Unlock New Starting Nations

When you have beaten the game in a full Campaign (50 nations and taken out SPQR) the following new starting nations become available; Egypt, Gaul, German, Sluicid, Spain.

Console Codes
Press the tilde (~) key and enter the following codes to activate the corresponding. All the codes are case sensitive. Unlock Zodiac Spear

This is the most powerful weapon in the game and to get it you have to open ALL the treasure chests in the game except for those in the following four locations.

1) The treasure chest in Lowtown just outside of Old Dylan's place.

2) Don't open the 2 chests in the cellar of the palace before you get the Goddess Tear.

3) At the place where your weapons are kept if you get captured (Confiscatory) don't open any of the treasure chests.

4) Don't open any of the 16 treasure chests which are grouped together at the island on the Phon coast.

When you have completed this task go to the Necrohol of Nabudis and the Zodiac Spear will appear. This weapon has a +150 Attack and a +8 Evasion

Healing Berserk and Esper Locations

Heal Berserk Status
It is possible to heal Beserk status quickly without having to wait for it to go by casting Dispel on the character infected.

Cheats Codes

In GTA IV cheats are activated via using the mobile phone. Try entering any of the following codes after Roman has given you his old mobile phone. This happens pretty early in the game so you don't have to wait long before you can enter the cheat codes. Once you have the phone you can enter them as often as you like.

Okay, first get out your mobile phone and press 'Up' to raise the phone higher and reveal the complete keypad. Then use your controller to select the set of numbers according to which cheat you want to use, after you have entered the code the cursor moves to the dial button, just press 'Up' again and if successful you will see a message 'Cheat Activated' on the screen. When a code has been entered correctly, a new 'Cheats' menu option becomes available on your phone under 'Options' which allows you to access the cheats without having to enter the phone number again.

Getting 100% Completion

To be able to get 100% completion of the game the following list must be completed.

Complete ALL 90 story and procedural missions to get 68% complete.

Complete ALL 30 car thefts to get an additional 2%.

Complete ALL 50 stunt jumps to get an additional 2.5%.

Complete ALL 20 vigilante crimes to get an additional 2.5%.

Kill ALL 30 people on the list to get an additional 2.5%.

Collect ALL 200 pigeons (flying rats) to get an additional 2.5%.

Carbine Rifle

If you want some extra fire power then take a trip to Happiness Island where this weapon is located. To get there you'll need a helicopter or boat but if those options aren't available you can always swim. At the island go inside the first door of the 'Statue of Happiness' and kill the security guard on watch there who has the carbine rifle.

Free Shotgun Shells

If you're out of shotgun shells you can automatically get 5 more by entering a police cruiser.

Free Health Increase

Climb into an ambulance if your health level is getting low and you'll get a small health increase.

Unlock Ski Mask

If you plan on doing a robbery and don't want to be recognised then why not unlock the ski mask first by completing the 'Three Leaf Clover' mission. When the mission has been completed the ski mask will be available anytime as a hat in your wardrobe

Search Police Department Database Files

If you want to know more about the characters in GTA4 log into a computer at the TW@ Internet Cafe and enter the URL 'www.libertycitypolice.com' and select the 'Database' tab which is located at the bottom of the homepage and you will be able to surf the Liberty City Police department files on all the characters in the game.

If you don't want to worry about the ammo limit and running out of ammo in the middle of a gunfight get 100% completion in the game.

ATM Cash Glitch

Find an ATM then block off traffic in the road leading to it so cars cannot pass. Then wait for someone to use the ATM, kill them then take the money they drop. It's essential at this point that you have done a good job at blocking the roads so the ambulance can not take away the corpse.

With that said... Run a bit away from your victim and go back again and the same money should be available to pick up again... If anyone is using the ATM when you go back you can kill them too and each time you return their cash will have respawned too

Repair car engine

Broken down? Car on fire? Try calling 911 using your cellphone in the game, the emergency services may come and your engine will be fine again.

After you meet Faustin, complete ALL 100% of his missions, before attempting Dimitri's missions, as Dimitri has you kill off his best buddy Faustin. Therefore making him unable to give you his final lot of missions and you'll be unable to get 100% completion of the game overall.

