Yellow Poppies Thinking Of You Card with BetterPress

Hello Crafters! I finally have another card to post. I pulled out my BetterPress so that I could use my new (to me anyway) Spellbinders Yana's Poppy Background Press Plate and Stencils.

I used Gina K Designs Ocean Mist ink on my press plate and ran it through my Platinum 6 die cut machine to create the poppy background. Then I used the poppy stencils and different shades of yellow to color the poppies. The colors that I used: Altenew Buttercream, Pinkfresh Studio Lemon Whip and Gina K Designs Sweet Corn, Wild Dandelion, Marigold and a little Warm Cocoa. For the leaves I used a combination of GKD Cadet Blue and Blue Denim inks. I adhered the poppy panel to a piece of GKD Wild Dandelion cardstock that I then popped up onto a card base of Gina's Ocean Mist cardstock with Altenew foam tape.

I'm really trying to do better with adding decorative elements to the inside of my cards and not just leaving them blank. So for this card I added a piece cut from the front poppy panel to a panel of GKD Wild Dandelion cardstock. Then I heat embossed a sentiment from GKD Morning Blessings stamp set with Brutus Monroe's Gilded gold embossing powder. I die cut it out and adhered it to the inside. By the way, the sentiments from the Morning Blessings stamp set are simply beautiful!

For the front of my card, I grabbed a hot foiled sentiment that I had in my stash from Pinkfresh Studio's Favorite Things Sentiments Press Plates & Dies. I adhered a couple of blank die cuts to the back and then decided that I wanted a little more dimension so I added some foam tape also. For the finishing touches I added some Wink of Stella to the poppies and a few Pinkfresh Studio's clear with gold dust gems. I was very surprised that my Wink of Stella still worked since I hadn't used it in a long time but I now feel that it will outlast me!

Hoosier Cabinet Thinking of You Card

Hello Crafters! I decided to make another rust and yellow Fall card. I've had the Honey Bee Stamps Hoosier Cabinet Die Set for a while but this is the first time I'm using it. I'm in love with this set and 5x7 cards are becoming my favorite size to make.

I wanted to create a background for the cabinet that looked like old-fashioned wallpaper and a wood floor. The wallpaper was created using Honey Bee Stamps Damask Background Stencil (something else from my stash that's gone unused until now) and Gina K Designs Sweet Corn & Lemon Drop inks. To create the floor, I inked up a wood grain embossing folder from Crafter's Companion with GKD Faded Brick ink, placed a panel of white cardstock in it then ran it through my Platinum 6. Then I took a narrow strip of white cardstock and embossed lines on it with my score board and adhered it between the wallpaper and wood floor.

After die cutting the cabinet with Faded Brick cardstock, I ran it through the same embossing folder to give it that woodgrain look. The rest of the cabinet pieces (doors & drawers) were also die cut with Faded Brick cardstock. To create the panel behind the doors and the shelf I used the Honey Bee Stamps stencil Baking Spirits Bright and inked it with GKD Warm Cocoa ink and then inked Sweet Corn ink on top of that.

All of the little details (dishes, pot holders, mixer, trim, etc) were die cut using Sweet Corn, Kraft & Faded Brick cardstock. The cookie jar behind the lower right door was die cut using vellum on top of the Sweet Corn star shaped 'cookies'.

I used GKD Ruffled Blooms Poly-Glaze and die for the sentiment. It was foiled with 14 Carat Gold foil and my Fuse Foiling System. It's really hard to get a good photo of the shine of the foiled sentiment.

For the inside of my card I cut a panel of white cardstock with a Waffle Flower scalloped die and inked the edges with Sweet Corn ink. I had extra die cut pieces from the Hoosier Cabinet set and adhered them to a strip of Faded Brick cardstock then adhered that to the scalloped panel.

I am also adding this card to The Color Hues Challenge #119 - Rust & Yellow.

An Autumn Thinking of You Card

Hello Crafters! I'm back with an Autumn themed Thinking of You card.

All of the flowers were inked and die cut with two Pinkfresh Studio sets - Fresh Florals and Floral Frenzy stencil and die sets - and dies from Gina K Designs - Autumn Leaves, Botanical Duo & Foliage Fillers. (The Floral Frenzy was part of a PFS Create & Connect cardmaking event that I took in August and it may be an exclusive set). After inking all of my florals and leaves with GKD Faded Brick, Sweet Corn & Wild Dandelion inks I die cut everything out and layered them in an offset circle on top of a panel of Spellbinders Beeswax cardstock that I ran through my die cutting machine with Honey Bee Stamps Waves Pierced A2 Cover Plate.

