I just realized that I havn't updated for MONTH! I can't believe it! Totally forgot about this blog = =|||| but I am getting back to this, I mean I love blogging but I just happened to not have time to do so. So here I am updating my latest modeling work, which is my final ( YAY three and a half month since I started 3D, I'm finally be able to put something like this together! Crappy but Proud!! ). Creation of my final project is SO MUCH FUN, I enjoyed it A LOT! In love with every step of the creation of this peice, including concept designing, modeling, texturing, lighting~! I guess I'm ready to become a modeler now!! LOL. Anywayz, enjoy my screenshots! Please critique and comment on it if you wish~!

LOL, this lighting and rendering is RUSHED. I could have spent way more time on the lighting and depositing if I have time, but then I have to hand in something by today. So this is the rendered version that I handed in, but I'm gonna fidget with it more, and re render it sometime when I have more time! I WILL!

HM~~~ I finally got some time editing this a little bit more, but someone told me not to go back to old work or else I'll never improve, so.... I might just leave it like this for now then... It's almost been 3 month at Think Tank already! Time passed by so fast that my first class at TT seems like yesterday! Alright people! Get ready for my first Mudbox project~~!!!

We were asked to choose one of the Pokemon, and do a more realistic model of them using XSI and Mudbox~ So we made our base mesh in XSI first and then imported them into Mudbox and built the rest of the detail. I really had fun playing with Mudbox, it's interesting trying to sculpt in 3D world ( although it's not like I sculpt in real life but it's still fun).

Alright... here we go... my amazing Pokemon: Cubone! Okay... maybe its not that great - -|||| I tried.... It takes time to get use to the program's hot key and stuff, but I'm sure more practice will make me do a lot better! All comments and critiques are welcomed!

Hi people, haven't update for a long time! For our next project, we were asked to make a model of a car of our choice >////< However I'm not the type of girl that is interested in cars = =|||| so I asked my boyfriend what to make, and this is what he suggested me! Mercedes-Benz SLR ... It is a hard car to make, even my modeling teacher Joe asked me if I'm certain on this decision, but I am pretty determined to make this model.

I understand it's probably too hard for me, because I am such a beginner in 3D software, but for some reason I wanted to give it a try. I guess... I'm just not the type of person that would choose something easy and just try to get through the project. I wanted something challenging for myself so I can improve from doing it... I mean.. isn't that the whole point of all these projects and practices?

I do want to improve, and I am not the girl that is satisfied with an "above-average", I have my ambition, and I'm ready to work hard for it.

So... the project was.. quite successful, not that its perfect or anywhere close to those top student in the class are making, but I really worked hard on it. Every mistake I made, every critique I listened I learnt something new. From this I improved a lot, but yet I have much more to learn, I'm really excited of what I am going to learn next! さあ~! ここへ来い! 私は負けないぞ!

Hi people! I can't believe that I am updating my blog again = =|||| Anyhow, I just want people to know that I have a new Linked IN account, which you can find it HERE. So please add me if you want to ^^ I am looking forward to meet more people on there.

Also today I wanted to update on some of my recent sketches ( though I think they are not quite sketch anymore, finished piece maybe?) One is a pencil drawing of a mermaid, inspired by the pink mermaid pencil my friend and I bought for a guy in my class for his birthday ( Not that he likes pink mermaid pencils, but it was all for the fun of it ). The other one is a pen drawing of some kind of military android, this picture of the robot just one day popped inside my brain, and I just happened to capture it and continued till it's finished. Enjoy!

Also remember I said that I'm going to continue fidgeting with the environment textureing part? Yeah... I sorta made a new one, I think this one is much better, I like how the yellow light gives the environment a bit warmth, and look more natural... Who knows, I might make a better one later as I get better at textureing.

Hello people~ Alright... I've noticed these days that I haven't update my blog for a VERY long time lol! But that was because I am too busy with my schooling, so its reasonable right? Anyhow, I've been to Think Tank for a month already~ I just want to keep this blog up to date, and let people know how I'm doing. So I'm going to upload quite a few things here today.

