You all know I've been studying Vet Tech for the past year, so let me tell you what that entails. Aside from being President of the Vet Tech Club...

Vet Techs can do everything but four things that only Veterinarians can do:
1) We cannot do surgeries.
2) We cannot prescribe medication. We can fill prescriptions, but not prescribe anything.
3) We cannot give Prognosis or Diagnosis to our clients about our patients... which includes reassuring that their animal is going to be alright...
4) We cannot instigate treatment without the doctor giving us permission to do so.

I've come to realize that somehow I always wind up in the lion's den....
Literally...

My first week, we did a Cattle lab in Animal Handling and Restraint. I'm somewhat afraid of cattle, but thought I could manage. We were gathering up the cattle and fencing them off so that we could drive them into the chute. I was just trying to follow the herd of students when suddenly I find myself in the corral with four other student and the two teachers. Here I was, tiny little me, staring at our seven head of very large, fat cattle, who looked just as scared as I felt. We drove our four into the chute... with very little help from me... ^_^' and proceeded with our lab.

The second time I was caught in the lion's den, was during Wildlife Management. Again, I was just trying to absorb as much as possible while following the group. We were doing the Bear lab, and trying to anesthetist our year old cub. Keep in mind that this 'little' bear cub was at least 230 lbs and when it stood on its hind legs it was at least my hight, about 5'5". So we were in the cage and the Vet says that only one of us can be in there. So I turn to leave and find the door closing behind me with all of my Vet Tech comrades waiting outside of the cage.

So our cub finally goes down after about 30 min and A LOT of tranquilizer and the Vet and DOW guys start dragging him towards the tub, so that we can work on getting his tags in and implanting a microchip under his skin, and he wakes up! Of course he starts charging my way, and I ran out of the way and let him run back into his Faux Den. About 20 min later he's finally out cold and we got to go forward with our procedures.

This year I also saved the lives of six kittens and successfully drew blood out of the jugular on a goat... On the first try even!

Its a therapy for acne, hyper-pigmentation, and broken capillaries. Basically, Isolaz is a vacuum which draws all of the congestion, impurities, and bacteria to the surface of your skin, instead of in your pores, and sucks it away. The vacuum is then followed by a painless broadband light which kills all of the bacteria. Depending on how sensitive your skin is is what level of treatment you can receive, except in this case its better to have pale, sensitive skin because you can have stronger treatments. I started at level four, as it was my first time, but I can go up to 10.

During the procedure, which lasts maybe 15 min, you feel the vacuum latch onto your skin and then the lazer is just warm. There isn't any pain involved! There also isn't any down time and you can apply makeup or moisturizer right after its done! The only downside is that it smells because the lazer is singeing the hair on your face. For the first 24 hours after my treatment, my face broke out from all of the toxins being pulled to the surface, but then everything gradually started to heal. I'm going back this following Tuesday to get another treatment.
Even if we are a part of the LGBT community, we're still taboo. Still outcasts. I feel mocked by all of the stupid, insecure girls who try to be by just to get guys... Or get fed up with men and decide to pretend to be lesbian. People like that don't know what its like or how hard it is to truly be bi. Bisexuals don't fit in on either side, we're not gay and we're not straight. Lesbians think I'm weird for liking men. But I was born this way... I can't help that I'm attracted to men. Many lesbians won't date a bi girl. It hurts... that we are rejected, in part, because there are so many straight girls pretending to be bi... No one wants to get hurt, so many lesbians assume all bi girls are really just straight girls playing games. This is what I'm left to assume of course. I've had girls who I've really like reject me because they were lesbian and I was bi. It feels like someone rejecting you based on the color of your skin... or your nationality. Love should transcend all boundaries. Race, Nationality, Gender, Sex, Identity, Class, Religion, etc, etc.

This Eau de Parfume is sweet and a bit peachy in the beginning, but quickly mellows into jasmine.

According to the By Kilian site the notes are:
Mediterranean Notes: Italian Bergamot, Paraguayan Petitgrain, French Lavendin Orpur, and Galbanum.

Jasmine Notes: Indian Jasmine, Egyptian Jasmine Orpur, Jasmine Headspace, Solar Jasmine, and Winter Jasmine.

