Geodatastyrelsen på hjemmesiden og det bliver posted på Politiets Facebook og Alarmcentralen takker mange gange for ens deltagelse... For mange kokke?

(Dette er også årsagen til et blogindlæg og ikke en email direkte til den ansvarlige myndighed).

Nå, jeg downloadede skidtet alligevel med lovning om at når jeg ringer 112 og har fået ætset mit stemmebånd op af syre tvunget ned i halsen på mig af en tilfældig forbipasserende, så kan Politiet stadig finde mig - nice!

Selve App'en
Man åbner App'en og bliver bedt om ens telefonnummer, så de kan parre GPS-koordinaterne med Caller-ID når jeg ringer 112. Tricket er så, at hvis du ikke ringer fra App'en, så får de ikke din lokation. Så hvis du ringer og får fat i Alarmcentralen, men kommer i tanke om at du skulle bruge App'en, så læg på og ring op igen via App'en: For at spare tid naturligvis.

This guide will explain how to not pay for the media license issued by Danmarks Radio (or DR), it is basically a translation of this guide, intended to help my fellow international students at the IBA save some money on a stupid fee they, of all people in Danmark, have absolutely no use of.

Some facts:
DR has no legal rights or the ability to force you to pay the fee.
DR can NOT see whether you have a TV, internet, smartphone or cable-TV package (except by visual observation - looking through your windows).
DR does not record conversations (phone or in person), as this is illegal. Unless they state this at the very beginning of the conversation in which case you can simply say: "No comments".

Q&A:
Q: DR sent me a bill, should I pay it?
A: No, not if you did not sign up for the media license yourself. Simply put the bill in the trashcan. Their system relies on people paying out of blind fear for the system. Then go and unsubscribe from the media license.

Q: How do I unsubscribe from the media license?
A: Go HERE. DR is bound to respect your unsubscription.

Q: Can I be forced to pay the fee for months already gone by?
A: In principle yes. DR has to prove that you were obliged to pay the fee, which they can not unless you yourself told them that you should have.

Q: What do I tell the inspector if he shows up at my apartment?
A: They have no legal right to access your home, consider them a private person. Tell them that you are not subject to paying the fee and never have been. (Note: If you open the door and they can see a smartphone, TV, radio or similar - see next question).

Q: What if DR signs me up after visiting or being in contact with me?
A: DR has stopped accepting emails on the usual address, I recommend using solution 2, but you can also use number 1.

Solution 1: for cancelling DR Medielicins

Solution 2: for being a pain in the ass of DR

I request that you forfeit your claim against me, and I request access to ("aktindsigt i") my license case, so I can have an overview of the reasons for the faulty sign up. Remember to respect the time frame for "aktindsigt" as specified in "forvaltningsloven".
Best regards Name".

After this they will hopefully remove your subscription as they have no proof of your obligation to pay the fee.

Q: Why do I ask for access to my license case ("Aktinsigt").
A: "Aktindsigt" is a right you have according to "forvaltningsloven", to see what is recorded about you, whenever a public authority is treating a case in which you are involved. In relation to DR, this is the legal tool to use to make them say that they have no proof that you should pay the fee. This request should in principle be answered within 10 workdays (2 weeks). This is the key to have them unsubscribe you, because they know they have no proof.

Q: What consequences will it have for me to unsubscribe from the media license, even though I have TV/Smartphone/Internet/Cable-TV?
A: None other than they can sign you up again. There are no fees and DR does not require you to pay for months gone by.

Google Drive and DropBox sync

So for some time I have had the issue that my documents were on my Google Docs because that was the best way to share and collaborate on note taking for school, and all the materials we used were on DropBox because it could be on my computer and phone at the same time. I've been wondering about a solution that could combine the benefits of the two, so that come exams, I wouldn't have to download all my Google Docs and not be able to edit them in an exam situation (because I do that so that they're up-to-date for later exams). Anyways, a solution provided itself with the release of Google Drive, which also has a desktop application, just like DropBox.

It is, in its core, very simple.
1. Install Google Drive
2. Install DropBox
3. Put the DropBox folder into your Google Drive folder
4. PROFIT!

It's that simple, and you can of course do it the other way around as well, putting your Google Drive into your DropBox folder.

Beware of Speck Computer Cases!

Together with my Macbook Pro I got myself a case as well (via the Apple online store) as I am very particular about my electronics, and always have screen covers and hard cover cases etc. for everything, ensuring that once I am done with them, they are in perfect shape for resale. Example with my latest acquisition, my iPhone 4S: I did not leave the store until it had a piece of plastic on the screen and a hard plastic cover on the back. Sure the screen is less smooth and the phone itself is less physically appealing, but it stays protected!

