Beep Beep! Oh Look! A text!

It’s been a year I updated my blog. Not because I was too busy, and it also doesn’t mean that I am too indolent to write a blog post, the only reason is that I actually couldn’t find anything interesting to write upon. After all, writing is about penning down your emotions (except for the fact that it can also get you higher grades in exams! :P)

So, as always, before you read any further, I am again disclaiming this post being connected to me or my life by any means. I write about anything and everything which I experience by seeing or hearing from others around me, particularly my friends.

We live in a country, where quite literally we have mobile phone subscribers, who doesn’t get more than one time meal per day. Mobile phone is no longer a luxurious commodity, thanks to the network operators for 1p/sec plans! Unlimited SMSs pack made it further more approachable.

So, who exactly, is able to finish out a 30,000 SMSs pack in a month? This makes around 6 texts/minute. Pardon me; if my calculations are wrong, I am weak in Mathematics! :P

The age-group of 15-19 years is the biggest user group of these SMS packs, and I know a bunch of those. Every single minute, sometimes every half minute their phone makes a whizzing sound, I know chatting soothes your mind more than anything in your teenage! But what makes chat messages quite mirthful is the way people actually text.

Few days back, I met one of my friends, it’s been ages I had seen him, and instead of saying a ‘hello’, he came to me typing a text on his phone, and made me see his conversation with a girl.

I was like, “c’mon dude! You are actually making me read your chat messages?”

He: “so what? Just check out what she said just now!”

The message read: “love you...for being a gr8 gud fren..! :)”

I: “Err...Okay. So?”

He: “Hey...she said ‘love you’. What else you expect a girl to say to you?”

I: “A**hole! Read further, she said, as a great good friend.”

He: “ha! I know you are feeling jealous! She said ‘love you’! Gosh! I made it finally!”

I: *stunned!* [Why on earth would I be jealous of him?]

Here comes the main point, GIRLS! We’ll fight for you, we’ll die for you, but before that, we would actually like to share a few TEXTS with you!

You know at what moment young ladies look the prettiest these days, the time their phone beeps! A glow on their face like a dream has come true, like they have been waiting for it for so many decades, like it is a return of their frog prince.

Boys are no exception! A grin on their face like they have actually conquered a territory, like extra chocolate sauce for their ice-cream for free, like finding their favorite boxers after so many months!

Honestly, what makes text messaging so interesting is the way you can actually hide your emotions behind the text. We read texts in a mood we are, and you can never be sure of, in what sense did the other fellow type that text. The only thing missing is the audibility. And people [especially girls] find it more easy and convenient to let their feelings known via texts. But believe me, letting someone know your emotions through a 1kb text is not a good idea at all. When someone talks to you, be it a personal interface or a phone call, that person is exclusively talking to you, but when you are sharing any texts, you never know how many others are doing it with same person by side.

What I find more surprising is that more than half of the love affairs I have come across, actually started on that sleek plastic/metal body instrument. People are actually falling in love through texts. For instance, a boy [one of my acquaintances] after thousands of messages being shared made a girl’s phone ping with a text saying “would you like to be my love? :)” just for the sake of that he was getting ‘bored’, and when she said him a ‘yes’, he is like, let’s give it a try. Is that all? I mean, falling in love has been made so much casual that, you actually get committed through text messages? As expected, they broke up in a month’s time.

The point I am concerned to is that, why girls tend to look for a man they think would consider her to be worthy of being by his side? I mean, come on, you girls are the most unique thing God could have created ever. You do everything possible to make a guy convince, or make excuses to hide any problems you face during your relationship with him. What for? Why don’t you accept the fact that it is our (men’s) duty to make you feel special every moment we are with you, regardless of how we behave otherwise. And of course, keep you out of any doubt regarding our loyalty towards you. And please for god sake, you need to understand that no one can ever figure out a person’s nature through texts. So next time, before you get into any relationship attributing to the texts ‘he’ sent to you, please make sure that he actually wants to be a part of ‘your’ life, not that he wants ‘you’ to be a part of his life, and would readily do things to get and keep you.