Floral Notes: Comorian Ylang-ylang Orpur, Daffodil, Orange Blossom, and Lily of the Valley.

Sensual Notes: Oakmoss, Cedar, and Styrax.

I smell the daffodil and Lily of the Valley, which I initially confused for iris. I smell the jasmines and the orange blossom. I'm getting a bit more of the Lavendin which smooths things out.

This fragrance is sweet, but mellow and a bit clean. It reminds me of White Camella, as far as being sweet and innocent. I like it, but its a bit chilling to me. The 50ml bottle costs 175 euro, which is about $220 US.

I give this fragrance a 7 out of 10.

Hate......

Recently I had a conversion on Youtube with a young Japanese man. His video was entitled, I Am an Anti-Korea Japanese. Basically his video was about the influence Korea has on Japanese entertainment and how he feels upset about how Japanese culture is changing because of it. I understood his underlying message of how proud he is of his country and how he wants to keep his culture from being changed. But the way he was going about it was wrong to me and to many others as well. I left a comment saying how I understood his pride of his country and his culture, but that I didn't understand why he had to place blame on others for it. I tried to explain how such an aggressive statement was counter productive.

He was very accepting of my opinion and gracious of how I understood, in fact, he even posted a new video on how he was no longer Anti-Korea.

I understand that it's very much human nature to fear change and to protest and blame other cultures for this, but by doing so you only make yourself appear to be a bigot or a racist. Its hurtful to stereotype and place blame on innocent people. For instance, when I was in intermediate school I was confronted in class by several students who began questioning me about my religion. They were going on and on and being very aggressive with their questioning and wouldn't let me speak, also it was during class and I was trying to get my work done. I stood up and yelled, "Shut the F*** up and leave me alone!" I grew up in a very Christian area and I was the only non-Christian around and felt a lot of hate from the community for it. So their unrelenting questioning felt like an attack, but I misinterpreted their intent.

Looking back, I feel a lot of regret for reacting in that way. I realize now that by reacting in that way I had proven everything negative that the Christians had said about me. Now that I've matured, I wish I could go back and change my reaction. Instead I would be excited at their curiosity and I would be able to teach them about paganism and teach them kindness and acceptance. I learned that you can never counter hate with hate, violence with violence, anger with anger. It solves nothing and makes the world more filled with hate.

So from this experience I wanted to teach this Young man. Japanese have a notoriety for being Bigots, but he had a chance to change that. Instead of saying he was Anti-Korea, he could of said that he didn't want to see his culture be changed. That he was proud of his country and his people and that when Koreans call Japanese bigots, how much it hurt him. But because he used the term Anti-Korea... well when a Korean sees or hears that statement from a Japanese person its incredibly hurtful for them, and then that Korean will have the notion that Japanese are bigots... Its a never ending cycle. I empathize with both sides because I know how they both feel, but how do I change this?!! How can I stop this cycle of suffering?!!!

It also made me think of Feminists. None of us would be here is men didn't exist. Yes men have hurt women, but women have hurt men too. How many times have any of us seen a man get kicked in the balls? How many times have we laughed at this person's pain?! Or a man getting slapped by his girlfriend? Both of these examples are forms of assault and if a man where to do these things he would be sent to jail, and yet society permits and media encourages these acts of hate and violence towards men. But if a man were to defend himself by hitting a woman it becomes a hate crime.

Rape is a horrendous crime, one of violence and power. But why do men feel so powerless? Many times it is their upbringing, but it can also be because women are hateful towards them?

If women are smarter than men, then why can't we see that not all men are the same? Why can't we treat men better so that all people are treated better? Treat everyone with respect and kindness, this is the only way to change the world. So many women say that all men are assholes and aren't worth dating. And there are many men who say the all women are stupid sluts who can't be trusted. Here's what I see... Suffering on BOTH sides. Women feel wronged by men, men feel wronged by women, but neither side can see that the other is hurting. Society tries to tell men that they are robots. They shouldn't feel pain or sorrow, they shouldn't cry... because its weak. This is taking power away from men, the power to feel human.... Its sad that we've made men feel afraid to cry, to show affection, to be sensitive. Shouldn't women know better?! We have suffered in the past, we have been pushed and hated simply for our gender, and here we are doing the exact same thing to men....

