Work From Home

10 best (and real) work-at-home jobs

Searching for jobs you can do from home used to be a matter of scanning the Sunday classifieds for offers to get rich quick by stuffing envelopes.

Now, exposure to at-home employment opportunities has exploded, and a wide range of job ads are just a mouse click away. But so are the scams.

In 2007, when The Rat Race Rebellion began tracking at-home jobs, there were 30 scams for every legitimate opportunity. Now, with 4,500 to 5,000 work-at-home job ads screened weekly, the website finds 60 phonies for every one that's for real, says Christine Durst, co-founder and principal of Staffcentrix LLC, the company that owns and manages RatRaceRebellion.com.

Neverthless, there's no shortage of people who dream of beating the odds and earning a living from home.

Durst, whose company Staffcentrix develops home-based and virtual career training programs, says people interested in work-at-home jobs primarily are:

Parents who say they want to spend more time with their children

Trailing military spouses who, according to Durst, by virtue of their spouse's career need to pick up and move every few years

Retirees needing supplemental income

People with disabilities

It's difficult to be a good parent and simultaneously work well at home, says Durst, because most jobs require blocks of uninterrupted time to accomplish tasks, and children's schedules are less than predictable. For those who do choose to walk the tightrope between paid work and parenting, consider deadline-oriented work. Durst says it's generally better for those with younger children than schedule-oriented hourly work.

Steven Rothberg, president and founder of CollegeRecruiter.com, says "an increasing minority" of entry-level workers, are attracted to these gigs. He says he believes social introverts make good candidates. "They like working with people (but) they like interacting by email and by being on the phone. They dislike working in person with a lot of others," he says, because of meetings and other "time-sucking problems" at an office.

Self-motivation, discipline, job skills and independence are key characteristics for at-home workers, says Stephanie Foster, a former medical transcriptionist who runs the website HomeWithTheKids.com.

Employers may check your credit before making an employment decision. See what they see by checking your credit report at myBankrate.

A growing number of employers appear to believe telecommuting is a good deal for them as well. It reduces overhead expenses, allows access to talented workers who may not be available locally, provides off-hours support and helps retain employees, says Sara Sutton Fell, CEO of FlexJobs.com, a website that aggregates hand-screened telecommuting/work-at-home jobs. "We've seen a real broadening of the audience of both employers and job seekers."

Consider these 10 jobs -- some rather traditional and others unexpected -- for interesting at-home work and good (if competitive) prospects

I wrote you a few days ago to tell you about a survey site that
I saw on the news that pays you to just fill out surveys voicing
your opinion about products so that major companies know what
products to promote and which ones to throw away before they lose
millions on them.

= = > http://harry8888.chadmich.hop.clickbank.net

This site is truly the only survey website on the net that is legit
and pays there members just for filling out quick surveys. The head
marketing guys at a few huge multi million dollar companies went on
live TV and stated that they use this site to get opinions from regular
people on products before they put them in the market place and
risk millions!

= = > http://harry8888.chadmich.hop.clickbank.net

The only bad thing about this is that millions of people saw it
from all over the world and their members area filled up way past
capacity within 2 days of the broadcast. THERE ARE NO MEMBERSHIPS
LEFT.

As soon as I first heard about this site I reserved a handful of
memberships for my closest friends and family, and lucky for you I
reserved 7 extra memberships.

= = > http://harry8888.chadmich.hop.clickbank.net

These are the last 7 memberships.... After these 7 memberships are
gone you will not be able to get in and cash in on this incredible
company.

I am sending this email to just a handful of my subscribers who I see
the most potential from and who I feel will use this system to its full
potential and pull hundreds from these fortune 500 companies each day.

= = > http://xxxx.chadmich.hop.clickbank.net

Congratulations because you are one of these few members but act fast
because there are only 7 memberships left. I hope you read this in
time to secure yours!

