Happy Saturday everyone!

Hope you're having a great weekend thus far. I'm just taking the afternoon off at home with the little girl. No agenda whatsoever. Sometimes it's just fun to spend a lazy afternoon at home doing absolutely nothing. Well, except for blog that is.

So for a nice and relaxing weekend post, why don't we look at some makeup? Here's my Clinique loot. Don't laugh. I know it's a lot. I haven't even touched my UD Naked Palette and Tarte Femme Naturale eye palette. Good lord, what am I gonna do with all this makeup? Good problem to have, yes? Perhaps a blog giveaway soon? :) *wink wink*

Up-close

I carry this in my everyday makeup kit. This is clearly becoming a favorite. I love all these shades and it's so super convenient.

Another palette with more pink shades. Haven't used this yet.

Dual eyeshadow kit. I bet this shade of green will be a nice color to wear for the summer. I love the metallic case. Very chic.

I carry this palette around too. I am so loving the blush. Very natural and is pretty long-wearing.

And of course, I'm sure yall know these...the Clinique chubby sticks are pretty hot right now! I'm using the 04 in Mega Melon. It gives a "your lips but better" look. Very natural and good for everyday especially since it moisturizes. My only gripe about this is that since my lips are very dry, I still have to apply EOS lip balm first before swiping this on because this alone, is not enough to moisturize my lips. Plus it also takes a while for the color to show up. I kinda need to keep rubbing it in. Other than that, it's super fun to use. You feel like a kid playing with crayons. These look really cute too don't you think?

So there. Hope you enjoyed eyeballing my Clinique stuff. I'm also using some Clinique skincare products but I'll leave that for another post.

Frustrated

Okay pardon the weird things that have been happening to my blog recently. I know I said I was going to change my URL. But because of the pain of importing posts and losing all followers, I had to revert back. Sorry if I confused you all. I got a lot of messages asking why I took down my blog. Don't worry guys, it's back.

I've also been contemplating on turning this blog into a .com until I found out this morning that someone already bought lootwagon.com, which I find quite weird.

You can tell I'm pretty frustrated at this point. Sigh. But no worries, it's just one of 'dem days. Nothing a little shopping can't cure. hahaha.

So back to regular programming. More posts soon. Love you all.

My very own Urban Decay Naked Palette!

Not a lot of people know that I once started as serious beauty blogger. Beauty blogging was the reason why I got into blogging in the first place. I used to do the whole tutorial thing and would feature different makeup looks. That was then.

For some reason, my appetite for makeup waned a bit. And when I became a mom and got so busy with work, I really didn't have that much time to do the whole shebang anymore. My everyday look would just be about putting on some light foundation, blush, mascara and lipbalm. That's it.

Recently though, my love for makeup started creeping back.

I'm back to collecting makeup and trying new things. I'm sure you've noticed that in my recent posts. So when my bro and parents asked me what I wanted to get as pasalubong, in a heartbeat I said I wanted an Urban Decay Naked Palette. Course, they had to ask my sister to help with the shopping in Sephora as they had no idea what in the world an Urban Decay Naked Palette was.

I so wanted my own palette because I like neutral, everyday looks, nothing intense. And this palette happens to be a cult-favorite, and is popular for delivering nice neutral looks.

So when they arrived from the States last Tuesday, my heart literally skipped a beat when I saw this. My very own Naked palette. Awesome.

God it's so purrrrrty. Can't help but stare at this. The shades are so up my alley.

Palette comes with a small bottle of the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, which as we all know is not available locally, unless purchased through a reseller. I'm excited to try this and see why a lot of girls are raving about this.

I guess there's nothing left to do but see what kind of looks I can pull off with this palette! I'll try to share some looks soon. #girlwagkangtamarin.