Stereotyping hurts people. Even though it's human nature. But sometimes we have to change our nature so that we can grow as people....
I had 7 pet chickens, all of which had been hand raised and hand fed their entire lives. Let's just say they were VERY friendly chickens. On the night of the 6th, someone came to my house in the middle of the night and killed them. No, not killed them... tortured them and ripped their heads off. So when we woke up we found our oldest chicken with her head completely detached and turned inside out. She was laid out on our porch right outside our door, her head just a few inches away. Ebony was the sweetest chicken and she had always seemed so wise to me. She had old eyes and it was as if we had known each other in another life. Next we found Rusty, my only Road Island Red, in the shed, her feathers were everywhere and I at least found peace that she had fought for her life before dying behind a bale of straw. We found Sunny, one of the twin White Leghorns, beneath the lilac tree. Blackie died a few hours later from shock. PeDee's body was never found. As for Whitey, the other Leghorn, and Angel, they survives their injuries, but had lost their minds in the process, either that or they had extensive brain damage, but they lived a few more years before dying of pneumonia.

So here's my question... How sick do you have to be to hurt something so helpless and innocent as a chicken. Seriously? How can someone hurt another person's pets... yeah okay maybe they didn't know that these were pets, but still they trespassed on privet property just to kill some little girl's chickens. I am well aware that my family isn't well liked, that I'm not very well liked, but don't take it out on animals. I don't care if it was about religion either... What those people did was wrong and I hope someday you get what you have given.

Review: Indonesian Bali Blue Moon Coffee

I recently got a coffee roaster as a gift. Which I love. So here is the first coffee review I will be doing.

Indonesian Balinese Krishna Blue Moon
Origin: Bali
Where can you find it: http://www.burmancoffee.com
Price per pound: $6.75

Here's what Burman said about this coffee:
"A very rich, clean, and smooth cup with a nice sweet orange chocolaty finish. Medium to full bodied with low acidity, a nice daily cup. Hints of a slight smoky tones can be found, especially in a darker roast. The orange citrus tone is what makes this cup exceptional, this is the only coffee we have had with that great flavor!"

I roasted this coffee to a medium dark roast, so about 25 min. A full dark roast is 30 min. This coffee is quite clean tasting, but also quite acidic. There are muted smoky tones, but the fruity-ness is stronger. I wouldn't add sugar to this brew as it's sweet already. The texture is smooth with a slight bite. I can't distinguish the orange tone, but I understand how is could be perceived as citrus. Overall, this coffee is bright with a smooth finish.
But I didn't so I'm pleased. I'm still on track to graduate at the end of the next school year. The upcoming semester will be soooooo much harder! I'll be taking 22 credits!!! The average full time student only takes 12..... So I'm scared, but I think everything will be fine. Just don't expect to hear from me until summer!

I hope everyone had a lovely holiday and I wish you all the best in the upcoming year. I started school and I'm now happily in the Vet Tech Program!!! I'm taking 17 credits this semester, so yeah... I've been busy! Midterms are coming up in a couple of weeks so it might be some time before you hear from me again! But that's not what this blog is about! This blog is about the lucky bag I recently bought at Sasa.com. I got the bag of Gorgeousness... hoping for makeup, but I'm very happy with what I was sent.

So here it is... "Unboxing"/ first impression of Sasa's Lucky Bag of Gorgeousness.

A lucky bag, for those who haven't heard the term, is a bag that you order and you have no idea what's in it. You basically get several products to try, generally sample sizes, and you do get to choose them, but its still kinda fun to see what your going to get. I bought this for 29$. So here's what I got...

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief:

"Light, comfortable cream/gel plumps skin with hydration for a full 24 hours. Fine lines, flakiness and tightness are washed away. In their place—a sense of supple, firm, vibrant well-being, even through shifts in humidity. One ‘drink’ and skin looks and feels happier, healthier. Oil-free." ~ Quoted from Clinique.com.

