Kali ini blog It’s My story akan membahas tentang tutorial cara membuat email Yahoo dengan cara yang praktis, mudah, dan berbahasa indonesia agar mudah dipahami bagi pemula sekalipun. Sebelumnya, apa sih pengertian email itu ? Email is a method of exchanging digital messages across the Internet or other computer networks. Email adalah sarana kirim mengirim surat melalui jalur jaringan komputer (misalnya Internet).
Selain untuk mengirim surat via internet, Email juga dapat digunakan untuk berbagai macam keperluan. Misalnya untuk mendaftar facebook atau mendaftar twitter.
Tutorial cara membuat email di yahoo indonesia :
1. Pertama masuk ke halaman login email yahoo, atau klik di sini daftar yahoo.
2. Selanjutnya kita akan menemui halaman dengan tampilan seperti pada gambar berikut.

3. Klik pada tombol “Create New Account”. Maka kita akan menemui halaman dengan tampilan seperti pada gambar di bawah. Isilah form pendaftaran dengan data-data yang diminta. Dilanjutkan dengan menekan tombol “Buat Account Saya”.

Keterangan :
- Nama Saya: isilah dengan nama depan dan nama belakang anda (bisa pakai nama samaran, terserah !)
- Jenis Kelamin : Pilih salah satu Laki atau perempuan
- Tanggal Lahir : Isilah dengan tanggal lahir seperti yang diminta
- Saya tinggal di : Pilih salah satu negara di mana anda tinggal
- ID Yahoo! dan Email : Isikan dengan nama email yang anda inginkan. Akhirannya bisa dipilih @yahoo.co.id, @yahoo.com, @ymail.com atau @rocketmail.com, terserah.
- Kata Sandi : Isikan dengan kata sandi (password) yang akan digunakan setiap kali akan sign login ke akun yahoo nantinya. Penggunaan huruf besar berpengaruh. Gunakan 6 hingga 32 karakter, dan jangan gunakan nama atau ID Yahoo! Anda.
- Ketik ulang Kata Sandi : Ulangi lagi kata sandi di atas
- Pertanyaan Keamanan : Ini nantinya akan digunakan jika anda misalnya lupa password emailnya. Bisa menggunakan pertanyaan keamanan ini untuk merecovery/mengembalikan password email anda. Pertanyaan bisa dipilih atau bisa membuat sendiri.
- Jawaban Anda : Isi dengan jawaban dari pertanyaan keamanan di atas.
- Ketik kode yang ditampilkan : Ketikkan kode angka dalam gambar seperti yang ditampilkan. Apabila anda sulit membacanya, bisa minta kode yang lain dengan menekan tombol “coba kode baru”.
4. Setelah menekan tombol “Buat Akun Saya”, maka anda akan menemui halaman konfirmasi dengan tampilan seperti pada gambar berikut,

5. Tekan tombol “lanjutkan”. Maka anda akan menemui halaman baru dengan tampilan seperti pada gambar di bawah ini.

6. Itu artinya email telah selesai dibuat.

Artikel download vidio youtube tanpa software kali ini adalah lanjutan dari artikel sebelumnya yang membahas cara download youtube video dengan menggunakan software.
Di kesempatan ini saya akan coba sharing bagaimana cara download video berformat FLV seperti misalnya youtube, facebook, metacafe dan lain-lain. Tapi cara downloadnya tanpa memakai software. Pertama kali, pada komputer kamu buka dulu Windows Explorer => Tools => Folder Option => View => Kemudian pilih Show Hidden Files and Folders dan hilangkan centang Hide extensions for known file types. Setelah selesai, sekarang mainkan / play videonya sampai selesai, kalau gak mau menonton dulu bisa sambil browsing atau ngopi dan merokok (bagi yang merokok).
Langkah kedua, Buka Temporary Internet Files. Caranya ? Jika menggunakan Mozilla Firefox lokasi temporary internet filesnya di C:Documents and SettingsNama User AndaLocal SettingsApplication DataMozillaFirefoxProfiles2n13k5n3.defaultCache (kode warna tersebut sesuai dengan komputer kamu)

Untuk Internet Explorer buka Browser IE klik menu tools > Internet Options > General > Setting > View Files
Nah disitu biasanya akan ada beberapa file, biasanya untuk hasil download -an dari facebook mempunyai ukuran yang relatif besar dan biasanya dalam ukuran Mb. Setelah dapat, kopi dan pastekan file tersebut di New Folder dan kasih nama terserah kamu yang penting kasih estensi sesuai file video. Kalau download dari youtube atau facebook biasanya berekstensi .flv. Misalnya,caradownloadtanpasoftware.flv, videojustinbieber.flv, dll.
Nah, sekarang kamu sudah berhasil menerapkan cara mendownload di Facebook atau youtube dengan Temporary Internet Files atau tanpa software.

Web Photo galary adalah Album Photo yang tampil di Web Page (Halaman Web), banyak cara untuk membuatnya bisa manual juga otomatis, untuk membuat yang otomatis banyak software yang menyediakan fasilitas ini, tapi saya melirik pada software Photoshop dengan kemudahannya, berikut caranya

[1] Buka Aplikasi Adobe Photoshop, saya menggunakan Adobe Photoshop 8 (CS)

[2] masuk ke File>Automate>Web Photo Galary... maka muncul tampilan berikut:

[3] Pada menu Style pilih layout / tampilan Album yang nanti akan muncul pada web

[4] pada kotak isian e-mail boleh diisi boleh tidak

[5] pada Source Image pilih Use:Folder untuk mengambil seluruh photo pada folder yang dipilih

Ø Kemudian Browse untuk memilih Folder Photo yang akan dimasukan ke dalam Album Photo, (sebelumnya anda kategorikan dulu photo yang akan dipilih dalam satu folder)

Ø Pada destination merupakan Hasil jadi penyimpanan Album, letakan menurut selera anda misalkan di C:\My Document.