For a long time I was very happy about my Speck case except that it didn't fit perfectly on the bottom part of my MBP. One day the upper left corner (near the powerplug) broke and the case would not stay on anymore, fair, that is why my computer had a case anyways.

I took off the case since it was loose anyways, and saw that the rear of MBP had A LOT of small indents and pokes everywhere. After some thinking and reapplying the case I noticed that this could only be from tiny tiny pebbles or sand, that would have been stuck under the case, and once the computer was put on a table, they would press against the computer, and and make these little holes in the bottom of it's aluminium casing.

This has meant that my MBP which would have dropped only a little in price in comparison to when I purchased it, will be reduced to a mere 20-30% of it's original price since it is no longer flawless, but instead has severe physical damage to it's outer side. For an investment of 303 DKK (50 USD), supposed to insure that my MBP stayed protected, this was a very bad choice. Since without the case, this would never have happened, with the little pebbles simply never getting to be pressed against the computer under normal use like they were with the case.

To be honest I am disappointed with Speck and would under no circumstance recommend anyone to use any of your cases for their computers, but instead simply keep the computer in a sleeve instead, when not in use.

To be fair, the screen cover works perfectly and to this day is still on my Mac, so from my experience it is safe to use, but the bottom part - STAY AWAY FROM IT!

How to set up your IBA email account on your iPhone

To help out my fellow students at the IBA, here's a short 5-step guide on how to set up your IBA email on your iPhone, with pictures!

Go to Settings, and tap "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"

Tap "Add Account..."

Choose "Microsoft Exchange" (2nd from the top on the picture below).

Now enter your credentials as below, note that the "Server" line will not show up until you tap "Next". It will give you an error message, then enter the server as below, and tap next again.
Note: You can write whatever you want in the "Description", this will be the name that shows up in the overview (picture 1).

Now choose what you want to sync with the server. "Mail" must be on in order for you to read your school emails on your phone and synchronizing "Calendars" will allow you to see your schedule in your calendar on your iPhone. "Contacts" and "Reminders" are both optional.

And that's it, your iPhone will now display your schedule and you will receive emails from the IBA directly on your iPhone.

Artemis: Spaceship Bridge Simulator - What is it and is it good?

This summer I was lucky enough to actually be able to attend the annual reunion at my boarding school, and here I saw something that I have missed in many years, seeing the growing popularity of online games: A group of people, sitting together around their computers and having fun playing the same game. This is what we call a LAN-party, but sadly, I haven't been to any lately, as all the games are online anyways and you talk with each other for free through Skype, so why bother?

One person however wasn't sitting, he was walking around, looking at everyone's screens, pointing at people and giving orders: "MORE COOLING!" - "INCREASE ENERGY ON THE FRONT SHIELDS!" all while he was getting reports back from the people around him: "DS3 NEEDS ASSISTANCE!" - "We are low on energy, sir!". There was a lot of tension in the air as the spacecraft that these people were running was fighting a fleet of enemy spacecrafts, but there was fun too.

They were playing Artemis: Spaceship Bridge Simulator. Thom Robertson, the creator of Artemis, writes on his website about Artemis:

"Artemis is a multiplayer, multi-computer networked game for Windows computers.

Artemis simulates a spaceship bridge by networking several computers together. One computer runs the simulation and the "main screen", while the others serve as workstations for the normal jobs a bridge officer might do, like Helm, Communication, Engineering, and Weapon Control.

Artemis is a social game where several players are together in one room ("bridge") , and while they all work together, one player plays the Captain, a person who sits in the middle, doesn't have a workstation, and tells everyone what to do.

Artemis is a software game for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7."

I found the game so amazing, that once I got home, I started toying around with Artemis myself, getting it ready on my Mac laptop (super easy with Wineskin).

One week later, I had 3 friends come by to act crew for me and we headed into space! With only 4 people on the bridge I doubled as Captain and Science while my Helm was also taking care of Communications. We had a fantastic evening, switching roles a few times so everyone could try the different positions, and my next experience with Artemis is due this weekend, where we plan on bringing the game to a 'real' LAN-party and play it, not in a small room, but somewhere where everyone can see what we are doing, for Artemis is not only a cool game for the players, but also spectators.

I can highly recommend this game to anyone who would like to challenge themselves both as individuals and as a team. Playing Artemis requires very little knowledge of computers and games, but does require that your crew knows how to work together.

The Demo is free, but unfortunately doesn't include all functions of the game, but if you ask me, the 40$ for a license is better spent here than on anything else, AND you can share the game, for free, with your crew!