In the meantime, this is one of my favorite Youtube reviews done by Jennifer of From Head to Toe. People say you can hardly do intense looks with this palette but she proves that you can make a fierce smokey eye look using this palette, combined with other products. Meeting a Creative Genius: James Jean

Early this month, I was part of the team that helped organize the events for James Jean's 2nd visit to Manila. I must admit, I had no idea who the guy was up until he came. Even if my boss seemed like such a huge fan of his work, the enormity of his talent didn't quite sink in, up until I saw this at the center of the store a few days before his arrival.

Holy kamote... what a creative genius! No wonder tons and tons of people have been messaging us like crazy, just dying to meet the guy!. And then I read up on his work. He has done the cover for all Fables issues except for one, and has done a lot of work for advertising. One of the coolest works he's done would be designing a line for Prada. Check these out.

Yes Ladies and Gentlemen, that is a building that you see there. He designed that for Prada.

I felt like such a knucklehead, how can I not know James Jean and his amazing work! Ayayay.

Anyway, in preparation for his arrival, the holidays have been super busy for us. And speaking of being busy, here are some my "busy-busyhan" moments.

Agahan: All-Day Breakfast

It is quite rare for people to dream big and really go for it! I speak for those in my circle of friends at least. We've all dreamed big at some point in our lives, but as soon as reality kicks in, we either choose another path or we just settle. The latter, being a rather depressing reality. But, there are exceptions. One of my bestest buddies had a dream and she took the bull by the horns and just went for it! And now, she is a full-fledged restaurateur and I couldn't be prouder!

She opened Agahan back in November of 2011, which is an all-day breakfast place that serves all kinds of breakfast food....from your typical tapsilog, to rainy day comfort food such as champorado't tuyo. They also have GG on their menu, an all-time pinoy favorite! They have the best pancake sets and different kinds of hot porridge to warm one's tummy, the latter I have yet to try though. My personal favorite I would have to say would be the cereals. I'm a fan of cereals! And I love that in Agahan I can have my cereals any time of the day! Lurvet.

My ToughBrats

Before the holidays, I placed an order for a Toughbrats bag. I wanted a bag that looks semi-satchelish (here I go again with the inventing of terms) and doesn't look like a regular laptop bag. Saw the Felix tote and knew I just had to have it. They had a 10% off promo with free shipping so I just had to take advantage of it.

The delivery part got a bit tricky though. It must have been the craziness of the holidays..I don't know. I won't get into details. I'm just glad that the owner apologized for the delays and delivered as committed. I'm sure it was an isolated case so I'll leave it at that. Plus with the kind of bag that I got, all my frustrations flew out the window the moment the motorcycle man showed up at my doorstep.

I asked for a fun color for the inner lining and got this! Tough on the outside, fruity on the inside...which kinda describes some people I know. teehee. I mean that in a good way.

This can actually fit a bigger laptop methinks. The best part about this bag is that you can wear it in three ways.... backpack, tote or messenger. Comes with the handles for however which way you'd want to wear it. How I wish they could have used sturdier zippers though. I feel the ones used were not very high-quality. Also, the big spaces near the zipper enclosure sort of bugs me. Parang nagtatawag lang ng mandurukot. Other than that, I think it's a pretty well-built bag.

The irony of it all, is that the moment I got my laptop bag, the very next day I was given a desktop computer in the office. Noice. So turns out, I don't need to bring my laptop to work anymore! #AwesomeTiming. So much for showing this off huh! What the heck, I think I can still use this even without a laptop. It helps that it doesn't look like a typical laptop bag too.

Nursing a sore foot + Riovana launches Saucony Running Shoes

So hub and I have been discussing our plans to start getting fit this year. He actually started cycling as of yesterday and he plans to make it a regular thing.

I on the other hand, have been sitting on my ass the whole weekend. Not by choice. My left foot has been sore as hell. Thanks to a not-so-healthy bowl of Beef Brisket noodles from David's Tea house. I am sooooo not eating there ever again. The moment I finished eating, my head started hurting real bad. On the ride home, I can literally feel the pain crawling to my foot. When I woke up in the morning, I couldn't walk. I was in pain for the past 3 days. Couldn't get anywhere without a cane. Sorry for starting the day with a rant but that's the truth.