[6] Pada Option anda bisa mengatur, Lebar/tinggi, warna teks, jenis huruf dan sebagainya

Atau anda bisa mengabaikannya untuk setting default

[7] Terakhir pilih OK dan tunggu hingga gambar selesai diatur otomatis oleh photoshop, dan hasil jadinya gambar akan di folderkan pada destination tadi yaitu:

In this tutorial I will try to apply effects such as X-Files logo, tutorialnya following:

[1] Select File> New

Then fill in the Width: 400pixels, Height: 200pixels> OK

[5] As just now Clone Chanal "Original" and give the name of White, then press Ctrl and click on the white Chanel for menyeleksi after the Expand by choosing Select> Modify> Expand ... input value of 2 pixels> ok, Tint pu

Banyak cara agar photo kian mempesona, salah satunya dengan membuat photo dua warna paduan hitam putih dan satu warna, contohnya seperti photo diatas

Ok langsung aja CaraNya :

[1] Buka Photo anda

[2] Seleksi Objek yang warnanya tidak akan di Rubah ke hitam putih, anda bisa gunakan lasso tool atau alat seleksi lainnya (baca tips cara menyeleksi)

[3] setelah dirasa cukup rapih, Tekan Ctrl+J untuk mengkopi layer yang diseleksi, sehingga pada palet layer muncul layer 1, yaitu layer yang di seleksi sebelumnya

[4] kemudian Klik/Sorot layer Background

[5] terakhir rubahlah warna pada layer background tersebut, tekan Ctrl+U dan geser Saturation ke kiri -100/-80 dan atur Hue ke arah kanan

Teknik Seleksi Menggunakan Quick Mask

Pekerjaan menyeleksi gambar terkadang sangat menyusahkan apalagi perlu ketelitian yang ekstra otomatis menyita tenaga kita, pada tutorial kali ini saya akan memberikan tips untuk menyeleksi secara cepat dan mudah dengan quick mask, ok langsung ke tutorialnya

[1] Pastikan Gambar/Foto yang akan diseleksi telah di buka
[2] Seleksi dulu sekitar objek menggunakan lasso tool ,

tidak harus rapi, asal-asalan aja dulu karna nanti akan diperbaiki pada proses masking

[3] tekan tombol Ctrl+Shift+i untuk membalikan seleksi

[4] tekan tombol Q dari keyboard untuk pindah ke mode quick mask, sehingga seleksi objek secara otomatis menjadi warna merah

[5] nah now is technical, way back before color Gini default position press button D, color Leadership Scale For Sport ali the default position ,look good and do Gini Use brushtool Meng if you use white foreground color and rub into the area quickmask (red ) means you enlargequickmask, but if you prefer black and then you zoom out quickmask, so quick to turn over and use the color button X on the keyboard

Create an Alarm Clock in Adobe Illustrator

Today we will be learning how to create a cute alarm clock in perspective in Adobe Illustrator. Some people tend to have problems with perspective, so if you are one of them, feel free to use a reference image if you need to.

We will create few ellipses, arrange them and with some nice gradients we will make a nice looking alarm clock. There is just one thing about perspective we should keep on mind. The most important aspects of perspective are size and distance. If you increase the distance between you and the object you are observing, you need to decrease the size of that object. That way you can achieve a nice depth effect in you illustrations.The final result should look like below:So, let’s get down to business.First we have to create few ellipses and arrange them in order to create nice perspective.

Step1

Grab the Ellipse Tool (L) from the Tool Panel and create an ellipse as shown in the picture below.

Step2

We will have to distort the ellipse a little bit. With the Direct Selection Tool (A) adjust the position of the anchor points and the angle of theirs handles. If you are unsure how to distort the ellipse, feel free to do this step later, after we have created some more elements for our Alarm clock. Basically, you should end up with something like this.

Step3

Grab the Ellipse Tool (L) from the Tool Panel and create the ellipse as shown in the picture below.

Step4

We are going to apply gradient immediately. This way we’ll be able to see if there’s something that needs to be fixed. We are going to apply a radial gradient to the larger shape.

Step5

Apply a radial gradient to the smaller ellipse as well.

Step6

Duplicate (Ctrl / Cmd + C, Ctrl / Cmd + F) the smaller ellipse and place the copy underneath the original ellipse. Set the Fill color to #666666 and using a non-uniform scale grab the middle part of the selection box on the left side and drag it to the left, just like in the picture below.

Step7

Grab the Type Tool (T) from the Tool Panel and type the numbers from 1 to 12. Place them on the circle. In order to make our Alarm clock more interesting we will change the Fill color for some numbers.

Step8

Grab the Ellipse Tool (L) again and create a small ellipse and place it in the middle.

Step9

Duplicate (Ctrl / Cmd + C, Ctrl / Cmd + F) the ellipse from the previous step, change its Fill color to #4D4D4D, send it behind the original ellipse (Ctrl / Cmd +[) and nudge it to the right by 2-3 pixels.

