Their theme song is infectious, and their facade is marvelous. True to its slogan, Solaire definitely changed the game. With their casino and hotel, no one has an excuse not to go to this new "IT" place. Find out how exciting it is that you just have to visit them now.

I experienced going to Solaire the first few weeks it opened. They hosted a Bloggers Comedy Night for us and it was held in one of their hotel rooms. Since it is just near the bay area, you can easily get a glimpse of the sunset from the room. The view is definitely a must see. And I must say that I am really amazed that they picked the prime spot.

At the ground floor stands the game area, while the second floor is cordoned for the VIPs. Membership is free, wi-fi is free, and their staff are very accommodating. They also have different food choices like Red Lantern, Strip Steakhouse, Finestra, Yakumi, Lucky Noodles, etc. I have yet to try the Red Lantern because of its dimsum-all-you-can feature.

Shuttle services are also free. We had our ride going to Chinatown. I know there are other drop off places around Metro Manila for your convenience.

The "Unkabogable" box office star and record breaking concert artist will hit Araneta's stage for his 3rd major solo concert this May 17 at the Big Dome. Titled "i-Vice Ganda Mo 'Ko Sa Araneta", this concert with barely a thousand tickets to sell left, is all set and raring to go!

I was happy to see Vice Ganda for the second time during the Press Conference of his concert. Just like weeks before, he surprised his guests when he went to the Smart Araneta Colisum to personally meet and sell tickets at the selling grounds. Bromance: My Brother's Romance Opens on Cinemas this May 15

How far would you go for your sibling? I'm sure that most of you would go to great lengths just so you could protect your loved ones. And that is Skylight Films' newest movie, Bromance: My Brother's Romance is all about. Starring Zanjoe Marudo, Cristine Reyes and again, Zanjoe Marudo, the "Bro ng Bayan" will tickle your funny bones this May 15, 2013. Playing the dual roles of Brando and Brandy, this Wenn Deramas obra maestra is expected to make you laugh your hearts out after the PH elections.

Attending the Press Conference last week, I learned that Zanjoe Marudo is Direk Wenn's first and only choice to play the Brando/Brandy role. He says, "Higit pa sa expectations ko ang nabigay ni Zanjoe. Kaya, rushes pa lang ng movie, habang pinapanood ko ang mga eksena ay pumapalakpak ako sa paghanga (kay Zanjoe). Lalo pa nga at may confrontation scenes sila Brando at Brandy".

So what is Bromance all about, if you may ask? This is a story of identical twins, Brando and Brandy, who fell apart when Brando can't accept his gay brother. Brando ran away from home and started his auto mechanic shop, but his life falls into debt. On the other hand, Brandy became a successful interior designer. When their mother asked Brandy to sort out things between Brando, he approached his brother but got on a tragic accident and falls into coma.

Unfortunately for Brando, he has to help his twin to close the multi-million peso deal that Brandy was about to close before the accident. With the help of Brandy's friends, they transformed his walk, talk, and appearance to pose as the latter. What Brando realized is that helping Brandy could also get him back his first love, Erica (played by Cristine Reyes), who happens to be his brother's best friend.

So what happens when Brando becomes Brandy? Will he ever pull off the psyche of his twin brother? And will he be able to close the deal without everyone knowing that he's only pretending to be Brandy? I'm so excited to watch this movie. Good thing May 15 is only few sleeps away.

Zanjoe Marudo mentioned that the challenge while doing the movie is more on the Brandy scenes. He said that its harder to play the role of a real gay than a real guy pretending to be gay. He also said that if given the chance to play a gay role in a dramatic movie, he would willingly accept it because it means that people appreciate his craft.

I'm the type of girl who wants to live her life like a fairy tale romance. But since my boyfriend would rather hit it at comedy and history, our setting would be a vintage rom-com film. And here goes my plot:

It is 1611, and Shakespeare wooed everyone of his first romantic comedy. And a budding writer, Hazel wanted to prove everyone that a girl can be successful in what she does. So she meets Jefferson, a renowned book publisher. He is searching for the next best thing in the publishing world. One day, they met at the marketplace when Jefferson bumped into Hazel while she was engrossed at her story. He got mad at her and thought she was a fool; making her throw him some eggs while he was moving away. He chased her throughout the town but she was just as fast as a speeding light. Good thing she know how to hide, and fast.