Now I really have to be more careful with what I eat. Plus I really need to start exercising. I am seriously considering running, but only until I'm sure that it's safe for me #somehealthconsiderations

Flipping Through Magazines

When I held post as Marketing Manager of a spa some 5-6 years ago, I would receive tons and tons and tons of magazines. It was insane. At some point, I didn't even know where to put 'em. So to dispose of everything, I decided to give them away by batches to different people. Whoever would drop by my desk, I'd ask if them if they wanted a magazine. I did that until there was nothing left on my desk.

When I left that job, that's when I realized how much I've missed flipping through magazines. These are the ones that I just finished reading this month.

Women's Health---baka sakaling ma-encourage ako to live healthy this year, and OK! - for my hollywood chismax fix. Awesome job on this issue Frances! I especially liked the feature on Mariah's twins! I also love Jen Aniston and since she's on the cover, hey! what's not to love!

But perhaps I should start going back to reading parenting mags too. I don't know why I even stopped in the first place. Parenting mags give tons of useful advice and at this point in time, I think I can use some advice right about now. My two year old learned to say "bastos" and she won't stop using it! Terrible-twos na nga. Kakashokot!

This Jan/Feb issue of Smart Parenting seems to be interesting. Especially since they touch on manners.

Nakiki-Uso: EOS lipbalm

Everybody's raving about it. Even Hollywood celebs use it.

Henceforth, kelangan ko talaga maki-uso. I just got mine in the mail today. Woot!

I got the EOS lipbalm in Summer Fruit. The packaging is the cutest. Really, for the packaging alone, I'd buy it right off the shelf. #I'mAMarketer'sDream

Their website says the EOS lipbalm is 95% organic and has the following:

Long-lasting moisture
Shea butter & vitamin E
Smoothes on clear
New smooth sphere precisely glides on to lips
Twist-off top
Gluten-free
Paraben-free
Petrolatum-free
Phthalate-free

So is it all it's made up to be? IMHO...Yes, yes and yes!

It smells good, it moisturizes my lips, and it tastes good too. I love the sphere-shape which makes it unique. The only hitch is, you can't really put it in your pocket because of the shape. But then again, I ain't complaining. It's the kind of thing you'd wanna keep using cause it's just too darn cute.

I'd like to try the other variants particularly Lemon Drop (with SPF) and Sweet Mint which are both pretty popular too. But judging from the size of this lipbalm, it is going to take a very long time to finish this up.

Trying Tribu

I was invited to try the food at Tribu Express. I must admit, I've never heard of the place. Judging from the name alone, I thought it was a dimsum place.

Hub and I trooped over to the Commonwealth branch. This is what the store looks like. The interiors look pretty similar to that of Tokyo Tokyo's, only they use orange as the dominant color instead of red. Yup that's me on the counter.

Apparently, TFC or Tribu Fried Chicken is what the place is known for. Course, we had to try the whole lot. We've had our fill of these.

2 pc. TFC with rice, liempo with rice, potato flats community (meaning family size) with two dips and the Bagoong rice.

The chicken reminds me of Popeye's. The 2pcs. TFC with "unli" rice is P99. Mura-ness.

Potato Flats comes with two dips of your choice. I chose Mayo Bagoong and Buffalo Express.

But you know what dish will remain swimming in my memory? It's this Bagoong Rice dish.

I've had a lot of bagoong rice dishes in the past. A LOT. And almost all of them have fallen short of expectation. And by"expectation" what I mean is that it lacks that kick of bagoong. To taste rice that feels like the whole batch was only given a spoonful of bagoong feels like a complete waste to me. Tinipid.

But this dish was one of the best bagoong rice dishes I've tasted ever. #WalanghalongPR. It comes with a serving of green mangoes, tomatoes, eggs and pork. I've quit rice but this made me forget about my diet at least for one day. It is what bagoong rice ought to be. The bagoong flavor should be strong and should be savored in every bit of rice. Definitely worth checking out methinks.