Step10

Select the ellipse in the front and under the Object select Path > Offset Path. Set the Offset to -7 and hit the OK button. Set the Fill color of the smaller ellipse to #00CCFF. You can also nudge this ellipse to the left side by a pixel or two.

Step11

Grab the Pen Tool (P) from the Tool Panel and draw the shape of the arrow. Since we are creating our alarm clock in perspective make sure not to draw a symmetrical arrow. Set the Fill color to #4D4D4D.

Duplicate (Ctrl / Cmd + C, Ctrl / Cmd + F) the arrow, set the Fill color to #666666 and nudge it to the left exactly like we did in the previous step with the ellipse.

There is one thing that needs to be fixed.

Grab the Add Anchor Point Tool (+) from the Tool Panel and add two anchor points near the corners. Grab the Direct Selection Tool (A) from the Tool Panel and move them and place them as shown in the picture below.

Repeat the last two steps in order to create a smaller pointer.

You should end up with something like this.

The next thing we are going to create is the“leg” for our alarm clock. To complete it we will need the Ellipse Tool (L), the Rectangle Tool (M) and the Direct Selection Tool (A). All we have to do is to create three objects, adjust some anchor points and bring them all together.

Don’t forget to use the Horizontal Align Center under the Align Panel in order to align all three elements properly.

We are going to apply a nice linear gradient.

For the middle part of the leg we will use the same linear gradient. Just make sure to move the gradient slider to the left a little bit.

We will also apply a linear gradient. This way we’ve created a nice shadow.

Duplicate (Ctrl / Cmd + C, Ctrl / Cmd + F) the upper part (the “bell)”. Grab the Pen Tool (P) from the Tool Panel and create a path as shown in the picture below. Select the copy we have just created and the path, and under the Pathfinder Panel hit the Divide button.

Ungroup (Shift + Ctrl / Cmd + G) the new shape, delete the upper part and apply a linear gradient to the lower part.

Repeat the previous step and create a nice blue stripe for the left part of the “bell” as well.

Select the Ellipse Tool (L) again from the Tool Panel and create a small ellipse. Place it as shown in the picture below. Don’t forget to apply a nice radial gradient.

Repeat the previous step for the left “bell” of the alarm clock. You should end up with something like this.

Now we have to create a middle part, the one that actually is making a noise when you would rather sleep. This part contains a small rectangle and a circle.Grab the Rectangle Tool (M) from the Tool Panel and create a rectangle. Make sure to nudge the lower endpoints to the inner side and make the lower side slightly curved. The Direct Selection Tool (A) will help you to do that. When you are satisfied with the shape apply a nice linear gradient.

Grab the Ellipse Tool (L) from the Tool Panel and create a nice circle. Apply a gray radial gradient.

For the lower part create a small ellipse. Set the Fill color to #666666.

Grab the Pen Tool (P) from the Tool Panel and create the path as shown in the picture below.

Set the Stroke to 14 and under the Stroke Panel hit the Round Cap.

Duplicate (Ctrl / Cmd + C, Ctrl / Cmd + F) the path and set the Stroke to 2pt for the copy. Select both paths and under Object hit Expand.

Now we need to change colors. Set the Fill color for the thicker shape to #B2B2B2 and for the thinner shape to #F2F2F2. You should end up with something like this.

Select both shapes and under Object select Blend > Make. Then, under Object select Blend > Blend Options. Set the Spacing to Specified Steps and for the value enter 30.

Duplicate (Ctrl / Cmd + C, Ctrl / Cmd + F) the handle and send one of them to back (Shift + Ctrl / Cmd + [). Grab the Ellipse Tool (L) from the Tool Panel and create a small ellipse. With the Direct Selection Tool (A) adjust the position of some anchor points as shown in the picture below.

Remove the Stroke color. Select the distorted ellipse and the handle in the front and under Object hit Make Clipping Mask. You should end up with something like this.

With a few more adjustments and some nice details our alarm clock will look like this.In this tutorial we’ve had an opportunity to create a cute alarm clock in perspective. Create Vector Ninja Character

The ninja character we’ll be creating is made up of simple shapes to create a cute overall appearance. Despite being generally dark in colour we’ll add definition to the character with the help of strokes and gradients using subtle changes in tone.

Open up Adobe Illustrator and draw a circle on the artboard, this will be the base of the ninja’s head.

Continue using the circle tool to draw the eyes, starting with the hole in the mask with a rotated oval, then a couple of generic eyes using two solid circles.

Use the Pen tool to draw the body, click and drag out lines to create a slightly curved, dynamic looking body shape. Press CMD+Shift+[ to send this item underneath the head.

Click and drag flowing lines across the body to represent the arms and legs in an exaggerated combat pose. Drag out long bezier handles for smooth curves.

Increase the stroke of these lines to around 25pt and change the option to Round Cap to smooth off the ends.

With both the lines selected go to Object > Expand. Select just the Stroke option to convert these paths into solid shapes.

Select the head and hit CMD+C to copy, we’ll need this shape again later. Add the body, arms and legs into the selection then click the Merge option from the Pathfinder window.

Change the fill colour to 90% black and adjust the stroke to 8pt black aligned to the outside.

In the Appearances palette select the Add New Stroke option from the fly out menu in the top left corner.

Adjust this new stroke to 4pt 93% black, aligned to the outside to create a double stroke effect.