7 Easy and Best Ways to Earn MOney Online Without Investment

here really are great ways that enable you to make some easy money and, probably the best way is to get yourself an online job, but you can not help it but wonder: what is the most suitable job for me according to my skills? This is a list that you could make a choice from:

1. Blog for Ad Revenue: Start a blog on a specific topic that you love and then, build yourself a huge reader base and then monetise the blog and make more money from the ads displayed on your site.

2. Be a Forum Moderator: Keep out the spam and build a community and you can earn a little cash on the side moderating these forums.

3. Write Articles for Websites: Search engines love content hence the phrase, "Content is King" on websites. Keeping your internet real estate updated with fresh, high quality content is a chore for most website owners and often outsourced. If you are a good writer with experience in an area that is compatible with the niche, you can make a living off of it.

4. Open an In-Game Store: Another one from Second-Life. Many people have made big bucks selling t-shirts, pets, and just about anything else you can imagine in the game.

5. Be a Tester: A paid game testing job is hard to come by, since so many people will do it for free, but they do exist.

6. Write Software for Resale: I have personally bought tools on a number of occasions I knew I could write myself just because they were cheap enough to justify buying them instead of spending the time to write it.

7. Write a Web Component: I am sure you have bought fancy drop down menus, charting, combo boxes, etc before. If not with your own money then for a project at work. Write a component like that and sell it.

What? You do not know how to do any of the above? Well, it is not a problem at all! Go with affiliate marketing then! What? You do not know what that is too?

There are products out there that show you how you can become an individual who specialises in affiliate marketing.

"It is not rocket science is it? You simply find some products, probably on clickbank. You find people who want to buy these products. And then you send the people that you have collected to the products! (...and you get paid a nice juicy commission of course)".

See it is as easy as it seems! Absolutely easier than spending the day writing or programming?

TIPS TO MAKE LEGIT MONEY ONLINE

Are there ways to make legit money online? The simple answer is 'YES'. While most people are still looking for these elusive online jobs, there are people that have found a great way to earn a living from home.

The following will make your search of that perfect online job both successful and rewarding:

My 5 tips to make legit money online:

5. Do some research. Do they have testimonials on their page? Are there success stories? If they can;t back up any of their claims, you should avoid them.

4. Don't be disappointed. I see people all day complaining about all the scams and guess what? They're the ones that give up and don't succeed. Look at everything as a learning experience and you'll continue to grow.

3. Sign up for a trial Most people are scared to spend a few bucks and look at it as 'wasted money'. Most products you purchase subscribe to, have a 'money back guarantee' or a 'free evaluation period'. This is a great way to get in and see if it's what you want.

2. Find Something you enjoy. If you don't find something you enjoy to pursue online then you likely aren't cut-out to work online.

1. Commit and follow thru! Most people sign up for free courses and don't want to spend any money. The simple truth is that nothing in life is free. Spend a few bucks on a program as the money will make you more committed to follow thru.

I know I looked for legit online employment for quite a while before I found something that works. I'm sure with enough drive and perseverance; you too can be your own boss!

Connecting Two Routers Wired to Create a Single Lan

2009-12-08T23:49:00.000-08:00

You have one router running in your network. This router connects to the internet. Now you want to hook up a second router (e.g. a wireless router to have wireless access) in your network connecting both with an ethernet cable. The following is in most cases the best approach for home networks. You'll find similar answers with some screenshots in the Linksys Easy Answers, e.g. 4579

The setup:

1. Unplug the second router from anything. Connect a single computer to the router. Do not connect the second router to the first at the moment!

2. Configure the router at http://192.168.1.1/

3. Change the LAN IP address of the second router from 192.168.1.1 to a free address in your LAN (e.g. 192.168.1.2 should be O.K. if the first router is also a Linksys router). The address you change to (192.168.1.2) must not be used by any other device with static IP address in your network nor should be assigned by the DHCP server your network. A default Linksys router uses 192.168.1.1 itself and the DHCP server assigns 192.168.1.100-149.