We asked to interview one of the Managers. MJ was very accommodating and very knowledgeable about the company and its beginnings. He said that Tribu started in San Bruno, California by a Filipino family. They called it Tribu to refer to a community, clan or a group of people.

Upon further research, I actually found out that the place has been a popular Fil-Am hang-out and it still is. The family that put up the resto decided to bring it to local shores and have opened three branches, one in Berkeley Square Tandang Sora, Commonwealth and Pampanga. Soon to open would be the SM Marikina. I wonder what's with the choice of locations though?

Was told that the place might go through a whole re-branding/relaunch pretty soon. That would be interesting to see. IMHO it would be nice if they would consider opening in the more accessible malls and districts. At least those that a lot of us frequent.

One piece TFC (minus the drink) is P49. I heard that the Inasal is quite good too. I would say that with the choice of location and its price points, these guys definitely cater to the masses. It's the kind of place that would fit the budget-conscious, and the mahilig sa "unli-rice". In my case, I'd say that the bagoong rice is enough reason for me to come back.

Got this dress from Mango on sale. From P 1,9k + it was down to P 990. I didn't think much of it until I put it on... Huwaw....may slimming effect. Win!

I don't know if it's that high waist happening there, or that drapey skirt on one side...whatever it is, it works! Plus it's a lightweight easy-to-wear kinda thing that you can just throw-on. You can either dress it up with pearls and heels, or dress it down with flats and a vintage-looking necklace, like I did.

Discovering Riovana

Around this time of the year, we start thinking of ways to shed off those extra pounds. Yeah, no thanks to those back-to-back lafok-to-death moments, which I'm sure we've all indulged ourselves in over the holidays. In my case, it was those two trips to Cebu that really killed my diet. Yup, Cebu lechon. Who can resist.

With that extra flab sitting on my tummy, my conscience is telling me "Woman, seriously. Look at yourself!" and I have to admit, I am slowly listening to that little voice, especialy now that beach season is just around the corner.

To be honest, I have been thinking about running. Yes, it has crossed my mind, can you believe?Me and my fat ass...running. At present, I actually do a bit of running, that is when I chase my 2 year old as she darts off in lightning speed. Seriously, how can someone so small, be so fast? My child is obviously the one with the penchant for running. So I in turn, have to run after her...then in that case, I guess "chasing" would be the more appropriate term.

Course, if I do consider doing some serious running, it would be nice to be dressed in some fancy running gear. And so I've decided to check out Riovana. The moment I stepped into the BGC store, I knew that I have just set foot in the mecca and mothership of all things umm....running.

This is the store facade. Riovana in BGC is located on 9th street, in that new building where Mothercare, Active Fun and Toys R' Us are. Very strategic location if you ask me.

Right in front of the store, the street is filled with runners darting from both left and right. I've noticed that they would just pop in the store on random, and in all their sweaty gear. They all seemed like they knew each other and that they were completely at home. Obviously, this hub is more than just a retail store, it really is a place that brings together people who are passionate about running... a place that has fostered its own community. Thanks to Coach Rio I guess.

Happy 2012!

It is the first day of the year and I can't help but reminisce on the year that was.

I have to admit 2011 was tough for me. There were a lot of disappointments but also a lot of lessons learned. At the end of the day, I think everything I've been through the past year has really toughened me up and has made me a better person.

On a lighter note, it wasn't all that bad. There were a lot of good things that the year has churned out. In fact, here are some of my favorite moments and things of 2011.

Being able to facebook, twitter, write emails on-the-go and be connected 24/7 has really changed the way I work and think. But to be honest, although I really am a BB user, the iPhone 4S has really gotten me curious. REALLY. I'm sure curious din kayo. #ToSwitchOrNotToSwitch

The day hub got me this pair of Fitflops, is the day that I have never looked at a pair of sandals the same way everrrrr again. I've always thought that this was just a ridiculously-priced footwear that happens to have some really good marketing behind it. But I've been wronged. This footwear talks the talk. It is the single most comfortable piece of sandals that has taken me through long walks or standing for hours, without a single ache on my sole. Not a single ache. Amazing.