Press CMD+F to paste in the copied head shape back into position. Change the fill colour to the 90% black and give it the 4pt 93% black stroke aligned to the outside. Press CMD+[ until the head sits under the shapes that make up the eyes.

Select the mask outline and give it the grey stroke, then adjust the fill colour to a natural skin tone. Add a second stroke and align it to the inside then select a slighter darker tone than the skin.

Use the Pen tool to draw some belt shapes across the body of the ninja character, give these a fill of 93% black so they blend with the stroke outline.

Our little ninja character is looking pretty good so far, but to really add some depth and an extra dimension we can make use of some subtle gradients.

Swap the solid fills on both the head and body shapes for a 90% black to 95% black radial gradient. Use the Gradient tool to adjust the flow so it runs smoothly across the shapes.

Finish off the ninja character design with a simple background, then draw a basic rectangular shape with a white fill. Select a pivot point for the Rotate tool then drag out a copy while holding the ALT key.

Repeatedly press CMD+D to repeat the rotation until you have a full circle of flaring shapes. Group all these shapes together and reduce the opacity to around 2%.

Our little ninja character is now complete. The basic shapes help give the character that stylised vector appearance while the subtle gradients and strokes all help add to the ninja’s stealthiness against the dark background.

This quick Illustrator tutorial will show you how to create a nice vector sticky post noteusing Illustrator. It is actually a very useful design element where you can use for magazines, brochures and even website. Add your custom message on the sticky post to get more eyeballs on your design. Let’s see how it is done in Illustrator.

1. First use the Pen tool to draw the shape of the sticky post note.

2. Fill it with a nice linear gradient. Make a gradient like the following with a highlight in the middle of the gradient slider. Adjust the 2 diamond sliders at the top to be close to the middle gradient stop. Now apply the gradeint to the sticky post note. Click and draw the gradient from bottom right to top left to set the gradient in 45 degrees.

3. Draw a rectangle and rotate it like below. Give a light brown color and set its transparency option as Multiply. It will give a see through illusion just like a real plastic tape.

4. Let’s move on to draw the shadow. Use the pen tool to draw the following shadow shape.

Finally, apply a Feather of 14px to the black shadow to make the edges soft. Our sticky post vector note is completed! Now you just need to add you custom message on the sticky post note.

Create a simple Compass Icon

Step 01

Create a 255 by 255px document. First, enable the Grid (View > Show Grid) and the Snap to Grid (View > Snap to Grid). Next, you’ll need a grid every 5px. Go to Edit > Preferences > Guides > Grid, enter 5 in the Gridline every box and 1 in the Subdivisions box. You can also open the Info panel (Window > Info) for a live preview with the size and position of your shapes. Do not forget to replace the unit of measurement to pixels from Edit > Preferences > Unit > General. Al these options will significantly increase your work speed.

Step 02

Pick the Ellipse Tool(L) and create a 190 by 190px shape. Fill it with R=39 G=170 B=225 then go to Effect > Stylize > Inner Glow. Enter the data shown below then click OK.

Step 03

Continue with the Rectangle Tool(M). Create a 10 by 10px shape and place it as shown in the following image. Fill it with white and add a 1pt, white stroke. With the shape still selected, go to the Appearance panel. First, select the stroke, align it to inside and lower its opacity to 15%. Next, select the fill and lower its opacity to 15%.

Step 04

Keep focusing on the shape created in the previous step. Pick the Direct Selection Tool(A), select the bottom anchor points (highlighted in the first image) and go to Object > Path > Average. Check Both and click OK. The rectangle should turn into a triangle.

Step 05

Select the triangle created in the previous step and go to Object > Transform > Rotate. Enter a 180 degrees angle and click on the Copy button. This will create a vertically flipped copy of the triangle. Select this copy and move it as shown in the second image. Select these two triangles and go again to Object > Transform > Rotate. Enter a 90 degrees angle and click on the Copy button. In the end you should have four triangles placed as shown in the third image.

Step 06

Reselect the four triangles from the previous step and group them (Control + G). Select this fresh group and go to Object > Transform > Rotate. Enter a 45 degrees angle and click on OK.

Step 07

Pick the Rectangle Tool(M), create a 70 by 30px shape and fill it with any color. Pick the Direct Selection Tool(A), select the right anchor points (highlighted in the first image) and go to Object > Path > Average. Check Both and click. Again, the rectangle should turn into sharp triangle.

Step 08

Select the triangle created in the previous step and go to Object > Transform > Reflect. Check Vertical then click on the Copy button. This will create a horizontally flipped copy of the triangle. Select this fresh copy and move to the left as shown in the second image.

Step 09

Select the two triangle shape from the previous step and go to Object > Transform > Rotate. Enter a 90 degrees angle and click on the Copy button. Now, select all four triangle shapes and click on the Unite button from the Pathfinder panel. In the end you should have a simple star shape.

Step 10

Select the star shape and place it as shown in the following image. The snap to grid will ease your work. Pick the Pen Tool(P) and draw four simple paths as shown in the following image. Each line should start and end at an anchor point. I added a black stroke for this paths so that you can distinguish them from the rest of the shapes. Select these fresh paths along with the star shape and click on the Divide button from the Pathfinder panel. This will create a group with eight separate shapes. Select it and ungroup it (Control + Shift + G).