A Game Designer's Take on Diablo 3's Loot System

Only just before and after the release of Diablo 3 I made posts on the sigil's that you could obtain through their release contest, other than that I've until now decided to stay silent on the topic of the quality of Diablo 3, allowing Blizzard to get their heads around 'fixing' their game.
Short version: Diablo 3 is a terrible game when weighing expectations (provided not by the fanbase, but Blizzard themselves) against the actual result.

But, I have had a hard time trying to explain just what exactly made the game so bad, I could not point it out exactly. However, this post from Yamahako was sent to me, and it explains exactly the issues I have with Diablo 3, and I wanted to share that with you. It is a very long read, but it is worth it. I have quoted the part of the text I found interesting because of the psychology aspect/game design view on things. Now the text, posted by Yamahako on 29th of May, 2012:"A lot of people seem to be complaining about many things in Diablo 3, but most of it boils down to loot. Even progression boils down to loot drops at a functional level.

It's not to difficult to identify the problem here. People enjoy getting loot for their character. People enjoy seeing loot drop. These trigger certain pleasure centers in our brains. People don't really enjoy searching the auction house for items. But the most efficient way to get gear for your character is not by seeing it drop.

Rational behavior will dictate that the path of least resistance (in this case, time) will direct behavior. So, because the Auction House is faster to obtain loot, this will be the default "best" place to get it. Especially since you can get what you want, right now. Even though it is less fun.

This means, that the Auction House needs to not be the cheapest best place to get all of your gear, which means that the game needs to - generally - have lower drop rates - because the existence of the Auction House increases the visibility and availability of gear. If everyone had good gear, and everyone could put it on the Auction House, then the prices would drop and the Auction House would be defacto the best place to get gear.

Unfortunately - the problem is that the Auction House pricing is already deflated. To the point of making the Blacksmith (another gear acquisition path) a non-option for someone attempting any semblance of rational behavior (Rational Behavior from an economics/Game Theory stand point - path of least resistance).

The huge problem with this is that the 'fix' from an economics perspective, would be to lower drop rates even further, so that prices rise, so that farming for items becomes more profitable. However, since people are getting less positive feedback from this game from a loot dropping perspective (and we've established [for most people] that the AH is less fun than seeing loot drop) lowering that even further would drop the positive feedback even MORE!On top of this, the rarest of items (which can cause the largest spikes from a reward perspective) are not proportionally better that the most common items. So when you see a legendary item drop, the sheer volume of good blues and rares that have dropped have a majorly significant chance to be better than that rarest item drop. This creates a NEGATIVE feedback for what should be a highly positive feedback spike.

Since good blues are fairly common, and good rares and fairly rare, you eventually stop caring that you are getting good blue drop loot - from continuous reinforcement (see B.F. Skinner for more on this) - and the pleasure of gear acquisition in that respect no longer triggers an endorphin release. That coupled with the negative feedback from a legendary and rare drops, make people not get the same sense of happiness from this game as they did from D2.

Since this is supposed to be the fun part of the game (loot acquisition- as stated multiple times by Blues), that leads people with high levels of frustration to turn to an area of lower frustration to express the need to gear - the AH. Since the AH is not "fun" (unless you're interested in markets and the buying and selling of goods) then this also doesn't trigger reward mechanisms that would keep people playing the game.

Add to that the fact that is is frustratingly complicated to farm in the game (as specifically designed by Blizzard in order to reduce the effectiveness of Boss runs) due to the quest system being required to run in order to progress, it basically creates a system that discourages you from farming to gear up - hence why people just want to hit inferno running (they haven't gotten their loot fix yet and really need it to justify the game to their wallets). This then causes the brickwall to hit them as their gear level (and possibly skill level) isn't up to that level yet - and then the whining happens.

This is a MAJOR design flaw. The most fun thing in the game (getting loot), should be accomplished by most fun thing in the game to do (slaying monsters). This is Game Design 101 (I'm speaking as a designer myself). The best way to gear up needs to be by farming for gear (triggers 2 pleasure centers). Inferno difficulty is not a problem if:1) is it possible to gear up in hell difficulty, and2) you can get enough small upgrades in order to trigger the endorphin release frequently enough to make this behavior feel rewarding.Since this was the design, but its not succeeding (at least by my perspective) - I'll add a couple of more concepts to this list - though they would not strictly be required for a successful system:3) the process of farming gear is fun (fun would be created by dynamic content that is both optimal to complete and varied in its execution)4) the process of farming gear is 'easy'. I don't mean easy as in accomplished easily, but rather as in its easy to get into a game where you can explore around and complete events and kill bosses in a way of your choosing. The content can be difficult - but the process of attempting the content should not be difficult.