The sentiment is from Thoughtful Flowers Poly-Glaze & Die set that I foiled in 14 Carat Gold foil with my Fuse Foiling System, all from Gina K Designs. I adhered the finished panel to a top folding card base of GKD Faded Brick cardstock and added gold metallic pearls from PFS to finish it off.

I even finished the card on the inside with another panel of the Beeswax cardstock and some extra die cut leaves. And while I was at it, I added a die cut leaf that I also inked up.

Full Moon Silhouette Birthday Card

Hello Crafters! I can't believe that I've neglected my poor blog for such a long time but sometimes life just gets in the way. We went on an Alaska cruise which was incredibly beautiful and now it's something that we can check off of our bucket list and another state visited leaving just 7 more to go! Plus our "little" girl got married earlier this year which took up a lot of time planning during the last couple of years but it was so much fun! It was such a joyful wedding and she was such a gorgeous bride! Now I have a little more time to craft. It has taken me some time to get organized again and get my mojo back after a long hiatus but I had to start somewhere. And what better way than to finally use some of the crafting supplies that I've been ~~buying~~, um collecting, all of these past months.

The first set I pulled out was Harvest of Happiness from Gina K. Designs. I needed a birthday card for my son but I have some trouble creating masculine cards. So I 'CASED' a card created by Gina K herself! This is a 5x7 card.

I used the moon stamp in Harvest of Happiness and the largest part of the GKD Masked Circle Stencil to create a moon using GKD Sweet Corn & Pinkfresh Studio Bay Leaf ink colors. Then using the smaller part of the circle stencil over the moon, I ink blended GKD Bubblegum Pink, Peach Bellini, Wild Lilac, Blue Denim, In The Navy, PFS Sapphire & Stargazer ink colors to create the night sky over GKD Blue Denim cardstock. I used VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink to stamp the silhouette branches twice over the moon and the silhouette background image from the GKD Friendly Silhouettes stamp set at the bottom of the card. To add the "stars", I splattered white gauche paint mixed with a little water with a paint brush over the entire card. After drying I die cut the panel and a piece of white cardstock with GKD Master Layout #8 and layered the two then adhered those onto a side folded 5x7 card base. The 'Happy Birthday' sentiment strip is from Mixed Messages Sentiment Sheet from GKD which I adhered to my card with dimensional foam tape.

I'm really trying to do a better job of making the inside of my cards as nice as the outside so I stamped a sentiment from the GKD Birthday Greetings stamp set and also stamped the same silhouette branches from the front of the card also on the inside.

Navy & Lime Birthday Card

Hello Crafters! Today's card uses just two colors - Navy & Lime Green for the Color Hues Challenge and their 2nd birthday celebration.

I used Altenew's Vintage Lace stencil and embossing folder set. This is such a fun set to use and I have been using it a lot lately. So when I saw this navy and lime challenge I knew that I wanted to create a card with it again.

After embossing my Gina K Designs Ivory cardstock with the embossing folder, I used the stencils to add color to the embossed flower with only two ink colors - Gina K's Blue Denim and Key Lime. I started inking with a very light hand and as I changed stencils I put more and more ink color on my blending brush to achieve a gradient of color from light to dark with both the Blue Denim and Key Lime inks.

I cut the embossed and stenciled cardstock to 5 1/2" x 3 3/4" then adhered it to a slightly wider piece of Key Lime cardstock. These layers were adhered to a piece of Blue Denim cardstock and then to an A2 card base. Since Color Hues is celebrating their birthday I added a 'Birthday' die cut to the front of the card. I cut the Gina K word die three times and glued them together to create some dimension and adhered that to the shadow that I die cut out in vellum. I stamped the word 'Blessings' from a brand new Gina K stamp set called Doodled Autumn in Blue Denim ink onto a strip of Key Lime cardstock and glued it right under the birthday die cut.

I added a few Soft Ivory pearls from Little Things/Lucy's Card to the front of my card.

I had fun working on this card for the challenge. I will also be linking my card to the Color Hues sister challenge, Seize the Birthday.

Color Hues Challenge #47 - Gina K. Designs Daisies Forever

Hello Crafters! I'm finally back to crafting and decided to jump right in and join a challenge at Color Hues! The challenge colors are Chocolate & Mint so I created this card.

I started by hot foiling a piece of Hammermill cardstock with some Spellbinders hot foil and Simon Says Stamp Intricate Floral Background Hot Foil Plate on my Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil machine. I'm pretty new to hot foiling and even though there's a small learning curve, I love foiling everything now with my Glimmer machine. After cutting my foiled cardstock with a Waffle Flower A2 die, I ink blended the edges with Gina K Designs Applemint ink. I then layered it on a piece of GKD cardstock in Dark Chocolate and placed all of these on a top folding card base made with GKD Heavyweight white cardstock.

