Dead Space was a game that rocked the foundations of horror video games for a long time. With its innovate AI that would stay hidden and pop out at you when you least expected it. It even continues the particularly weird and at the same time awesome storyline from the previous game. Dead Space 2 does include a few things to mix it up but keeps true to the first video game in the series. Most first video games where the main character just killed off an entire armada of enemies and lost everyone they know and love in the process portray the main character as unaffected in the second game. In Dead Space 2 however Issac(the main character) is torn apart by the previous games events and the death of his girlfriend. Several game play elements actually have to do with the fact that Issac may be losing his grip on reality. Despite that fact he still fights on anyway but at least they acknowledge it and make it a part of the game unlike other video games.

We will start Dead Space 2 on a good note by reviewing the main portion of the game or single player as some would call it. For the most part you will playing in dark environments with a light at your side and the hope that the necromorph's (zombie alien things) don't come up from behind to get you when you least expect it (they will). Often times you will hear them but not see them putting you on the edge and starting your cautiousness. It would be a lie to say that you won't spend a lot of time looking for the enemy in one room and not finding them. Then just as you are about to move on they come from behind you and attack when your guard is down. This is just one classic example of how smart the AI actually is in this game. Adding to that is the music which adds to the intensity and excitement of the unknown darkness that often surrounds you. Dead Space 2 even has a unique health bar that is located on your characters back which was used in the first video game. Basically Dead Space 2 his game is what all horror movies and horror genre video games should look at when they develop from now on because this game does it very well.

The armor of this game looks just as amazing as it did in the Dead Space and thankfully they decided not to give us the most powerful armor in the game if we purchased it the first day it came out, as they did in Dead Space. However for the first part of the game you will not be wearing armor and will look like just any other person until you get your armor back and can look totally awesome again. In a way this does make sense because in real life you could not be possibly be wearing that heavy armor all the time, so it seems like a good choice by the developers to have you get your suit as the first task in the game. A lot of the weapons from the Dead Space make a comeback in Dead Space 2 with a few changes to them(mostly for the better), all of them remain pretty unique and you may actually have to change weapons sometimes and not just blast one gun the whole game like most other shooting games. To add even more worth to single player the upgrade systems and purchasing system is very well done and you cannot just buy everything too early or not have the ability to buy things due to money restrictions later in the game.

Much like the Bioshock franchise the of Dead Space developer's decided that crappy multi player was better than nothing. So they put in a few maps together and whipped up a few game types where the humans have to do things and the necromorph's on the other team try to stop you. The multi player is fun for a little while but it has no real lasting appeal for most people. For the most part this game really shines because of its single player and multi player seemed like more of a last-minute idea that they decided to implement because they thought it would be fun. If Dead Space 2 did not have multi player however it would definitely be worth less money because adding in multi player gives you some more replay value even if it isn't a lot.
Overall Dead Space 2 is a bit better than the previous game and uses a lot of the same mechanics. This is not a bad thing because the Dead Space was very well done and this game just sought to improve upon it as most sequels do. The weapons are very well done and the armor looks as even better than it did in Dead Space. The purchasing system in the game is very well done again just as it was in the first game. The horror aspect remains largely the same from the first game which is also a great thing. The biggest element is the story changes that take place and the fact that Issac may be going very well be going insane due to the events in the first game. Multi player does not add much value to the game but as the developers probably thought it is certainly better than nothing.

I've been playing pro street for around 10 hours now, and I still have very mixed feelings about it. First thing that will strike you is the graphics, they are like properly wow, the detail on the cars-they are flawless, i've seen no jaggies or rough poly's in this game, everything is so smooth and crisp.

The Cars and their reflections are convincingly real at some points. I've heard that alot of people are complaining about the framerate, I myself have not had any problems with it, its always seemed perfectly smooth and fine to me. I have all the details maxed out, 2x anti-aliasing at 1440x900 on a "mid-range" 7900gs and its perfect.

Visually it's close to perfect and reality. The 3d volumetric smoke is very realistic to, your car casts a shadow on it, smoke collects and builds in the wheel arches, the momentum of the wheels catch it and turn it into a swirling mass, it looks stunning, and in a sort of unexplainable way adds a dimension to it.

If you watched alot of interviews with the Pro Street staff, they go on about how it makes the car feel more "grounded" and "powerful", your sat there thinking rrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiight sure it does, but then you play it and it sinks in. it really is a cool expierience to just donut and burnout with the cars, then when they crash, especially in the top speed runs, it makes the crashes look so dramatic, as the dust catches the tires and body panels of the car, dare i say it puts it in another league to burnout series?.

The next thing that'll strike you is the sound. I strongly believe this is the best and most convincing sounding car game to date. The cars sound more than ever closer to the real deal, the tire squeel can help you judge wether the car is going to break grip or not, and driving through tunnels is blissful. You can hear it actually bouncing off the roof and walls creating a very realistic ripple effect echo. you can hear the turbo whine, supercharger whine, blowoff valves chattering away, you get that really raw sound when the cars bouncing off the rev-limiter-you'll think the damn thing would explode! If you love drifting or have ever witnessed it theres something so enticeing about the sound whether you love it or hate it, it'll stick with you for a while, especially the 6-cylinder BMWs. The sound is other worldly as its bouncing off the limiter. its an immense involving expierience. you can hear the car bottoming out and wind travelling under the car. Purely from a sound aspect this game is groundbreaking, It's no good watching videos on youtube, you have to expierience it first hand.