But since number 2 on that list isn't currently happening, number 1 won't be perceived as possible by the players (10 clears, 0 upgrades, I will go complain on the forums that its impossible - even if its possible and I needed 100 clears. Since I've received no positive feedback from the game that my effort is being rewarded, I will feel as though my efforts are pointless.) This is the problem most people are facing. Take into account that waypoints are largely ineffective due to the questing system, and clicking through quest text on subsequent playthroughs is (for the most part) an annoying time sink, its not even 'easy' to go farm for loot that likely won't drop. And that random events have little or no reward, and random spawning packs of mobs (which are irrelevant to map variance) don't create enough of a varied exploring experience.

Now there's a 3rd item acquisition method, which I've touched up only slightly - which is the blacksmith. We'll ignore the cost and time associated with leveling him up at an in game level appropriate time for now. The cost of his combinations are too high. The lost opportunity cost of even just vendoring items (rather than salvaging them), and then paying the combine cost is much higher than the AH cost of items. This means its never worth it - even ignoring the cost of leveling the blacksmith - and even ignoring the random nature of his items. So his existence, from a player's perspective will typically never be rewarding - and it needs to be.

Yamahako clearly outlines the issues with the current loot system in Diablo 3, and how in almost any case, is a negative experience to play the game. This is exactly how I felt. Starting Diablo 3 on my computer is a disappointment, even before logging in now. I have spend many hours with absolutely no rewards. I did finally find a Skull Grasp ring that sold for 11 million, because, trading was not option, and the money quickly left my hands in return for better gear for my characters. Naturally, this money was spend on the Auction House, the only place to go to get money.

Promotion Sigils for Diablo 3 finally awarded!

Seven great tips for making your baby fall asleep easily!

Sleep is all about feeling safe and comfortable, the warm feeling of having nothing to worry about.

You probably know it from yourself, when you have something troubling your mind, it will be harder to fall asleep. Here are seven great tips on how to make both your child and yourself fall asleep more easily.

1. You must realise that there are no single solutions to a child’s sleep problems - if there were, it would not be such a disputable topic.

2. You must consider the individual child’s age, development and the types of sleep issues as a whole before you can help your child the right way. A toddler just 10 months old, who has just learned to crawl, will naturally sleep a bit uneasy at night, processing all of the new motor-skills they have acquired. A three year old who has just started kindergarten will have other reasons for their uneasy nights.

3. Keep a stable and consistent daily routine. A child who sleeps at approximately the same time every day, eats well, and is challenged as well as played with at an age-appropriate level, will naturally sleep better.

4. If a child is having trouble sleeping, you must let them know that you are there. Depending on the age and intensity of the crying, you must evaluate whether to pick up and comfort the child or sit next to it and hold hands. Sometimes reading a book or singing, letting the child hear your voice, is all it takes.

5. Learn to differentiate between when your child is crying out of fear or dissatisfaction. You will know when to pick up the child, and when it is enough to simply be present. As the child grows older, the crying will develop into protest rather than fear, and then it is ok to be a little more stringent. You must express that it has to sleep now, because he/she needs it.

6. Stay in contact with your Early Childhood Centre or parents. It is important for you as a parent or educator to stay in contact with the whānau surrounding the child. Staying informed about the child’s every day life will make it much easier for you to deal with the issues that arise.

7. Trust yourself and don’t blindly follow others’ advice. Follow your heart and intuition. If what you are doing does not feel right, it may be an indication that it is not.

A very short review of the game
I loved this game for SNES and had to get it. I still love it. The controls are so-so, decent for a touch-based interface. The game is easier to make up for this (e.g. monsters don't respawn). Some things have changed however, mechanic-wise, which is not good (the route of the Boomerang Cutter is different). All in all a good game with terrible controls.
Worth it? I think so. If you like 2D-sidescrolling pew-pew madness this is something for you.

Before you start...
One thing to keep in mind when working on gathering up achievements is, that when you got it, you got it. Same goes for collecting items. So when you have gotten what you came for in a specific stage, you can safely exit to the stage select and save the game.

Clearing the Stages

Achievements: Intro Stage Reclaimed, Snowy Fields Reclaimed, Power Plant Reclaimed, Energy Mine Reclaimed, Oceanic Base Reclaimed, Fortress Tower Reclaimed, Forest Base Reclaimed, New-Type Airport Reclaimed, Weapons Plant Reclaimed, Sigma's Palace Pt. 1, Sigma's Palace Pt. 2, Sigma's Palace Pt. 3, Sigma's Palace Pt. 4

These achievements are fairly easy to get and also award the least points. Don't worry about these as you will get them as you progress throughout the game. In the bottom of this guide you will find a short strategy guide to each boss, to help you defeat these.
Clearing all stages (including the last Sigma Stage) and saving will not prevent you from going back and using that same profile to complete achievements.

