DISCOVER THE MORAINIC HILLS OF LAKE GARDA

On the southern border of Lake Garda, between Mantua, Brescia and Verona there is an amazing piece of land with enchanting panoramas. It is the territory of Garda’s Morainic hills, a large amphitheater of gently rolling hills, slight slopes, green plains, small lakes, water sources and the Mincio river. They have been formed during the phases of expansion and retreat of the glaciers, nowadays a landscape of great emotional impact.

Next to the beauty of nature, the Morainic Hills offer culture, folklore, bicycle routes walking paths, horse riding, winery visits, gastronomy or just an oasis of wellbeing.

The picturesque villages are dominated by ancient castles, medieval churches, bell towers, museums and memories of history. On clear days you can enjoy views of the plain of Mantua, Lake Garda and the surrounding hillsides.

Many are the events and fairs taking place all the year round: ancient traditions, historical commemorations, music festivals, banquets and gastronomical exhibitions.

Thanks to the proximity of the Lake, there is a Mediterranean air, the perfect climate for cypress trees, orchards, olive groves and vineyards. The viticulture is significant and produces regional prestigious white and red wines.
Typical local products are olive oil, saffron, morainic salami and cold cuts, cheeses, honey, chutneys, farm-made ice cream, bread, pasta and sweets.
The Morainic hills are also the kingdom of good cooking: from simple and traditional to sophisticated, from genuine to refined dishes: ravioli, tagliatelle, risotto and capunsei (bread and cheese dumplings), pike with sauce, beef stews and game meat, crumble cake with almonds, rose cake,…

Tra gli appuntamenti di carnevale torna a Parona di Verona la Festa della Renga, mercoledì 13 febbraio a partire dalle ore 14.30. La tradizionale festa è dedicata al piatto tipico veronese della polenta con aringa e riempie il paese di persone provenienti da tutta la provincia e oltre, essendo la chiusura del carnevale veronese.

Nel primo pomeriggio la tradizionale sfilata allegorica con due tra le maschere più famose del carnevale veronese: "la Parona" e il "Papà del Gnoco". Sfileranno per le strade tra la gente regalando caramelle ai bambini e si ritrovano nel parco cittadino di piazza del Porto, presentandosi alla popolazione e ravvivando così la giornata.

PROGRAMMA COMPLETO

Ore 10.00: apertura chioschi con degustazione di polenta e renga, primi piatti e vini della Valpolicella
Ore 14.30: ricevimento delle maschere in via Liberale da Verona
Ore 15.00: corteo mascherato aperto dalla banda e dalle majorettes con la partecipazione del "Papà del Gnoco" e la sua Corte. Tutte le maschere veronesi, la "Parona" ed il suo seguito
Ore 15.45: sfilata sul palco di tutte le Maschere e saluto del "Comitato Benefico Festa de la Renga" alle autorità e al pubblico
Ore 16.00: esibizione della banda e gran finale con le majorettes Among the events of the carnival back to Parona di Verona Renga's Day, Wednesday, February 13, starting at 14:30. The traditional festival is dedicated to the Veronese dish of polenta with herring and fills the country of people from across the province and beyond, since the end of the carnival Verona.

In the early afternoon the traditional allegorical parade with two of the most famous masks of the carnival Verona: "The Parona" and "Gnoco Dad." Parade through the streets among the people giving candy to children and find themselves in the city park of Piazza del Porto, introducing the people and thus reviving the day.

COMPLETE PROGRAM

10.00: opening kiosks and renga tasting polenta, pasta dishes and wines of Valpolicella
14.30: receipt of masks via Liberal from Verona
15.00: masked procession opened by the band and majorettes with the participation of "Gnoco Dad" and his Court. All masks Verona, the "Parona" and its sequel
15.45 pm: parade on stage all the masks and greet the "Committee Beneficial Festa de la Renga" to the authorities and the public
16.00 pm: performance by the band and the grand finale with the majorettes

Si terrà da giovedì 10 a domenica 13 gennaio, in piazza Bra, la manifestazione “Chocolate”, esposizione, vendita e laboratorio del cioccolato artigianale. L’evento, patrocinato da Comune e Provincia di Verona e realizzato dall’associazione “Saperi e Sapori” in collaborazione con Amia, è stato presentato oggi dall’assessore alle Attività economiche Enrico Corsi. Erano presenti il presidente dell’Associazione “Saperi e Sapori” Silvano Zavetti e l’assessore al Turismo del Comune di Abano Terme Claudio Benatelli.

Tra le novità dell’edizione 2013, l’esibizione dei maestri cioccolatieri che, sabato 12 gennaio alle ore 16, tenteranno di realizzare in piazza Bra la stecca di cioccolato più lunga del mondo; il record da superare è di 29 metri di lunghezza, realizzato ad Abano Terme lo scorso ottobre. Domenica 13 gennaio, dalle 11 alle 12.30 e dalle 15 alle 17.30, in programma in piazza Bra lo spettacolo degli sbandieratori ed artisti di strada; inoltre, per tutta la giornata, dimostrazione delle antiche arti artigiane ed antichi mestieri medievali con la compagnia Del Sipario Medioevale. Durante i quattro giorni di manifestazione gli stand in piazza Bra saranno aperti a partire dalle 9.30.

Corte Patrizia. Nature, wine & italian style ... what else?

Finally the time has come to share with you the pictures representing our last months’ greatest work.

The apartments of Agriturismo Corte Patrizia are ready and they seem to be a good reason for us to be satisfied. We hope you’ll appreciate them and our effort.

They are located in an ancient farmhouse, which in the past was also used as barn.

From the outside we tried to keep its authentic character during the renovation.

Inside all furnishing elements are rigorously high-qualitative Italian products and some of them are also design pieces (i.e. lighting by Artemide).

Many objects were found at home and each of them has its history.

Each apartment is dedicated to a charming woman of our family. Their images and vitality are fixed by original vintage shots with an enormous emotional bond.

Inside these apartments you may also find clear signs of our passion for the artist Jack Vettriano. Each of them looks out onto the vineyard. Thanks to the full-length windows it’s hard to perceive the borderline between where you are and where you look at; you simply really feel like being absorbed in the nature.

Could you imagine drinking a glass of good wine in front of this breathtaking view?

Probably that’s the paradise.