When her mentors told her that they would introduce her to a publisher, Hazel was confident that she will blow the editor's mind away with her ideas. Dressed for her part, she marched into the address given to her, armed with her manuscripts. She was then surprised that the person she is set to meet was Jefferson. She wanted to run, but how? Seeming like a trap, she couldn't help but apologize for her mistakes. On the other hand, he could not let go of what she did. He wanted revenge, because she underestimated her. He said that he will forgive her but she has to work for him as a maid.

Hazel was mad again! "How dare he is to bring me down!", she said. She stormed out of his house and left her manuscript. And to that, Jefferson read it and he was greatly impressed. He searched for her but her pride was too important. When she decided to leave the country, they found themselves seating on the same train coach. He apologized a million times and begun falling in love because they know that destiny is working for them.

That may be a corny plot, but hey, that's just me. You know what's not corny at all? KETTLE KORN! A movie night with my friends is never complete without it. It makes watching movies poppin' all the time. My favorite? Cheese Kettle Korn! I just love how you can hint a little caramel in it too. I don't mind getting my fingers all orange, Kettle Korn is my movie buddy and that stays forever.

Yes, that's me getting cheesy and corny again. But my love for Kettle Korn is this big and always poppin'!

During the Spanish times, zarzuela or a dramatic play is very popular in our country because of its musicals and colorful acts. In Zarzuela (by Savor), a play of Filipino flavors is in the place. Your authentic Pinoy dishes are given a twist, while being married to the heirloom recipes that they belong to.

Smoked Sardine Efuven (Php259)

Efuven's origin is Bacolod. It may look like the crispy noodles you used to munch when you were a kid, but this one is soft and yummy. The dish is paired with smoked sardines with tomatoes and flaked bangus bits.

Fountain of Youth (Php199)

Remember how get-togethers are intense, with your uncles singing videoke, while munching on their pulutan? Well, the Fountain of Youth is your not-so-average appetizer. Made of strips of pork belly, this is paired with green mango, bagoong dip and vinaigrette. So hello, extra pounds.

Crab and Shrimp Relleno (Php499)

This premium Crab and Shrimp Relleno cakes are simply the best in their seafood dishes. Served with calamansi hollandaise, you'd feel as if you're lounging next to the beach and having your vacation then and there. My aunts would definitely love these.

Sandwich's 15th Anniversary Album Out Now

Fat, Salt and Flame - that may sound like food but its the title of the new album by one of my favorite bands, Sandwich. Released by PolyEast Records, their new record for their 15th Anniversary was launched last April 12 at the Centris Walk, Eton Centris in Quezon City.

After seven award winning studio releases and jampacked concerts, Sandwich is back for more. Frontman Raymund Marasigan said “Fat, Salt & Flame represents primal elements that are the building blocks for a mind-blowing good time. Myrene (Academia, bass) came up with the phrase (Fat, Salt and Flame). We were probably talking about a good steak at the time.”

As the band returns for more after the release of 2010’s “Contra Tiempo”, the new album kicks off with the single “Back For More”-- weaving together the distinctive tones and melodies that have always been the heart of Sandwich. During their album launch, the crowd was literally asking for more. Here is the official video of this epic single, directed by musician/director RA Rivera.

Fat, Salt and Flame sounds like the work of a band caught between old habits and new adventures as Marasigan shared "In this album we rehearsed, wrote and tried out the songs live for almost a year and quite longer time compared to our previous albums. We took the songs out on the road for almost a year then we recorded it live in the studio. Then in fifteen days we recorded live at Sound Creation Studios and Tower of Doom."

The Road of Ariella Arida to the Bb. Pilipinas 2013 Crown

Last night, the 50th Binibining Pilipinas was crowned at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Fifty beautiful candidates competed for this prestigious title after various training sessions, outreach activities, TV guestings and the like. I am proud to be part of this historical event, as Ariella Arida, was chosen to be this year's representative to the Miss Universe Pageant.

Easy as it may seem, but the road to being a Binibining Pilipinas is not always a walk in the park. They have to undergo two months of non-stop activities together with the 2012 Binibining Pilipinas Winners. Just like last February 28, the Binibinis took part in a medical mission led by Bb. Pilipinas Charities Inc. Chairperson Stella Marquez Araneta and Smile Ambassador / Miss Universe 2012 1st Runner Up, Janine Tugonon.

Last March 9, sixteen of them impressed the spectators during the Bb. Pilipinas 2013 Talent Show held at the Gateway Mall Activity Area. And as part of their philanthropy, the Binibinis assisted in building homes for the typhoon victims in Tanay, Rizal on March 13 at the Gawad Kalinga Build Day, held at the Julio Iglesias-Araneta Cnter GK Village. Imagine trading their heels for a day of shoveling and helping out at the build site.