Step 11

Keep focusing on the shapes created in the previous step. Start with the four shapes selected in the following image. Fill them with white and add a 1pt, white stroke. With these shapes still selected, go to the Appearance panel. First, select the stroke, align it to inside and lower its opacity to 30%. Next, select the fill and lower its opacity to 20%.

Step 12

Move to the other four shapes. Again, fill them with white and add a 1pt, white stroke then go to the Appearance panel. First, select the stroke, align it to inside and lower its opacity to 10% then select the fill and lower its opacity to 10%.

Step 13

Reselect the eight shapes that make up the star and group them (Control + G). Select this group and make a copy in front (Control + C > Control + F). Re-size this group copy as shown in the second image then go to Object > Transform > Rotate. Enter a 45 degrees angle then click OK.

Step 14

Pick the Ellipse Tool(L), create a 30 by 30px shape and place it as shown in the following image. Fill it with R=209 G=211 B=212 and add 1.5pt, white, aligned to inside stroke stroke. Select this stroke from the Appearance panel and click on the Duplicate Selected Item button from the bottom of the Appearance panel. Obviously, this will create a copy of the selected stroke. Select this new stroke, set its color at R=128 G=130 B=133 and make it 0.5pt wide.

Step 15

Pick the Rectangle Tool(M) and create a 20 by 90px shape. Fill it with R=237 G=28 B=36 and place it as shown in first image. Grab the Direct Selection Tool(A), select the top anchor points and go to Object > Path > Average. Check Both then click OK.

Step 16

Pick the Pen Tool(P) and draw a vertical path as shown in the first image. Select this fresh path along with the sharp triangle and click on the Divide button from the Pathfinder panel. This will create a group with two separate shapes. Select the left shape and replace the existing color with R=140 G=30 B=45.

Step 17

Select the group created in the previous step and go to Object > Transform > Reflect. Check Horizontal and click OK. Select the resulting group and place it as shown in the third image then replace the existing colors with the ones shown in the fourth image.

Step 18

Reselect the red and black shapes created in the previous step and group them (Control + G). Select this new group and go to Object > Transform > Rotate. Enter a 29.5 degrees angle, click OK and go to Effect > Stylize > Drop Shadow. Enter the data shown in the final image and click OK.

Step 19

Pick the Ellipse Tool(L), create a 20 by 20px shape and place it as shown in the first image. Fill it with the linear gradient shown below and add a 1pt stroke. Align it inside and set the color at R=0 G=0 B=0 (black). Continue with the Ellipse Tool(L) and create a second shape. Make it 10 by 10px and place it as shown in the second image. Fill it with the linear gradient shown below and add a 0.5pt stroke. Align it inside and set the color at R=147 G=149 B=152.

Step 20

Select the blue circle and make a copy in front (Control + C > Control + F). Select this copy. First, remove the Inner Glow effect and the color from the fill then add a 20pt stroke. Align it to inside and set its color at R=230 G=231 B=232 then go to Object > Expand Appearance (or Object > Path > Outline Stroke). Fill the resulting shape with the linear gradient shown in the third image.

Step 21

Reselect the shape created in the previous step, bring it to front (Shift + Control + ] ) and add a stroke. Make it 2pt wide, align it to inside and set its color at R=250 G=250 B=250. Add a second stroke for this path. Make it 1pt wide, align it to inside and set the color R=167 G=169 B=172. Reselect the entire path and go to Effect > Stylize > Drop Shadow. Enter the data shown below then click OK.

Step 22

Reselect the path edited in the previous step and go to Object > Path > Offset Path. Enter a -5px Offset and click OK. Fill the resulting shape with R=245 G=245 B=245 (remove the strokes and the drop shadow) then duplicate it. Select this copy and hit the Down arrow once (to move it 5px down). Now, select both shapes and click on the Minus Front button from the Pathfinder panel. Select the resulting group of shapes and go to Effect > Blur > Gaussian Blur. Enter a 3.5px radius then click OK

.

Step 23

Pick the Ellipse Tool(L), create a 210 by 210px shape and place it as shown in the following image. Fill it with none and add a 10pt stroke. Set its color at R=209 G=211 B=212 and change the blending mode to Color Burn then go to the Stroke panel (Window > Stroke). Check the Dashed Line box and enter 2pt in the dash and gap boxes.

Step 24

Pick the Type Tool(T) and add the four simple letters.

Step 25

Reselect the blue circle and make a copy in front (Control + C > Control + F). Bring it to front (Shift + Control + ] ) then go to Object > Path > Offset Path. Enter a -5px Offset and click OK. Reselect these two shapes and click on the Minus Front button from the Pathfinder panel. Fill the resulting shape with the linear gradient shown below and lower its opacity to 50%. The yellow numbers from the gradient image stand for opacity percentage. Don’t forget to remove the Inner Glow effect from the Appearance panel.

Step 26

Pick the Ellipse Tool(L), create a 180 by 180px shape and place it as shown in the following image. Fill it with none and add a 1pt stroke. Make it black, align it to inside and go to Object > Expand Appearance (or Object > Path > Outline Stroke). Fill the resulting shape with the linear gradient shown in the second image and lower its opacity to 30%. Again, pay attention at the yellow numbers from the gradient image.

Step 27

Pick the Ellipse Tool(L), create a 180 by 180px shape and place it as shown in the first image. Fill it with any color then make a copy in front (Control + C > Control + F). Disable the Snap to Grid (View > Snap to Grid) then select this copy and hit the up arrow seven times. Reselect both copies and click on the Minus Front button from the Pathfinder panel. Fill the resulting shape with the linear gradient shown in the third image and lower its opacity to 20%.

