Not sure where to begin. It's almost November and the weather is very mild here in South Central Alaska (Anchorage). However, I did manage to pick up a rather substantial cold last weekend while fishing for the last of the Silver salmon on the Kenai River. Took a break from working on my log cabin and ran to the water's edge after my brother in law caught a huge chromer (at least 12 lbs). No coat and sweating in the snow...not a good idea. Got a couple of hits but no hook ups in a 1/2 hr effort. Season ends Oct 31st after being extended for an extra month because of a large run. We've had a great fishing season on the Kenai with our freezer full of sockeyes, kings, and silvers. As we got a 66 inch bull moose at our Bristol Bay area camp, I don't think we'll starve this Winter. More later.<br />