But, if any girl considers herself smart enough to move around with more than one guy at a time, trust me, for every single lady on this earth, there’s a man who can actually make him love truly, irrespective of her attitude towards the same. He would have the power to bring her to shambles by just not being with her, but he’ll never ever use it if he actually considers her the love of his life.

We guys are morons in this context, believe me, any girl can bring us to tears, any of the cute cuddle bugs out there. If we even think of getting into love, we would hardly be able to conceal our exhilaration, we become a mess. Hardly, any of the guys would agree to it, we are too stubborn to accept a fact that makes us look like a dupe.

And if you still have any doubts in your ‘heart’, not your mind, regarding him/her, think again, loving someone is not a game, flirting, dating and getting you to bed is.

My sincere apologies if I did sound rude or harsh, you can blame it on my casual approach towards writing. This post isn’t for any particular deb, it is for all the beautiful young ladies out there, who are single, committed, or in a complicated relationship. Because the world seems even brighter, when you carry a smile on your face.

And for the guys who found this post quite exposing, “maaf kar dena yaar!” :)

How much does it cost?

As always...this post is also being published late.

Honestly I don’t have any idea, that why did I use this heading for the topic.

Maybe you’ll get to know about it, after reading this post.

As I was a high school student, and appeared for my class-12^th examinations this year, I am eagerly waiting for my results which are expected to be declared by last week of May.

Exams commenced on 2^nd of March, but as I am a commerce student, my exams started the very next day, i.e., 3^rd March. I wasn’t prepared for these exams [to be very honest] and nothing I expect in my results.

My parents always say that life keep on challenging you with new problems on every turn and fighting with those difficulties gets you experienced.

Last two years were too quick for me...with the grace of god, I found very good friends. But what changed my happy ending of school to a sad ending…was the experience of power of ‘money’.

According to my family, [money = everything – something]. I had deep faith in these words, but what I experienced last month, shattered my feelings towards the examination pattern...and teachers’ honesty & dignity towards students.

7^th March, I was at my accounts’ tutor’s home early morning, as I wanted to clear out some doubts, few other students were also there, for the same reason of course, but one of them had a question paper in his hand..I thought it was last year’s paper...but it wasn’t...it was an accounts question paper, set-2, which was to be attempted by almost a million students all over India after few hours.

I was scared of the accounts exam, because I am not much into my studies from the very beginning of my schooling, and that fellow was the only one smiling there.

Question paper was with him, hardly matters to me...but when he said that that question paper cost him Rs. 3000/-, a feeling of guilt went like a wave through my body, I always knew that ‘money matters’...but I could hardly think that money matters this much.

18^th march, day next to my economics exam, I met a friend of mine, a general question anyone will ask during exam days.

I: “hey buddy! How did your exam go?”

He: “Awesome! But it did ‘cost’ me my 500 bucks and a bottle of ‘Antiquity’[it’s a whiskey, for those who don’t know about] to sit behind a nerd!”

I: “Sorry?”

He: “oh c’mon! Don’t act like a child...u know my examination centre...anything can happen over there.”

I: “f**k off!”

20^th march, two days before my mathematics exam, I received a phone call from one of my acquaintances, “hey! I’ve got a deal. What about a mathematics question paper for just 1500 bucks, you are my good friend bro, it’s a nice bargain.” he said.

“Thanks for doing me this favor pal, but I am not interested.” was my answer. I was literally broken into pieces at that moment, for the same reason, that retard wanted to ‘buy’ me.

22^nd March, it was my b’day, a friend called me up to greet me [his father is a lawyer, *seems pointless here no…*], and the thing next to his greetings was, “hey, do you have any idea where are our answer sheets checked, because if it is in our city itself, my father can help me out big time!”

Me: ”no idea mate, thanks for calling!”

According to economics theorem, before Chinese people invented money, ‘Barter system of exchange’ was sustaining, but soon after, money took its place and acted as a common unit of exchange for any commodity you wanted to sell/buy, yes, any commodity; ‘anything’, including your emotions, yourself, and your inner self! :)

Your rupees note is basically a promissory note issued by the RBI governor with his signature below the text ‘I promise to pay the bearer the sum of **** rupees.’ I never knew that this promise could be so useful, and is trusted so much that teachers would sell themselves for it.