Physics........hmmmm.... EA got lost here. This seems to be the slight Drawback of the game. While it's not bad it won't really ruin the game expierience, it seems slightly detached. EA rewrote from the ground up the physics engine used in most wanted-Carbon was a completly different branch of EA.

Need for Speed Pro Street has been two years in development, due to this engine rewrite. Theres many Simulation elements in this game, you can pull off all the techniques you could think of and get what you expect-but somethings just not quite right-It's hard to put your finger on- It's like when you look at a picture, you know somethings wrong, but unless your told you'd never know about it, but just be left feeling that something is slightly wrong.

What I think it is, is that since you now know its been a re-write of the most wanted physics engine, the cars react and move in a very similar way. This was such a nagging feeling i actually tried it out, the force feedback interpretations are very similar and when the cars begin to get sideways theres a similar sort of bouncing effect. They actually said they wanted to make it feel more realistic-which they done-but werent heading for a hardcore sim like forza or Project Gotham Racing 4-and it still be accessible to everyone. Fans of Arcade racers will think this feels odd, people who love sims and real life will be like, shouldn't the car react like this if I do this?. It really is lost between the arcade and sim line. I'll go into some more detail in the next article, still getting to grips with alot of it.

Gaming has been a part of our culture for an extremely long time. Whether you're a casual gamer, who doesn't like all the competition of most games, or you're a hardcore gamer who enjoys games like Halo, Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty. There have been two platforms for gaming. Consoles and PC. Both are extremely different and many people have their own opinion on which is better. Well lets compare the pros and cons together shall we?

Lets start with PC gaming. PC gaming is huge. Over 4 million people are constantly online on Steam so there are a lot of PC gamers. PC games are also much cheaper. Normally a higher quality game is only $50 while on console they are $60. Not only that there are a lot of exclusive games only on PC. Most of these exclusives are only around $20 while delivering quality normally only seen in triple A titles. PC games also have more value then their console counter-parts. Most games have player made modifications that add hours of content to a game. It could be anything from more weapons to an entire side story added onto the game. Older games also tend to get a new paint job over time as players create graphic mods that enhance the graphics of the game to make it look more modern. PC gaming also tends to have a better experience. Take Battlefield 3 for example. I personally have Battlefield 3 on the Xbox 360 and it's a blast with friends, but when I play it on PC it's amazing. There is constant action which is sometimes lacking from the console version. You also have a ton of free to play games on PC. Recently Planetside 2 was released for PC. It follows up on the previous game giving players a map that makes Battlefield 3 a joke and delivering amazing quality that PC is also cost efficient, because it costs about the same as a normal home computer plus a console. In fact if you can jump on a sale for computer parts or a website that builds gaming PCs you can get one for about $700 or less! That's a lot cheaper than buying a home computer and a console since the average home computer costs about $600 and a console is about $200 or more. You're saving money already!

Many people prefer a console due to it being family friendly and user friendly. If you're going to get or use a gaming computer you need to know what makes a computer tick. However with a console there is no complex setup it's just plug and play, no need to build your computer with ordered parts or getting a bit confused with all the wires of a gaming computer. Many families also use their consoles for more than just video games. With consoles like the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 having movement games that are family friendly, you are seeing many families using these consoles as a means for the whole family to get together. People also use them as DVD players. Many people prefer to watch a movie on a 42 inch HD T.V. than a 20 inch monitor. It's also pretty easy to talk to friends while playing a game with them. For PC the only ways to chat with a friend outside of the game would be either Skype, Teamspeak or Ventrillo. Of those three options only Skype is free, but it tends to take up internet speed depending on how many people are in a Skype call. Xbox Live has a feature that I personally enjoy, the Xbox Live party. It allows up to 8 people to be in a small little chat room where they talk without being in the same game or game lobby. It's a very useful feature when you want to talk to your friends while you both play different games. Consoles also tend to automatically be organized. With a computer you have to make sure that all your icons are in order or have folders to hold what you need, but with a console everything is set up in sections and tiles so everything is organized. With the amount of exclusives on PC, there are a few exclusive games on console that always make PC gamers think about getting a console. I prefer the exclusive games on Xbox 360 such as Gears of War or Halo. One of my long term favorite game series is Fable. The first and third are on PC also but the second one is only on Xbox 360. One game that was unknown was Metro 2033. It is an Xbox 360 and PC exclusive. It may be on the PC but it's PC players will tell you that you need a pretty good computer to run that game, so it's easier to play on console. A console can be used for so many things both for the hardcore gamer to the casual family gamer.

It's hard for one to choose whether they should get a gaming computer or a console. People who are tech savvy tend to go with a gaming computer since they know what they are doing and can fix anything that happens. Others who are not as tech savvy stick with consoles since they require little to no maintenance and have a quick setup. It's hard to choose which is better but considering how in the long run a gaming computer saves you money, a gaming computer is the best choice. You can save a lot more money on a gaming computer since games are cheaper and there are free-to-play games out there. You also save money by not having to buy a home computer if you buy a console. In the end PC is the better choice over console.