I have the 15ml jar, which is the second smallest jar Sasa offers... which I'm glad, because its large enough to try without being stuck with extra if I dislike it. This jar is 9 dollars at Sasa and 25$ at the original price. Clinique doesn't offer a container this small on their website.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel:
This is the yellow bottle in the picture. I received the 30ml tube, which isn't listed on either the Clinique or the Sasa site. So I can't give you an price for it. However... a 50ml tube of this product was 20$ on Sasa and 13$ on the Clinique site... so thats weird that Clinique is cheaper, but it proves a point about shopping around!

"The oil-free moisture “drink” developed by Clinique’s dermatologists to maintain optimal moisture balance for skins comfortable in the cheeks but oily in the T-zone or oily all over. Oil-free formula softens, smooths, improves. 1.7 fl. oz."~ Quoted from Clinique.

Clinique Rinse-off Foaming Cleanser:
This is the pink/lilac tube in the picture. I got the 30ml tube, which, again, isn't listed on either site. A 50ml tube at Sasa costs $7.10 and the only size Clinique offers is $19.50, but it doesn't say how much the tube contains.

"Foamy cream-mousse cleanser removes long-wearing makeup and sunscreens quickly, gently, efficiently. Comforts with soothing botanicals. Leaves skin feeling moist, clean, fresh. A great value, too: concentrated formula is long-lasting. Ophthalmologist Tested." ~ Quoted from Clinique.

Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream Rinse-off Formula:
This is the green tube in the picture. This is $5.80 at Sasa and $18.50 for an untold amount at Clinique.

"Nudges away roughness, flakiness to refine skin. Helps lessen the appearance of fine lines. Clears the way for moisture. Suitable for all skin types. " ~ Quoted from Clinique.

Clinique Moisture Surge Extra Refreshing Eye Gel:
This is the small pink tube in the picture. This is 7ml and while neither Sasa or Clinique offer a container this small on the website, but a 15ml container is $26.10 on Sasa, and Clinique doesn't seem to carry this product anymore, at least, not on their site.

Clinique Vitamin C Lip Smoothie:

This is the color Mango-thon, its a very red mango, but looks really natural on the lips and is a really pretty color. Currently, this is the only color Sasa offers, but I'm sure they'll get more soon. This is $4.50 at Sasa, but $17.50 at Clinique. Clinique describes this color as "a soft burnt orange with golden shimmer" and I have to agree. I dislike the screw-bottom, brush tip type of containers for lipgloss/liquid lipstick, but I must say that this one works pretty well. Though I did have to twist it about twenty times before it would produce any product! x.x... But the product itself is really good. I love the color, the consistency is pleasant; not very sticky and pretty smooth, it leaves lips soft looking and feeling, the glitter is very small and I can't feel it on my lips, and I think that for $4.50 this is definitely worth buying!

So I haven't tried all of these products, just the lip color, but I'll post singular reviews on these products later.

Beauty Spells, and my thoughts on them...

I've been thinking a lot about beauty spells recently; to the point of looking them up actually. And I've found some really interesting sites and spells, but the whole thing kinda creeps me out... Most of the time these spells are calling out to a Goddess and asking for a physical change. Yeah, there are the one's I'm okay with; for instance, spells for clear skin, longer hair, etc. But then there are the ones that are asking for weight loss, or for changing your eye color, or for making your chest bigger... and this is what worries me. I can understand why women would seek out such a change, believe me I do, and I think that a spell to change a persons eye color is interesting, but I wouldn't do it unless I knew it would wear off... maybe not even then.

It feels to me like calling out to a Goddess for a permanent change of being is like magickal plastic surgery... And do we really want to go there?! I think that the Goddess/es would be very disappointed in that, and perhaps offended. I know there are things about my body that I want to change, but I want to do it the right way... otherwise I'm not changing my habits. I want abs, so I'm working to get them instead of going and getting lipo or even using a spell. If I can't start good exercise habits, then why should I rely on magick to get results, which will most likely wear off because I'm not maintaining it. Its not like I don't want to experiment with these spells, but I just wouldn't feel right if I did.

Sleepy in Japanese...