Diamond Snow

If you fly to Snowpoint City on January 12th which is Junichi Masuda who is the Director of Gamefreaks the snow will appear sparkly in the sky.

Happy Birthday

Set the system date on your DS to your registered birthday and when you have defeated the Elite Four talk to Professor Rowan's assistant and you will be wished a happy birthday.

Spiritomb

When you have put the odd keystone on the broken stone tower and turned it into the Hallowed Tower you need to talk to 32 people in the underground (hikers not included). Then touch the Hallowed tower and press the A button and spiritomb will appear.

Dawn Stone

There is one Dawn Stone east to the Survival area and another in Mt Coronet which you enter at Oreburgh and will need Rock Climb. The Dawn Stone can be used on male Kirlias and female Snorunts.

How to get a Happiny Pokemon

Go to Hearthome city and there is a hiker near the left exit to route 209. When you speak to him he will give you a Happiny egg. It is also possible to get a Happiny Pokemon by breeding a Chansey holding a Luck Insence with a Dito or going to the Trophy Garden and catching one.

Eevee's Forms

When you hav got the National Dex and have Evee there are seven forms which it can evolve into. Listed below to help you are those forms and what you have to do get them.

Espeon (Psychic type):
Make it happy during the day.

Umbreon (Dark Type):
Make it happy at night.

Vaporeon (Water type):
Give it a water stone to hold.

Flareon (Fire type):
Give it a Fire stone to hold.

Jolteon (Electric type):
Give it a Thunder Stone to hold.

Leafeon (Grass type):
Expose it to the Moss Stone (Eterna Forest).

Glaceon (Ice type):
Expose it to the Ice Stone (field with the blizzard).

Trophy Garden Pokemon

To be able to catch these Pokemon you must first have the National Pokedex. When you have it go to the Pokemon Mansion and 'Save' the game. Then talk to the owner of the mansion and answer 'Yes' to all his questions and he will tell you that he saw new Pokemon in the Trophy Garden (below is a list of ALL the Pokemon that can be caught there). When the owner of the mansion mentions a Pokemon you don't want keep switching off the power to your game until he mentions a Pokemon you're after then 'Save' the game and run into the Trophy Garden and catch it.

Catching Pokemon

There are lots of different ways to catch some of these more difficult to get Pokemons below. We've just outlined some of the possiblities...

Castform:
To catch Castform go to the Trophy Garden of the Pokemon Mansion.

Darkrai:
To catch Darkrai go to the abandoned Inn in Canalave City. To enter the inn you will need a membership card which can either be obtained with Mystery Gift or at a Nintendo event.

Gible:
To catch Gible go to Oreburgh City and use Cut to go underneath Cycling Road and he'll be inside Waywards Cave.

Gligar:
These Pokemon can be found underneath Cycling Road or outside Stark Mountain if you have Pokemon Emerald in the GBA slot.

Heracross:
To catch Heracross buy honey from a man selling it for $100 in Floarama Town and spread it on the golden trees you see during the game. If the tree starts shaking there is a Pokemon inside and there is a 10% chance it will be a Heracross.

Munchlax:
To catch a Munchlax give a Snorlax a Full Incense and put it in the Daycare. When you get an egg run around for 10,240 steps and it will hatch into a Munchlax. There is also a chance of catching Munchlax by spreading honey on certain trees. It will become obvious which ones that you can spread honey on once the honey becomes available to you... The trees like slightly different and goldeny color.

Regigas:
You must migrate Regice, Registeel and Regirock into the Palpark and catch them. Then go to Snow Point City and directly north of the gym to a temple and he'll be on the bottom floor.

Riolu:
Speak to the man in the cave on Iron Island and he'll give you an egg. Run around for 6,000 plus steps and a Level 1 Riolu will hatch.

Rotom:
To catch Rotom you must first have the National Dex. When you have this go to the Eterna Forest and look for the old chateau. Find the room with the TV and press A on it. The TV will ask you to take a closer look and if you press 'Yes'
You will battle a genderless Level 15 Rotom which can breed with Ditto.

