Word's cannot even describe how excited I am. For those of you who also grew up on the show, I know you are just as excited as me.

For those who don't know, Party of Five stars Matthew Fox, Neve Campbell, Scott Wolf, Lacey Chabert, Jeremy London and Jennifer Love Hewitt. The show is about five children who lose their parents in a car accident and have to learn how to survive without them. It includes family drama, relationship drama, life decision drama - everything a great show needs! I recommend starting with Season 1 and working your way up to Season 3. The show began in 1994 and aired until 2000. There are six season's in total. We are half way there!

Also, just a reminder - Juno is currently out on DVD, so everyone should rush to the nearest Best Buy and pick it up!

Who is Sweeney Todd?

Director Tim Burton brings another awesome movie to DVD: Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Actors include Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Bron Cohen, Alan Rickman, Timothy Spall, Jamie Campbell Bower and the list goes on and on. Most importantly, know this movie is a MUSICAL! If you are not into musicals, do not watch this movie.

On a related note, I love seeing Johnny Depp sing.

Anyways, the movie tells the story of Benjamin Barker / Sweeney Todd (Johnny Depp) who opens a barber shop above Mrs. Lovett's (Helena Bonham Carter) Meat Pie Shop, which is famous for having awful meat pies. One by one, Benjamin Barker kills members of the corrupt aristocracy who take away his daughter. Barkers alter ego, Sweeney Todd, goes on a murderous rampage of everyone who comes into his barber shop, with an ultimate goal of killing Judge Turpin who has Todd's only daughter. To dispose of the bodies, Todd plans to help Lovett's meat pie business by grinding up the bodies to be used in the meat patties. I won't give away the ending, but everyone should see this movie!

When I first saw it, I was really confused because there is A LOT going on, but it's one of those movies you could watch a couple times and realize new things each time. The movie tends to be very bloody, but not scary. The quality of acting is superb and Johnny Depp does an amazing job. A must see movie!

Also, this film won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture for a Musical or Comedy and Johnny Depp snagged the Golden Globe for Best Actor in the same category. Way to go!

Coming to Theaters Friday:

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

88 Minutes

The Forbidden Kingdom

P2 is a scary movie?

P2 was released on DVD last week and of course it was at the top of my netflix. It is a thriller starring Rachel Nichols and Wes Bently (you know, the next-door-neighbor in American Beauty). Sadly, they were basically the only two people in the entire movie. The basic plot is its Christmas Eve in NYC and Angela (Rachel Nichols) is a hard working business woman late to her family's holiday party. Once she finally leaves, her car won't start and she soon realizes she is trapped in the building / parking garage with the parking lot security guy, Thomas (Wes Bently). Thomas turns out to be a crazy psychopath obsessed with Angela and is on a quest to spend Christmas Eve with her at any cost. Being a typical bad scary movie, I'm sure you can guess how it ends.

The film had unnecessary gory and was not scary at all (and I'm scared pretty easily). I only recommend this if you have nothing better to do, are into bad scary movies, or are excited to see Wes Bently in a movie again. Otherwise, don't waste your time.

New to DVD:
Lars and the Real Girl
Juno
Alien vs. Predator

New to Theaters:
Prom Night
Smart People
Street Kings
The Visitor

Welcome to the world of movies!

Well hello, and welcome! This is my blog debut and I'm so excited to bring as much talk about movies as humanly possible! I have been a movie fanatic ever since I can remember and as a frequent netflixer, I plan to bring you as much information about movies as I can.

So, I think I will jump right into the movie world -

Yesterday, I decided to take a break from homeworking and...surprise! watch a movie. I decide to watch the newly arrived netflix - The Things We Lost In The Fire - with Halle Barry and Benecio Del Toro. I have to say, the timing of watching the movie wasn't great. I was taking a break from reading in my Death and Immortality Religion class. I probably should have gone from something a little more uplifting. If you are looking for happy, this definitely isn't it.

The Things We Lost In The Fire is about a wife (Halle Barry) who loses her husband (David Duchovny) and has to deal with his best friend's (Benicio Del Toro) heroine addiction. Barry lets the Del Toro come live with her and her two children in hopes to save him from his drug addiction and feel better about hating him throughout her entire marriage to Duchovny. I think the movie was a little over-acted at certain points - for example while Del Toro was high - but I think Barry did a great job. Would I recommend it? If you are looking for a sad chick flick, or possibly a good drama...go for it. I definitely would not have paid $12 to go see it in theaters though.

Here's what we have to look forward to this week:

New to DVD:

Lions for Lambs

Water Horse

There Will be Blood

Walk Hard

New to theaters:

Leatherheads

Nim's Island

The Ruins