In ancient times, teachers [Gurus] asked for ‘gurudakshina’ as a gratuity in the end of their students’ learning days, they could ask for anything they wanted to, and students couldn’t ignore their demand, actually they never did. It was seen as an honorarium, but what I experienced about present world teachers, was that that they were just greasing their palms, they had no place in their hearts for the sentiments of the students being ditched by their wrong doings, they had no respect for the dreams that were being broken just because of the greed they are carrying.

In the end, to get yourself to the top of the merit list ‘without any hardwork’, following are the equations you can get through:

An economics exam = Rs.500/- + ‘Antiquity’ + a little buttering [as an icing on the cake]

A question paper = Rs. 2600/-(approx.)

Sometimes I wonder, What makes people go mad about money? Is this a problem with my country only? ‘Why is that’ everyone think of himself before others? Why money is bigger than anything else? Could these problems be sorted out, if yes, then ‘how much does it cost?’

A Girl & A Boy!

This post was meant to be posted on Valentines Day...But it took a bit longer to be written than I “expected”…yes I expected it to be posted on Saturday, 14^th Feb., 2009.

The story is about 12 years old and is still going on…

A boy was going on very easily with his life, one day he met a girl,

I year

Boy: Hi! I am new in this school, looking for some good friends; may I know your name?

[Boy was a complete flirt, he he!]

Girl: why should I?

Boy: Atleast you could wish me.

Girl: I won’t!

[The whole year passed by!]

II year
Boy: I know your name now! Ha-ha! Would you like to be my friend?

Girl: Not at all!

[Seriously, girl was a bit rude! X- and honestly it took that boy a complete year to know her name! Boy was too shy to ask someone for it! :P]

III year

Boy: I don’t give her a damn! Lemme study a bit!

Girl: [politely] excuse me...

[Boy was shocked!]

Boy: ha-ha! At last, you want to be my friend no..??

Girl: What!?! I am collecting notebooks; do you want to submit yours?

[Gosh! Girls--as always! ]

IV year

Girl: umm..I think I know you!

Boy thinking: *crap! It was supposed to be my line.*

*Girl tells him how.*

Boy: cool! So are we friends?

Girl: yes we are!

[Victory!] \m/

V year

Girl gave a call to the boy and he messed it up completely! Completely!

Girl: Hello!

Boy: Hey! How are you?

Girl: I am fine; listen...is my drawing book with you?

Boy: Nope!

[He smashed the phone quickly! Hell, why?]

VI year

[Grrr...I hate this part!]

Another friend for both of them, and unluckily he was a BOY! :P

Though all three of them proved to be good friends.

VII, VIII & IX year

These years were hell lot a busy for them!

Teachers were like monsters!

II boy was gone! Yippee!!

X year

But it seemed like ’III boy’ was waiting for entrance! :D

A great mess! Yup, this year was a great mess!

Not for everyone, but for the boy!

Girl: [blushing] hey, I want to tell you something, ----I am in love! ----

Boy: [expecting his name on her lips] Congratulations! Who is the lucky guy? :P

Girl:* ________*

Boy: [his legs shaking] Shall I ask him? [yup! It wasn’t his name!]

Girl: Only you can help me. Will you?

Boy did the job!

Girl and the III boy were together now!

The boy was feeling satisfied and shattered at the same moment.

He was satisfied because the girl he admired the most got her love, and was shattered because the one he loved was gone!

Chatting, ideas for gifts, orkut scraps and testimonials; boy helped the III boy everywhere in connection with that girl, just because he wanted to make her feel special and make her happy!

And one day for no reason they broke up!

You can call it a peaceful settlement! :P

III boy was out of the scene now!

XI year

Boy got admission in another school, so did the girl.

and now the only mode of their conversation---gtalk!---

Chatting, chatting and chatting!

Nothing special, always a general chat went on between both of them!

[boy never let her know that he loved her!]

XII year

A disaster!

Boy told her everything about his feelings!

Girl: what? Are you serious? What do you think of me? Who am I for you?

Boy: You are everything for me! Your eyes a sea wave, your hair a night without stars, your voice a sip of a wine, your smile a 1^st day moon, your stare a blessing from god, your tears a mayhem.