I've always loved neck pieces. I guess this is proof.

The Etude Proof 10 liquid liner is brilliant. It's so easy to work with and dries up quite quickly. I can make the line as thin or as thick as I want, minus the mess-up. It's really hard to go wrong with this. As long as you don't go making a line while in a moving vehicle. I've done that. #ItAintPretty

The day I decided to grow my hair out from the usual bob, is probably one of the best "hair" decisions, I've made this year. Thanks to Tony & Jackey for the awesome rebond which has kept my tresses at bay.

My little girl is 2 years old and makes a whole lotta mess at home. This kind of mess is one of those that makes me smile. Some "dunk-your-doll-in-play-doh" action happening here.

This dress is actually a year-ender purchase for me in Forever 21. For 2012, one of my new year's resolutions include not shying away from wearing pretty dresses like this. Which means, I also need to work harder to keep in shape. #EasierSaidThanDoneMeThinks

And finally, here's a pic of me and my family, waking up on a Saturday morning and just going bonkers in front of the camera. These moments are truly golden.

Hubby's Film Won!

This year is packing quite a punch as it draws to a close. Hub's film "Pintakasi" (click to watch the trailer), where he was the Music and Sound Director as well as one of the scriptwriters, won the award for Best New Wave Full-Length Indie Film in the recently concluded 37th Metro Manila Film Festival Awards.

Hub BBMed me this pic while they were waiting for the results to be announced. I wanted him to take photos of what the stars were wearing but he couldn't do it. On his right is Best Actor for Pintakasi, JM De Guzman. Awesome acting! I couldn't have thought of a better actor to play the role of "Tikboy".

What I Want

Can you believe it's already the 24th of December? Golly Geez...Time sure flies.

I was actually in a sullen mood the past few weeks. With the recent tragedy, it's kinda hard to celebrate knowing that there is so much suffering happening out there. I did my own mini-relief operations that turned out to be not so mini anymore, thanks to everyone that helped. Here's the story.

Today, I'm taking Ate Lorie's family for a pre-Christmas pasyal. Ate Lorie is Tala's yaya and her whole family is spending Christmas with us. She's been nothing but good to us, having been with us for two years. Sometimes I feel guilty knowing that she has two kids that she has to leave in the province, just so she can work and take care of my kid. I'm taking them for rides in an amusement park. I'm excited for that. We leave in two hours.

So for the sake of posting a Christmas wishlist, although I feel I already have everything I could ever want right here....these things would surely give another giddy skip to my step and added twinkle in my eye.

I want E.O.S. lipbalms in all possible variants and flavors. I'm placing my order after the holidays.

I want another KOR bottle. This is what I have. The 700 ml Kor One which I've been using for events and travel. I find it too bulky though.

So I want a Kor Delta. The small one that I can stick in my bag. Preferably in Orange.

My bottle of Comme des Garcons Sherbet no. 5 is almost empty. I want more of this.

This is my everyday scent.

I want bars and bars of white Dove soap. It's the only soap that agrees with my skin. I always get red blotches after I shower. This is the only soap that doesn't give me that.

A satchel-like bag for my laptop. I already ordered the brown one through Tough Brats. I got the Felix which can be used in three ways: a tote, a messenger bag or a backpack. The holidays seem to be quite busy for them so I'm getting my bag on December 30 or Jan 3.

Being in my early 30s, I must admit those nasty lines are starting to creep up. I believe that if you are going to invest on skincare, it has to be on a good moisturizer. But I don't know if I'm ready to splurge on this one. I want to be a La Mer woman. Darating tayo jan.

New Foundation

Back in July, I tried the Tony Moly Real Essence Foundation in shade 3. This was my post back then.