Collecting the Parts
Achievements: 100-yard Dash!, Tough Guy, Hard-Headed, Unstoppable Firepower

Gathering these achievements, must to some degree be done in a specific order. The optimal order is to do take the dash first (Chill Penguin Stage), then go for the helmet (Storm Eagle Stage), now you can take the X-Buster (Flame Mammoth Stage) and the Armor Upgrade (Sting Chameleon Stage). This is because it is impossible to get the X-Buster upgrade with Helmet and Boots, and the Armor does not matter that much (reduces damage taken by 50%).
Once you get an upgrade, you got it (on that save), so after claiming each upgrade you can safely exit the stage and do another if you wish to collect all the upgrades before you complete the stages.

Boots
Easiest to get upgrade, go to the Chill Penguin Stage and complete it as you would normally, once you enter the cave and climb past the spinning wheels and bats, you meet a capsule, take it and voila.
If you do not wish to get the shoes, you have to first talk to the man, and then jump over the capsule.

Helmet
In the Storm Eagle Stage, after the part with the floating platforms you must jump across, you will meet a tall metal pole, jump to the top of it, and slide down the other side. Jump off the platform at the bottom and reach the one to the right, go in and collect your price. You can now destroy rocks with a nice head-butt. This ability, together with dash, is required to collect the X-Buster upgrade.

Weapon

Weapon Upgrade location

Go to Flame Mammoth Stage, the first time you encounter the yellow platform with flames shooting up from underneath, you want to turn around and dash-jump off the yellow platform to the left as far as possible. Then with your helmet, head-butt the blocks and jump up till you see the capsule, collect your prize! Don't worry if you accidentally fall off after destroying a few blocks, it's still possible to get up there, even after destroying them all (this was not true for the original version of Mega Man X).

Armor
In the Sting Chameleon Stage, you will after a few black-outs see a huge chunk of rocks on the right, here, jump up and go right. Eventually you will fight a miniboss. The easiest way to defeat him is to simply shoot him in the head with the X-Buster, and when he jumps, dash all the way to the other side, jump and shoot again, when he jumps, dash back to the spawning point, jump and shoot and so on. Repeat until he dies. When the miniboss is dead, a capsule will appear, claim your prize and move on.

Getting Insured
Achievements: Insurance Plan A, Insurance Plan B, Insurance Plan C, Insurance Plan D

It does not matter in which order you collect these, however, one requires an upgrade, the other a weapon.

The first one I collect is in the Storm Eagle stage. When you meet the rotating turret on a platform that moves up, shoot it, and take the platform up, shoot the glass and go right, kill the robot, go right, collect the Subtank.

The second one is found in the Flame Mammoth stage and require you to have the boots upgrade. The first area with flames shooting from the ground and miners throwing their pickaxes at you, jump to the top left platform. From here, dash and jump to the left. You will see a wall of breakable bricks. Jump on them till they break and collect the Subtank.

The third one is found in the Armored Armadillo stage, first time you drop down in a whole and a bulldozer chases you, run until it dies, go back to where it came from and collect the Subtank. Alternately, slide down the wall until the bulldozer starts moving, then jump up and wait until it has passed, then you can drop down and kill it or just go and collect your prize and wait for it to die.

The last one is in the Spark Mandrill stage and requires the Boomerang Cutter. In the beginning of the level, move down and right as much as you can, and then when standing closest to the last wall you reach, jump and fire the Boomerang Cutter. This should collect the Subtank.

Acing the Hearts
Achivements: Ace of Hearts, 2 of Hearts, 3 of Hearts, 4 of Hearts, 5 of Hearts, 6 of Hearts, 7 of Hearts, 8 of Hearts

Each of the Maverick stages contains a Health Boost heart. In the order that I normally collect them:

Flame Mammoth Stage
In the area with the flame from the bottom and the miners throwing pickaxes, on the bottom level, move all the way to the right, collect your heart.

Chill Penguin Stage - Requires Fire Wave Weapon Upgrade
On top of the platform you meet after finding the first robot, destroy the bunkers using the Fire Wave weapon. You can get there either by jumping in the robot and then exiting it and jump up onto the "roof" of the cave, or walk through the cave and jump up there normally.

Spark Mandrill Stage - Requires Boots Upgrade or Boomerang Cutter
The first ladder you meet that leads to the remaining part of the level, jump up on the right side wall, dash jump away from the wall and up onto the platform and collect the heart. Alternately you can jump and use the Boomerang Cutter.

Storm Eagle Stage - Requires Boots Upgrade
In the first map, on the highest left-most point of the elevator, dash-jump to the left. Collect your heart.