I used my new Gina K Designs Daisies Forever Layering Stencil Bundle to create the daisies in mint shades using GKD Applemint, Pinkfresh Studio Fresh Pear & Catherine Pooler In the Park inks for the petals and GKD Warm Cocoa, Dark Chocolate & Charcoal Brown inks for the flower centers. After die cutting the flowers out I added a little detail with a Gelly Roll white gel pen and a little Wink of Stella.

I layered the flowers onto the front of my card with foam adhesive and placed leaves that I die cut using two different dies from Gina K Designs - Foliage Fillers and Botanical Duo - cut from Applemint cardstock. The sentiment is hot foiled with Spellbinders Sentiments Hot Foil Plate Set & Espresso Beam foil and I die cut it with Lawn Fawn's Everyday Sentiment Banners die. I finished my card off with some Queen & Company jewels.

It's hard to see the glimmer of the foil in the photos but hot foiling adds beautiful and amazing detail!

I am so hooked! 😁

I Am the Guest Designer @ Color Hues Challenge #25

Hello Crafters! Today I have the honor and privilege to be the Guest Designer on the Color Hues Blog! They always have wonderful challenges and pick a winner at the end of the Challenge BUT....since this is Color Hues One Year Anniversary they will be celebrating by picking TWO winners instead of one!

How exciting is that!

I love butterflies so I knew that I wanted to create them in these two colors with my Pinkfresh Studio Butterflies Stamp, Layering Stencils and Die and create a slimline card.

I made my background layer first by cutting a panel of Gina K Designs white cardstock with a slimline die for the top of my card. After that I die cut a lot of the PFS Leafy Branch Die also in white and glued them down over my white layer to make my own background paper. I then die cut this panel at the top right side and the bottom left side with the PFS Stitched Scallop Circle Die. I let the die hang over the sides of the card a bit before I starting cutting. I die cut a couple more of the circle dies and adhered them under the die cuts from the background layer to give them some dimension. I then dusted them very lightly with my yellow & orange blending brushes (without putting anymore ink on them) to give them a little color. I glued them back onto the background layer along the center part of the circle.

Next I made my Butterflies. These are some the easiest butterflies to put together! For this set there are five different stencils to create these butterflies. For each stencil just pick a color and start blending. I picked Lemon Drop, Sweet Mango, Tangerine Twist, Peach Bellini and Charcoal Brown from Gina K Designs. I also used Peach Fuzz, Marigold and Apricot from Pinkfresh Studio. I actually made two sets of the butterflies — one a tiny bit lighter than the other.

After all of Butterflies were stenciled, I placed them in my MISTI and stamped them in either Chocolate Brown or Kraft. I then re-stamped them again in VersaMark and heat embossed them with GKD Clear Embossing powder. I placed a lot of pop dots under the wings of the butterflies to make them look like they were fluttering in the air! There are two sets of stenciled butterflies and a layer of the same butterfly die cut in vellum so each has three total layers!

For the die cut sentiment I took a small piece of white cardstock and with my blending brushes I inked up the bottom half of the paper with yellow (Wild Dandelion) ink and the top part with orange (Sweet Mango) ink and blended the two colors together towards the middle. Once it was dry I die cut the word "Grateful" out of it and then die cut the sentiment two more times and adhered all three layers together for more dimension. I stamped the words "For You" on a piece of Sweet Mango cardstock and cut it out with a die cut banner. The sentiment die, cardstock and ink are all from Gina K Designs.

The last thing that I did was adhere the top layer to a piece of Sweet Mango cardstock that was die cut from a scalloped slimline die set from Gina Marie Designs and then adhered everything onto a Wild Dandelion card base. I also added jewels on the butterflies backs with Clear Jewels from Katscappiness and yellow & orange jewels from Queen & Company.

Thank You Card - Mod Squad Challenge with Kitchen Sink Stamps

Hello Crafters! I have created a Mini Slimline Thank You card for Maria Colosimo of Kitchen Sink Stamps. She has the most beautiful stamp sets that I've ever seen! They make very detailed and realistic images. The Modsquad Challenge is to create a Thank You card for Maria using Kitchen Sink Stamps.

I used the very first stamp set that I ever purchased from Kitchen Sink - Hearts & Roses. To create each rose and leaf image there are three to four stamps that you just layer with coordinating ink colors to achieve the intricate and detailed final images. All of her stamps are so detailed and fun to create.

I started with the flowers and used inks from Gina K Designs and Pinkfresh Studio from the palest pink to a really pigmented pink to achieve the look of the roses pictured. This set does not have a die set to match but Kitchen Sink Stamps offers an SVG file with their sets. I can use that SVG file on my Cricut Maker or Explore to cut out all of the images (and as many as I want). After I cut the images with my Cricut I just stamp the cut outs.

