How much time do women spend blogging and socializing online?

I am very curious about how moms spend their time and how they go through each day. I am the type of person who enjoys quiet time at home, so I guess because I find myself constantly going and going between family and work that sometimes I just wonder if there are much other people like me out there (duh, of course there are!). So, I asked my Work It! Mom (WIM) community how much time they spend blogging or socializing online. I spend probably about 2 hours a night on the average doing these things and sometimes I feel a little guilty about it because there are probably more things I can be doing around the house and such. I didn’t write any articles in the last few days on Dosh Dosh because I didn’t feel that I had anything interesting to say. It’s not entirely self-censorship: I just don’t like to write when there’s no way to inject a new perspective on any topic.

Many will publish content regularly because they feel a necessity to generate pageviews and maintain site freshness. Some fear that their subscribers will go away if they don’t update their site.

How to use Google Trends to drive tons of traffic to your site

I guess this post could be considered part 2 of How I went from making pennies a month to nearly $600 a month on Google Adsense.

I’ve recently discovered a great way to drive tons of traffic to my personal blog and I want to share with you exactly how I’ve achieved that.

I recently made the decision to stop doing sponsored posts on my blogs. Instead, I decided to just focus on building links and driving more traffic to increase my Adsense and affiliate income.

About 2 weeks ago I was getting an average of about 50-100 unique visitors a day over at Java-girl.org. Most of these visitors are regular readers who are good buddies and have stuck with me through all of my fickle blogging phases.

But what’s the #1 thing you need to make money on Adsense? Good old fashioned search engine traffic. This kind of traffic consists mostly of people who are on a mission and are frantically searching for something. When they arrive to your site they may not find exactly what they are looking for but they will keep on clicking in hopes of finding it. With proper ad placement your click through rate should start really increase from all this extra traffic!

One way to drive loads of traffic to your site is by posting about the hottest search topics on listed Google Trends. The hot topics are updated on an hourly basis. If you are having a bit of writer’s block and need some ideas you can get plenty here. Just visit this page and take a look at the hot topics. If you see something that sounds interesting and you think you can work it into a blog post then give it a shot! What have you got to lose right?

Terrible 2's and Teens, but have you heard of the Frightful 4's

just had a "battle of the wits" with the babygirl that left me feeling like i must be doing something or things wrong. i googled some child behavior information and came across quite a few sites that were very reassuring. as a parent, we all hear and talk about the terrible two's...prior to this search i don't recall anyone ever mentioning how the 4's is a "teen training" time or how this can also be a challenging age. i hope you find these articles reassuring as well read more

My friend, who is an excellent mom, was telling me this story over lunch about her four-year-old daughter, Ella. After a day of repeating the word “mama” seven million times, most of the time for no credible reasons, my friend Jill was reduced to the following dialog with her:

Ella: Mama, mama, mama.

Jill: Ella, you’re only allowed to say mama three more times today.

Ella: Mama…

Jill: That’s one.

Ella: Mama…

Jill: That’s two.

Ella: Mama, mama, mama…

Jill: Okay, three, four and five. That’s it, no more saying mama all day today…

This is the kind of conversation, that if heard from the outside, would sound absurd. But, you know exactly what she means–don’t you? Come on now…if you’re a mom you’ve been there. It’s like when you hear yourself saying something crazy like, “You’re going to sit there until you finish every last bite of that cupcake, mister.”