Launch Octopus Stage
When you find the second whirlpool that leads up to a submarine, jump up and onto it. Shoot the glass "eye" until it falls down, let yourself fall down with it. Walk right, defeat the worm, go to the right and collect the heart.

Armored Armadillo Stage
The second time you jump down and face a bulldozer, kill it (with auto-fire cheat this goes fast), move right until you meet a platform, jump up there and collect the heart. You can easily see it.

Sting Chameleon Stage - Requires Boots Upgrade
Before the cave, where the miniboss entrance is right above you, slide down the wall instead. Here you will see a wall of breakable bricks. Break it, go as far right as you can, then dash-jump to the right onto a platform and collect the heart.

Boomer Kuwanger Stage - Requires Boomerang Cutter or Shotgun Ice+Boots Upgrade+Weapon Upgrade
You can't miss the location of this heart when walk through the stage, and you need to complete it before you can collect the heart. Use the Boomerang Cutter to collect it.
On the SNES, this could also be collected using a fully charged Shotgun Ice shot with the weapon upgraded, to make a skateboard, and from that, dash jump out and up onto the platform. However, it's not that easy with the touch controls so I haven't gotten around doing it on my own iPhone sadly.

Boss Weaknesses
Achievements: Emperor of Ice, Tsar of Electricity, General Steel, Captain of the Seas, Demon of Dimensions, Master of the Forest, Prince of the Skies, Oligarch of Oil, Wall of Terror, Carnivorous Tank, Loyal Wolf, End of an Era, Dawn of Destiny.
Use the below listed weapons of choice to defeat the bosses and obtain the achievements.
NOTE: It is only the LAST shot that counts, so beating the bosses with a different weapon and then finishing them off with their weakness will still grant you the achievement.
NOTE: You do not have to gather these achievements during your first run through of the Maverick bosses, you will face them all again during the Sigma parts and can kill them here (so you don't have to go back and redo bosses).

Obtaining and using the Hadoken (Hadouken)
Achievement: Hadoken!

Getting your hands on the most powerful weapon in the game is quite simple, in comparison to the original: Gather all 8 Health Boosts, all 4 Subtanks, all 4 body upgrades and kill all 8 Maverick bosses. Basically, complete everything up until Sigma.

Then go to Armored Armadillo stage, and on the last wagon (the 3rd one), charge up for a super shot, release it while you in the middle of the screen, shoot some small shots to kill the birds ahead of you, and once the wagon is in free air and reaches its highest point, dash jump off to the right, jump up and take the Hadoken upgrade.

To use Hadoken, Press Down -> Left or Right -> Fire

NOTE: To be able to use Hadoken you MUST have full life.

HINT: An easy way to fire Hadoken is by sliding your finger the down button towards the middle of the screen really quick and then click fire. Remember that the down button dashes towards your target, so don't stand too close when trying to fire this weapon.

Other Achievements
Achievements: Bubbly Bat, Flashy Firefly, Whirlpool Stopper, Oil Well Sealer, Daring Collector, Merciful Hunter, Heartless Hunter, Nimble-Footed, Will to Live, Nerves of Steel, Item Hater, Unlimited Potential, Maverick Hunter, Speed Demon, S-A Class Hunter.

While most of these are self-explanatory from the list of achievements in the Game Center, some of them are not.

Bubbly Bat
In the Armored Armadillo Stage, instead of taking the mining carts (one-wheeled thing with spikes in the ends), walk. You will meet a big black bat, kill it, and you will receive your reward for killing the Batton M-501.

Flashy Firefly
In the Spark Mandrill Stage, in the area where the light flashes and those flies cross the screen illuminating a path behind them, that's a Hotarion. Kill one of these to get the achievement. Walk through this area a second time once you have learned when and where they spawn (always the same places).

Whirlpool Stopper - Requires Boomerang Cutter
Shoot at Launch Ocotopus with the Boomerang Cutter until his trunk falls off.

Oil Well Sealer - Requires Boomerang Cutter
Shoot at Flame Mammoth with the Boomerang Cutter until his trunk falls off.

Daring Collector - Requires Weapon Upgrade+Chameleon Sting
In Sigma's Palace, Pt. 3, when you get to a long row of spikes with items on top, charge up for an upgraded shot of Chameleon Sting, this will allow you to take no damage when you walk across the spikes and collect the items.

Merciful Hunter
Choose whichever stage you find the easiest and walk through it. Remember, you can lose life, just not fire any shots. Remember, Launch Octopus Stage is impossible to do this achievement in because of the worm.