I die cut the white and teal cardstock with the Pinkfresh Studio Mini Slimline Die Cut Bundle. Then I used the Harvest Stencil from Gina K Designs and a pink ink to create a soft background. I die cut the vase from GKD Fearless Joy stamp & Die set to place my roses in and inked it in a teal color.

The 'Grateful' sentiment is a GKD die from the new Fluttering Fall Bundle.

While I was stamping these beautiful roses I decided to grab more coordinating ink colors and made many more roses in different colors for future projects. They are so addicting to make!

Love At All Times

Hello Crafters! I have a card to share that I have wanted to do for a while. It took some time to make it but I am so happy with the final outcome!

The stamp set is Love At All Times from Gina K Designs. The bottom sentiment is from the same set but the top sentiment is from GKD You Make Me Smile. I heat embossed both sentiments with GKD white embossing powder and die cut them into strips.

I colored the flowers with my Copic markers (this is why it took a while to complete this card. I am not the best Copic artist!)

After I colored my flowers I stamped the same flower image on to some GKD Masking Magic and fussy cut it out. I placed the Masking Magic over the main flower image to protect the Copic coloring. Then I used a large background stamp from Stampin' Up and stamped over the entire card with GKD Whisper ink.

All cardstock is Gina K Designs - white, black and whisper.

I added some black jewels from Queen & Co.

I learned a few things while making this card - I absolutely love Whisper cardstock and ink, I also love trying new techniques, and although I don't use my Copics as much as I should, I do love coloring with them and it's very relaxing!

Time To Coast Masculine Birthday Card

Hello Crafters! I made this card for my nephews birthday. It was out of my comfort zone - I rarely make masculine cards!

I am also entering this card on the Seize the Birthday Challenge - #221 By the Sea!

So here is my masculine birthday card!

I don't make too many masculine cards so when I need them I struggle with creating them. But I recently bought a new stamp set from Gina K Designs called Time to Coast and it is perfect for so many occasions including masculine cards.

This card is for my "little" nephew. Not really! Even though I am his Aunt, I am younger — by six months! So we grew up almost like brother & sister.

I stamped the sailboat on a piece of white cardstock that is 5.5" x 4.25". I like to start with my cardstock a little bit bigger than I need because I will be die cutting it down later. I also stamped another sailboat onto a piece of GKD masking magic masking paper that I fussy cut out. I carefully placed my masking paper sailboat over the stamped one on the cardstock. With the masked boat in place, I take a piece of scratch paper and place the straight edge on the cardstock where the 'horizon' would be and hold it in place. Using my blending brush I ink the bottom half with GKD Sea Glass, Blue Lagoon and Tranquil Teal. After I was satisfied with my 'water' I replaced the scratch paper to the bottom and lined up the straight edge with the top of the blue 'water' to start working on the sky.

I used the Cloud Edger Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and GKD Ocean Mist to create billowing clouds. I then used the Sunshine Stencil from GKD and Lemon Drop ink to create the sun and sun rays. After the sky and water are finished I carefully peel the sailboat mask off. Now it doesn't have any of the inks on it and I can color it in with another coloring medium.

I used GKD Master Layout #1 to die cut the panel out and a piece of Tranquil Teal. I stamped the sentiment onto the bottom of the front panel but made a little mistake. Instead of starting all over, I re-stamped part of the sentiment onto a piece of Tranquil Teal Cardstock and die cut it out with a banner from GKD Master Layout #3 and adhered it over the 'mistake'! I stamped a few birds in black ink in the sky and used a Sakura white Gelly Roll pen to draw in some whitecaps into the blue water. I asked my nephew what his favorite colors are and that's what I choose to color the sailboat. I used my Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.

Now that the coloring and inking are done, I adhered the layers together and put them onto a Kraft top folding card base.

I even continued the theme to the inside of the card and on the outside of the envelope (which I forgot to photograph). This stamp is also from the Time to Coast stamp set.

Gina K. Designs Color Challenge

This week there was a color challenge in the FaceBook group Gina K Designs & Stamp TV. The colors that I got from this photo are Blue Denim, Tranquil Teal, Key Lime, Jelly Bean Green and Fresh Asparagus inks — all from Gina K Designs.

Here is the challenge photo:

I love the colors but I didn't want to do a nature landscape. The first stamp set that I thought of was Melanie Muenchinger's Fresh Flowers Stamp & Die set! After using it I fell in love with it and I will be making more cards with this set — a lot more!