Step 28

Re-enable the Snap to Grid (View > Snap to Grid). Pick the Ellipse Tool(L), create a 180 by 180px shape and place it as shown in the first image. Fill it with any color then make a copy in front (Control + C > Control + F). Disable the Snap to Grid then select this copy and hit the down arrow three times. Reselect both copies and click on the Minus Front button from the Pathfinder panel. Fill the resulting shape with the linear gradient shown in the third image and lower its opacity to 15%.

Step 29

Re-enable the Snap to Grid (View > Snap to Grid). Pick the Ellipse Tool(L), create a 180 by 180px shape and place it as shown below.Fill it with the linear gradient shown below and add a 1pt, white stroke. Go to the Appearance panel and select the stroke. Align it to inside and lower its opacity to 15% then select the fill and lower its opacity to 30%.

Step 30

Select the shape created in the previous step and make a copy in front (Control + C > Control + F). Pick the Ellipse Tool(L), create a 300 by 170px shape and place it as shown in the first image. Select it along with the fresh copy and click on the Intersect button from the Pathfinder panel. The resulting shape should look like in the third image. Pick the Direct Selection Tool(A), select the bottom anchor points and move it 40px up. In the end your shape should look like in the fourth image.

Step 31

Reselect the shape created in the previous step, fill it with the linear gradient shown below, lower its opacity to 15% and you’re done.

Create A Snazzy Retro Badge

This tutorial will help you create a vector retro badge or emblem. Particularly, in this year, the number of websites using these as attention grabbers is increasing, and it is being touted as a design trend that is not very likely to cease anytime soon. So, it becomes very important as a designer to know how to create these badges. Having these in your arsenal is sure to grab some eyeballs! So what are we waiting for, let’s get started.

Note: The Ctrl equivalent for Macintosh computers is Command or Cmd. And the Alt equivalent is the Option key.

1. Alright, let’s start off with the usual drill. Create a new document. I have started with an artboard of width and height of 1000px. Also, it helps to have Smart Guides turned on. They are very helpful for aligning elements on the artboard. If you haven’t already enabled them, hit Ctrl + U or go to View > Smart Guides. Now, with the Ellipse Tool (L) click anywhere on the artboard and in the pop up window, hit 280px in both width and width.

2. Now, click on the circle to select it and then change its Fill to white. Since this tutorial will be dealing a lot with different effects and such, it helps to have your Appearance Panel open. Hit Shift + F6 or alternatively, go to Window > Appearance. Add a stroke to the circle and change its weight to 2pt. You can use the Appearance panel to make these changes, as shown in the image.

3. With the circle selected, go to the Appearance Panel and hit the first button from the bottom-left to add a new stroke. Click on the word “Stroke” to change its settings. Now add in the values as shown in the image. Make sure that the new stroke is below the previous stroke. If it isn’t then drag it below the previous stroke.

4. With the circle selected go to Effect > Distort and Transform > Zig Zag and enter the values as shown in the image.

5. Let’s round off the spikes. Again, with the circle selected, go to Effect > Stylize > Round Corners and enter a radius of 2 px. You would have observed in the previous step that there was an option to “Smooth” the points. Yes, that could have been done, but, having manual control on how smooth you want it to be is much better, which you could only achieve with this step.

6. Copy the circle by hitting Ctrl + C and paste it in front by hitting Ctrl + F. Now, select the new circle and change its dimensions by using the toolbar on the top (You can view it only after selecting any element.) Also, don’t forget to click on the link so as to make sure that the dimensions are equal and proportional.

7. Let’s modify this new new circle. With the Appearance Panel, select both the “Stroke” and delete them using the trash bin icon below as shown in the image.

8. Let’s give this new circle a different color. With it being selected, either use the Fill Square from the Tool bar or you can directly change the Fill using the Appearance Panel as shown in the image below. The color values are also given in the image for reference.

9. In the Appearance Panel, hit on the “New Fill” button to add a new fill. Also navigate to the Swatch Libraries Menu by clicking on the down pointing arrow next to the fill content (as shown in image). This would bring out a pop out menu. Click on the bottom-left first icon to go to “Swatch Libraries Menu”. From there, choose the “Diamond” texture by going to Patterns > Basic Graphics > Basic Graphic_Textures.

10. Now, set this new fill on overlay with 48% opacity. You can do this by clicking on the right pointing arrow next to the word “Fill”. Then with this Fill selected go to Effect > Texture > Grain and set both, Intensity and Contrast to 100.

11. Again, copy the circle by hitting Ctrl + C and paste it in front by hitting Ctrl + F. Now, select the new circle and change its dimensions by using the toolbar on the top.

12. With the Appearance Panel, add a new stroke to this new circle. Also change the existing bottom fill to values shown in the image.

13. Now, click on the texture fill. Let’s modify it. Again, just edit it (don’t add a new fill). Navigate to “Swatch Libraries Menu” as mentioned before. From there, go to Patterns > Decorative > Decorative_Geometric1 and select “Crosses Color”. Change the opacity from 48% to 10% and delete the grain effect.

14. Copy the new circle again, paste it, and change the dimensions of the latest circle again by using the toolbar on top.