Heartless Hunter
This achievement is easiest to do on either Spark Mandrill or Boomer Kuwanger. Use Shotgun Ice to kill Spark Mandrill or Homing Torpedo on Boomer Kuwanger and you should get this in the first try. It might not be impossible for definitely very hard on bosses like Chill Penguin, Armored Armadillo, Launch Octopus, Sting Chameleon and Storm Eagle since they all have a way of avoiding your attacks.

Nimble-Footed
Pick your favorite stage and go slow, kill stuff instead of running into it. Abuse abilities like Chameleon Sting and Rolling Shield (fully charged) to protect yourself from harm.

Will to Live
Practice, don't die more than twice during any stage.

Nerves of Steel
Avoid taking damage, getting the Armor Upgrade helps a lot, reduces damage by 50%.

Item Hater
Not killing things in the first place helps you a lot on this one. Note: It says items, not upgrades, so get those!

Unlimited Potential
This one is harder, and almost requires that you use the strongest weapon against many bosses. Remember to charge your X-Buster!

Maverick Hunter
The X-Buster is really strong, and for this Achievement you can even collect the upgrade, which will make the fully charged shot as potent as the boss' weakness.

Speed Demon
Dash and dash-jumps are your friends. Using the strongest weapon against bosses helps too. Practice running fast!

S-A Class Hunter
Practice in avoiding the bosses skills. This one is definitely the hardest of all the 60 Achievements.

The Intro Stage

The Intro stage does not exactly contain any achievements, however, there are 20 bonus challenges to do for the completionist! Completing the challenges will make Doctor Thomas Light appear for you and tell you how awesome you are and invite you to complete the rest of the achievements above. In addition you will notice that as you complete the challenges, you obtain little pieces of a picture, once finished, you can tap the upper left corner of the screen to see the picture of the Mavericks in full screen.

I suggest running through the Intro Stage several times (at least 10 :p), and every time you complete it, pick a few of the challenges you haven't done yet and try to do those (I don't know about you but I failed a few times).

The hardest challenge for me was to die to Vile. What you do is that you make sure to have only 1 life left when you face him, then as he shoots and attacks you, wait until the light spark is close, then jump into him and die.

The other one that could be hard is the speed one. A tip is to stand behind the 'copters when killing them (just run through them). Then you can continue onwards more quickly.

The item collection consists of 2 items, just after the first giant bee, slide into the hole and you will find them. Pick them up and you are good to go.

Time Attack - New game mode added after release

Time Attack
This game mode had the potential to be interesting, but it isn't really.
Especially because I'm pretty sure they messed up the ranking of it, so the longer you take, the higher you rank... What a killer. Personally I don't like this game mode, mostly because it doesn't really add any value to the game (for me).

There's not much to say about it either, however, a few short sentences about it follows:

The game mode is all about speed. At the same time however it is vital that you kill stuff and collect the green balls that creatures drop.
Once you start playing this mode you have probably completed the game already and started working out the best ways to clear certain stages. Knowing what comes next helps a lot, especially in stages like Chill Penguin and Armored Armadillo where you often face flying monsters. When you know where they are you can shoot them so that the items fall to the ground and you can pick them up as you dash past, this will improve your speed a lot!

Survival Mode
Time has passed and the last of the three "Ranking Modes" have been released (maybe we'll see more in the future?). Survival mode is pretty simple: You select a profile ("Save Data") and then you have whatever upgraded or not version of MegaMan. You can not get life or shots back, so eventually (given that you take damage and use shots) you will die, and it is all about getting as far as possible. The maps are modified versions (basically much longer) of the standard maps with a mixture of monsters serving as obstacles. For every fifth 'floor' there is a boss (Floor 5, 10, 15 and so on), I recommend using the Boss Weakness Table earlier in this post to see what weapon you should fight them with.
As for the floors: Play this mode over a few times and you will eventually learn the maps and positions of monsters, allowing you to get further.

Everything evolves around changes. This is true in connection with the other three keywords, as it is the one that binds them all together. None of them would be interesting if the teams, the culture, ethics and society was always the same. It is human nature# to be curious to explore, challenge the existing and search for better.

The most important changes are those around a unit#. The ones that are agreed on internally are just as important as those stemming from an external source, as these need to be accepted in the same way that change from an external source needs to be accepted. The difference between the two is simply that changes from external sources usually surprise the unit in focus.

Changes affect the environment that we practice in, whether this is our work environment where we practice our job, or it is a school environment where we practice our learning. Human nature which was mentioned earlier, comes into play once more. We seek the new and exciting, and yet we still want the comfort of everything being the way it usually is. This way we can build habits, work out routines, set a culture, agree on standards, ethics and work together in units. We do this to optimize the outcome of our practice. This statement ironically leads to the next one, that stem from human nature: This is also why we apply changes.