However before that, I just want to mark a little complaint about the little class drama happening right now. "Lord Gavin" is really getting on my nerves, SERIOUSLY. He just has SO MUCH ego.... Every class there's someone that's better than him, and I don't know where did he get the fact that he is the best in class?? DOESN'T MAKE SENSE TO ME, in fact most of us are confused and pissed off by him = =|||| But sometimes I really feel sad for him, because he is not going to make it, he is NOT, and we all know it. It's a fact.

Photoshop Lighting Exercise for DIM 100 :

A simple photoshop lighting exercise, I think I over lit it, but oh well, I really liked it! ^^

Car tire and outline modeling for Modeling 100 :

Unfinished and still in process project in modeling class, this car will be due in 2 weeks, by then hopefully I'll have it finished with the finest detail I can possible model within my skill range, and fully textured.

Environment Texture for XSI 100:

This was a modeling exercise that we did in modeling class on the second week, I didn't really do a good job because my environment is really simple. Then our XSI exercise was to texture our environment, so I did. I liked it a lot better after I textured it, so I might keep on fidgeting with it to make it look nicer. I just MIGHT.

Simple Flour sac animation for Classical Animation 100 :

Before we did the flour sac we also did the bouncy ball and the pigtail bouncy ball animation exercise, but those stuff are really simple and I will not be putting those on >///< But the flour sac is really cute, I really liked him ~~

Hi everyone~! So my life is sorta on track, I am going to my new Think Tank school and it's been great! I REALLY enjoy studying there, people and classmates are SUPER nice, and the environment is just unbelievably comfortable too! My little life with dual monitor and intuos 4 has been WONDERFUL.
Common, a school with dual monitor, intuos 4, blue-ray theater, cool people, awesome course, who wouldn't like it?

The classes are pretty tight though, it's not anything unexpected and I kinda liked the intensiveness. So the very first class of Modeling 100 we are already modeling elephants >///< Which was cool BTW, I think I kinda liked 3D modeling and it's what I'm planning to go into anyways....

I guess the spotlight for the week was the life drawing class ( I know... I'm an art freak...). We had professional models that came in and we did a little study on anatomy, which was really cool because that's what I always wanted to learn. And the model... Man, she is amazing! She is absolutely beautiful, and professional of course. Really nice girl, loved her, loved drawing her and everything.

Overall, I am glad that I made the right choice and came to this school. I did not regret rejecting Emily Carr and AI, as they are not what I wanted. I believe I am going to learn a lot and have a lot of fun here at Think Tank. I will work hard!!!! I WILL!!!!

So, uh this is what I've been working on in my first modeling class. We were asked to do 3 elephants, and this is the latest one I've done, it's way better than the first few, so I am getting better at this. This one is more of a mammoth than an elephant, took about 3-4 hours, and I had fun making it~!

Hi everyone! I just recently got back to Vancouver, I've been at China for almost 3 month~~ It was a lot of fun~~~ So this time I want to share something with everyone, that is: my photographs!!! They are not just normal photos, those are me dressing up in ancient Chinese style clothing~~ LOL

I have to say I LOVE these photos so much ( OK, its like prettiest time in my life UGH~~). The reason I took these photos is.... first for the sake of my vanity ( yeah, that's about 90% of the reason...) , next is for reference~~ ^^ These pictures are pretty inspirational if you are trying to draw something Asian and ancient eh? So~ yeah....

Hey everyone, guess what? I'm going back to China in two days! I wish myself a good and safe trip, and I think it's going to be really fun ^^ I look forward to it!!!

Anyhow, today's painting is a painting that I did quite a while ago too. Back before graduation and everything, it is for a friend of mine. It's for him because he said he wants one for a long time, and he might be going to University of Toronto ( but I guess he isn't now...). I really worked hard on this piece, there were a lot of detail stuff to paint. But all the hard work paid off! I'm glad to know that he likes it a lot~!