Is Nemui not Ennui.... For instance, when I first came to America, the summers were soooooooo hot to me. In Ireland the summer temp is usually around 25 to 28 Celsius, so about 79 to maybe 83. Here in Colorado, the summer temp can easily be around 104, to highs reaching 110!!! Now that I've lived here 15 years it doesn't seem as hot, but I remember times when I really thought I was going to die of heat stroke.

So now that I'm looking into go to Japan, everywhere I here that Japan's summers are super hot. I looked into it. Here is what I found, "Summers will range from 20 to 28 Celsius (that's 68 to 84 Fahrenheit). In the south, the range will swing from 21 to 29 Celsius (69 to 84 Fahrenheit)" Honestly, I don't consider that hot, but I do suppose you have to factor in humidity. But I really think that Japan's climate, while warmer than Ireland's, will be perfect for me. The summers are cooler than they are in Colorado, and the winters are much warmer.

But I definitely suggest that anyone who intends to move to a different country check out the climate and weather first. You should know if you have a tendency to get heat sick, or elevation sick, or if you just don't like the heat or cold. You should know and prepare for these situations before you go.

She Walks in Beauty by Lord Byron

She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellow'd to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

One shade more, one ray less,
Had half impair'd the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o'er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
How pure, how dear their dwelling place.

And on that cheek, and o'er that brow
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,

You'll find different definitions everywhere. This is a question I often get asked on Youtube. What is a Spiritual Consultant? What do they do?

Okay so I, my friend Juan, and an older woman he introduced me too, started a business together. A Botanica. Typically, Botanicas are Santeria Shops, but we each brought our own expertise. Juan is a Wiccan. M and I are witches. I'm a Celt, she's a Santeria practitioner. The Botanica closed due to some unexpected differences in ethics.

But Spiritual Consultant is what I termed us, because we are life coaches in a sense. We assist people with their problems and try to help them within reason. THIS doesn't me we're miracle workers, we're not... but some people would expect that and its not how magick works. Magick can't do everything for you, prayers can't save a life, but it opens a door. You have to do the rest. I can gather energy for you to use, cleanse your aura, rid you of negative energy, but I can't bring the dead back to life... I wouldn't if I could... I can't save you from prison if you've wronged someone and need to pay for your crimes. I WILL NOT conjure a girlfriend for you or make a woman fall in love with you, and I will not do anything that goes against my ethics... Forcing your will on someone, no matter the form, is RAPE. period. I will not negotiate against my ethics... As a costumer, I would never ask such a thing from you, so please don't ask me to.

Sorry, I had to rant about that, at least one more time.

On to the definition... A Spiritual consultant is a life coach. I extend this to spirituality, but it usually extends farther. Up to religion. A priest is a Spiritual Consultant, they work with prayer and confession. Witches work a little differently, even though prayers are a form of spells and you have to first be open about yourself before we can help. If you feel blocked, then we can cleanse your aura. If you need help with the law being lenient on you, we can work a spell. I'm not sure what kind of tea I'll use... Probably some black tea I have hidden in my cupboards. I WILL NOT be boiling this before or after. I'm not afraid, I've consumed sun tea since I was a little girl... and I've also consumed Kombucha, which has WAAAAY more bacteria than sun tea. BTW... Sun tea is pasteurized.... Survival specialists have used the power of the sun to pasteurize water for years. Pasteurization taking a substance and using low heat to kill the bacteria. Low heat and a long time. Also, if you stick this in the refrigerator afterwards, that slows the growth of bacteria to a stand still. I know that for a fact from petri dishes...

Not all bacteria are bad!!! The human body is NOT sterile. Adding natural bacteria found in most drinking water is adding competition for really bad bacteria like E.Coli 0104: H4... I'm not referring to the E.coli that's found in the human colon... I'm referring to the deadly kind of E.coli. The kind you study in Microbiology.

I'll be adding the sugar after its finished brewing and then sticking it into the fridge. I'll post pictures tomorrow.

