Chick-fil-A is offering a free spicy chicken sandwich to anyone who says they can take the heat.

On March 12, 19 and 26, customers need only to utter the phrase to get the sandwich. Since January, Chick-fil-A has been using its 15 Jacksonville restaurants as well as locations in Baltimore to evaluate the spicy chicken sandwich that the chain is considering adding to its menu nationally.

"We are extremely pleased with the results of our Spicy Chicken Sandwich test thus far, but there are plenty of other potential customers who have not tasted our new sandwich," said Woody Faulk, vice president of brand development. "The goal of the 'I can take the heat' giveaway is to put the new spicy chicken sandwich in the mouths of as many people as possible so that we can receive feedback that will help determine whether or not this product is right for the Chick-fil-A menu."

The spicy chicken sandwich is hand-breaded and seasoned with a blend of peppers, pressure-cooked in peanut oil and served on a toasted buttered bun. The sandwich will be priced at $2.89, and is also offered as a combo meal.

Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A Inc. has more than 1,365 restaurants in 37 states and Washington D.C.

Some of my favorites:

Learn to cook. ( I know... easier said than done)

Wow, so much for willpower or frugality in any sense. I ate out Friday, Saturday and Sunday this weekend. I had a blast, but went against every principle of savings, expense management or personal finance. I guess the only good news is I didn't charge it all!

I'm really disappointed with the lack of self control, but I was able to find some positives in my spend-a-thon.

I didn't order any alcoholic drinks with my dinners. Stuck with water and diet cokes.
I ordered a burger that wasn't terrible relative to the rest of the menu and my wife ordered the 'lunch-size' portion of her meal.
I took advantage of special pricing because it was restaurant week in Baltimore.

Guess it could have been worse.

The "Economic Stimulus Package" is getting an awful lot of coverage lately and I guess I can see why. To get a check in the mail for hundreds of dollars without lifting a finger sounds great to me.

But wait a minute? Where is that money coming from? You and ME. Its our money people! Money that our government obviously doesn't know how to manage.

Is this going to stimulate the economy? Doubtful. Did it last time? No.

As I would request of anyone providing such inadequate products or services, "Give me my money back."

How about this for a way to earn some extra income? Get your kid to do well in school.

Apparently Baltimore's school system is doing so poorly raising test scores that they have lowered themselves to bribing students. They have proposed a program that would pay students up to $110 in exchange for higher scores on graduation exams.

So the FED cut rates yesterday in an emergency response to the tanking stock market. This is good for my wife's business as a mortgage broker, but a lot of people panicked. Even my wife got a little scare thinking about her 401k balances. The good news is we are young and it will be 40 years before we start making withdraws on those accounts (hopefully).

You know where I'd like to see rates cut? How about my electric bill thats going up 86% this year? Or maybe reducing Maryland's record tax hikes... Wishful thinking I know.

I had to talk myself out of this one... My mother in law asked me to help her shop for vacation deals this spring. No big deal. I'm pretty good at finding travel bargains. The only problem is, as an Expedia affiliate, I would earn a commission on any trips booked through my site. The devil on my shoulder told me to push Expedia no matter what, but the angel won and I'm going to find her the best deal on the trip...

...But I'm still hoping that Expedia comes in lowest.

Ok, so I installed a programmable thermostat to help save a few dollars on our monthly electric bill. Great, right? The only problem is that today is MLK day and I'm home on a Monday when I normally would be at work, and its 61 degrees in here. I cant believe how cold 61 degrees is. My dog stays home in this every day and loves it!

Does anybody know if I can actually make a few bucks recycling my aluminum cans? I know It's not going to make me rich, but is it even worth the 5 minute drive to the recycling center? That in addition to cleaning and storing the cans, I'm not sure if its even worth the effort.