4. Turn off the DHCP server on the second router.

5. Save the setting.

6. Unplug the computer from the second router.

7. Connect an ethernet cable from a numbered LAN port of the first router to a numbered LAN port of the second router. Do not use the Internet/WAN port on the second router!

8. That's it! If you don't know or don't want to know more about networking you don't have to read the rest here.

What do you have now?

The second router is connected through a LAN port to your existing network. This basically means that the router part of the device is actually not used. So you have a router device that you don't operate as router in your network. Whatever you connect to the second router either through one of the remaining LAN ports or through a wireless if it has one, is directly connected to your LAN. Devices connected to the second router use the DHCP server of the first router to get an IP address. They use the first router directly for internet access. Everything is connected to a single larger ethernet network. Everything is in a single "broadcast" domain.

If the second router is not a wireless one, you basically have a few more ports in your network. In that case it might have been cheaper to get a simple switch/hub instead to extend your network.

Please remember: as the second router is not connected through the Internet/WAN port many configurations and functions of the second router won't work simply because they require an internet connection on the router itself. Some examples are: access restrictions, dynamic DNS service, port forwardings, MAC address clone, the firewall... All these things must be configured on the first router and only there.

Why is this better than connecting the second router with the Internet port?

A router is a separating network element. It separates two networks and allows certain traffic to cross. Sometimes this is necessary in a network setup but for most home networks it only creates a lot of obstacles.

1. In default Gateway mode the second router does network address translation (NAT). This means computers connected to the second router can connect to computers connected to the first router but not in the opposite direction.

2. If you use Router mode on the second router: you have to configure "routes" on the first router and possibly your computer connected to the first router so that IP packets find their way into the subnet of the second router.

3. You have two separate ethernet networks and thus two "broadcast" domains. A broadcast in the first router's subnet reaches all computers connected there. The same applies to the second router. A broadcast will never cross the second router, though. This is an obstacle for applications that depend on broadcasting to locate other computers and services. Windows file and printer sharing is one example here. With the second router in between, computers on one side do not know about computers on the other side. You cannot search your workgroup for the computer on the other side even when they use the identical workgroup name. You will be able to access the other computer using the IP address directly (e.g. \\192.168.1.100\share) but that's usually a hassle and the IP address may change if it is assigned by the DHCP server to the computer. There are ways to deal with some of these issues (e.g. save the host names in lmhosts files...) but all this requires more effort and attention to keep everything up-to-date.

4. Port forwardings become more complicated. If you need a port forwarding (i.e. you want a port on a computer in your network to be accessible from the internet) on a computer connected to the second router you have to setup two forwardings: one on the first router to the second router and one on the second router to the computer.

5. If you have two wireless routers: you cannot roam between both routers without loosing the connection. This is simply because if a wireless computers moves from one router to the other it needs a different IP address.

6. The whole configuration becomes more complicated: you always have to think about where to configure what, e.g. dynamic DNS service, access restrictions, ...

Bottom line: unless you have good reasons why you must have some computers separated from the other computers in your network, there is no good reason to in a home network to do so. For normal home networking with simple to use file and printer sharing it is better to connect the second router as suggested in this post..

Indian Heritage : Paintings

2009-11-19T04:12:00.000-08:00

Painting as an art form has flourished in India from very early periods as is evident from literary sources and also from the remnants that have been discovered.

Indian Paintings can be broadly classified as the murals & miniatures. Murals are huge works executed on the walls of solid structures. Classic examples are the paintings in Ajantha & Kailasantaha temple.

Miniature paintings are those executed on a very small scale on perishable material such as paper, cloth, etc., Though this style had been perfected by artisans under the various rules, not many remain today. Prime examples are the Rajasthani & Mughal miniatures.

Contemporary artists have kept up to the times & excel in their modern works, giving free expression to their imagination & artistic liberty.