Cresselia:
Catch a Level 35 or 36 Wobbuffet in Lake Valor and surf to the bottom right corner of the lake to where there is grass and use your Pokerader. Cresselia will not be able to escape because Wobbuffet has the ability Shadow Tag.

Dratini:
To catch Dratini go to the Waterfall area of Mt. Coronet and fish using the Super Rod. You can also get a Dratini if you migrate them from previous versions using Pal Park.

Dialga:
To catch Dialga go to the south side of Mt. Coronet by Route 208 and use a move like Flame Thrower or Mach Punch and throw Ultra Balls.

Feebas:
To catch Feebas enter Mount Coronet at the entrance near Eterna city. You must have a Pokemon with strength and Rock Smash and have the super rod.

Eevee:
When you have beat the game go back to Bebe in Hearthome city and if you have an empty slot and the National Pokedex she will give you an Eevee.

Drifloon:
When you have defeated Team Galactic at the Valley of Windworks go back on a Friday (must be Friday) and you will see Drifloon.

Giratina:
To catch Giratina you need to have the National Pokedex, Surf, Rocksmash and Rockclimb. Go to Veilstone City and go down the east border on route 214 until you reach a path called 'Spring Patch'. Follow the path to 'Sendoff Spring' and look for Turnback Cave and you'll find Giratina inside.

Heatran:
To catch Heatran complete the National Pokedex and go to Stark Mountain and talk to Bucky (man with red hair). He joins you and then leaves to return the Lava Rock he took from the cave. When you now go to the cave you will find Heatran in an empty room there.

Lavitar:
To catch Lavitar go to Oreburgh City and keep going up the stairs until you reach a large patch of grass on route 207. Use the Poke-Radar to locate it as this Pokemon is rare.

Azurills:
To get Azurills give a female Marill or Azumarill a Wave Incense to hold and then breed it with a male Marill. If you try this without Wave Incense the egg will be a Mariil.

Ditto:
When you have got the National Pokedex go to route 218 by Canalve City and use the Pokemon radar.

Mespirit:
Track Mespirit with the Poketch and then use the move Mean Look and put it to sleep.

Uxie:
When you have Dialga or Palkia go to Lake Acuity and use False Swipe and Dusk Balls.

Phione:
Catch Manaphy and breed it with a Ditto to make a Phione.

Unlockables

Unlock National Dex:
Successfully complete the Shinou Dex.

Unlock Lucario Egg:
When you have beaten the 6th gym go to the caves and defeat some Team Galaxy enemies and a new character will give you the egg.

Unlock Eevee:
There are two ways this can be done, you can either receive an Eevee from someone named Mizuki in Hearthome City or you can catch a wild Eevee yourself in the back of the Pokemon Mansion.

Unlock Heatran:
Heatran is a Legendary Pokemon which can be male or female but cannot breed. To capture Heatran you must do a side quest and have the National Dex. Go to Hard Mountain and team up with Buck who you meet in the main room. To get to
The Main room you must have 3 HM's to get through the first room. When you have reached the small room Bucky will take the item in there and leave. Go to the Resort Area on the other side of the island and talk to Buck and return to the room in Stark Mountain and battle Heatran. Use Dusk balls as they are very effective against it. Heatran is at level 70 and can learn the following moves when you have captured it. All legendaries have at least a 580 stat total.

Sky Form Shaymin

You MUST have the Event Shaymin thats given to you via wireless event in TRU for America, or the Movie from Japan. These events have ended already and now require trading specific pokemon to get the item. Shaymin MUST be in the Cherish Ball to prove legitimacy. If you try getting the Gracidia flower from the blond girl in Floweroma Town you will not get it. You will have to wait to get WiFi to gain a TRU Shaymin. When you do get the Glacidia flower which has a magical power give it to Shaymin and then go to your Pokemon and click on Shaymin and he will transform into Sky Form.

60 - Poliwag:
When you have the Natonal Dex go to the Day Care Center and speak to the man in front (50% chance of being Shiny).