This is the photo I took just now.

See, almost finished! I can't believe it lasted almost 5 months. I'm so proud that I bought something and actually used it till the last squirt.

I can honestly say that I have nothing but good things to say about this product. The packaging is very efficient because you can tell exactly how much product you have left. It gives light to medium coverage, blends well on skin, no unsightly break-outs, very light to carry around in its plastic bottle and is very affordable at P628.

Perhaps my only gripes with this foundation is that it doesn't help control oil and that around 4-5pm, you may have to retouch because some of the coverage may have stripped off especially if you sweat a lot and are active all throughout the day. Also it has slight pink-ish undertones. That's a con for me as I have yellow undertones. But for some reason, it did work and for a long time at that.

I am actually sad that I have to bid goodbye to this one. But saying goodbye to one product, means the opportunity to try another. And for this, I am saying hello to my new "abang" foundation. I got it yesterday from the MAC store in Trinoma.

I am both excited and anxious to try this one. The MAC Select with SPF 15 gets mixed reviews online. The SA in the MAC store recommended this to me though versus the Studio Fix Foundation because I said that I didn't want a foundation that is too heavy especially since I am already a MAC Studio Fix powder user and I use that to set my makeup.

She said that the powder on its own is already a foundation, so to have two foundations on my face might be a little too thick already. Oo nga naman, makes sense.

Apparently, this one is medium coverage, matte and is not too heavy. So there, I didn't think twice about taking this home.

But like I said earlier, I'm excited and anxious to try this out. Based on reviews, it's either you love it or you hate it. The packaging also kinda scares me. I completely forgot that this came in a bottle without a pump. Rats. How do you girls deal with this? Do you transfer your foundation to a pump bottle? Do you buy a separate pump? How much? Siyempre ang daming tanong. hehe.

Also what surprised me is the fact that the SA tried on all sorts of swatches on my face and she says that I am an NC25. I thought I was always N30. What a revelation!

Can't wait to give this a whirl, while finishing the last drops of my foundation. Yuh, I want to make sulit my money like dut. Don't we all? :)

Stuff I'm Loving

A few things that I've been loving at the moment...

A pair of white pearl earrings set on white gold that my Hub surprised me with over the weekend. He dropped by the office unannounced and handed me these classic beauties. See, I once had a white gold ring, one that I hardly wore. So what he did was that he had the gold from that ring melted and had it turned into a pair of lovely earrings.... something he's sure I would definitely wear. And he's right. I wear these everyday.

Next, I dropped by Adora today and went home with this shopping bag. What's inside you may ask?

Something from the Comme des Garcons Parfums section, that's what! This part of the store is where I lingered for a long time. I just allowed myself to get lost in all the alluring scents. Each bottle of perfume was a new discovery...some of them even evoked a memory or two.

I also got some helpful advice from the sales person in that section as she talked to me about notes and how perfume reacts to different types of skin depending on the body chemistry and skin acidity. Very interesting stuff.

After moving from one bottle to the next, I finally stumbled on a scent that (for a lack of a better term)... arrested me. I sniffed again and like love at first sight, this was definitely a case of love at first umm...sniff.

The Comme des Garcons Sherbet Cinnamon Series 5. It has notes of Cinnamon, Cedar, Bergamot, Saffron, Carnation, Vetiver, Teak Wood and White Musk. I'm actually surprised that it has musk. Everyone who knows me, knows that I am not a fan of musk. The musk part may have been downplayed by all its other counterparts so the result is just a clean alluring scent that stays on for a long time.

The moment I tried the scent on my skin and walked around the store, I knew it was a match made in heaven. It is exactly the kind of scent that I've been looking for. Nothing too overpowering, nothing too fruity and nothing too cosmopolitan either. It's a scent that doesn't demand attention but definitely deserves a second look.