Hi guys~ I think I might just be too bored these days or I have a drawing spree that I just can't stop drawing >////< . So I ended up doing this fox demon guy ( which originally suppose to be a dog demon, but whatever...), and I had a LOT of fun drawing him. The whole piece took about 5 days of hardwork >////<

From this work, I realized something, that is: I LOVE DRAWING GUYS!!! I really do ~ I found it more interesting than drawing girls ( maybe thats because I am a girl = =|||| ). SO from now on I shall start to draw more male fugures~!

Ok, so like for me... I always do the head first, never like the other plan out the whole body = =|||| Man, I should try that sometimes.

After the head is half done, I will start planing the body and the gesture....

Haha~ ok this is not a new painting... I did this quite a while ago before I graduated completly from highschool. This is a painting that I gave for my art teacher as a good-bye gift. I hope she likes it ( I think she does ). Anyhow... I really like how this turned out, I found this photo of this horse when I googled "horse" and I just felt the strong need of painting it. I REALLY like this piece, I do.

Muahahaha~~~ I've been pretty bored these days because of summer vacation... But I'm going back to China on July 20th and will not be back until October~~ So between now and then I decided I will draw something new! SO~~~ Here comes the new piece “Ash”.

It is the first time ever I tried to original a male character. The out come is okay, not too bad but not so good either, however, I did try my best >////< Anyhow... I was inspired by a Chinese artist called Heise, so I came up with this guy... I hope you all enjoy it!

So, I started off with the eyes, then formed the head from there...

Yay, I really like how I did his belt, looks cool.

Then I was thinking how to make him look sexier... After a while I realized that all I wanted to do is rip his cloth apart, so that's what I did....

Then I placed him in flames with tattoos on his arms.

Adding some accessories on him to make him look cooler.

Rap him up with chains from the scabbard, and done~!

Hey guys~! Guess where I'm going for post secondary? THINK TANK!!!! YES!!! Although for a lot of people who know me, this is not a secret anymore, but still I just wanna share the joy ^^

Think Tank is a 3D animation, modeling and visual effect school. It is a training centre therefore not a university or collage, but it does offers a diploma after graduation. The program is one year only, and graduates has 98% employment rate, pretty cool huh? BUT the cooler part is that they only take 8 students!!! Small class, more productive and professional students ^^

Yep I'm so looking forward to it!

Here's some photos I took inside the school, its undergoing construction but most of them are done. REALLY COOL place, looks like dungeon!!! The interior design is totally game and movie based, which made this school very cool and unique!!!

Hey people who actually visit here~ How's it going? I am happy to announce that the mural that I was working on is finally done! It looks great! It is the first time I ever done anything like a mural or graffiti on the wall, and it was a lot of fun, I really enjoyed it ^^. I have to thank all the people who helped in making of this mural : thank you very much! Without everyone‘s help it won't be able to finish on time!!!

Hi guys! Guess what I've been working on lately? A MURAL for our school wrestling room! My friend Meagan, Joseph and I are responsible for doing this mural, so we got to work on it for the past few weeks ^^ This is a voluntary work, nobody paid us to do it, but we just thought that we might wanna leave something memorable in the school before we move on to post secondary.

So this was the plan I made in photoshop (I did not design the man, it was our school wrestling logo):

Then we got to work on it! Because I was the main responsible person in this project, so I did spent more time than Joseph and Meagan. I drew the man and the R by myself using a white board pen ( yes. a white board pen because thats all we get = =||| )

woot! the finished version of the man, wasn't that bad eh? It was hard to see the porportions because it is so big, but I did a good job on it.

Then Joseph gets to do the lettering of "Burnaby South Wrestling", and Meagan gets to do the list of names that we needed to write on the wall ( annual best athelets?). Here I was just helping Meagan to do some of the names....

Joseph was busy doing the SOUTH part, and meagan was erasing some of the stuff off from the wall.

The mural is not done yet, but we are very close to finish it. We are at the phase of painting it over with interior paints so it can stay on the wall ( you wouldn't even believe how long I begged the PE teachers to get us a can of paint, god they are so cheap = =|||| I ended up finding my animation teacher to get us paint.) I think it will be done next week, and I will post more pictures on by then!

Why are people so racist?