[He, himself didn’t know what he said and decided not to talk to that girl after all this happened, because he lacked enough guts to do the same, but girl insisted him and made him chat further.]

On 13^th Feb. she wished Valentines Day to the boy and expected the same in return, boy didn’t wish her because he wanted to meet her. Boy felt too shy to ask her for a meet, and as always he messed it up again!

That Boy told me to write this post because he want that girl to forgive him, because he can’t tolerate her frustration and want to see her happy every moment of his life!

It might sound like a hindi film story to the readers, but it is true! God knows, what will be the end of this story!

“We are heading towards Pakistan!”

It was Tuesday, 6th January, 2009. I was on my way to my cousin’s house in patiala in a Punjab Roadways bus aka ‘Punjab di gaddi’ :P. It was a smooth ride, until 2 cops came into view with some barriers blocking the road, when our driver asked him the reason, 1 of them told that truckers had blocked down the road ahead and they had orders to divert the traffic to the link road to the left.

Only 1 question was roaming in everyone’s mind now, “will I be able to reach my destination in time?” In name of the god, driver moved the bus to the left, without even knowing the way ahead! Conductor made some passengers move out of the bus, as he wasn’t sure whether the bus will be able to reach their stop. Few minutes later, as the bus was getting through narrow roads, a man with very broad shoulders (believe me; his shoulders were about twice as that of Matthew Hayden!) sitting at the last empty seats stood up and shouted, “Where is the bus heading to?” I don’t know about the others, but I was feeling like he’s about to hijack this bus!

Within 1 or 2 seconds of his questioning, driver replied back, “we are heading towards Pakistan sir, would you like to join in?” Everyone laughed out loud! That person replied to driver’s comment smiling, “Ofcourse! But make sure you buy us some weapons on the way!” Everyone laughed again!

I decided to put this incident on my blog because 46 days after what happened in Mumbai, people are back on track, and guess what? They have started making jokes out of it. I wonder, if the Mumbai incident didn’t took place, the driver and the man with broad shoulders would have cracked out that joke? Our relations with Pakistan have never been good, and I guess they never will be in future as well.

India and Pakistan are fighting on Kashmir issue from last 60 years, and there seems no end to this problem, I am not saying that Pakistan is responsible for attacks, as they themselves don’t know who is running their country (government or army). And I am also not saying that Kashmir is the reason behind the Mumbai attacks. Question is what will be the end of this problem? Who will finish it out? And when will people realize the depth of this mayhem?

Past few days..went easily..but how they went was unimaginable.

I was having a conversation with my friends at school..and suddenly one of my friends asked me..
"Arush, what is life?"

I was completely shocked...not because he asked me this thing...the reason was..I couldn't explain it to him..i was totally speechless.

from then this question is roaming in my mind..
'what is LIFE?'
I asked some of my friends..
One said:"it s a part of eternal cycle, u can't stop it."

another said:"life is a joke!"

One of them said:"itni tension q le rhe ho yar...tumhare jaane k baad kisi ne tumhein yaad nhi krna.."

but I wasn't able to get proper explanation of 'LIFE'...

we are here because our parents wanted us..do we wanted life from anyone..??

our parents want us to be successful in any field we step in...world outside our home is running... evryone wants to live,wants to live a 'successful' life...even when they know they have to go some day..??

What should I tell you about me..

gave my best to my friends...every kind of help they needed...every kind of support they wanted..still doing the same...but in the end...comes the point..are they going to help me when I am in a same situation..I know its wrong to question anyone's feelings towards you.. but how long they are going to be with me..??

Respect my parents at the worthiest...listen to everything they say and try to do everything they expect from me..I know parents are living gods on Earth..but sometimes what they expect is not expectable for me.

Friends say: "You really helped me Arush, thank you! I am never going to leave you behind, you are my best friend!"
I say: "Pleasure!"

Parents say: "Concentrate towards your goal, there is a long life for making friends."
I say: "but you told me that, this is the only stage when you enjoy with your friends."

Some people say: It is an age factor, these kind of questions will storm your mind, happens with everyone.

Some say: 'itna senti q ho rha hai yaar?'.

question remains the same, whom to believe in..parents..because they can never think bad for you..or..friends..because they’ll be helping me in future and never leave me behind..??