If I were to personify the scent, it would be a girl with a classic beauty who is confident and comfortable in her own skin. Instead of prancing around in 4 inch pumps, she chooses to walk around in flats, jeans and a tight white tee. Low-key, unassuming but confident.

Can you tell how much I love this scent? I went as far as creating a character for it! hahaha. The CdG Sherbet also comes in Rhubarb and Peppermint, which are also both very popular scents I've come to learn.

I'm just so ecstatic that I found this scent! For the longest time, my default scent was always Clinique Happy. But at least now, I've found an alternative. One that I will surely enjoy using till the last spritz.

Anyway, aside from getting a high from perfume-shopping, what makes shopping in Adora so awesome, are the freebies! I got two free vials of their popular scents. One is MAN Comme des Garcons (left) and one is the Maison Francis Kurkdjian (right) which is also another to-die-for scent. But I don't think I'm ready to blow my money off on a full bottle that costs 9k.

So aside from the Cinnamon Sherbet, I also have a total of three three vials that I can tote around in my purse. The middle bottle is the F by Ferragamo, which I am still learning to like at the moment but I feel as though it doesn't quite fit my personality. Does that even make sense?

FitFlopping on my Birthday

This evening, hub picked me up and said, "wanna shop for your gift?". Course I said yes.

I thought I really wanted a watch, I guess I still do. But while we were walking around the mall trying to look for a nice timepiece, we happened to pass by the FitFlop stall and before I knew it, I had this in my arms.

Okay I normally don't carry shopping bags this way. #Amjustsayin.

Someone told me before that these are certified mommy sandals. Might be true. They're supposed to prevent back pains from excessive walking. I guess this the kind of footwear you need when you're chasing around your toddler or something.

"Working out while walking" now that's a concept I'm open to trying. Plus my feet are snug and fitfloppingly happy in these so who can complain...

Desserts Abound

Yesterday, I attended and helped organize the Dessert Comes First Christmas Gift List Food Bazaar (whew! what a mouthful!). It was a food bazaar showcasing delectable food choices as selected by food writer/blogger Lori Baltazar of Dessert Comes First. If you love your desserts, you guys ought to follow her. She's an awesome woman!

We were in Fully Booked at 9am, running to and fro to help set up TopShelf for the big event. When the event started and I got my ticket, I felt like I had just died and gone to heaven. Literally. There was food everywhere. And not just your usual bazaar finds...these are 18 carefully selected purveyors... the best of the best, of the best.

Food coma levels ito mga teh. I then realized that my choice of outfit that evening was an absolutely wrong decision as I wore a tight fitting LBD. Obvious ang pagkabundat. Hindi ko naitago.

I didn't get to finish all the 18 food stops so I gave some of the treats away. Ladies and gents, feast your eyes on these....

Wishlist

November is my birth month so I decided to do the customary wishlist. Aminin, this is our way of not just calling out to the universe what our hearts desire, but is also our way of making parinig to our loved ones na "Pssst...if you're gonna get me anything, check my list!"

These are the goods that I've been lusting for.

I want a KOR One or a KOR Delta. I'd like to say that I want one purely for health-reasons and because I now fully understand the importance of hydration....or because I want to be eco-friendly so I carry my own bottle around. But the truth of the matter is, ang ganda lang niya. And I want to have the satisfaction of saying "Excuse me...this is not a water bottle. this is a hydration vessel". NAMAAAAN!

I think it's about time that I let my current laptop bag retire. I usually just put it in a flimsy black foamed bag and stick in my Nat Geo canvass bag. I don't think I'm doing a good job in taking care of my laptop this way. I need a laptop bag that will protect the computer and won't look like an actual laptop bag. Now that the holidays are near, the metro is crawling with muggers and the last thing we want is to be obvious that we're carrying something as valuable as a computer. So I've been browsing through the site of Tough Bra ts and they seem to have trendy satchel-like laptop bags that are worth a second look.

Can I just tell you...eversince I watched an episode of the Rachel Zoe project, and I saw her sporting a gold boyfriend watch, that thing has been looming in my head like a bad hang-over. Something like this Marc Jacobs piece would definitely make me grin from ear to ear. As in labas na ang gilagid levels.