TAKE HOME MESSAGE.... Don't be afraid of sun tea or kombucha... both are very healthy in small amounts. The only time something bad happens is when there is an overgrowth or you consume too much. For instance, Gardia can be found in almost everyone's fecal matter in this Valley... why is no one sick? Because there isn't an overgrowth. People have enough competitive bacteria in their systems to fight it off. Kombucha can make people sick, but mostly its because of them consuming a 16 oz. bottle a day for a month... That's like drinking Apple Cider vinegar every day for a month. This can cause Metabolic Acidosis(http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/25/fashion/25Tea.html), and can be contaminated with a type of toxic fungus. Which is why I wouldn't recommend making your own or buying it from someone one off the street. But drinking bottled kombucha can supplement probiotics and can really whiten your teeth! Just don't drink it every day.

Beyond the Rack

http://www.beyondtherack.com/member/invite/B57CB573

On being Bi... Part 2

I always wonder about people... The ones that say being gay is a choice... I wish I had a choice... But I'd probably choose to be a Lesbian, but I was born this way. I can't help that I'm attracted to men...HAHAHA!!!

Anyway, being Bi is sooooo much different than being gay or straight. I like both. But I get excluded a lot more for that fact.... The Lesbian community says, "You like men???!!! That's sooo weird!" (I'm generalizing, but still.)

Straight women say, "EWWWWW! You like women! Don't hit on me!!!" (Again, generalizing... with a bit of dramatization.)

Straight men say, "Oh my god that's sooooo hot. Does this mean we can have a threesome? Can I watch... ect" OR "What?!!! Why?!!!" (Now I'm not dramatizing!)

Gay men say, "Ohhhhhh... cool." and then act afraid of me...

NOT all, but this is a taste of what I've gotten.

Lesbian's typically DO NOT like being with a Bi chick. Why? Because its hard for a bi woman to feel satisfied by just a woman or just a man. This is where the stereotype of bi's loving or wanting to have a threesome comes from. I will say that I am polyamorous, but I don't think that I'd like to have group sex. I'm not against the idea, but I'm not for it either. I've had two lesbian girlfriends. One dom, one sub. My dom girlfriend was too dom for me, as I generally tend to be dom but not butch.

As I like to say, I'm too Dom to be Lipstick, and too Lipstick to be Butch. This is what lead me to the realization that I'm a Dominatrix. I'm an utter sadistic pugilist...

Anyway... Its hard to be bi, we're always standing on a fine line... not being entirely gay, not being entirely straight. We don't exactly fit in with the Gay community, and we don't exactly fit in with the straight community. So its even harder to find our place.

I had a friend who's mother believed in Gays, but didn't believe in Bi's. And that really saddened me... That a Catholic woman could accept gays... but not accept Bisexual as an actual sexual orientation....

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://ladydeath777.blogspot.com/2011/06/on-being-bi-part-2.html' title='On being Bi... If you've read my earlier blogs, you'll know that I'm Bi, but I'm not out to my parents. My mother is a bit homophobic. My first time was with my long time girlfriend, I mean we were off and on because of distance, but we had been together for about two years.

I trust her completely.

Trust is a huge issue in sex and relationships. We were together and passionately in love and just went for it. We got a hotel room. Took a bath together. We laid on the bed and started kissing and touching and exploring...

I achieved orgasm twice. After that, nothing really changed between us; she went home and I stayed in Colorado. When we're together we're together and when we're apart we're not.

Sasa Haul 5/13/11

I received my package Thursday; it shipped within a week and a half of ordering.

I reordered the Mentholatum Hand Veil Whitening Cream, which if you've been reading, you'll know I love!!!

I ordered the C+M Anti Wrinkle Whitening Cream. Recently I've been noticing smile lines forming under my eyes, probably because I don't drink enough water and I stay up all night. I also have freckles right under my eyes, since you can't really put sunscreen under your eyes. This is my reason for ordering so many whitening and hydrating products. I have used this under my eye and it works perfectly fine.

This was $2.80 for 10 ml.

Next I bought SkinFood Agave Cactus Sun BB Cream. This product has an SPF rating of 36 and a PA rating of +++, which means it offers strong protection from UVA rays. I got this in color #1, which is a bit yellow.

But the cap is really pretty! I got this for $18.70.

C+M Over Night White Moisture Emulsion is next, which is 65ml and was an amazing $2.50!!! THAT'S AMAZING!!!