I really don't understand why people are so racist to other nationality, I am a Chinese so what?

Recently I just noticed how racist this kid in my class is, he is completely discriminatory to Chinese people. I really don't understand why, aren't we all human? What is wrong with being a Chinese? He just has to make it sound like it's a sin to be a Chinese, I mean.... Common, really? Do we have to be this extreme?

Like I cant stress how extreme this kid is, he literally said to me that he will never goes to China, and if he is forced to be placed in downtown China he would beat random people's crap out of them.

Seriously? What did Chinese people do to you anyways? Certainly the Chinese government isn't most people's favorite way of governing a country, certainly there are some very rude people in China but they don't represent all the Chinese citizens. Keep in mind that there are over millions of people in China, can EVERYONE be just as nice and just as intelligent? Is there no white people that are rude and mannerless?

In the end we are all the same, we are all human dispite what color we are. People need to understand that as long as we are human, there are good people and also bad people. Just because China has more population so we have more bad people compare to other countries, doesn't make us all stupid and rude.

This kid in my class should really learn some manner, and make himself a bit smarter. With his horrible manner and discrimmintory thoughts, what made him had the right to say anything about other people?

LoL, just a few days ago I had my graduation ceremony, it was cool. Although I still need to go to school for until mid June, but I am happy enough by the fact that I'm graduated. Graduation can be really fun or dragging for some people, for me its accually quite dragging, but it's worth it. Especially the dinner dance, it was pretty tiring and stuff ( and somehow I looked horrible there = =|||| k, it doesnt make any sense.), but people who learnt how to enjoy it will enjoy it~! So over all it went pretty smooth for me, nothing horrible happened and such^^

He he~ A small video slide show of my artworks that I made for the grad awards night. It's rather simple slide show with a music, I'm glad that people who were at the awards night enjoyed it ( I know because I've been told ; I'm not like making this up or anything~ ). I was quite proud of it, because I was one of the only student that gets to display something on the big screen ! So I guess the awards night wasn't a total lost.

The video is a collection of my artworks from the past five years, mainly the pencil crayons, and pencil portraits are some of the older ones. Well, I guess most of the people can tell the difference easily, because personally I think I improved quite a lot, so yeah....

Just today I found out that I am a loser in life.
I submit something for bookmark contest, I lost.
I submit something for book cover contest, I lost.
I submit a scholarship, I lost again.
When everyone said I am good,
I laughed,
if so, why do I keep losing?
Maybe the school board hates me,
or maybe I wasn't as good as I thought I am.
For whatever reason it may be,
I keep losing.
But losing doesn't make me miserable,
I still believe in the soul within.
If we can learn through mistakes,
then I can learn through pain.
Because I keep losing,
I learnt to pick me up.

Drawing Doll's eyes

Hi guys, how's it going? Well my allergy is still bad but I'm slowly getting use to it. Today I finally finished making my first tutorial on doll's eye (YAY clap clap* ). I choose to do a doll eye because that is the painting that I am working on now. I will post the finished work up as soon as I finish it ~

The Finish look of the eyes....

Again I am posting this tutorial not to show off, I know this isn't the perfect way of drawing a realistic doll eye, but at least it's what I figured out myself. Of course there are going to be millions of tutorials on drawing eyes, but this is the closest a high-school student gets ^^ I hope it will help someone out there!

OK ~ Let's begin~

First of all, select a neutral skin color as your background color ( believe me it will makes your life a million times easier if you do this = =|||) . Then sketch out the outline of the eye using some darker color. Because we are doing a doll eye, the iris is way larger compare to the normal human eye so the doll can look really cute~

The you can fill in the pupil, iris color of your eye and the white of the eye. Note that the white part of the eye is NOT actually white, it's a bluish grey. Once again, because we are doing a doll's eye, the pupil may be way larger than the normal human being just to create cuteness.

Now shade in the eye <3 The upper lid will cast a shadow on the eyeball, so please shade in all the places including the white and the iris. Also at the boarder of the iris and the white, I used a purplish grey to blend and smooth it out. In addition, I used the burn tool to smooth out the boarder of the pupil.

