The Duchess of Cambridge is currently on maternity leave from royal duties, but come September 12th, Her Royal Highness will be back in the swing of things.

The Daily Mail confirmed this morning that Catherine will take on her first royal engagement since giving birth to Prince George on July 22nd. Her Royal Highness will join the Duke of Cambridge as guests of honor at the first-ever Tusk Conversation Awards.

The awards will be put on by the Tusk Trust, an organization that works to protect African wildlife from poachers. Prince William is a patron of the trust, and has been passionate about the continent for most of his life.

Kensington Palace confirmed the news to the Mail, stating that this has been "a long-standing engagement" for the royal couple.

In conjunction with the event, William will give his first post-baby interview to CNN's Max Foster, to air in the states on September 15th at 1opm ET. The Duke talked to Foster about his work with the Tusk Trust and his hope that Prince George will be able to experience the same Africa that Charles was able to share with his own sons.

A portion of the interview will air on CNN's New Day August 19th at 8am ET.

John Mayer is a Huge Fan of Girlfriend Katy Perry’s ‘Roar’

To no one’s surprise, John Mayer recently told Billboard that he’s a fan of “Roar,” the new single from girlfriend Katy Perry.

In fact, Mayer was a fan of the song before it reached the masses (and probably well before it leaked last weekend).

“I remember hearing it for the first time, going like, ‘Wow what an interesting experience’ to hear something that you identify as massive before it’s massive,” he says in a video interview with Billboard. “I thought it was a really sweet, unforgettable sort of experience to hear someone’s work while they still have a very nascent sort of relationship with it.”

Mayer, who’s had an on-and-off (and now on) again romance with Perry, also opened up about the couple’s duet “Who You Love,” which leaked earlier this week. The track appears on Mayer’s upcoming album Paradise Valley.

The 35-year-old musician says the ballad is based on the idea of “I love you based on the fact that I’ve tried to run and I’m not running and I give up.”

“I immediately thought about Katy and I was like, what a cool voice. What a cool artistic personality to have on. It was a really fun opportunity to write like, her answer to that,” he says of Perry’s contribution to the track.

“So you get these two sides to this relationship that are brutally honest but no less universal.”
Well, ain’t that sweet.

Miley Cyrus followed in the footsteps of stars like Kate Upton and Selena Gomez and stepped behind famed photographer's Terry Richardson's camera for one of his wild in-studio photo shoots.

The 20-year-old singer mugged for the shutterbug's lens striking a variety of provocative poses. Headstands, exposed tongues and crotch grabs ensued.
Terry Richardson recently shot Miley for a very different gig -- her super glamorous high-fashion Harper's Bazaar spread.

In addition to perfecting her best sexy face, Cyrus has been busy putting the finishing touches on her upcoming album, Bangerz. 'Bachelor' Star Gia Allemand Dead at 29 After Apparent Suicide Attempt

UPDATE 4:14 PM PST: Since the sad news broke today regarding the apparent suicide of beloved Bachelor star Gia Allemand, many reports have surfaced regarding the circumstances surrounding her sudden passing. A source close to the reality star says she apparently hanged herself.

UPDATE 3:14 PM PST: A statement from Gia Allemand's boyfriend New Orleans Pelicans player, Ryan Anderson: "I'm deeply grateful for all the love and support we have received from family, friends and fans. Gia was the most beautiful person I knew inside and out and she always smiled and made everyone else around her smile. She had such an amazing impact on my life and anyone that knew her was blessed. All I have left is to cherish those memories we made together and help perpetuate the many values, faith and love that we shared."

Former Bachelor contestant Gia Allemand died Wednesday following an apparent suicide attempt, her family confirmed this afternoon in a statement. She was 29.
"While in her residency in New Orleans on Monday night, Ms. Allemand was found by her boyfriend, NBA Basketball Player Ryan Anderson, following an apparent suicide attempt," the statement read. "Mr. Anderson contacted 911 and emergency medical crews were immediately dispatched to the scene. Tuesday, Ms. Allemand remained in the hospital unconscious in critical condition and on life support."
It continued:

Due to a critical loss of brain and organ function, life support was withdrawn today. Ms. Allemand passed away peacefully with her mother, boyfriend, and other life-long friends by her side. As a practicing Christian, Gia did receive the sacrament of last rites.

Funeral arrangements will be announced once they have been made, according to the statement. Allemand's family asks for privacy in the meantime. News of Allemand's hospitalization broke Tuesday. At the time, she was listed in critical condition “following a serious emergency medical event," according to her rep. No further details were released.

A source close to the reality star on Tuesday told Celebuzz her condition was "not related to her health, disease or degenerative condition in any way. It’s not that sort of health issue."
The Maxim model and New York native first launched to stardom when she appeared on Season 14 of ABC's The Bachelor, vying for the the love of pilot Jake Pavelka. She then went on to appear in two seasons of its spin-off, Bachelor Pad, in 2010 and 2011, respectively.
In wake of Allemand's death, Pavelka released a statement to Celebuzz, saying:

I am in complete shock and devastated to hear the news about Gia. She was one of the sweetest people I have ever known. And a very dear friend. My heart goes out to her family during this very difficult time. We have lost an angel today.