Next, which shocked me, is the Arbutin Whitening Serum from Genie in a Bottle. This was 30 ml at $8.40, and Sasa says its a four piece. Here's what I thought it would be... Four tiny bottles of serum, all adding up to 30ml. Here's what I received....

Together they equal 120ml of product.... Of Whitening SERUM!!! Can you believe it? I can't.... Or at least I couldn't when I opened the package!!! At $8.40 that's a phenomenal price. And the bottles are super pretty, I just wish they came with instructions on how to open them. And a lot of the ingredients are super yummy! I can't wait to try these!!

Ketsueki-gata

Otherwise known as prediction of character through blood types. Like the Astrological signs in the West AND like the Chinese Zodiac.

From what I've seen in America, people really don't pay much attention to their blood type, which I think is unfortunate because if you ever need a blood transfusion it takes time to test you for your blood type. In an emergency seconds can be really important.

I know I'm an O-... I know sucks right?!! But here are the blood types for humans(lets not worry about the + and - for right now); O, A, B, and AB.

  Chart from Google.
Okay, as you can see, the blood types are caused by the absence or presence of antigens on the surface of the red blood cell. You can only have one blood type present in your blood stream, if you are given the wrong blood type your body will reject it and that can potentially make you sick. This is why knowing your blood type and having a record of it in your medical records is essential.

Blood types are inherited from the parents, but a mother can often carry a child that has a different blood type.

The + and - signifies the RH system. The Rh system tells people that you either carry or do not carry an antigen, most commonly the D antigen. So RH+ means your blood DOES contain the D antigen and if your RH- it means you DON'T carry the D antigen. + types can receive both + and - blood types and - can only receive negative types.

O+ blood type's can only receive O+ and O- blood. O-'s can only receive O- blood(hence why is sucks to be an O-). A+'s can receive A+, A-, O+, and O- blood. A-'s can receive O- and A- blood. B+'s can receive B+, B-, O+, and O- blood. B-'s may receive O- and B- blood. AB+ can receive any blood type... so if your AB+ your super lucky! AB-'s can receive AB-, A-, B-, and O- blood. So because I'm an O- I'm a universal donor, but I can only receive type O- blood.

I will now note that Japan, as far as I know, doesn't recognize the RH factor in Ketsueki-gata.

But on to the topic at hand: Ketsueki-gata...Like in Western Psychology, there are various personality types in Japan. There are differing variations on this such as Myers-Briggs personality types, in which there are 16 personality types. In the West, There are types A, B, C, and functional A personalities. A is aggressive, and they have a predisposition to get heart disease. B people are laid back and tend to be calm, most people tend to be considered B's. C's are introverted and have a predisposition to cancer. Functional A's can work through their aggression. (A/B Meyer Freidman and Ray Rosenman) (C Temoshok and Dreher) (Functional A (Hardy Personality) Suzanne Kobasa)

In Ketsueki-gata:

Type A: Positive traits: Creative, reasonable, responsible, reserved, patient, helpful.
Negative traits: tense, easily stressed, stubborn, meticulous, demanding.

Type B: Positive traits: Wild, adventurous, active, creative, passionate, strong, daring.
Negative traits: Irresponsible, unpredictable, careless, reckless, undependable, immature.

Type AB: Positive traits: Controlled, rational, social, 'split personality', spontaneous, collected.
Negative traits: Critical, 'split personality', indecisive, forgetful, hesitant, belittling.
I love it for its complexity.

According to fragrancenet.com, this fragrance includes: honeysuckle, jasmine, vanilla, orange blossom, rose, and sandalwood, and was first produced in 1927! I can definitely smell the honeysuckle, which is why I bought this perfume! I really glad about that because it's a true honeysuckle, not a chemical fake. I smell the sandalwood, the jasmine, a bit of the rose, and the vanilla... all scents I love. In fact as this dries down, I'm also getting the orange blossom! I love when all of the notes can be accounted for while harmonizing so well together. I also get an amber note... which easily smooths everything out.

This is definitely a old fashioned perfume, but I really like that! No cotton candy or pink sugar! Its elegant, but more wearable during the day than the night. Its a beautiful scent and I really enjoy the complexity. 10 out of 10!