79 - Slowpoke:
Show a child in the Seal shop a Pokemon with a caplse on it.

133 - Eevee:
Visit Bebe in Hearthome City.

137 - Porygon:
Talk to a man in a house in Veilstone.

175 - Togepi:
Rescue the Bike Shop manager from the Eterna City Galactic building to receive an egg containing Togepi from Cynthia.

447 - Riolu:
When you complete the mini quest with Riley and he will give you a Riolu egg at the end.

440 - Happiny:
Talk with a Hiker at Hearthome City and he will give you a Happiny egg.

Talk to person in Eterna city

Unlockables

Unlock Mile High Club mission:
When you have beaten the Story mode on any difficulty setting and the credits have completed another mission will then start where you are on a plane that looks like the President's Air Force One and you have to complete it in under 2 minutes. The mission involves killing the bad guys, saving the V.I.P. And escaping the plane.

Unlock Arcade Mode:
When you have beaten the game once on any difficulty setting Arcade mode becomes unlocked. In Arcade mode you can either play Full Challenge or Level Challenge.

Unlock Prestige Mode:
This Multiplayer-only mode is unlocked by reaching Experience Level 55 which is the highest attainable level in the game. In Prestige mode the player can trade in their rank and start over at Level 1 in exchange for a special in-game insignia by their name. The player can trade in their rank and start over at Level 1 up to 10 times and the prestige insignia will change each time meaning that a total of 605 total ranks can be achieved.

Collect Intel Pieces
To get cheats for this game you have to collect pieces of intel which are scattered throughout the game. The more intel pieces you collect the more cheats for the game become unlocked. Below is a list of the cheats and the amount of intel pieces that are required to unlock them. There is a total of 30 intel pieces scattered throughout the game. Below is a list of how many can be found on each level and what they unlock.

Level 2 - 2 Intel Pieces

Unlock CoD Noir:
Collect 2 pieces of enemy intel and ALL gameplay will turn black and white.

Unlock Photo-Negative:
Collect 4 pieces of enemy intel and ALL of the colours in the game will be inversed.

Unlock Super Contrast:
Collect 6 pieces of enemy intel and the contrast in the game will increase resulting in the dark areas becoming darker and the light areas becoming lighter.

Unlock Ragtime Warfare:
Collect 8 pieces of enemy intel and gameplay will turn black and white and dust and scratches will appear on the screen. This mode plays at 2x speed and the background music becomes piano music.

Unlock Cluster Bombs:
Collect 10 pieces of enemy intel and when one of your frag grenades explodes another four will explode in a cross-shape

Unlock A Bad Year:
Collect 15 pieces of enemy intel and when you kill enemies they will explode into old tires.

Unlock Slow-Mo Ability:
Collect 20 pieces of enemy intel and when you use the melee button you will be able to change the game to slow-mo and play at half-speed.

Unlock Infinite Ammo:
Collect 30 pieces of enemy intel and your wepaons will have unlimited ammo (does not include single-shot weapons like RPGs or C4 and Claymores).

Unlock Lasor Sword

When you have beaten the game and unlocked overtime mode and got the 5-Day Survivor Achievement the laser sword will spawn in the security room along with your wrestling boots and Megaman outfit.

Punch Bag Bonus

At Al Fresca Plaza in the Flex's Gym break each punch bag along the back wall for 2,000 PP each and then 10,000 PP for breaking them ALL.

Ending Requirements

Get the following achievements in 72 Hours mode to unlock the corresponding ending

Unlock Ending A:
Solve ALL the cases and return to the Heliport at 12am on the 22nd

Unlock Ending B:
Solve ALL the cases and rescue a certain amount of survivors

Unlock Ending C:
Don't get to the Heliport on time and solve ALL the cases

Unlock Ending D:
At 12am on the 22nd be a prisoner of the Special Forces

Unlock Ending E:
Don't be at the Heliport and don't solve ALL the cases

Unlock Ending F:
Fail to collect ALL of Carlitos bombs on act 7-2

Unlockable Playing Modes

Complete the following tasks to unlock the corresponding playing mode

Obtain the 'True Ending'