As highlighted already in this paper; “everything evolves around changes”. This is true for the models that are commonly used to describe units. This is including how they team up, what their culture and ethics are and how they innovate.
The models origin from a series of scientists throughout the ages, with focus on both individuals and units as a whole:
Freud and Mazlow describing basic human requirements to their surroundings. Mintzberg, who took a practical approach with a company in focus and described the different types of units or organizations within an organization. Kotler, Hofstede and Gesteland who all focus on cultures in a more broad perspective, mostly relevant in relation to the culture of a country#, but applicable elsewhere.

Changes are interesting because they affect us, directly and indirectly. This is true whether they are foreseen or unforeseen, or from internal or external sources. The main difference between the sources being that we can influence internal sources directly, while external sources are more ‘out of reach’.
Influences from changes can be ‘put in boxes’, like below, to easily get an overview of where a change originates, and take appropriate action according to possibilities at available.

As we can see from the examples above, changes appear in many different shapes, and the reaction are even more diverse, as no one reaction is the same. Both unforeseen and foreseen changes are relevant in a business environment. We can prepare for foreseen changes, just as well as the unforeseen. The ability to adapt to changes is what in marketing is referred to as agility, a term that fits very well in this connection. Another approach to better describe this is Geert Hofstede’s Uncertainty Avoidance Index, which describes how exactly how easily we adapt to changes.

How change affects us

And why is the text in the right side of the post all of the sudden? Read on.

The two lines above will most likely have made you stop for a moment, and wonder why the text was in the right, and not the left side. The change was unexpected as we, as students and teachers have a culture that dictates certain formalities when writing assignments to be handed in. Reactions to changes, or as in this case, incorrect formatting, vary depending on the agility of the reader. No matter what however, there is always a reaction to an action#. As opposed to the law of physics settled by Newton, the reaction is not always equal the to the action.

The same is true for changes in an environment, there is always a reaction.

The Hawthorne studies pioneered this in a corporate environment, where the simple change was that they told the employees they were looking for areas to improve. Without any further actions, knowing that they were being watched, employees increased productivity. The main change here was that the otherwise unnoticed factory workers were suddenly in focus, the increased attention for their labor caused a change in their culture.
The culture before they were being watched, was similar to that of the students at the IBC today. There is a set of rules regarding adequate operation of computers. However, when not monitored, these rules are broken by the students using the school computers and Internet connection to play games and visit websites that are not school related. Just like the students, workers at Western Electric’s factories in Hawthorne close to Chicago, USA, back in 1927-32 did not follow the company guidelines completely until they were aware that they were being watched. Here we return to human nature once more: We tend to seek the new and exciting, which does not lie within the perimeters of routines, habits, culture and ethics.

A way to better understand the mechanics of changes is to use The Change Circle#. It describes change from when a unit is first exposed to a change in its environment or practice, to the point where the change is accepted and everything, aside from the change, is working as usual. All changes go through this circle that is split into 6 (7 with the danger zone) phases, each describing a phase that a unit must go through before the change is fully implemented in its practice.
This is where it starts to get interesting when talking about change, because this is where we get a better idea of what to do, or not to do, when changes occur. It is also where the management of a company can prepare for how changes will influence its employees.

How this should done depends heavily on the change to implemented, the environment surrounding the unit and the culture. This requires knowledge of and about the change, the the environment in which it is to be implemented, the units affected and the culture and ethics of these parts.

I meant to post this on Tumblr but I think I'm going to ditch that site since it's been so unstable recently that, forget it, not worth it.

See what I meant to be posting about was one of those little things in a relationship that can turn everything upside down if not managed correctly. It's: "Forget it" (nono, don't stop reading yet, this IS the topic!).

When you're told to forget something, can you? Not really. Thoughts pass through our mind all the time, at the speed of light, maybe even faster, what makes them stick, is repeating them. So if I tell you something you will think this thought through once, unless I return there, you'll forget about it. But if I tell you to forget it, you will not only think of the thought again, but start thinking about it, creating connections between that thought and other thoughts. You will start wondering: "Why does he want me to forget? What could possible be the reason that something that doesn't matter has to be forgotten? That means it means something, right?" Once you connect a thought to your other thoughts it's no longer just a thought (that's a lot of thoughts, I know), thus creating a memory. Memories are hard to get rid of, they can stick for months, years or a lifetime. If it's a worry, it will stick until resolved and be added to the pile of resolved issues that you no longer worry about.

Worries, are essentially bad memories, created by thoughts that should have been forgotten but the human brain wants to solve problems, or challenges if you want.

In a relationship this all sums up to: If you don't want problems, don't make them. Either let it slip, or solve the problem right away, or you will get all the negative effects you most likely already know comes from worrying. Sad, but true.