Use a darker tone of the iris color ( preferably closer to black ) to draw radiant lines in the iris. Brush set on 3 pt.

Then use a variety of related iris color to draw thin lines in the iris, make sure to pick a few concentrated colors to make the eyes stand out (for example instead of a light blue, use a bright turquoise). Neon colors are good to use for the highlights of the iris.

Now comes to the hard part: painting the lids of the eye. Most people didn't realize that there are actually a space between the where the eyelashes grow and where your lid touches the eyeball. To make sure the eye look as realistic as possible, we need to paint that space using a lighter skin tone color. The upper eyelid can be shaded using a reddish dark brown.

The eyelashes can be drawn with a 3 pt and 1 pt hard edge round brush with the opacity of 60%. As most girls would notice when they are putting on mascara, eyelashes doesn't all go in the same direction they tend to group themselves. Make sure to paint them grouped to create a realistic look!

Ok, first of all I just wanna say that: MY ALLERGY IS KILLING ME!!!! My body seems like it's all swelled up because of the hives = =|||| OMG dying from the itchiness too.... GR!!!!

Ok, back to the point. I decided that I will slowly post all of my screenshots that I took while drawing into my blog, so everyone can see what I did through out the process. Also to prove to people that I did paint them, I'm not like lying or anything = =||||

Today I decided to post my Avatar drawing first, mainly because this only took me a few hours, and plus it's a referenced piece so there's really nothing really creative about it. I did it for the sake of practicing and nothing more, but it's still one of my favourite practice drawing so far.

OK, today I'm just gonna post some of the paintings I did, new and old, for a little showcase. I have to say that I am not satisfied with all of them, some of them I definitely think need improvements, but please just bare them through... I'm still learning

First of all I am going to clarify my painting experience. Which really is like... no experience at all = =|||| Of all those paintings I'm going to post today, I can tell you this is my first few pieces I've ever done in acrylic. I tried to paint acrylic before, but they turned out horrible, so just a year ago I still believed that I CAN'T PAINT.

However, last year when I got my tablet, that was where I started digital painting. Then as I get a little bit better with digital painting, I started to wonder if I could do this in a real painting on canvas. So then one day something hit me and got me going : portfolio for university application... That's where I decided I will buy some canvas and start my REAL painting. This time, they are WAY WAY WAY better. I get naturally so used to acrylic paint without even knowing that I can do this. I really think digital painting helped a lot, I wouldn't be able to paint like this if I hadn't painted in Photoshop.

Now, I am pretty proud to present some of my first few paintings. I mean they do have a lot of flaws for sure, but I am still proud of them! Please enjoy!! Comments and critics are always welcome ^^ Please make me improve more! Thank you!

Alright.... I WAS going to post something, but then as people can see, I fidget too much with my blog that in the end I don't have time to post anything.... Well, I guess it's ok, I mean I'm not in a hurry that much anyways la~~~

So, today all I did is to add music and tried some weird and retarded affect in the blog, I am still constantly improving my blog for sure~!

Despite the matter with my blog, I had a pretty horrible day today. I mean I guess most of the time it was fine, but I had a horrible 2 hours though. Mainly its due to the fight I had with my boyfriend... Sigh~ it was pretty screwed up, so I don't even wanna talk about it = =|||| But we are all ok, so that's the good news~

Well, that's all for me today ~ I hope I will have a better day tomorrow~~ Yay~ Art & animation class!

Getting Started Maybe...?

Well, I had this blog for a period of time already. However, I am always too lazy to post anything. Maybe its just that I don't like to type my blog in English or something, but anyways, I have to get this blog started. Why? I guess mainly because some of my friends in Canada can't read my Chinese blog, but also the fact that I must have a English blog to post my artwork in the future anyways. So today I fixed my blog, make it look nice and clean (and bloody = =||| even though its not intended )~ I mean its a good start I have to say, I really liked how my blog looks now.

Ok its enough for today, I will start slowly post my artworks in this blog~~~ Right now I'm having a headache, I guess I really need some rest... So~ maybe tomorrow I will post something? Maybe...?
