sky blue - project 64

This early morning sooc photo from Plain, Washington (again- see previous post here) shows the bluest of sky blue sky, and the snow in shadow is a deeper sky blue blue. There were lots of blue crayons in my box of 64, the difference of some was barely discernible. This matched my actual crayon more than the photo below. Only one blue left, and 9 more weeks, wonder when it'll pop up out of the blue. tee hee

Awesome barn around the corner from where I stayed in Plain, Washington this past weekend. It was a girls weekend with a little snowshoeing, picture taking, shopping and way too much eating.

I love love love yellow, but there isn't much out there that is yellow in winter so

I went to my archives for this one and used the texture "organic" by Kim Klassen.

Yellow is so springy especially buttercups.

I'm ready for spring and fields full of buttercups.

Word for 2012

Forget New Years Resolutions, the new trend is to

choose a word for the year, I think that is a fabulous idea

and have been thinking hard about it for the past 2 weeks.

I finally came up with, and you can probably guess that

my word or theme for 2012 is EXPAND...this is my goal,

to stretch creatively, to broaden my areas of interests,

to increase my faith, and well, basically to EXPAND

all areas of my life, well not my jean size but every where else.

Wild Strawberry

I love gumdrop type candy. I thought these cherry hearts fit the bill for "wild strawberry", so before I ate them all, I thought I'd try the macro setting on my new point and shoot (not too pleased, yet), Anyway Ms. Rebel the cat was bothered that I was ignoring her so I guess she thought pushing the candy on the floor would end my photo session. Well it did, that and eating the rest.

This was taken on Sunday 2 weeks ago. The whole family was on the ferry heading home from a weekend on Orcas Island. Imagine this photo as a background with everyone posed on deck for a Christmas card. I suggested, pleaded, and whined but short of demanding that they pose for just one photo, this is what I got. My camera shy, uncooperative motley crew *sigh*

This wasn't an easy color, but I think my old school desk is pretty close. I bought this years
ago, it was a mess and in about 12 pieces. I sanded, glued painted and stained and I think it turned out pretty nice, even though a bit too "mahagony" for my taste, I've lived with it for just this shot, I guess.
By the way the book stack lamp was a recent project that was inspired

This week all my neighboring mountains were either too green or covered in gray clouds, I spotted the purple in my little potters sample cup where I keep all my previously used project 64 crayons. See this weeks' to the right of the yellow orange?