15. Using the Appearance Panel, edit the stroke and the base fill. And yet again edit the texture fill to “Diagonal Lines” from Patterns > Basic Graphics > Basic Graphics_Textures and set the opacity to 34%. Change the “Overlay” to “Normal”.

16. Copy and paste the latest circle. Adjust the dimensions so that they are less that the previous circle by a small margin. In the Appearance Panel, delete everything except the “Stroke” and adjust it accordingly as shown in the image. This trick creates a cool “ring of dots”.

17. The base of our badge is done, let’s move on to add features to its face. Let’s start off by adding some text. Using the Type Tool (T) click anywhere on the artboard and type in anything that fancies you. I’ve typed in “League”. Adjust the Font, the Font style and the Font size accordingly as shown in the image. Change the Fill, if you wish.

18. With the text selected go to Effect > Warp > Arc Upper and set in the values as shown in the image. We are warping the text so that it fits nicely in the circular structure of the badge. This is editable, so even after warping you can easily edit the text.
19. Let’s add a good drop shadow to this text so as to make it look 3D. With the text selected, go to Effect > Stylize > Drop Shadow and set in the values as shown in the image.

20. Now put this text on the badge and align it as shown in the image. One neat trick by using Shift + Arrow keys to nudge the text by 10px. You can also select both the circle and the text by holding down Shift and clicking on both these elements. Then, using tools on the top, click on “Horizontal Align Center” to horizontally align the text centrally in relation with the circle.

21. Let’s move on to add some decorative elements on our badge. Start off by creating a star using Star Tool. Click on the Star Tool and drag out a star onto the Artboard. Hold down Shift to get a proportionate star and use the arrow keys to adjust how many points you wish to have. Duplicate this star (by clicking on it and then dragging it while holding Alt). Using the Direct Selection Tool (A) select the top point of the duplicated star and nudge it using Shift + Up arrow to nudge it in measures on 10px upwards. I’ve nudged it 70px.
22. Again duplicate the duplicated star and the turn it upside down by selecting it and going to Object > Transform > Reflect, choose “Horizontal” and click OK.

23. Align them as shown (Smart Guides will show you where their commmon centres are). Also you might have to change the stacking order so as to have the original star on top on the other stars. Use Ctrl + [ to push an element down and Ctrl + ] to pull an element up.

24. Make two copies of these stars and align them with the badge as shown in the image. Scale them accordingly as you wish.

25. Draw some basic rectangular shapes using the Rectangle Tool (M) and make two copies of this. Use the image below for reference.
26. Align these to the badge as shown. You will probably have to scale them. But, you can position them wherever you wish, however big you wish.
27. Add some extra text. I’ve added “of” with the font “Lobster 1.3″ at 35pt. Also, I’ve applied a basic drop shadow (Effect > Stylize > Drop Shadow). Place them between the rectangles we made, Use the image for reference.

28. Using the Pen Tool (P) and Rectangle Tool (M) draw some shapes as shown in the image below. For now, set their stroke to black and fill to white.

29. Graphic Styles in my opinion is the best feature in Illustrator. You can apply a set of styles to any shape, path or text which also remains editable. Like Layer Styles in Photoshop, but, better and more flexible. Now, let’s create two graphic styles that we will apply to our shapes later. So, start off with any shape and modify its Fill and Stroke as shown in the image.

30. Add a new fill to this shape and again navigate to “Swatch Libraries Menu” and go to Patterns > Basic Graphics > Basic Graphics_Textures and select “Diamond”. Set this fill on overlay.

31. Let’s add some drop shadows to give it a 3D effect. So, select the shape and go to Effect > Stylize > Drop Shadow and hit in the following values.

32. We’ll give it another drop shadow, so in the appearance panel, duplicate the Drop Shadow and edit it and just edit the color as shown in the image. Make sure that this drop shadow is below the previous drop shadow.

33. Now open up your Graphic Styles Panel by going to Window > Graphic Styles or you can alternatively hit Shift + F5. Select the shape again, and click on the “New Graphic Style” button on the Graphic Styles Panel. Voila! There you have it, you can then apply this Graphic Style to any other shape/path/text.

34. Now, onto our second graphic style. It is pretty similar, just delete the texture fill and change the base fill’s color to white. Then again add this to the Graphic Styles Panel.

35. Apply the first Graphic Style to the ribbon shapes we made. Don’t apply it to the two mini triangles, just change their fill and delete their stroke. Now align all those shapes as shown in the image below.

36. Align the ribbon onto the badge as shown in the image below. To move around the whole ribbon and not just any single shape, just select all the elements of the ribbon and group them by hitting Ctrl + G. Also don’t forget to change the stacking order of “of” so that it appears above the ribbon.

37. Add text, I’ve used “ChunkFive” font here (I’ve used “Liberator” font in the final image.) Now, select the text and apply the second graphic style to this text. Align it over the ribbon as shown. We’re done! or are we?

38. Not yet! Let’s add a finishing touch to the badge (which is not exactly needed). Import the badge over to Photoshop as a Vector Smart Object and then duplicate it. Select the top layer and go to Filter > Artistic > Colored Pencil and play around with the settings. Then, set this top layer on overlay and reduce the opacity to your need. And we’re done!

Learn how to create a sleek & professional Twitter icon or button using Adobe Illustrator. To create this icon we'll be using must know methods and techniques to create this attractive icon which can be used for various design projects.