This card is inspired by Melanie! It's a Mini Slimline card and measures 6.5" x 3.5"

Melanie did a fantastic job designing this gorgeous set — and there are dies to match!!! There are multiple flowers, stems, leaves and beautiful vases included in the set.

I picked one of the vases and stamped it twice in GKD Blue Denim and Tranquil Teal. It helped the blending of the two colors to actually use my blending brush to tap the color onto the stamp instead of putting the stamp pad directly to the stamp. The blending brush gave it a much more softer look and the colors blended so much better. I then stamped two flowers Tranquil Teal with Blue Denim in the flower centers and die cut both flowers and the vase with my Vagabond 2.

For the card background I used the GKD Harvest Flourish stencil and inked it with Key Lime heavier in the center and a little more lightly towards the edges. I knew where I wanted the flowers & the vase to go so I stamped the stems and leaves on the panel so that when it was finished they looked like they were trialing up and to the right. I stamped the stems in Fresh Asparagus. With the leaves I used my blending brush technique like I did with the vase. I first stamped the leaves in Jelly Bean Green then I added the darker Fresh Asparagus with my brush and tapped it at the base of each leaf stamp.

I finished the card by rubbing Key Lime ink very lightly with my blending brush at the very bottom. This grounds the vase so it won't appear to be 'floating' on the card. I adhered the vase and flowers to the card with pop dots and stamped the sentiment in Blue Denim. This top layer is adhered onto a piece of Tranquil Teal cardstock and then both were adhered to a Key Lime card base with a piece of foam in between to give it a little depth. I used PinkFresh Studio Mini Slimline Bundle Set for the layers.

I hope that you will be inspired to get a stamp set out that you haven't used yet and create something special! I have more cards waiting to be posted that were created for and inspired by a few more challenges.

Happy Birthday Slimline Card

Hello Crafters! I have another card to share with you today (yes, I am on a crafting roll)! My little blog hasn't seen this much activity in a long time but crafting is my outlet and personal therapy.

Today I have a slimline birthday card that I made for the Seize the Birthday blog. Slimline cards are not new but they have made a very popular comeback recently and I love making them. Since they came back on the scene in the last couple of years many companies have released slimline dies. I bought one set in 2020 but ONLY one since I figured that I could always cut a rectangle with my paper trimmer. Hahaha, THAT didn't last long! I now have several slimline die sets! Slimline cards are usually 9"x4" or 8.5"x3.5". I have only made the latter size since it uses a little less cardstock. Slimline cards will fit into a regular sized business envelope (a #9 or a #10) without any extra postage.

For this card I used one of my new favorite companies, Pinkfresh Studio. They have the most amazing layering stencils! They make me feel like a 'real' artist after I finish. This stencil set is called Heartfelt Thanks and I stenciled it with Pinkfresh Studio inks in three different shades of pink, two shades of green and a yellow. After I stenciled the design I fussy cut it out on the right side only and popped it up with pop dots it over another panel that I stenciled with the Pinkfresh stencil called Horizontal Stripes. I then layered them over a panel that I die cut with a Catherine Pooler die called Post This (thanks Sue 😊).

For the sentiment, I inked a piece of white cardstock with the darkest pink that I used in my stenciling and die cut the word 'Birthday' from Gina K Designs from it. If you ever need a certain color of cardstock to die cut but don't have it just use your inks! I also die cut the word out of white cardstock four more times and adhered them all on top of each other to create a very dimensional die cut. I then die cut the shadow out of vellum. I stamped the phrase "wishing you a happy" from Gina K Designs Lace Flowers stamp set in the same pink color and die cut it out with the banner die from GKD Master Layout #3 die set.

After putting the card together I added pink jewels from Queen & Co.

A Mod Squad Challenge, A Thank You Card & Gina K Designs

Hello Crafts! This month the Mod Squad Challenge Blog is giving thanks to their sponsors and this week the thanks goes to Gina Krupsky of Gina K Designs. It is so appropriate that this card is for Gina since I started following Gina, watching her weekly videos, making cards along with her (and buying as much as I can hide from my DH 😂), and joining her online group at the very start of the lockdowns last year 😷! Through all of this and with Gina's creative inspiration it really helped me get my mind off of what terrible things were going on in the world. So I am grateful for Gina being so uplifting and motivating me to continue to create. I am very honored to make a thank you card for her!

I used Caring Flowers and Sketched Flowers Stamp Sets to create this card. I stamped the flowers from the Caring Flowers set in GKD Black ink. I then colored the entire image with my Prismacolor pencils and gamsol. If you've never colored with pencils and gamsol you need to watch this video. Gina shows you exactly how to do this!