The National Costume Competition, where Binibini 37 Maria Teresita Baccay won for her best Filipiniana Attire, was held last March 18 at the Makati Shangri-La after their Press Presentation. And before the Pageant Night, the golden batch of candidates participated at the Annual Parade of Beauties last April 6 and a Fashion Show last April 11, that features the Summer Collection of Jag Jeans, Avon Accessories and the creations of Pitoy Moreno.

The coronation night was hosted by Mr. Martin Nievera and Ms. Dawn Zulueta, together with Venus Raj and Shamcey Supsup. The past 70 queens who captivated the International Pageant stage were also there to grace the event

Holy Week at The Walkway, Bonifacio High Street

My Holy Week for this year is about HIM. I may not be as devout as defined in the Webster's Dictionary, but I keep my faith along with my heart. And I think that's what matters, that you keep an honest and loyal relationship with God and yourself. Last Wednesday, I finally experienced THE WALKWAY: Reflections on the Stations of the Cross by Church Simplified, at the Bonifacio High Street. From March 24-31, it is open to the public for reflection and recollection.

First Station: The Garden - The Garden of Gethsemane is where Jesus Christ decided to pray for His fate. He did not question. And He didn't have to suffer, and although He is afraid, He did it for us. The act for this station is to look at the mirror and think of the things you fear about. Then pray and tell God to let you face those fears with Him.

Second Station: The Betrayal of Judas - This station shows the greatest betrayal of mankind. Judas is not just considered as an apostle, but Jesus treated him as a friend. I am deeply touched in this station because it is about forgiveness. As personal this may seem, I have been betrayed by too many people in this lifetime. And although it may seem bitter at times, it is written that Jesus will speak for us. And by that, I know that He will make me forgive..Someday, somehow.

Third Station: The Trial - Did you know that Jesus Christ's trial was the most unjust trial ever given in history? There was no one to defend Him. He was given a very inhumane verdict. The act? Know your best bet this coming elections. Pray that He will place the right people in the seat- someone who is with integrity, honesty, and the values of a great leader. Someone who would be fair when everything else isn't.

Fourth Station: The Verdict - Pontius Pilate is now coined as the History's Greatest Coward. Sure, he could have saved Jesus Christ, but he distanced himself from the execution just to make the people happy. This station rewrites the story. The story of God's favorite human beings - the children. By donating just Php5, proceeds will be forwarded to WE International Philippines' "Sponsor a Child" program. This little amount will help change lives, and change you to be a better person and not be a coward like Pilate.

Fifth Station: The Whip - This stop shows how Jesus is badly hurt when He was scourged. This torture is done just so we could be healed. He took our sins and placed it on His back. This station asks us to pray for yourself or someone you know who needs physical or emotional healing.

Sixth Station: The Curse - In ancient times, thorns are equivalent to a curse. God made everything perfect, but when Adam sinned for mankind, the Earth got cursed and so man must pay the price. We were given a green strip of cloth to place at Jesus' crown of thorns. This is a pledge that you will take care of God's creation. Alveo Land also promised to plant 300 trees in the various areas of Taguig City. Now I wish we have that in Manila as well.

Seventh Station: The Cross - Jesus carried His cross to the Calvary. For about a half a kilometer, He was suffering as He was flogged at the back. His cross was for us to bear, but He did it alone. He walked on the road that we could not even pass on. Here, you can experience what Jesus has been through by carrying the cross. It may seem so mundane, but this is as close as to knowing His hardship just so we could be saved.

Eighth Station: The Two Simons - This tells about Simon Peter and Simon of Cyrene. A contrasting story about a friend who denied Jesus, and a stranger who helped Him. My Simon of Cyrene is my friend Kath. When I was in dire need of help, she made it possible that I get back up from my sorrows. How about you? Who will you pray for in this station?

Ninth Station: The Crucifixion - Jesus is nailed to the cross because of a motivation. The motivation was love, and the motivation is YOU.

We were asked to write our sins using our fingertips at the red piece of cloth, then nail it to the cross. This part is very moving and I couldn't help but cry. The act says "Here at the foot of the cross, your Savior is reminding you that your sin is nailed to the cross - not in part, but in whole - and that you bear it no more.

You are FREE.