Okay usapang bags nanaman. God I want a Chloe Paraty in black. This bag is literally haunting me. I know its an old design. I don't care. I. WANT. IT.

And because this year, I've proven to myself that I can actually pull of being a mom to a toddler, a wife to my husband and juggling two jobs in between, I would so loooove to go an a break. I want to clear my head and just have some valuable vacation time with the family. No abrupt cellphone calls on weekends, no pestering clients, no deadlines and reports to finish... just me, my family and the beach.

Haaay. Ang sarap mangarap noh?

Cheap Kabuki

I was browsing around Landmark in TriNoma when I noticed a counter with tons of makeup brushes on display. I mindlessly picked up one of them...a kabuki brush, and my jaw dropped the moment I touched the bristles. The bristles are densely packed, soft and oh-so-fluffy! The quality is comparable with the more expensive branded versions. Could it possibly be the same supplier that decided to mass-produce? I don't know. The only difference with this, is that it doesn't come in a fancy cutesy packaging.

I tried it yesterday while applying on my MAC powder and it worked really really well! It deposited the powder on my skin perfectly. Galing!

And you know what the best part is? The price! It's only freakin' P 129 ($3). Now tell me that ain't a good deal!

Goodbye Frizzies

I've been hating on my hair for the past few months. You know that awkward phase between not quite long and not quite short? Well my hair is in that stage now. It's thick and the dryness caused by months of neglect seemed to have finally taken its toll on my hair. Observe...

Actually it doesn't look half as bad in this pic, but trust me. The kinks are all over. Marunong lang ata ako umanggulo kaya di masyadong obvious. I think Tala was also having some sort of a bad hair day in this pic too. She just woke up from a nap and went straight to munching her tiny cupcake.

So over the weekend, I decided to troop over to Bang's Tony & Jackey in The Block. I asked to avail of the Loreal Extenso Rebonding which was at P3,000. But after the consultation with Eugene, the Korean stylist, she recommended (or rather the Filipino staff who acted as her translator did), that I should avail of the additional P1,000 for Strong Curl, which should straighten out the kinks in my hair. And then she recommended that I avail of the Kerastase treatment with cut which was another P1,000. I know that somewhere during that "consultation" I was being heavily sales talked already. But for some reason, maybe I just didn't wanna argue considering the language barrier, I caved. Before I knew it, I was shampooed and that contraption on my head was plugged in. I feel like a space girl.

To kill time as the rebond took 4 hours, they handed me a wireless keyboard...

...So I can surf the net using the mirror which converts into a screen for browsing. High-tech!

Mejo nakaka-conscious lang magbrowse because while you're Facebooking, the one putting treatment on your hair is also checking out your news feed. Mejo nawalan ako ng gana so I just said "Umm.. sige po magazine nalang kung meron. "

If there's anything that would have made the experience more worthwhile was if they served drinks. Ang tagal ng rebond ha. Nakatuyo ng lalamunan. Also, sensing the growing tension between the Korean stylists and the Filipino staff was a little uncomfortable. At some point I think I was just a little too bothered by the tension, not to mention I was extremely starved that by the time the rebond was over, I just paid and rushed out of the salon. And here's the embarrassing part... (I still want to kick myself in the shin when I think about it and if it were only remotely possible to do that)... I rushed out and on the road home, I realized that I forgot to tip! Kakahiya! I bet the next time I go back, they'd probably say "Hey! that's the girl that doesn't tip" Embarrassing! *facepalm*

Anyway, here's a pic taken a day after. Yes, hindi pa nabasa ang hair ko niyan. You know how it is. Kaya pag bagong rebond, bawal magpapawis.

All in all, it was a good salon experience, minus all the weirdness in between. My hair is super soft and manageable. But the true test happens once I've wet my hair tomorrow. Let's see how that goes.