After coloring, I used a black glaze pen and a white Gel Roll pen (both by Sakura) to define the stamens in the center of the three flowers. I die cut the panel down with a Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables die and die cut a black cardstock layer with a GKD Master Layout #1 die.

I then stamped the sentiment from the Sketched Flowers stamp set in VersaMark and heat embossed it with GKD black embossing powder.

I adhered the top two layers onto a Tranquil Teal card base. I always love to add a little something to finish my cards off so I grabbed Gina's Clear Dew Drops and glued a few here and there on the card using Connect Glue!

I stamped a sentiment on the inside from the Friendship Blooms stamp set and stamped two of the inside corners with the Caring Flowers stamp in Tranquil Teal. I even stamped the front corner and back flap of the envelope with the same stamp.

My Thank You card is finished and ready to send to Gina! She gives so much of herself to all of us each week and I'm just giving her a small bit back to let her know that everything that she does is very much appreciated.

Hello Crafters! I've decided to take on a few card challenges and the first one is over at Color Hues. Their challenge is to use Yellow & Pink as the focal color.

As soon as I saw this challenge I knew immediately that I wanted to create something with my new Coneflower dies from Honey Bee Stamps! I love this set and it's so hard to not want to grab it each time that I want to make a card. Here is my card!

I die cut the flower from Gina K Designs heavyweight white cardstock and blended GKD Wild Dandelion, Sweet Corn, Prickly Pear, Dusty Rose and Passionate Pink inks onto the six different layers of the flower and adhered them together. I popped the petals up using pop dots.

I used a stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and two of the yellow inks to make my own background for the card. I cut three large and three small frame dies from PinkFresh Studio and adhered them together for a little dimension and placed them on my background panel and used pop dots to adhere the coneflower in the middle. The sentiment is a stamp and die also from PinkFresh Studio that I heat embossed in gold. Gold just seemed to compliment the GKD Kraft cardstock that I cut my frames from. To finish it off, I added some yellow & pink gems from Queen & Co.

This is my first time playing along with the color challenge at Color Hues and I can't wait for their next challenge!

Christmas Cards in July using Gina K. Designs

For the next set of cards that I created I used Gina K Designs Sparkle and Shine stamp set. This is a wonderful set that includes the images below plus a round ornament and Christmas tree. I stamped the image and sentiment in VersaMark and embossed it with silver embossing powder (on light blue cardstock) & gold embossing powder (on red cardstock). I die cut the sentiments and adhered them with pop dots to the 'ornaments' then die cut the card panels and layered them onto silver and gold cardstock. I used GKD master layout dies. I then added sequins to the fronts.

Christmas in July Cards using Gina K. Designs

Here is my next set of my Christmas cards using Gina's Holiday Tapestry stamp set. This set is so versatile! Although it's a Christmas set the tapestry images can be used all year. Again I embossed the image and sentiments in gold & silver and layered the card panels on gold & silver cardstock. I also made some gold embossed images on red and gold cardstock but I didn't get photos of them. Gold and silver sequins were also added.

Christmas in July Cards using Gina K Designs

Hello Crafters! Since we only have six months until Christmas (gasp!), it's time to start working on this years cards. But first I wanted to post the cards that I made in 2020 since I hadn't before. I made roughly 45 - 50 cards last year for not only friends and family but also for a card swap for members of a Facebook group that I belong to. I made 4 different card designs changing the colors slightly for each design.

This first one is probably my favorite! I used Gina K Designs Wreath Builder template, Holiday Wreath Builder stamp set and the Scripty Holiday stamp set. Using the wreath builder makes creating cards so simple! Once I knew which stamps I wanted to use and a design that I was happy with, I made the first card. After that first one was complete, the rest were easy and I made them all while watching TV.

I used two different ribbons from my stash and red Stickles for the berries.

A Quick Lawn Fawn Magic Picture Changer Card

Today while I was packing up a big box of crafting supplies to send to a dear friend of mine I decided to make her a very quick card. I pulled out a die set that I haven't used in a few months (well, cause of being shut in for a while, I may not have used it since last summer but I really have lost all sense of time, LOL)! I still believe that this set is so amazing and very versatile. I've created cards with cutesy images, floral images, and even actual photographs — which the recipients have loved! But this card was just a quick one to show my friend how incredible the mechanics of this die set is so.

(I am telling you up front that my paper choices aren't that good; one or more are just screaming at me. But the glue had dried and so I stuck a fork in it & I'm calling her done😂!)

I knew two things: I wanted to use the Magic Picture Changer die and I wanted to use the My Favorite Things I Miss Your Hugs stamp set. I bought this stamp set last year but never pulled it out until today. There are a lot of sentiments that can be used not just because of the pandemic but anytime you just haven't seen someone in a while. The world from the MFT stamp was stamped with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Tumbled Glass and Peeled Paint. I found that the Distress Oxide Inks laid down much nicer, the colors were smooth and very even on the paper and they didn't bead up like some dye inks that I tried especially on the solid round blue world. The sentiment was stamped right over that in Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide Ink.