Final Result

1. Create a new document that's 600×600 pixels. Select the Rounded Rectangle Tool and click on the canvas once to bring up the options, put in the options below and click OK. Select the shape with the Selection Tool edit the shape to look like below & change the colour.

2. Select the Rounded Rectangle Tool again and draw a shape like below, select the shape with the Selection Tool and rotate to make the point of the speech bubble. Select the 2 shapes and click on the Unite icon in Pathfinder to turn the 2 shapes into one.

3. Click on the shape, hold down the ALT Key and drag away to duplicate. Place the bottom shape down like below and put in a Gradient Overlay.

4. Duplicate the shape again, on the top shape place it up a bit and put on a Gradient Overlay (black to none).

5. Duplicate the main shape 2 more times and place them elsewhere on the canvas. Place the 2 shapes like below to make a thin bottom, select the 2 shapes and click on the Minus Front icon in Pathfinder. Place the leftover shape on the speech bubble and change the colour to white.

6. Repeat step 5, but make the bottom shape thicker. Change the shape colour to white and place over the speech bubble. Select the shape with the Selection Tool and make the width smaller. With the shape selected go into Effect > Blur > Gaussian Blur. Make the Opacity 37%. This will create a nice 3D Bevel effect.

7. Press CTRL & + to zoom into the icon. Using the Pen Tool, draw a rectangle shape on the bottom of the speech bubble and make the Gradient Black to None. Repeat the process on the opposite side.

8. Duplicate the main shape again and drag elsewhere on the canvas. Using the Ellipse Tool, draw a circle while holding down the Shift Key (to keep the shape perfect). Place the circle over the shape like below, select the two shapes and click on the Minus Front icon. Place the leftover shape over the icon and make the Gradient White to None.

9. Open up the EPS version of the Twitter bird and copy/paste it onto the icon document. To make the bird bigger select it with the Selection Tool, hold down the Shift Key and drag the top corner out. Duplicate the bird and drag it elsewhere on the canvas ready for the next step. With the original bird put in a black > dark grey > black Gradient. With the bird selected go into Effect > Stylish > Drop Shadow.

10. Next go into Window > Swatch Libraries > Patterns > Basic Graphics > Basic Graphics_Dots. Select the duplicated bird and click on a dot pattern. Lastly place the bird over the previous bird to add a nice effect.

Learn how to create a cute Pencil Icon in Adobe Illustrator. To make this icon we'll be using a variety of shapes, tools and Pathfinder tools!
Final Result

1. Create a new document that's 600×600 pixels. Using the Ellipse Tool draw a squashed shape like below & duplicate it. Next select the Rectangle Tool and draw a shape that's the same width as the squashed circle. Duplicate the circle by holding selecting it, then dragging it away while holding down the ALT Key. Place the duplicated circle above, to make the duplicated shape overlap the rectangle, right click and Bring to Front.

Select the bottom circle & rectangle shape and click on the Unite Icon in the Pathfinder.

2. Using the Selection Tool, select the 2 shapes and click on the Minus Front Icon in the Pathfinder.

3. Next select the Rectangle Tool, and draw the main body of the pencil. Using the Pen Tool, draw the top of the Pencil.

4. Duplicate the top of the pencil and drag it elsewhere on the canvas. Using the Rectangle Tool, draw over the top of the shape like below. Select the two shapes and click on the Intersect Icon in Pathfinder.

5. Place the leftover shape on the top of the pencil. Select the back rectangle with the Selection Tool and make it thinner, duplicate it 2 times and place like below.

6. Duplicate the bottom of the pencil and drag it elsewhere on the canvas. Using the Ellipse Tool, draw the shape below then using Rectangle Tool draw over the top of the squashed circle. Select the 2 shapes while holding down the Shift or CTRL Key and click on the Unite icon in Pathfinder. Duplicate the shape and place it just above the original shape, select the 2 shapes and click on the Minus Front icon in Pathfinder, You should be left with a nice thin shape.

7. Place the shape on the bottom of the pencil, duplicating it 3 times.

8. Select the duplicated bottom part with the Selection Tool. Make it smaller by dragging the top corner down while holding down the Shift Key and place it on the bottom of the pencil.

9. Put in the Gradients below for the top part of the pencil.

10. Duplicate the top of the pencil and drag it elsewhere on the canvas. Using the Pen Tool, draw a shape like below. Select the 2 shapes and click on the Intersect Icon in Pathfinder. Place the shape on the pencil and put in the Gradient below.

11. Select each of the 3 rectangles and put in the Gradients below.

12. Using the Line Tool hold down the Shift Key and draw 2 lines like below.

13. Duplicate the top part of the pencil again and make the Fill colour #D27128 and nudge it down a bit, right click the shape Arrange > Send Backward or CTRL + { (you may have to do this many times until the shape's behind the top shape). Using the Pen Tool draw a shape like below, you'll have to right click and Arrange > Send Backward to get it hidden behind the top of the pencil. Put the gradient below on the shape for a nice light effect.

14. Select the bottom of the pencil and put in the following gradient. Hold down the shift Key and select all of the other shapes and make them a dark grey. Duplicate the black thin shapes and place them more up. Right click and Arrange > Send Backward and make the colour white.

15. Select the eraser and put in the Gradient below. Duplicate the eraser and Send Background so it's behind and move down slightly. Put in another gradient on the shape. Duplicate the eraser again placing it in between the 2 shapes and put in the Fill colour below.