Tenth Station: The Mother - In His every step, Jesus Christ's mother, Mary, was there to guide Him, even in His death. But before He takes the last breath, He made sure to entrust His mother to John, a beloved friend. - Imagine a life without a mother. Seems daunting right? When I was younger, my Mom made sure that we see each other on weekends because I lived with my Grandma. I appreciated her sacrifices of going to Novaliches at night and going back to Manila after sending me off. I can never be the person I am now without my Mama. And even if we fight like cats and dogs most of the time, she knows that she's the person I couldn't live without.

Eleventh Station: The Promise - This station is about choices. Choices if we like to be with Him in Paradise or stay worldly. You have a choice. And you must do it wisely.

Twelfth Station: The Darkness - This is the point where Jesus commits His spirit to the Father. This is the point when all the light in the world has disappeared because Jesus died for us.

As we enter the tent, we were fumbling because we might stumble to the darkness. But then, Jesus' death became a promise that light will be given to those who ask for it.

Thirteenth Station: The Cloth - Jesus tells Peter that the work is finished. By laying the piece of cloth, Jesus sends the message that all these is done for mankind. This reminds us also that God will complete the good work he has for our lives.

For the act, we wrote the name of the person whom we feel has touched our life in a special way. And of course, I have written the people who matters to me a lot. I will be forever grateful that they are in my life, whether I am happy or sad.

Fourteenth Station: The Invitation - You stumbled in my blog for a reason. And maybe, its because you wanted to see how the Walkway has touched me in a very profound way. Kudos to Church Simplified for making this possible. I will be forever grateful that you made me cry and be happy at the same time.

It has always been my dream to travel the world. But as I grow older, I had a clear view of what I should do first: discover my country, know how it works and preserve it just as it was handed to us by its Maker. I have been to Iloilo, Bohol, Ilocos, Mindoro, Batangas, Davao, etc. and I have yet to see Palawan soon. I was in awe of its beauty, but somehow, there are companies who would do anything for a living, even if it means that my beloved country and its territory is at stake.

Just recently, I came across an article about the Energy Development Corporation at the Manila Standard Today and heard of the landslide in its geothermal facility in Leyte where 14 workers died. They should be aware that even if they paid the land that they're working on, they should be liable for the destruction, let alone be responsible for the people who are affected by their lack of safety.

But what's more dreary about this issue is how Ms. Gina Lopez, an advocate on the mining in Palawan talks about saving the environment, while her family is into the business itself. And if that's the real score, why is the government making this look like they're playing favorites? It is still because of the long time "utang na loob" of the Aquinos to the Lopezes?

And if not, why did the Semirara Coal and Mining Company got an immediate suspension when their company caused the landslide in their area? Is politics still running the game to the expense of ruining the environment?

I just hope that the mining issue, and all other environmental problems be a top priority for the environmentalist groups and the soon to be leaders of the country. Its never too late to solve a problem that's been going on for years, if we put the people who genuinely cares for the country. Do you think that the 2013 elections will change how things run around?

That I hope so. Or let's just say goodbye to the future of our generation and the latter.

It Takes A Man and A Woman Reunited John Lloyd and Sarah in the Big Screen

Who among the readers here doesn't know Miggy and Laida? As a rom-com (romantic comedy) fan, I've seen the first two installments of Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz's movies - A Very Special Love and You Changed My Life. This love team, not matter how reel it is, will definitely make you all giddy and more in love with their third movie, It Takes A Man and a Woman, showing this March 30.

This movie is also under the direction of Cathy Garcia-Molina, who also made the first two films of the franchise. Four years after their break-up, we will finally know what happened to then-editorial assistant, Laida Magtalas and Flippage editor-in-chief, Miggy Montenegro.

From 'a very special love' that both 'changed their lives,' Laida and Miggy will start to deal with their new selves in the same old company where their feelings started to blossom. The ex-sweethearts were transformed by the deeper emotional journeys that they both went through--from the simple and obedient executive assistant, the film reveals the braver, fiercer and career-oriented Laida; while the naughty bachelor Miggy will be seen now on a new phase in his life.

And now there's a new twist. It Takes a Man and A Woman also features model-host Isabelle Daza, who will play the character of Belle, the socialite girlfriend of Miggy. The film will also have its regular stars from the first two, Rowell Santiago, Joross Gamboa, Gio Alvarez, Matet De Leon, Al Tantay, Irma Adlawan, Guji Lorenzana, and Dante Rivero. According to actor-director Rowell Santiago, who played as Miggy's elder brother, Art Montenegro in "A Very Special Love" and "You Changed My Life," it is not only the public who are excited in the nearing launch of "It Takes A Man And A Woman" but all the cast members of the film themselves.