All of the patterned paper is from a 6x6 pad from Authentique. My intention was to cut one layer for the top of the base cardstock but I picked up a FRAME die by mistake & die cut my chosen favorite paper. After I realized that I grabbed the wrong die, I also realized that the patterned paper that I had picked out was the last one in the pad - so there goes the only sheet that I had! My second pick was the dark blue swirls patterned paper but after I adhered it to the base I was not happy with it. In frustration I grabbed the frame die pieces that I had die cut by mistake and used the back of the inside piece (you know the part that we usually throw away😜) and put it on top the first layer of the card base. And you know what, it's not that bad! The blue swirl paper is die cut with Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables and the light blue piece is die cut from My Favorite Things Die-Namics Stitched Rectangle Scallop Frames.

Now for the 'Magic':

You see "Wish You Were Here" when the tab is pulled! I admit that once these types of cards are finished I can't help myself from pulling that tab in & out several times (almost like playing with a new toy!) just in awe of how cool it is and how easy it was to make it! They really are fun and addicting to make.

The sentiment that I chose for the inside of this card is also from the MFT's stamps set and says, "When I Do Get To Hug You, Prepare For A Hell Of A Squeeze"! And I stamped "A Paper Hug For You" on the back of the envelope flap!

My friend will get a kick out of this and I hope that you, too, enjoyed my card today!

Foiled Butterfly Slimline Card

Hey Crafters! Today I have a card that I created for the Beautiful Butterflies Mod Squad Challenge. This challenge gave me the chance to use a new (to me) product - Gina K Designs/Therm-O-Web Stamp N Foil Foil-Mates Detail Sheets. I recently purchased a laminator, toner sheets, and a lot of foils! These Foil-Mates are called Butterfly Kisses and also has a stamp set and die set that comes separately (but of course I had to have them all!)

I decided to make a slimline card so I could put more of those butterflies on my card. I ink blended four colors onto my card front - Gina K's Passionate Pink, Sweet Mango, Turquoise Sea and Wild Lilac. Part of the butterfly wings come ready to foil but I stamped them in the same inks that I used on the card front and then I ran them through my laminator with the same color of Gina K Fancy Foils. It is so hard to see the beautiful and shiny foil in photographs unfortunately.

I used a sentiment from Lawn Fawn Butterfly Kisses (just a fun coincidence that both companies have the same name!) and heat embossed it with white embossing powder from Gina K.

I die cut the sentiment and the postage stamp shape from Gina K Designs Master Layout #4. All of the elements are popped up on pop dots.

I hope that you like my card for today! My new laminator has been getting a workout and I will post more cards that I've made using foiled elements and more info on the laminator itself. I will be adding this card to the Mod Squad Challenge! Thanks so much for visiting!

Cityscape Birthday Card

Hello crafty friends! It's been a few months since I last posted anything. There was Christmas, a Christmas card exchange (I made 30 cards for that plus even more for family and friends!), getting both vaccines (YEA!), and then 'Snowmageddon' here in North Texas 😖 and we had to find warm accommodations since our home had no electricity and no heat for several days! But now I'm back in my craft room and crafting away!

These City Landscape dies from Impression Obsession has been in my stash for quite some time and I decided that it was time to use it! It reminds me of the year that I lived in NYC. For this card I needed something a little more masculine so I kept the colors muted and I also wanted to create a slimline card. These are so much fun to make and they have a lot more 'real estate' than the smaller A2 cards! I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks for the background and used the Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer to spritz some water droplets on it. The die was cut a few times in each color to stretch it out across the bottom of the card. I added strip sentiments from Simon Says Stamp (so quick and easy) and two enamel dots at the bottom. There are also Clear Droplets from Kat Scrappiness scattered through the sky.

So Grateful For You

Since it's Thanksgiving week I am continuing with a card that can be used for Thanksgiving or just to send to someone that you feel grateful for.

I used Gina K's Wreath Builder Template again (Yes! I love this whole system!) with the Wreath Builder Stamp Set and Gina K inks. The wreath is on a 4 inch square white cardstock and after stamping the wreath I die cut a circle right in the middle of it. Then I stamped the sentiment onto green cardstock and placed it behind the wreath and popped up the wreath panel with pop dots. I punched the bottom of the green cardstock with a Martha Stewart border punch.

I finished embellishing my card by adding an older piece of Stampin' Up ribbon (It pays to hoard a little 😂).

And again I added some cardstock layers and a little stamping to the inside of the card.

I am so grateful for my husband, my daughter, my son & his wife and my three wonderful grandchildren. I am also grateful for my sister and brother (we are the only ones from our immediate family left 😢), and the rest of my extended family and friends! I'm grateful for my health and my home. Even with so much uncertainty and fear going on in the world this Thanksgiving I know that I am blessed and I am so thankful to God for all the blessings I have!

Hello Crafters! I have a Thanksgiving card to share today. I really enjoyed creating this one because I used some new (to me anyway) tools and techniques. Most of the supplies are from Gina K Designs - my new favorites!

Gina has a Wreath Builder system that is so easy to use but the results are spectacular!

With these two templates you can create the most beautiful stamped wreaths for cards and so much more. Gina has several wreath builder stamp sets to go with the templates but you can really use any stamp set that has small to medium stamps included.

So here is the Thanksgiving card that I made with the Wreath Builder -

Along with the Wreath Builder Template I used the Wreath Builder Stamp Set, the Autumn Wreath Builder Stamp Set, the Take Care Stamp Set and Gina K inks to create the gorgeous wreath at the center of my card. I stamped the sentiment and the circle border - both from the Autumn Wreath Builder Stamp Set - then cut it out with a circle die cut which I popped up with pop dots in the wreaths center.

The lower background looks like patterned paper, doesn't it? Nope, its plain white cardstock that I used a stencil on. It's the Gina K Designs Sassy Stripes Stencil (love that name 😊)

I turned the stencil so that the stripes were vertical, taped the paper to it and, using a blending brush, blended the ink onto the cardstock. Always start blending with a very light hand and if you need more color just add a little more ink but use that light hand. Trust me, a lighter touch is key to blending!

Since I don't have some of those 'fancy' dies, I took a die that I do have and used it in a different way! The bottom scalloped on the top two layers was cut using a Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangle die. I put the corner of my two top layers into the corner of the die making sure that the rest of the card was on top of the die as it went into my Vagabond.

For a finishing touch, I added three coordinating buttons and some twine.

Here is a peak inside my card. I love putting a little something on the inside to make it look just as nice as the front of the card. I used the same stamps that I used in the wreath on the front and stamped them on the bottom inside corner.

A Unicorn Card for Someone Special

I was gifted this unicorn stamp and die set from my friend Cindy whom I met in one of my favorite Facebook groups, Gina K Designs & StampTV Friends. I knew exactly what I was going to use it for - my grandnieces birthday. Fairy-Tale Friends Stamp and Die set is from My Favorite Things. After stamping the images I colored them with my Copies and added some glimmer with a clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen. For the background I used the cloud stencil from Lawn Fawn and Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Worn Lipstick, Wild Honey, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Tumbled Glass and Shaded Lilac to create the rainbow-colored clouds & then added a few iridescent sequins. I stamped the sentiment onto a strip of clear vellum with Hero Arts Unicorn White pigment ink then embossed it with clear embossing powder. After embossing the sentiment I realized that it disappeared in front of the card so I used a blending brush to rub a little Shaded Lilac on the back of the vellum and that made the sentiment pop.

Usually I have more trouble with the inside of a card but this one was fun to decorate and embellish. I just hope my grandniece loves glitter 😁

Halloween Cards

Yes, I know, Halloween is over but I'd still like to share the cards that I made for my and my friends grandchildren this year.

For this first card I used Gina K. Designs Haunts and Harvest stamp set for the trio of ghost and the sentiment and used the coordinating die set to die cut the ghosts. Gina's inks were used with her Fizzy stencil to create the orange and purple background and I then cut it out with the Master Layouts 1 Die Cut set along with a piece of black cardstock. I layered those two onto a tent fold 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" base.

To add a demential element, I glued googly eyes to the ghosts with Gina K Connect Glue.

Did you really think that I could stop there? Of course not! I had to add an Action Wobble behind the three ghosts to make them even more interactive! My grandson loved it!

For the next two cards I used my beloved die set from Lawn Fawn - the Magic Picture Changer die set. I still love using this set and I can always find so many different ways to incorporate other stamp sets with it. Gina K's stamps from Haunts and Harvest were used again along with the fence die from Tim Holtz and the grass border die from Lawn Fawn.

The Magic Picture Changer is an interactive set so once you pull up the tabs at the top you get this:

The last card is created using a technique similar to partial die cutting. I created a side opening, landscape card base and after scoring and folding it I cut about 1/3 off of the top front. I then cut out the ghosts again from Haunts and Harvest in white cardstock then used the die to cut the bottom portion of the die from the front of the card base. I layered pieces of patterned paper to the front and inside. The sentiment is heated embossed in white.
